I went to the another shop, one recommended to me for their integrity, who stated they would look for free and fix whatever they found. Turns out, there was no leak in the first place, and that the dripping had other explanations not requiring any expensive intervention. Chapel Hill Tire has lost my trust. Do not give these fearmongerers and scammers your business. Their shiny new interior is paid for by your dollars, once they scare you into paying for things you don't need. If anything, get a second opinion and a quote from another place.

I can only assume that a business that takes advantage of it's customers takes advantage of it's employees in whatever ways it can also. My specific case: I had a screw in my tire. It is a relatively new tire with plenty of tread left and the screw had planted itself between the tread, not in the sidewall. When I took it in just before closing the person working the counter said they could plug it for me no problem if I left it overnight, and wouldn't even charge me for it. "Too kind! Thank you" I said, thinking that is how you generate loyal customers. The next day I had a message saying that they couldn't repair the tire. I called them up and they said something about the angle of the puncture, it sounded half baked. The person on the phone didn't sound completely convinced themselves and like they had a script for the "Snap Financing" they should try to steer me towards to pay for two new tires (so they'd wear evenly). After politely declining to buy new tires from them they were willing to re-inflate my damaged one so I could drive away. when I took it to another local shop today they were able to plug it no problem. I even asked if there was anything unusual or any reason at all they might have suggested I get new tires. The guy who did fix it basically said "If I wanted you to spend $500 you didn't need to today I could have tried lying to you too." in actuality he just said "Nope, it was a simple plug." Two stars for friendly employees who hopefully find something better when this place hopefully goes under, like it deserves to in my estimation.

It was a busy day so I was in there for about 2 hours. From what I was told in my first visit, they operate on a first come first served basis. The wait wasn't an issue for me because it was semi expected. Although it's an auto shop, dirt & grease spots are expected; It's in need of a gooooood deep clean in the waiting area. The Staff seem kind. I didn't think to check my wipers before I left the lot but the next day when I did, it was still empty. That made me think if they did not top off the fluids did they do the oil change. I lifted the hood and to my surprise the coolant hose was not inside the reservoir. The oil had been changed thankfully but they were moving too fast. This could have went so far left if I did not lift the hood up in time! I surely don't want or need any issues with a car I've had only for a year.

They refused to replace the tire without charging me, because it looked like I had been driving on it for an extended period of time and the side wall was potentially damaged.. it was at most a couple of days. Then the rest of my tires were almost completely bald and I asked them to replace those as well, on account that the warranty for them was guaranteed to last 55,000 miles.. mine didn't even make it to half that. They said the warranty wouldn't apply because I didn't rotate my tires as much as they wouldn't liked and that's how my tires wore down that much. Again, an excuse. The best "deal" they could do for me was $10 off of two tires, which is nothing when the tires are almost $100 a piece. If they had gone by their own policy, I should've had all tires down for free OR at least gotten the prorated rate which isn't $10 off two tires. I ended up having them put my donut o for me and going to another shop and getting a full set of tires. They will never have business from my family or I ever again.

The lady who helped me on the phone was so sweet and calming. She got me exactly what I needed. Once I stopped by she remembered speaking with me and ensured I received what we spoke about. She had a very calming effect to what could have been a stressful situation. The price she' quoted me was much lower than where u was originally going to attend which is one of the reasons why I came here. They replaced my tire in a timely manner. But now the business is under new ownership and management and I must say that coming into the place was such a Delightful change of scenery. Upgrades and improvements abound and there is more to come with expanded seating in the customer waiting area and new touches to the decor. The wonderful Lady at the counter, Alicia, was very nice and accommodating. I went in to get my tire serviced because I had a slow leak the night before. I used fix a flat to get home from work but ,the gentleman who looked at my tire, discovered that the fix a flat had literally plugged the hole from inside (it tends to do that sometimes but I had to make sure). He gave me a complementary air pressure check for all four tires and charged me nothing for his service which I thought was very, very nice because he did put in a lot of effort to find any possible leaks and pressurize my tires. I thoroughly recommend this business because of the hospitality, the cleanliness, the obvious improvements and the quality of service.
