This is a huge shout out for Tracy Davis, the automotive service manager at Walmart in San Clemente! I had made an appointment for a full synthetic oil change, as I knew they could get very busy and wait times can be long. Upon arrival, I noticed many cars had lined up in front of the bays, however Tracy got my car going with her techs almost immediately! Not only did she touch base with me a few times while I waited, but we sat and enjoyed some conversation. This lady knows a lot about cars! Found that she'd worked on cars for years under her dad, and that she's also been an automotive manager a very long time. She kept the techs "on point", kept me apprised of the time frame, and really showed me what a true customer service person is all about! So glad I met this lady and hopefully when you go to get an oil change there (BTW, you should as it was a great price), and you'll have a chance to meet one of Walmart's finest! read more

I came here to quickly get my tire pressure looked at and left with a tire the same day! I pulled up to their team on my way to run errands and they quickly were able to review and help me with my tire pressure. Upon inspection I had a nail in my tire that couldn't be patched. David came to help me see if they had a tire in stock. When he confirmed, he offered to get me through the process same day! I was so impressed with the quality of service, care, and attention David gave to me and my situation. People in customer service, especially auto centers, who care like David cares about service are hard to find. I'll definitely be coming back for shy future car care needs! read more

Terrible experience here. I will never come to this auto center again. I called yesterday, spoke to a kind and patient manager, and I asked for an estimate over the phone, and was quoted $50-$60 out the door for one single almost new tire under warranty to be replaced. When I arrived, I was haggled, told I needed to purchase a more expensive tire with a higher install cost. Was told my tread was 50% worn. I haven't even been driving my car hardly at all because of an issue with the registration. I told them I had been quoted $50-60 out the door, which I explicitly asked for while previous day, and they said no ma'am, it's going to be $80-90. I told them I wanted to see him measure the tread because it seemed sketchy, and the manager told me with a nasty tone that was rude of me to even ask and they were going to deny me service. I had already been there an hour past my appointment time at this point and had been in tears for 20 minutes because I lost my job and money is extraordinarily tight. I left and went to Laguna Niguel where the folks have been kind and understanding, with zero upselling or rudeness. Within 10 minutes they quoted me $48 plus tax. Don't bother wasting your time at San Clemente. They are scammers. Update: laguna niguel completed the work in the amount of time it took me to write and post this :) read more

The Walmart automotive center in San Clemente has been really honest people... a guy named Davey tested our battery and alternator and told us we really didn't need one after being told by a quick oil change center, somewhere else, that we did need one. So in other words, he saved us money by just honestly testing it and telling us that it had enough cold cranking amps. There was a nice young lady with long brown hair inside, who also helped us and had to juggle 3 customers at a time, so theyre a little bit busy there, but it's worth the wait!! read more

Purchased on the Walmart App a great deal on tires for my truck. Best anywhere and no tire shops could match. I've had good a good experience in the past with this auto center but that was long before Covid. Made an appointment to get the tires installed on the new rims I had and then installed on the truck. Arrive at appointment and went to check in at the desk. A Walmart employee (Sumako?) was in the office behind the desk and on her phone. I waited for a bit and think she knew I was there but TikTok must have been more interesting. Finally got her attention and after she seemed annoyed I was interrupting her, she told me the mechanic was out and another was on his way. "How long?", I asked. Don't really know was the response. I told her I just wanted my tires to get them installed somewhere else. (Thank God. See my review of Holly's Tires). She said I had to talk to someone in the bay to get them. Went our and spoke to Mark, apparently not a mechanic but worked in the auto center. He asked Sumako to scan the tires so he could release the tires to me and she said she was busy and he had to call someone else. She then walked around all of the tires scanning them. Guess some inventory check was more important than checking out a customer. Fast forward. Mark pulled the tires off the rack, rolled them to me at the truck and off I went with my new tires. I was frantic on a Sunday when I found a nail in my tire and had plans to travel several hundred miles to see my son. Walmart was open and I was admittedly hesitant after reading low reviews. This place was a life saver and I'm convinced that people are quick to leave poor reviews to ease their aggravation however they don't always reach out to praise. Bought 4 tires online and had them delivered to Walmart on Pico. Made appointment for 10/10 2023 to install. Had donut tire on that the police had put on for me. Wait was long and I am tired and want to go home being a senior and disabled. Never checked if the donut was back which is the biggest mistake I made, 2 days ago I was going to take my car to the car wash something I do once a year because I can't afford it. Not only was the donut gone but the jack and anything else that was in there. I know it was there when the Irvine police changed my tire and Walmart Auto was the only one who touched my car since then. To replace would be about 400 dollars. Just want Walmart to know they have some thieves working for them. I was there on 10/10/23 and had four tires installed. Look it up. read more

Asked my wife to drive our SUV down to have the tires installed. She arrives and is greeted with a sarcastic comment about being an Asian woman from Daniel. After more attitude they installed the tires. The following day, at 5am I jumped on the freeway and made it one exit before extreme wobbles forced me to return the car back home. My wife returned to have the tires balanced and they argued with her saying the tires are fine. It took a call directly from me to get them to look at the balance issues. I picked it up later that day and had to return it again the following day! They didn't remove the old weights so none of the wheels would balance. Pure laziness and rudeness that walks the line me of racism. Bad employees delivered a bad experience that will cause us to shop elsewhere. Never Walmart Tires Again I bought a set of Goodyear Viva 3 tires for my son's car on 11/29/2019 (Black Friday) at the Walmart store in San Clemente, CA. The car has had mostly highway use (between Tempe and here). The tire was supposed to come with 60K warranty. They haven't lasted 22K and are at the end of their life. Looking online there were numerous consumer complaints about this special-for-Walmart Goodyear tire. I went back to the tire center with all the records (receipt, rotation and alignment records) that they requested. Instead of doing the right thing, they argued that the front ones had uneven wear -they were at pressure, just lousy tires-, and that the back ones still have a 'bit of life in them'. So essentially you have to bring back a tire that is worn to a dangerous level before Walmart/Goodyear will even consider honoring the warranty. This is class-action lawsuit material. I emailed the managers at the location as well as corporate. Nobody even had the courtesy to respond. Why provide a 60K warranty if a tire will only last 20~25K in ideal driving conditions? Goodyear has been sued for misleading advertising. Maybe both Walmart and Goodyear need another one. Absolutely despicable. Never Walmart tires again. read more

I will give 5 STARS to Ira. He is very friendly and a super-fast oil technician. Mark is very good as well. However, I will give zero stars to the rest of the Walmart staff. Walmart should make sure there is a cashier in the checkout department in the Auto Center. It is extremely annoying to be trapped there. Customers are unable to leave that area until they pay the bill. You can track down a clueless employee several times before you get any results. Believe me, I experienced this. So did the guy in front of me and behind me. The best and most entertaining part of my last experience will follow. There was a very large man laying on top of the glass binocular case near the auto area. He was very DRUNK! He was able to obtain his keys and drive away. He also made very inappropriate comments to me. I found it very strange that not one single Walmart employee noticed him. The Walmart staff that finally showed up were not amused when the big drunk guy spilled his full Starbucks all over the floor. read more

Always the same issue at this Wal-Mart TLE, extremely slow at intake, they have incompetent employees who know NOTHING about vehicles try to match specs to a book rather than knowing what they are doing. To top it off, they always try to steer you away from what you want, saying they don't have it etc. Then it takes them over 1.5 hours to do a basic oil change with no other cars in the bay (this has happened twice now). We had to wait 45 minutes for the manager, John, to come to sign off on the work. Then the cashier was confused cuz they had to wait so long for the manger and the screen timed out. I am frugal and opted to go to Walmart because it was $50 less for the two tires I needed. After waiting 3 hours with my dog (for the second time), they said they were unable to remove the lugnut b/c it was stuck and they did not want to force it. Jimmy's came out to greet me and put it in a service bay immediately. After all the waiting, I would have been better off going to Jimmys Tire Center from the beginning. Lesson learned. read more
