,I ran retail food and a service business for 25 years. The state of this company is very poor in terms of customer service. I have been to this store 4 times. The associates are unable to make eye contact and they scurry away when I ask for help. If I manage to trap them into helping me, I get a finger pointed and a department mentioned then they walk away. I go to customer service to get an associate willing to help. Two workers ignore a line of customers while one does all the work. Twice I have had to go to another store because the people in the electronics department were ill informed and unwilling to do the work to help me. In short the store customer policy appears to be "Blow Them Off." Dear Wall mart, I could walk into that store as a customer service manager and turn it around in one week. Unfortunately Wal Mart has desperate, hungry, under socialized, uncaring, unsympathetic, lazy,angry people who are completely without social skills. and are there simply to pass the time and earn that low wage. A good company hires educated, mature people and keeps them them in line by making sure they are well treated and aren't depressed and angry while working. A good company puts customers first. I love this Walmart. Associates are always friendly and helpful. I can pay my utility bill here as well.

This store gets super packed and sometimes there are not enough registers open and the lines get really long. I do however like the customer service and the way the store is set up. read more

Worst customer service ever! They are so inexpierenced and not willing to help at all! I called to get information and the lady who answered refused to give me her name! Finally she gave me her name... and then she told me she was the customer service manager!!! Way to lead by example! The cashiers are rude, customer service is rude, the only people who have ever helped me were the people stocking at night near closing time! Oh and the selection is pitiful. So two months ago i bought a watch from the jewelery department. They have a sign clearly posted saying they will size watches free upon purchase, so after spending $120+ the associate tells me only the department manager can size the watches and she will be in the next day, needles to say the next say i went in and suprise suprise they didn't have the resizing tools. So after two months and 10 visits later, all getting different excuses as to why my watch cant be sized, i decided to return it, but without the reciete i only recieved half what i originally payed for it. After showing my irritation about the false advertisment the sign is still up and the managers could care less. There is also the fact that me and my fiance come in this store every weekend ATLEAST for different things and without fail i get followed, stared at, and feel generally uncomfortable. Keep in mind i do have numerous tattoos, my hands and neck included, but i have never once in my life shoplifted. The profiling in this store is REDICULOUS and it makes me and her not want to come back. If they only want a certain customer base then they are doing there job because its making us not want to come here. All in all this store is HORRIBlE and i wouldn't recommend shoping here. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the numerous times i've purchased food iteams here that were grossly out dated. Would absolutely give 5-stars if they offered more grocery. Started with an extremely helpful pharmacist (did not get his name) but he came out to the aisles and helped me help a man with a toothache. He was compassionate and knowledgeable. Shopped around, store is neat and clean. Carts still ride like a dream! Don't underestimate nice, clean, fully-functioning shopping carts. Things were going well, then I encountered CYNDY "The Operator" who also oversaw the dressing rooms. While I was trying on stuff, Cyndy took a call from an out-of-town customer that couldn't find the store. She patiently and sweetly navigated this customer to Walmart (from Temecula). She was so nice the whole time too! I was looking for a specialty garment accessory and Cyndy walked down every aisle in the department until we found them. SCORE 10 POINTS FOR CYNDY and 4 points for this nice store. I did tell a customer service manager about Cyndy but I also wanted to tell others about the great service I received. Of course prices are great, it's Walmart, but it is really nice and I hope they can maintain the clean parking lot, etc. Only downer was a church group accosting people in the parking lot with flyers, and the lady in the white uniform out front collecting donations. read more

I was excited when they put this one in near my home but it hasn't helped me much because they are chronically out of everything I often buy, extension cords (for my electronics projects, my color hair dye, several kinds of plastic bins I like to buy, gel style superglue, kerosene lanterns, etc. I go in with my shopping list and time and again they don't have any of the most impt items that I specifically need from Walmart. I thought this place would save me time being closer, but in the end, I still have to go to the San Marcos location anyway. I even tried to special order some items (items they are SUPPOSED to have on the shelf anyway), and later I got a call on my cell directing me to go to other locations instead. However, most of the staff as this location do seem to try harder than the other locations to help, even if often they are in a situation where they can't. This location had some rude employees when they first opened but in recent months, I haven't seen any so maybe the managers have gotten rid of the worst ones. However, this place still has the usual Walmart problems like not enough staff on the floor, the ones they have looking harried and burnt out and so frazzled they can't think straight, and no one picks up the phone in the various departments due to the aforementioned work overload and too many customers asking for their attention. Therefore, as with other Walmarts, prepare to wait forever on the phone if you are calling even with a simple question as they transfer you from dept to dept, all of which will either not pick up or put you on hold again and never get back and you'll get to repeat the same question over and over and over again and maybe STILL not ever find out the answer, because sometimes you'll get mysteriously disconnected instead! (OK, haven't gotten disconnected at this location but happened numerous times at other locations) read more

the only positive comment i can say about this walmart, it's near by and "convenient." otherwise, the customer service's sucks and on top of that they don't maintain stocking the sales floor therefore, i rather drive an extra mile to san marcos. like the management at san marcos 98% better. :) read more

I've been holding back on writing a review for this walmart but I can't anymore today I went not to walmart but for redbox to checkout the movies I go to park and an older employee gathering carts goes right in front of me and puts all the carts where I was planning to park then he starts talking to himself pretty mad I heard him say something like "dammit now I have to move these so they can park" the customer service is just horrible hands down read more

We were excited to go to the new walmart but came out upset and disappointed. Ok inside but customer service was horrible. I went to self check out and asked for price check. It took 15 minutes and she has no idea what to do and didn't think outside the box so I asked her if she can get someone else to help her. She eventually did. Then I went to regular check out because it seems like the self check out always needed assistance so I tried to avoid that. The lady on regular check out wasn't smiling, didn't even acknowledge us just rang our items and she stocked it up on top of where the circular bags were. She didn't even put our items on the bags. So I started doing it myself, feeling soooooooo rushed because she started ringing the other person behind me and I was getting confused which items were mine. I had my toddler with me so I didn't make a fuss. All in all was very disappointed and probably won't shop there if I can avoid it. I was hoping to make this walmart my shopping place but NOT! I am always tempted to shop at Wal-Mart but now I remember why I do not. This store in particular is very poorly run. We stopped in for some camping supplies on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was a zoo. Merchandise piled in shopping carts strewn throughout the store, possibly from returns, made it difficult to navigate an already crowded store. The camping section was stocked haphazardly with what little stock on hand randomly scattered across the merchandise pegs. None of the merchandise was tagged with prices and none of the price tags on the shelf matched the product found there. We literally had to rummage through piles of stuff to find what we wanted and then had to try and match the numbers on the bar codes to the right price tag on the shelves because the descriptions on the price tags were nonspecific like "LED lantern" although there were 3 different led lanterns and only one price tag that even mentions a lantern. A lot of stuff was out of stock. The flashlight we bought didn't work when we got home so we tried to return it the next day. Walmart opens at 6 but you can't return anything until 7. So we had to wait for an hour while the place is fricken open and employees are milling about because? So if you like being frustrated while shopping in a rummage sale gone wrong atmosphere with the worst customer service, shop here. If not, stick to Amazon. read more

The Pharmacy here is TERRIBLE!! I have had so many issues with them since they started filling my family's prescriptions. They nvr have anything in stock they pretty much tell you to find out if your Rx is covered by your insurance because I believe they are either too lazy or just don't want to do it! Today was the icing went in to pick up meds for my husband he was informed they had been ready for pick up. I gave his information the associate says nothing has been filled. I said yes there is, she said maybe not here asks me to go over to the other window they would be able to tell me which other Walmart it may be at. This other associate clearly finds that my husbands meds are filled at this Walmart!! So basically the associate was just an incompetent idiot!!!!!! I will be taking my family's prescriptions elsewhere, which I'm sure they could careless because they having plenty of other patients/customers that may have no choice but to stay with this poor excuse of a pharmacy. read more

To give this establishment a 1 is too high. If I could give them a 0, I would. Every time I go into this store you have to wait and wait and wait for someone to help you. When I go in before 8 a.m., there is only 1 register open and it is the farthest from the exit. The self-serve registers are never open. On Friday, February 27, I went to this facility at 6:30 in the morning. I needed to purchase a memory stick for a camera I had purchased at the same store earlier in the week. (I should have been told then that I needed a memory stick.) I waited for 25 minutes before someone finally came with the key to open the memory cards. Everyone kept calling for Romeo but Romeo did not come (maybe he was somewhere with Juliet). I went early so I could get in and out and get to work early. If I had not wanted to use the camera that day in my classroom, I would have left. I do not go to this Walmart if I can avoid it. When it was announced that Walmart was going to have a store in Escondido, I was delighted. Now I feel that I get better service from a vacant lot than I ever do at Escondido WalMart. I have complained about their service (actually the lack of it) since the doors opened for the first time. I thought that with time things would get better, but they have not. I hope someone wakes up and starts to make things better. read more
