Worst pharmacy ever. If you call be prepared to wait for at LEAST 30 mins, if they even pick up the phone at all. It doesn't matter what time of the day you call, be it 2:00 pm or 12:00 am. Usually I just hang up and go in. Maybe everybody does this and that is why they are terribly slow both inside and in the drive-thru. My husband and I like to say waiting in line at this place is what hell must be like. Maybe if they hired someone with minimal qualifications to help with questions that can be answered over the phone (e.g. Can you confirm if the manufacturer has changed?; what if the cost?) it would cut down on the number of people taking a ridiculous amount of time just to pick up medication. read more

I was so hoping that the new Express service would expedite picking up prescriptions from this Walgreens. But alas, it was not to be....yet. First, you must present the digital bar code that proves you have prepaid for your prescriptions. Problem for me is that I have no WiFi in the store. I have an iPhone 7 and Verizon as a service provider but no WiFi in the store. However, I have noted that this is not a problem for everyone using the Express service. Perhaps they have a different cell service provider. I don't know if there is anything Walgreens can do to improve reception within the store but it might be worth looking into it. Because I already knew reception would be a problem, this time I took screen shots of the bar codes but it was then difficult for them to scan them. Second, the whole point of prepayment is to speed things along. If Express customers are allowed to bring their additional purchases to the Express window for payment it negates the whole concept. I applaud Walgreens efforts to improve what has really become a problem at the Mowry location. I'm never getting back the hours and hours I have wasted waiting in line or in my car. Maybe additional staffing, particularly during peak hours, should be considered. read more

This is a review only for the pharmacy, not the general store. My longtime pharmacy at Raleys in Fremont closed, transferring all prescription records to Walgreens. My wife and I waited a few days after the transfer, then asked a Safeway Pharmacy (closer to our home) to contact Walgreens to transfer our Rx records. Over 4 days, several requests by Safeway Pharmacy, the Walgreens RX dept did not respond. Yesterday, we waited 40 minutes on hold to speak to a Walgreens Rx staff, to be told our Rx records were sent, twice, and would send them again. A call to Safeway showed nothing was sent. Today, one week after all started, Walgreens claims they have no record of our prescription files. Terrible process, and feel bad for the hundreds/thousands of patients affected by this transfer of records. It is not a Board of Pharmacy violation to refuse transferring records, but certainly unethical, and at very least inadequate health related service. This is a pharmacy to be very wary of. read more

I would give this a zero star rating if i could, this place is absolutely terrible and has the worst customer service in the world . I went into Walgreens tonight around 9 pm with my father and my roommate, to make a photocopy of my souvenir photo (THAT I PAID FOR MYSELF AND 100% HAD THE RIGHTS TO) that i purchased from my day trip to Alcatraz on Saturday. Here is where it starts to get ugly. I asked the worker, Stephanie ( an extremely, rude dark haired, middle aged- woman) if she could assist me, so she went over to the kiosk and it became evident to me that she clearly had no idea what she was doing (just gazed at the photo and continuously pressed random buttons ). So after about ten minutes of that torture she decided to go into the back and ask her supervisor for further assistance, she returned only to tell me that because it was a souvenir photo she could not copy it for me. Right....sure... even though I had paid for it, had the rights to it, and am pretty sure she just had no idea what she was doing and was being extremely lazy. Although disappointed, I would not have immediately gone online to write this review had this been the end of our little encounter. My dad said something to her to the effect of "what is the difference between printing this photo now and just scanning one at home and copying and printing that"? She said there was nothing she could do to which we walked away and said "whatever". I was horrified to hear her say "whatever" back,in an exceptionally rude tone, mimicking us like a child!!! I have never seen such aggressiveness, unprofessionalism, and flat out rudeness exhibited in an employee before. Target may be more expensive, but at least there employees are NICE and HELPFUL, I will never use walgreens photo service again. read more

This pharmacy warrants a multiple negative star rating. The wait times are outrageous. It's a combination of understaffing and lackluster turn around times by the existing staffing. Wrist service ever. I have been coming here for more than 10 years and pick up monthly medication.. every time think about it will come better. Zero stars for customer service. Drive through service is also terrible. Each car stays for 20-30 mins and never move, though the board says the drive through only for pick up and drop off only . They can't look up a receipt even if you know the date and time of purchase, the credit card you used, and the rewards member number on the purchase. Luckily I was able to go back and search again and find the receipt. Otherwise, they would only have given me store credit of $69 on a $102 item. I also had to stand there in the photo dept waiting for 10 minutes until someone could do the refund. The cashier at the front was also calling for help for the long line of customers she had in her line that she wasn't catching up with a steady flow. There were 4 or 5 employees I saw going in to a back room during this time but not coming out to help. Good thing is 24hr drug store. The only and main negative that I find here is that the pharmacy is always long quaue. It is a bit much most times. After waiting 13 dsys, the meds are in. By calling Walgreens customer service number, 8009254733, option 4, and threatening to call Walgreens CEO Pessina and tell him after serving 20 years in the military and being forced to use Walgreen's by Tri Care , I expected to get my wife's medication. Walgreen's had filled it before and said they'd do it sgain, but the warehouse wasn't cooperating. Fremont Walgreens is the worst I've ever seen. If I can say anything about this Walgreens pharmacy is that they are consistent. They are consistently incompetent. I've come here 3 times in the last week and my prescriptions have never been ready. This time I went to Walgreens, and they said it wouldn't be ready for an hour. I went home and came back only to find out that nobody put the order in on their part with no reasonable explanation. This is about their passport photo service. I have noticed 4 negative points: 1. The camera used for taking passport pictures does not meet the minimum requirement of 3.5M pixels. 2. Lighting quality is really bad; photo will look like it has been modified which is a NO NO for passport picture. 3. The picture showed top of my head indicating that camera was not at my eye level. The lady who took my picture suppose to be a certified digital photographer but her work was worse than my 5 year old nephew. Her customer service skills were also really bad. I don't want to put anyone in trouble but at today's economy, people who still have a job should try to be the best in their area of work. read more

Can't believe the pharmacy dept. The are rude . they don't ever have enough help. Just today they said they faxed in the request for refill @ 10:40 A.M., & confirmed the fax went thru. But my doc office said they didn't get the request. This happens on more than one occasion . I just got out of the hospital, can't stand in line, very long line @ counter & drive thru, The long lines are even at the regular counters. This store is under staffed at all times. Even my Doc tells his patients to go to Wal Mart, & walgreens is across the street from his office. He can't stand their pharmacy. I've had it, Wal Mart here I come!!! The shelves are always well-stocked, I have no complaints about the product. However, half the times I'm in here, even if I just want cigarettes, there's a 15 minute wait because there's always only 1 person ringing, no matter how long the line is. There's one woman (she has long black hair and she's older) who is REALLY friendly but so friendly that she manages to spend about ten minutes with each customer. It's ridiculous. I've seen a 1 person line turn into a 10 person line with her on register. You can go in wanting one thing and she'll have you there forever. If someone's doing a return in front of you and she's ringing, prepare for a 30 minute wait. Again, friendly person, but maybe scale back a bit in favor of timeliness? Most of the employees are either super duper friendly or totally deadpan. It's a hit or miss. I guess it's not a big deal, most people don't come to walgreens for a great customer service experience, they come for toilet paper or medicine. Also, you can never find a person to let you into the bathroom. If you walk in needing to pee I think they can sense it and they all run into the back of the store. Don't pee here. I go here almost everyday, mostly shop drinks and Candy's sometimes they have a long line to billing counter, there is a guy who is tall and works night shift he simply resembles Steve jobs he is too generous and day shift I like Janet as I see her everyday in stores she has a cute smile and very active she is very quick and won't waste time, there is another girl in the store she has beautiful eyes and she is all over the place in store, I recommend that they can improve more on Inventory. read more

If I could leave a zero I would. Never take a partial order for any rx, they make you pay for the entire amount and when you come back to get the rest, they tell you that you can't get a refill. They short you on controlled substances. Make them count out the pills. Worst attitude in the world. Think they are always right even when you show them they are wrong. I have picked up medications at this location before. After yesterday? Never again. I had taken my 14 year old daughter to the dr. Because she had flu like symptoms and was running a fever of 102.8. They gave her a prescription of Tamiflu . Since it was 7pm and my regular pharmacy was closed and this pharmacy is open 24 hours, I reluctantly went to have it filled at this location. I was expecting a wait because there always is. This time when I got there, they had one pick up line open, and the line was all the way to the front of the store. I dropped off my prescription, (my daughter luckily got a chair to sit in to wait) they told me 45 minutes. I went directly from the drop off window, to the end of the pick up line. Stood there for an hour and a half. Finally get to the counter, the lady tells me it's not ready and that it will be another 45 minutes. I tell her I need to speak to a manager. She points and says "she's over there". I go to the consultation window and the pharmacy manager comes up and asks how she can help me. I tell her " I've been waiting an hour and a half in line and that My kid has been sitting in here with a fever of 102.8. I get to the counter to pick up, and the lady at the register tells me it will be another 45 minutes!" The manager then asks me what I'm here to pick up and I tell her Tamiflu. She says "yes, that will be another 45 minutes." I looked at her very sternly told her, "I'm not waiting...I need to get my kid home" she then tells me to have a seat. Within 5 minutes I had my meds and we were heading out the door. This place is so understaffed it's ridiculous! read more

This review is for the pharmacy. Always a HUGE line of at least 10 people. Last night I waited close to an hour to pick up a prescription that was ready. I seriously don't understand why it takes the staff 5-6 minutes to find a prescription that's already filled and sitting in bins arranged alphabetically. If someone's trying to pick up a prescription that isn't ready, seems to me they should be able to tell this in the computer and tell the person to come back later. I feel sorry for the very sick and/or disabled who have to wait in lines like this just to get their medicine. Terrible. read more

being a pharmacist myself & having worked in retail before, I'm sympathetic with regards to community pharmacies because I know what the techs/pharmacists go through. however, I would seriously warn anyone reading this to stay away from filling prescriptions at this pharmacy. it's convenient because it's open 24-7, but I can hardly ever reach anyone or get anything done. for example, my doctor ordered a prescription for me a few weeks ago and I didn't pick it up in time, so when I stopped by later the pharmacist said it was returned to stock but she could fill it for me in 15 minutes. fair enough, I told her I'd actually pick it up later since I had to leave. I tried to call a few times over the next few days to make sure it was ready, but waited 10+ minutes each time to reach someone... then, after waiting 30+ minutes on a Friday night, I finally spoke to someone on the phone & the prescription was never filled. she said she'd process it & it'd be ready in 15 minutes (sounds familiar)... so I stopped by the drive-thru the next day only to find out it was never filled & they couldn't fill it now due to technical issues. & this is only one medication, a generic birth control that I wasn't in any particular rush to pick up... I shudder to think how stressful it would be if I had more complicated meds or something I needed to start ASAP. I sympathize with the workers & know they're usually short staffed because Walgreens corporate sucks, but do not come here if you need your scripts filled in a timely manner!!! drive somewhere else & save your precious time!!! I'm only writing this Yelp review to vent because there's no way in hell Walgreens would care if I complained. So go somewhere else & support an independent pharmacy if your insurance will allow it!!! read more

I've been on hold and driven from South San Jose to this location and still did not get an answer while stood in line to see if my prescription has been filled. Out of stock again. I'm not sure what difficulties she was experiencing by scanning a barcode but I will not be coming back to this pharmacy due to the lack of communication and sympathy during this transaction. Their drive thru is a nightmare. I just dealt with a 45 min wait in drive- thru just to find out that my prescription is not ready when I put it in on Wednesday. After asking the pharmacist how is it possible she tells me that we didnt get prior authorization from the Dr, yet they didnt have the courtesy to call and let me know what the actual matter was in order to save time and deal with the wait. I call the doctors office just to find out that they didnt receive any request. I dont know who is lying and not doing the job they are getting paid for.This is not the first time but it happens time and time again. I would love to change it but its convenient to where I live. Some of their cashiers in the front are amazing but I have only came across one asian pharmacist who is sweet heart out of the many that works there.
