Very disappointed with this service department. My wife brought in her Mazda CX-5 and was given an estimate of over $11,000 in recommended repairs and maintenance. After reviewing the quote, several items appeared to be significantly overpriced. One example was an $82 charge to replace the cabin air filter. We purchased the filter ourselves for around $10 and replaced it in just a few minutes. What concerned us even more was being told that the vehicle was essentially on its last legs and needed extensive work. Fortunately, we decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. Another reputable shop reviewed the same vehicle and quoted approximately $3,000 to address the legitimate issues that actually needed attention. I understand dealerships typically charge more than independent mechanics, but the difference between $11,000 and $3,000 is impossible to ignore. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone receiving a large repair estimate here to get a second opinion before authorizing any work. Immediately after receiving that estimate, we were met by a salesman who recommended we trade in the car and cut our losses. watch out for crazy low ball offers for trade ins, I could make this a super long post but i'll keep it short. came in with trade in numbers for our car from 3 dealers, all were within a few $ of each other so as long as walkers was close to those numbers we would buy their car and be on our way. Explained all this to our sales person and the number for our trade that they came back with was HALF what the other dealers had offered me. I asked for my keys and the sales person wouldnt go get them so I had to walk into the managers office and get them myself.Only then Did Trey(sales manager) try and ask what he could do to earn our business.... tried to up the offer but little too late. Service department is great, but I'd never buy a car from the sales department again. A few days after buying my car I noticed there was 2 small dents on the roof of my car, I'm short so obviously I wasn't able to see the roof of my car when buying it. It wasn't till I was sitting on my patio and was looking down at my car. I've never taken my car through a car wash, always hand washed... never taken it in a parking garage, my car is just a commuter car that only gets driven 3-4 times a week. I know these 2 small dents were on my car before I purchased it, and I brought it up to the sales manager and of course he says there is no knowledge of the dents on my car prior to me purchasing it. Really liked this place up until they were not willing to resolve this issue, so I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase a car here because they will sell you a car with dents and then act like you're the problem. read more

Never take your car to Walker's Renton Mazda to be repaired. They are both crooks and bad mechanics. My 2003 Mazda was overheating. They charged me $2,000 for a new radiator and hoses. It still ran hot when I took it home. They told me that the head was cracked and it would still run hot. I replaced the thermostat and the car ran fine after that. I did the work myself. The thermostat cost $17 and the gasket for it $2. Renton Mazda charge me $1,000 labor for their work when they replaced the wrong parts. They are both crooks and bad mechanics. I had a very bad experience with them. Avoid them at all costs. read more

Very bad experience with Walker's Renton Mazda. I purchased a car from them and later found out that they added multiple extra contracts (like key service and maintenance packages) to my paperwork without properly explaining them to me. After about 6 months when I noticed these charges, I went back to the dealership to cancel them. I spoke with a manager named Den, who was extremely rude and spoke to me in a very aggressive and disrespectful way instead of helping resolve the issue. Later, after getting advice from others, I contacted them again and went back to the dealership to cancel the contracts. They gave me a cancellation copy and told me it would take 3-5 weeks for the cancellation to process and that the refund would go directly to my auto loan bank. Now it has been over 8 weeks and my bank confirmed that no cancellation or refund has been processed from Walker's Renton Mazda. This is very frustrating and unprofessional. I feel misled and ignored. What's even more concerning is that two of my friends experienced similar issues with the same dealership. I strongly recommend that anyone buying a car here carefully check every document before signing. Be very cautious with any additional contracts or add-ons they include. read more

I had a frustrating experience here. The car was stickered at $33,399, and from the beginning, I made it very clear that I was looking for a firm $32,000 out-the-door price before discussing financing. Instead of working from that number, the conversation kept getting redirected toward monthly payments. At one point, I was quoted $734 for 48 months after putting $6,000 down and trading in my vehicle for $2,500. That works out to over $43,000 total when you add everything together -- nowhere near the $32,000 OTD price I asked for. Later, I was quoted financing around $29,000 after the same $6,000 down and $2,500 trade, which still implies a total price well above $32,000. It shouldn't matter whether I'm financing or paying cash -- the out-the-door price should be established first. If $32,000 OTD isn't feasible, that's completely fine. Just say that. But both salespeople acted like they couldn't work backward from a total price because I was financing, which doesn't make sense. I left feeling like they assumed I wouldn't understand the numbers and were trying to steer me toward a payment instead of being transparent about the total cost. I was simply asking for straightforward pricing and clarity, and unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. read more

We moved from Gig Harbor to Renton and wanted to switch our car dealership/service to be closer. I called to schedule an oil change for my 2025 Mazda. After I scheduled our appointment with Walkers, I received a coupon for oil service from the Tacoma dealer (coincidence). It was significantly less so I called Walkers and asked if they would match the deal and that we would be switching our service provider to Walkers. I talked to, I think Joey, nice guy. He had me send the email from the Tacoma dealer. He then put me on hold to see if his manager would meet the deal. He then told me they wouldn't, with that I canceled my upcoming oil change informed him that we would not be doing business with them after all. And honestly that wasn't smart business on their part. When I bought my car in 2022, the man in the finance department tricked me into canceling my 3rd party gap insurance to buy through them by telling me it would be refunded if I never missed a payment, and when I went to follow up after making my final payment recently, surprise, surprise, he is no longer with the company and they won't honor it. My Mazda CX 5 has been a great car. Although it is over ten years old, I have always maintained it and have had no problems. It has 78,000 miles. Its last full service was less than 6,000 miles ago. When it suddenly would not start after running perfectly, I had it towed to Walker's Renton Mazda where I bought it. After diagnosis, I was told by the service advisor that there were numerous problems, all of which needed to be replaced with new parts. The list included: Intake manifold replacement, fuel injector replacement, mass airflow sensor replacement, spark plug replacement, fuel rail replacement, a new battery, a new engine air filter, a new cabin air filter and a "Platinum" fuel induction service. The quote was for over $6700. I paid the $250 diagnosis fee and a $350 tow bill to have the car taken to an independent certified mechanic. After diagnosis and replacing the airmass flow sensor and a relay sensor, all the codes corrected themselves and the car runs great again. The total bill for the repair was $860. including parts and labor. I saved almost $6000 by taking it to an actual mechanic who was interested in fixing the problem, not just changing as many parts as possible to make a profit. I've learned my lesson. read more

I would not recommend this Mazda to any women looking for a safe reliable vehicle or safe environment in the Mazda dealership. I experienced the most sexist interaction with Mike from service and Luke the General Sales Manager. My CX-30 has given me problems since the day I leased it, every time I have to interact with Mike from service it is clear he does not like his job, I normally ignore it but this time my vehicle was completely broken down and I had no choice but to deal with him. He was completely dismissive of my concerns and even rolled his eyes visibly at one point to show case his annoyance with me speaking. When I asked to speak to a manager, Luke is who came out, and upon him walking up to me you could tell he was pre-annoyed even having to acknowledge me. It was sexism at its finest. I am going to take action as far as I can, as I am so frustrated with how I was spoken to. The only reason I got any help was because I had to start video recording them for my own safety, after Mike and Luke starting calling me out of my name. This was an extremely unacceptable and avoidable interaction. Mike went out of his way to be difficult and unhelpful. The lack professionalism was astounding. So again, if you want a safe environment and vehicle for women, DO NOT GO TO WALKERS RENTON MAZDA. Ben the service advisor was the only saving grace to this entire situation. Misleading pricing and bait-and-switch tactics. I went to Walker's Renton Mazda to buy a vehicle that was clearly quoted to me at $33,000 by their salesperson, Koffi Becanty. After I signed a credit authorization form and they pulled my credit (confirmed by Experian), the price suddenly changed to $34,500. When I questioned the increase, I was told by Sales Manager Trey Castles that there was nothing they could do and that I'd have to accept the new price. I had not agreed to or signed any purchase contract. I also have a witness and handwritten notes that confirm the original price. This kind of bait-and-switch behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Be very cautious when giving them your personal information -- especially before anything is finalized in writing. I've filed complaints with the with the bureaus , and will be following up with the office as well. read more

Please watch out for brake ratings from Walker's Renton Mazda. I took our car in (CX5) and got a concerning report that both rear brake linings were in the red (2mm) and required immediate replacement. They said they couldn't do it then, but I could book it in for later. I was obviously nervous about driving the car in between given that report, so I took the car to the U Village Renton garage (totally separate company). That gave the car an eye-opening report of no concerns (5mm linings at those spots). They also said that I was the second person to bring a Mazda in with the exact same story. I reached out to the original garage (the Renton one). They wanted me to bring the car back to them, which seemed like that inconvenienced me a ton for their problem, and we eventually got to them sending a service person to check our car again at our place of residence. And guess what - rear brake linings were indeed totally fine at 5mm. So, Walker's Renton Mazda either has a technician so incompetent that they accidentally measured or recorded the rating incorrectly and didn't notice the large red flags, or that was a deliberate move to force through expensive brake replacements, which is fraud. They seemed unconcerned with that. The manager didn't apologize or report doing anything to correct the situation. I am never going back there again and would caution others against using that garage. read more

Good: - dealership is clean - good location, right next to the highway Bad: - salesman only wants to sell and close the deal so watch out for high pressure sales tactics. - once they close the deal and sold you the car it'll be impossible to get a hold of them to resolve any issues and mistakes they made, and the excuse they use will be that they have "too many customers". Tips: Go to the other Mazda dealerships around the area instead, you'll get better service and better deal, but if you have to do your business here, remember to do your research before going to them. Don't rush the post-purchase survey because they want to get the 10/10 as fast as possible so they get their bonus. leave honest reviews and score in the survey even if they coerce you for a higher score. read more

Even having told him we weren't buying a car from them because we were a few weeks away from moving across country and just wanted to narrow our options down through test driving, Christian went through all 3 of the cars we were interested in thoroughly explaining the features and differences in every one. Answer to business owner: I understand how the loaner car situation works, we have no problems getting a (nice) loaner at Subaru. As for the nice customer service turning off after we completed the purchase, I don't think there's anything to explain. Sales person was charming and then wouldn't even return our calls when the "made by Ford" Mazda3 we bought bit the dust after only 30K miles, the issue with the bad solenoids was known by Mazda but the company wouldn't stand by their product. After a lengthy wait of 90 minutes, I was informed that the service was complete. However, upon returning to my car, I noticed the service sticker indicated a next service due in just 3,000 miles. Upon further inspection of my receipt, I discovered I was given a synthetic blend oil change--a service cheaper and less durable than what I had paid for. To confirm my suspicions, I contacted another Mazda dealership, which verified that the full synthetic oil change is indeed $120, whereas the synthetic blend I received costs only $89. When I addressed this discrepancy with the dealership staff, I encountered a series of evasive and unsatisfactory responses. Initially, I was inaccurately told that the synthetic blend was recommended for my model--a statement I knew to be false. Following this, the blame was shifted to the mechanic, and my requests to speak with a manager were nearly disregarded. After insisting, I managed to discuss the matter with a manager, only to be met with further deflection and no resolution. Promises of follow-up were unmet, leaving me with a sense of frustration and betrayal by a brand I once trusted. PLEASE ENSURE TO CHECK THE TYPE OF OIL BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE. IF YOU PAID FOR FULL SYNTHETIC, VERIFY THAT YOU RECEIVED FULL SYNTHETIC, NOT THE LOWER GRADE OIL. This incident has not only led to concerns about the integrity of my vehicle's maintenance but also highlighted a profound lack of accountability and customer service from Mazda Walkers Dealership. It's disheartening to see such disregard for customer satisfaction and honesty in service delivery. I am not buying another car from this place. Bought my 1st Mazda here 5 years ago. Traded that in and leased a PHEV CX90 last month. Right from the starting this place seemed off this time. The sales guy asked me where did I stand in the process of decision making. I told him i am ready to buy but I wanted him to give me his best quote and I will think about it and come back if I like his quote. He told me his manager has told him to tell the customers that they should look up for prices online and work with online calculators before coming to the dealer and that I should be there if I am ready. I turned back and the guy started pulling the oh-I-was-joking card. I finally took the test ride, ran the numbers and wasn't able to make a decision since at the time of signing the lease the $7500 EV rebate was not yet announced so I was reluctant and was leaning on delaying. The sales guy consulted with his manager and assured me that i should be able to make that adjustment when Mazda passes on the rebate. They said they got nothing to keep and they would be able to happily pass it on. 4 weeks later Mazda announced the rebate. Now neither Mazda nor Walkers are standing by their word. I wish I had the same in writing. Definitely not reliable, not transparent and I am not coming back here. EVER. read more

Absolute worst car buying experience ever. Went to buy a used vehicle. Salesman was super unprofessional and smelled like alcohol. Requested that we send documents to his personal email address- not a dealership business address. Then after completing some paperwork said it was too late to get any finance options because the banks were closed. For the next two days had to constantly follow up and each time all he could say was "I'm working on it I'll get back to you." Then we finally got him on the phone and he tells us the vehicle we were looking at had been sold. I've bought cars from other dealerships and it's only taken a matter of hours before I was out the door with a vehicle. We dealt with them for over 2 consecutive days trying to close a deal, and the reason it took so long was entirely due to the salesman's delayed responses to all correspondence. If there was no deal to be made he should've just told us and not wasted all of our time. Easily the most unprofessional dealership or even business that I have ever dealt with. Called dealer about Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA) about getting my $5,000 I put as down payment on lease to help with financial needs of my family while heading out to deployment and said no without hesitation, not even asking general manager for assistance. I bought my car here several months ago in January and I loved it when I saw it however a couple months later I got a nail in my tire and I took it in to a tire place and they told me that these tires were not even right for this vehicle and that they played me by putting some jacked up tires on my car. Needless to say, I had to fork out more money for brand new tires for this car. Not only that when I signed the papers for my car, it needed a replacement part that would only take about five minutes to install. We sat in the waiting room while getting it installed for about two hours turns out it was just sitting there done for about one hour and 55 minutes yet no one came in to let me know it was done. It just sat there. I was given car wash coupons to compensate. I wouldn't buy here again. Who knows what else I got conned on. read more

If I couldn't give 0 stars I would!! Avoid buying a car from here, Scam dealership, worst one ever! First they messed up my car vin number and then tried to get mad like it was my fault on the paperwork. Took forever to fix. I had to call multiple times because everyone here had bad communication and wouldn't talk to me. Sold me a car with missing hardware and boot ripped out, when if they did a good inspection would have been found instead they said break pads looked new so they didn't inspect further. They are out here selling lemons and don't want to take responsibility. Took 2 weeks to get my car in the shop because they didn't want to help. My deductible was changed when I asked for it changed back they wouldn't help me till this day. I had extended warranty I added and they tried saying I didn't when they messed up the dates putting on paperwork and didn't want to cover my parts needed to be fixed when in contract first 60days Mazda needs to pickup. You don't get to pick and choose what is covered when it's in contract. They covered labor and said "that was helping me". Contact is contract cover the whole part like the contract says. This whole dealership is a scam and no one helps. Only had my car for less than 2 months and still no refund, deductible changed just keep getting same ring around. Nobody can give a simple apology or own up to their mistake. My whole car they didn't buff it out right and it has squiggle lines all over it, in the sun you can see it so bad all messed up. This is another issue out of the 5 but they won't cover it when they did it. they won't even communicate with me so therefore I have to pay money out my own pocket for someone else to fix it. read more

Kept forgetting key pieces of information, tried to sell me a car that had previously been a rental car with lots of bumps and bruises for a relatively new model (2023), and was genuinely just interested in making a sale at all costs. He even brought over 2 other associates after waiting off and on for over an hour to try and sell me on a car that wasn't even in the lot yet and was still in transit! They kept pressuring me to put down a deposit and sign some documents after I repeatedly told them I wasn't going to make a decision today. Awful sales tactics, awful environment, and awful management. And to the guy who responds to these reviews with some BS apology like every other post I don't even want to hear it. I just bought a black CX5 that is beyond beautiful. I've never had a car that feels so good to drive. I have slept better since I bought it because driving it is the only time I have true peace and quiet. It's a reward, secluded, detached from the world, without any loss in precision or grip on the road. It reminds me of the saying... "To the victor, go the spoils." I feel like I am driving a soldier.
