Always great whenever we go- food is consistent and the service even better. It's a fear meal for the money.

Decent food, but it's what I'd call Midwest supper club fare. Gigantic portions, lots of traditional comfort food (like meatloaf, prime rib, chicken) and some attempts at diversity that depend heavily on sugar. My husband's medium rare prime rib was partially shy of rare on one end, the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing, and the "Korean" BBQ pork chops were such huge slabs of meat they required a platter. When I say "Korean", I mean that their version of the traditional sauce was more like light teriyaki. Each chop was 1.5" thick and between the two chops, it was literally enough to feed a family of five. We'll split the leftovers tomorrow and still have a lunch serving left. read more

Very good food, ambience and service. Classic american food with a twist. Its kind of a place I tend to forget about but have not had anything bad. Not sure if I forget about it because its too far for take out and I have better choices closer to me. I would recommend eating there, just dont know if i would drive across town out of my way to go there. read more

Very reliable service and good food. There is only one item on the menu I dislike and it rhymes with burkey turger. Otherwise, everything else is done well. Watch for cilantro. Ate here with Tim's brother and sister-in-law as it's near their new place and they'd heard good things about it. It has a nice pub-like "Cheers" atmosphere and a menu of mostly pub/comfort food, with a few more adventurous choices tucked in there. I had the perch (pan-fried and not too greasy) and Tim had the meatloaf, which he vouched for. We split a smoked salmon app between the four of us--tasted fresh, and with just the right amount of smoke. Surprisingly, the bill for the app, perch, meatloaf, an ice tea and a beer came in at just less than $40, which was pretty good compared to the prices we're used to in the Detroit area. How do you spell Excellent -Walker Roadhouse,from start to finish and all courses in between. From the excellent 4**** Star Prime rib to the Prime rib sandwich it was all very good as our pallets were well pleased and satisfied. Great food. I finally tried the prime rib and I was very happy with it. Not the best I've had, but this IS the best restaurant in Walker, MI, and I've been lucky enough to have SUPERB prime rib before. This place has a really great atmosphere. The food is always good and fresh. Anything with there grilled or blackened salmon is amazing! Have been coming here for years, usually once a week. This place is going into our regular rotation for dinner due to their outstanding Prime Rib, my wife's favorite. As a fan of all things Prime Rib this tops her list as best ever. I've had the London Broil and a french-dip sandwich, both of which were fine. Seems like a popular place for families and the after-work crowd. Only downside is that due to the open layout around the bar area it can get a little loud. read more

There were 7 of us for a birthday dinner. Started with bang thai shrimp and spinach artichoke dip. Good. I had the NY strip and ordered it medium rare and it was done perfectly. An elderly aunt clued us in to the virtues of Walker Roadhouse, so we took her to dinner there last week. She had the perch, and I was amazed to see an 89-year old light eater polish off a complete plate of fresh perch, and believe me, she savored every single bite, smiling the entire time. I had a mahi mahi special; it was the best-prepared mahi I have ever had, and I've tried it in many places. What a find this place is. Too bad it's far from our home in Detroit, I'd be a regular for sure. read more

My Mother in law (who doesn't have internet which is why I am writing this for her) and her 29 class mates made their yearly trip to Walker Roadhouse this afternoon. This was their 8th year meeting at this particular restaurant. I have never heard anything but great things in the years prior so I was expecting the same story today when I checked in on how her day was. She was so visibly upset with the whole experience. The waitress was rude and rushed the experience, they felt like a nascence instead of taken care of and even left Walker Roadhouse due to the bad experience to go to the Rainbow Grill for coffee and Desert. Rainbow Grill Thankfully welcomed them and went above and Beyond for them. This Group of Woman only get to meet once a year after Graduating from Grandville High school 50 years ago. I, knowing this woman who so cherishes these moments am so upset that she and her group now only have this to talk about instead of memories and amazing times since Graduation. Needless to say they will not be back. Sad. read more

I would not go back to this place. Asked for meatloaf and they were out so I got the filet mignon medallions instead and for an appetizer, I got the sweet potato fries with gouda fondue. The fries were decent and crunchy. The fondue was grainy and the gouda taste was very faint. I ordered the steak medallions medium rare and they came out medium and the flavor was plain. It tasted like there was no seasoning on them at all. Same for the mashed potatoes and the Brussel sprouts that it came with. Also, the Brussel sprouts were boiled to death and were plain and soggy, it was gross. read more

We have eaten here a couple of times now. The last time was with my daughter and my boyfriend. We went on a Friday night around 8p.m. We were seated right away - no wait. It was very busy and very loud. Almost a bit too loud to hold a normal conversation. Our waitress was friendly and we had no issues with her. I had the Haystack burger with sweet potato fries. Yum! My burger was cooked just as requested -medium, and the sweet potato fries were great. My daughter had a cheese burger with chips. She said the burger was "o.k., and she loved the homemade chips. My boyfriend ordered a sizzler steak with garlic mashed potatoes, and broccoli. He loved his steak - it was seasoned perfectly and cooked just as he ordered. I tried a bite of the steak and I agree - it was perfect. Potatoes were good - could have been a bit warmer. He said the broccoli was mushy and not seasoned at all. Overall, I really like this place and will eat here again. read more

Great restaurant! Its close to home, and has that neighborhood feel. Food is consistently good, and service is always great! They make the best bloody martini. A combo bloody mary and martini. Its not on the menu anymore, but if you ask they will make it for you. read more

Ridiculously healthy sized portions! So much food for the buck. While I don't prefer my fish tacos on flour tortillas, These were packed full of grilled fish and veggies. Tasty chowder that stayed thick and didn't liquefy. My dinner companions split the fish and chips and each got 3 large pieces of fish! Can't wait to try some other things on the menu. read more

One of two places I will frequent when in town. The food is decent and the staff is always courteous and attentive. Plus they all seem to know my step father. It is a great neighborhood joint that is clean, bright, and comfortable. If I lived here, I'm sure it would've my go to all the time. What to eat? The Thai lettuce rolls are good. It's not on the menu but I always get chips and salsa too. I usually stick to the turkey sandwich (yummy pretzel roll) or the Santa Fe wrap. read more

First time here, Where do I start. First, I love prime rib, had hundreds of prime dinners all over the states, but this was the worst! Break down, the potatoes were good, as was the veggies, potatoes 4 stars, veg 3 star, but that 'prime rib' was not prime cut, it was select at best, not even choice cut. Wife and I went Jan 29, both had the prime, first thing she said was this taste like it's been warmed up from yesterday and it taste more like 'just a sirloin beef roast', I agreed, but also, what proved to us it was select cut at best, was it was tough as shoe leather. The best I can say is it tasted and chewed like a select grade beef roast. Also, it was not done the way we requested, so, I can't even give one star on the meat. Will I be back? No, unless it free, and I try something else. Must say service was 5 star. read more

We went to Walker Roadhouse last night and fell in love with this place! This was our first time here. We found it online and the menu looked so good. There were so many options for fish, steaks, chicken, salads and more. We ended up getting the Ahi-Tuna for an appetizer, it was so flavorful and plated beautifully. My booyfriend ordered the Champagne Seafood Pasta that had Sauteed Shrimp, Scallops, Green Onion, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Artichoke Hearts in a Champagne and Lemon-Garlic Cream Sauce tossed with Fettuccini. We both agreed it was packed full of flavor and the shrimp and scallops were cooked just right. I got the Lemon-Artichoke Mahi Mahi Grilled and topped with Sauteed Shrimp and Artichoke Hearts in a Light Lemon Butter and finished with deep fried Capers. Served with Wild Rice Pilaf and I chose Asparagus for my vegetable. I had never had Mahi Mahi before and it was so good. This fish was a nice big piece that was grilled perfectly, it was so flaky and the texture was perfect in my mouth. We finished off with the Apple Crisp that was served Ala-mode that was so nice and warm with oh so much goodness. This place was great! I HIGHLY recommend that everyone tries this place. Have been here at least 40 times in the last 3 years, 38 have been GREAT. The last two, within a month, have been nothing less than awful. 4 weeks ago the pork chops were the size of lamb chops. Last night, my wife received her entree, 10 minutes after we paid the bill, as I waited at the hostess stand. The Manager on duty claimed that the ticket went in 20 minutes before we left. The thing is, I and my son, finished our entree's while my wife was eating her salad. The proper response to a $70 bill, that was unacceptable is, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience", not telling a previous head chef, of 15 years, that it takes 15 minutes to cook Mahi-Mahi and it takes longer to cook fish than it does to cook pork chops. The ownership may have changed in the past few months, the management as well. I do not know. All I know is, the experience has certainly changed for the worse. Also, at 7 pm on a Saturday, they had run out of their signature "Prime Rib", for the 2nd time in a month, Which is why I go there. Not that the Pork chops are not usually delicious, but, we are talking about a signature dish. Sorry, but tell me what is happening. Do i abstain, or do I try one more time. Hopefully, a manager reads and responds to this review. read more
