This is a small family vineyard tucked into a small, charming, quintessential Connecticut town. The tasting room is in a 19th-century barn. There is a deck, patio, and "the hill," a lawn area over looking the vines, where you can relax with a bottle of any of their very good wines. You will never go there and not be greeted by the owners.

Five stars for the wine tasting experience. Really enjoyed the flights. But subtracting three stars because we bought two bottles of the Walker Road Red Table WIne to bring home and it is awful. Pretty sure it has turned. And pretty sure the proprietor knew she was selling us some bad wine. Why else would the marks X.X.X. ! ! be on the bottle? Taster enjoy; buyer beware.

Cutest little vineyard. The couple who owns this place are fun to talk to and allowed us to walk down into the vineyards to take photos. There are various seating area around the perimeter of the barn. When you purchase a bottle and some cheese/crackers, everything is packaged up. There is also a beautiful balcony/patio that you can sit by that overlooks the garden

The size of this vineyard belies how adorable it is. It looks at first glance like someone decided to turn their backyard into a wine tasting bar for fun and profit, but the low key vibe just makes it a relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. The tasting barn is cozy, and currently has an art exhibit with work inspired by the artist's trip to Cuba. They do offer a very clean restroom with a single toilet. The backyard has grape vines buttressing an open space with familiar lawn furniture for guests to take in the beautiful backyard and wildly colorful flower garden. Compared to some of the larger vineyards that cater to large groups and result in loud noises, Walker Road offers a much more relaxing and intimate experience. Even more finicky friends who are more wine-devotees than myself were so impressed with the surroundings they were okay the Vineyard only has two varieties of wine (red and white).

Beautiful setting in the farmlands of the rolling Housatonic Valley. A smaller vineyard with great local wine, an historic barn and family farm setting. Adorable local couple own and operate this vineyard and are working their butts off during COVID. Choose between seats on their deck overlooking the vines, or tables scattered around between the rows of the vineyards. Absolutely worth the trip to spend a nice Labor Day with a bottle of their wine and a green hills backdrop.

A small family-owned award winning vineyard. Jim Frey, the owner and 2016 Connecticut Wineperson of the Year, was most welcoming and hospitable. Their red wine is of fine taste and has a smooth finish. The vineyard is situated in a quaint lovely property in Woodbury, CT. Walk in for wine tasting or grab a bottle of their wonderful wine and sit and enjoy their exquisite garden and vineyard...

After reading a few reviews before our visit, we thought this place sounded great. It's absolutely worth the visit! Jim, the owner and winemaker, greeted us and welcomed us with a handshake...great gesture that you typically don't see at other vineyards. I instantly felt welcomed and loved the personal experience. Jim told us all about his two wines, one white and one red, both blends. He went into great detail about the grapes, the labels, the winemaking process, and even showed us the bottling room. This room is in the barn, next to the tasting room, but is air conditioned and available for private parties. We did the tasting for $5 each, and had a hefty pour of each wine. Both were on the dry side but very good. I liked the red more, but the white was nice too. It was just so refreshing to visit a winery and learn about the winemaking process and more details about how a small winery operates. It is evident that Jim and his wife really take pride in what they do and they want to share that with their guests. We purchased a bottle of red to enjoy outside on the property before heading home, and we will most definitely be back!

    Awesome Red wine!

This was our last stop on the Connecticut wine trail our 33rd winery, and we turned in our CT Passports. The owners were fantastic the barn was beautiful, and the wines were delicious. They only have two a red and white....That red wine tho. Wow. We bought three bottles to take home. A delicious red wine with care. One of the best on the Connecticut wine trail I think. Pay them a visit it's, worth it!

Love it! Lots of upgrades in the past few years. Had a lovely Sun afternoon sitting in the sun w our snacks and wine. The landscape has been broadened and seems so much more inviting. The owners are friendly and informative. I learned more about wine there than I have at other vineyards. The coupe really seem to love what they are doing and enjoy spending time explaining their wine. We really love their white wine! They do have a cute little converted barn where there is an ongoing chess game set up, and separate serving room, and wine barrels set up as tables. The barn door has a view of the vineyards. We can't wait to go back , and often!

Enjoying Walker Road's "Vineyard Oasis" Make sure to stop by and enjoy delicious wines, great stories, and great people.

Beautiful winery in Woodbury. Have visited a few times and the wines are always so good. Reds are my favorite. The owners are lovely people.

Our day started with a Chinese tea ceremony in the barn and then a catered lunch. About 6:30pm, the ceremony with a live music started followed by passed hors d'oeuvre, fresh oysters, and wood fired pizza. The wood fired pizza was very delicious and I enjoyed the blackened shrimp and the arancini. I tried the cider and the rosé, but they were too dry for my taste. Then at 7:45pm, we went into the reception pavilion. The menu consisted of a salad as first course, a duet plate of salmon and beef short rib for entree, and dessert. The summer citrus salmon with the multi grain pilaf was very good. After first dance, father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, and speeches, the DJ told us to step outside. After a few minutes, the sky exploded with light. It was a beautiful fireworks display from the hillside. The bathrooms were stocked with essentials in the toiletry baskets. Red Maple Vineyard offers a rustic barn and reception pavilion, massive green grounds, and a beautiful garden.

Rosabianca Vineyards is a craft vineyard and winery that opened in Northford, Connecticut in 2015…read more It was founded by Charlie Rosabianca. The roots of the vineyard go back several decades. Charlie's father Andrea Rosabianca immigrated to Connecticut from Amalfi, Italy in the 1950s. He had dreams and aspirations to become a farmer, but with a family to support he was unable to achieve that dream. He instead became a carpenter, but he always had the most beautiful gardens. Beginning in the early 1970s, Charlie took up the hobby of making homemade wine. In 2010, he decided to retire from his job and pursue his dream of opening a winery. In 2012, he and his family purchased a ten acre property in Northford with the hopes of turning it into a vineyard. They planted their first acre of Cayuga grapes in 2014 and by the following year the tasting room had opened to the public. Charlie dedicated the winery to his father (who had passed away in 1997), and all the wines are given Italian names as a tribute to him. In addition to producing wines with estate-grown grapes, Rosabianca also sources grapes from California. Several members of Charlie's family are also involved with the business, including his cousin Maria Calabrese, his daughters, and multiple grandchildren. My wife and I have visited Rosabianca Vineyards multiple times since they opened. They have an excellent repertoire of wines and some even pop up seasonally (I have a soft spot for their Holiday Rosé). Although the winery doesn't distribute, it's no big deal for us because they are just a short drive from our house. The property is beautiful with a nice outdoor patio area, gardens, and beautiful views of the vineyards. My family and I recently stopped by the winery for a visit; it was our first one since the pandemic. The winery recently renovated and made additions to their tasting room. We still opted to sit outside on the patio. We chose this particular day to come because we knew that they had scheduled a pizza truck to come. Sipping some local wine on the patio paired with delicious wood-fired pizza is always a good time! My wife and I ordered and shared a bottle of the winery's "Bianco Rosato": a semi-sweet blend of Gamay and Cayuga grapes that has aromas of watermelon and undertones of cherry, raspberry, and honey. We all had an excellent experience and we plan to return to Rosabianca again and again!

Per my last sentence, be sure you go online and KNOW what you want to do and what you want to spend! You can 'easily' spend a lot of money here - on the other hand, if you know what you're doing you can have a nice afternoon/evening here at a reasonable cost. Again, go on the website beforehand. I can't stress this enough! Their wine is expensive as are 'some' seating options so be advised. We were actually there 3x's this spring/summer. Went to a big party under one of their large structured tents, then we had a small party under an umbrella table, and then went up again this past weekend and just sat in chairs and caught a sunset and amazing dinner from Greek Cave food truck. The food trucks (always 2) vary, but they list whose there on the website along with any entertainment (extra cost). Very annoying is the fact you can't call there!
