Everything we had to eat was great. Spin-dip was especially good. Service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

The front hostess was extremely rude on Nov 30th around 5pm. You know who you are. I didn't get a name. You are the first person a customer encounters when waking through the door, you and your attitude are much more important than you realise. I would never hire you at my company. I steer clear of such people. This place should do the same. We won't be returning completely bc if the first impression. read more

We went on a Saturday night and were pleased to see they had outdoor seating. Inside they had a pretty good live band, but it was loud and crowded. Outside was more conducive to conversation but beware, they allow smoking. We really enjoyed our cowboy nachos and moscow mules. Service was attentive and the food was reasonably priced. read more

I've been to Wally's twice now. Most recently on a Saturday night where they had live music (The Outtakes)...which makes everything better. They were busy, which I like to see, but not overloaded. I try to sit at the bar when available, I think you get better service there. Bartenders did a great job answering some of my questions and making delicious cocktails. They had a Martin City Brewing Co beer on tap that was great (Hard Way IPA). I'd love to see some of the more exotic Boulevard beers (Tropical Pale Ale, The Calling, Unfiltered IPA, Jam Band) on tap rather than the typical wheat, pale ale, and Tank 7. My wife ordered the patty melt with a house salad and loved it. It was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. Toasty rye bread and plenty of cheese. I had the firecracker chicken sandwich with a Caesar. Good sandwich but not great. The chicken is pounded too thin. The Caesar was good with garlic croutons, but I don't like the pre-shaved parmesan cheese. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu and supporting this local business in Lee's Summit. read more

Wally's Grill and Drafthouse is that little hidden gem everyone is looking for in a great hometown restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly, with servers and bartenders eager to make sure you want to return again and again. The bar is a nice, casual hangout with several tv's playing everyone's favorite sport, well-stocked shelves of whiskey, vodka, and other favorites. They have all of the standard go-to's for beer, along with many specialty brews on tap. The restaurant has recently expanded for more seating capacity, which includes a room for party rental and business dinners. Wally's is unique from other local restaurant pubs in that the restaurant feels nicely separated from the bar, so families can have dinner in the dining area and not feel as though they're sitting in a bar. The owners, Chris and Tammy Wollerman, were very thoughtful in their design and expansion for this very reason. They are always there, making sure operations are running smoothly and the food and drinks are made to perfection. Those two really are a cherished couple of local, homegrown, restaurateurs. Now, let's get to the food. THE FOOD! Their menu isn't huge, but that's how it should be, if you want it done well, isn't it? They have several different appetizers, but my faves are the Spin Dip, the unique Cowboy Nachos--loaded with pulled pork, cowboy beans, carmelized onions, and queso-blanco, and, whatever you do, don't pass up an opportunity to try Wallys Wings--they're not your average bony little wings you're used to at other places which shall remain nameless. They have burgers, yes, good ones you can build yourself, or just order a patty melt and discover it's your new favorite burger, but their prize truly lies in their double-soaked, buttermilk Cluckers chicken fingers. OML, they are like no other, so tender, with a light, crispy coating. It's everyone's favorite. They're served with famous Wallys fries which are seasoned with something that makes them so addictive, it's sorcery, I tell you. Beyond the Cluckers, you'll find fare like the Jive Turkey sandwich, The Porky pulled pork, Firecracker chicken, Shrimp Pesto Pasta, and Sausage Rigatoni. Their flatbreads, The Veg and The Goodfella, are tops for a light meal and pair well with one of those cold artisanal beers on tap. And if you're watching your beer belly, order their House Spinach Salad and try not to lay in bed at night asking yourself what makes their orange-balsamic vinaigrette so dang good! Ordered a burger - medium rare - got a well done burger -- they replaced it w rare (almost uncooked - ate half of it) :-( the sprouts were good / the server was nice Not sure the chef knows what the difference is rare to well done. The manager did check w me after I got the bill and decide not to charge me - that was nice but it does not change the prep of the burger -- twice. And the fact that I ate my meal in sections and only had half of the second burger. read more

Locally owned, food made from scratch, delicious mixed drinks as well as cold beer AND friendly staff makes Wally's the best place to eat in south Lees Summit. Everything is made in house and you can taste the difference! The house salad is spinach, feta and cranberries with house made vinaigrette and it's delicious! I've had the Cobb Salad, The Veg flatbread, the burger, The Big Dipper (French dip sandwich) and the veggie burger. They've all been fantastic. Wally's kids meals are $5 and include burgers, grilled chicken with green beans, mac&cheese and chicken tenders. All made from scratch. That's right, you're not going to pay for frozen chicken nuggets or boxed macaroni here. The owners are so friendly, greeting customers as they come in and thanking them when they leave. read more

I Love this place. Cowboy nachos, The Porky and blue cheese cole slaw are excellent. Salmon as an entree or sandwich. I love it all so far.

We went when it first opened and were underwhelmed. Tried again tonight and... WOW! Everything we had was delicious and perfectly cooked and poured. We started out with the spin dip... cleverly served in a mini cast iron skillet with tortilla chips. So yummy. For entrees, I had the Make Your Own Burger (cheddar, garlic aioli, avocado) with fries. Delicious! Hubby had the patty melt with fries... he was basically licking his fingers. Love having this yummy place in the neighborhood. We'll definitely be back! read more

What a gem of a place! Wally's hits every mark. They are a huge success already and they haven't even officially opened yet. Simply a great place for dinner, drinks or both. Overall this place is OK. I like that it's a local restaurant, we definitely more of that in Lee's Summit. It's a clean and modern place, a bit small but comfortable. I came in with a party of 5 and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was very nice, and offered my dad and grandparents samples of different beers. My grandparents shared a glass of Stella, my dad had his own glass of IPA. They all enjoyed their drinks; the glasses were chilled and the beers were cold. In terms of food, this place is pretty OK. I ordered a medium rare patty melt, my dad ordered the Porky, my mom ordered fish tacos and my grandparents shared a patty melt and salmon sandwich. The patty itself was delicious, but the bread wasn't doing anything for me. I would have rather had the patty on a brioche bun; the marble rye was falling apart and couldn't hold up the patty well. The flavor was good; the bacon-onion jam really made the burger for me. The fries could've been crispier, and they had little to no flavor. My dad enjoyed the Porky but was kind of sad because they forgot to put pickles on it. Overall he liked it, but would probably order something different next time. My grandparents enjoyed the salmon sandwich, although they thought it was a bit dry. My mom really enjoyed her fish tacos, which can either be an appetizer or entree. It comes with three tacos and plenty of fish within the shells. Overall, I give this place 3 1/2 stars. The service was nice, the food was decent. read more

Went to this place because of the multiple stars. When we walked in the place was bustling. Must be good! I hope everyone else's experience was better than ours. The service was super slow. It took forever to get a Coke and two waters. When our meals arrives the food was tepid. It must have been sitting on a counter somewhere. At the end of the meal the waitress dropped a knife on my hand. And the taste of the food was average at best. read more

Been looking for some good charred wings since Westside went outa business. So i called up to Wallys and the gentleman who i spoke to was very polite and helpful. They in fact do offer a charred wing as there menu choice, where the wing and drum are still connected for only $8 which is very reasonable along with celery and home made pickles. Next time i order them i might have them had some additional Buffalo sauce on the side. Ill be back. Keep up the good job. read more

I was in the area working and looked on yelp for a place to eat lunch. Wally's was geography perfect and their menu looked pretty good. We walked in and were greeted by "Wally" himself. He came across as a proud restaurant owner and a nice guy. I asked him what was good being how this was my first visit. He suggested the "Cluckers" fresh dipped chicken strips and fries. First time in since I'd change to Walllys. Will not ever be back. It was a very slow Sunday and my party was there for some drinks and dessert and we were basically kicked out due to having a good time when there was hardly in the bar. The bartender complained... probably due to the fact she was missing out on the tip. As a group. We are very nice and tip well. We were laughing and having a great time when the manager came over and said we need to be quiet. There was like 5 people in the whole joint. Lost out on our money and our business.
