Horrible experience!! If I could give 0 stars I would- As we all know Walmart keeps makeup and nail products locked up, and the cashiers assist you with items as you need it. I am aware it is due to a theft problem. But to assume and treat everyone as though we are going to steal is wrong. As I am shopping for items I was followed through the isles by their cashier. She approached me more then 3x asking if I needed anything else after I told her I would let her know if I did.. then as I asked her for a nail product she takes it to the register. Which is fine I didn't think much of it.. but then I'm looking at different products in different isles , and shes in every isle fiddling and pretending to fix things as she stares at me.. how uncomfortable! I couldn't even shop with out her breathing down my neck. Not everyone is out to steal makeup or a $5 nail file. Calm down and train your staff to focus on guest service vs acting Iike security guards and harassing your customers! This is a peculiar Walmart. The lighting is very gray toned, dim and dare I say depressing. It literally looks and feel like a work warehouse. This is a smaller Walmart. They don't have the large selection and option other locations have. I literally could not find any of the specific items on my shopping list in this store. I felt like it was a waste of time even going. There was only ONE line open with a cashier while there was a line of people waiting for self checkout. I guess this store is ok if you're in a pinch but if you're not, you'd be better off going to a larger Walmart in San Marcos or Poway. I seriously doubt I'll go back to this location. read more

They have no idea what a street date for toys is. Held all the Pixar cars 3 toys off the floor. May 1st arrived and all the toys still hidden in the back. Manager not available. Customer service person calls you manager up front even though he is on break. After 5 minutes they say he is not coming up he is on break. Ask for assistant warehouse manager to come up. I bought a car battery a year ago from here and brought it back recently because it was dead. They batteries themselves are a Walmart brand (Everstart) and have Walmart stickers on them saying to bring back to Walmart along with the date of purchase stickers. When I brought this in to the customer service (which was a long wait considering I was the only one in line), they said they needed a receipt. I didn't have one not that it should have matter because it a Walmart battery with a warranty that was only a year into its 5 year warranty. They just stood there asking what I wanted to do instead of giving be an alternate course of action. Obviously, I wanted to exchange the battery. I had to go out of my way to find information on how to proceed with their store policies because the person who actually worked there was completely ignorant of what to do. read more

Very Disappointed.... I spoke to Ricardo the Manager at this location regarding a missing bag. (merchandise did not make it home). ( 1 bottle of conditioner, deodorant and a bottle of Fabrees) He was very polite and stated he would review the camera footage and would call me back in a day or two and that he would "make it good regardless" After 1 week I had not heard back so I called and ask to speak with Ricardo. I was informed that Ricardo reviewed the footage, did not see a bag left behind and therefore he could do nothing. I will NEVER shop at this Walmart again. It is the fact that I was lied to and that the Manager could not be bothered with calling me as he stated he would. Very Poor Customer Service ! read more

People amaze me with the high expectations they have of Wal*mart. It is a new store, it is a small store, their hours kinda suck, they don´t carry all the stuff other Wal*mart´s do... Now is all this the associates fault? NO! I went in there looking for a specific item made by babycakes. They didn't have it at this store, so the kind sales associate (wish I could remember her name) called a couple of other stores for me to see if they had it. No where to be found, but I was so happy she went the extra mile to help me out. Their associates are always helpful, at least they are with me.I I love that this one, unlike other WalMart super centers, is not packed. I can always find a parking spot. Which is nice that they split the two Wal*Marts and it's also nice that they are pretty close in distance. Read up on this particular Wal*Mart. I read that the reason why they don't carry some items is because the city of Escondido didn't let them. I guess it was some sort of deal they made with the city so they don't take business away from other local stores. I do hope that the "big guys" decide to keep it open for longer hours, but I do appreciate that they extended the hours when the grocery store opened. read more

Workers are SO helpful. My boyfriend and I came in 30minutes before close and we were pretty tired from our day. I actually like this Walmart since not a lot of people seem to know where it is making it a bit more difficult to get to or maybe people don't like the product selection and they can stay away for all I care. I refuse to shop at walmart now that my husband no longer works for the company. If I do it's online. I did come to this walmart for Black Friday and the employees had no direction. We were standing in line for the ps4 and we had multiple employees say stand here, stand over their, noo stand here! It was annoying! Also we found out there was only 4 ps4, we bought two. What pissed us more off is that they were not selling the system at a Black Friday discount rate and they still made us stand in line the whole entire day! If that's the case those should have been sold off the shelf. Let's go on... Do you know how annoying it is for employees to just stand around customers and talk amongst themselves about there lives and how work sucks? It's annoying! So I took a snap shot of the employees on there phones and standing in a circle at the register. Very brilliant guys! Not to mention one of those employees could have been in the bathroom cleaning their toilets! I went into the restroom and found urine on the seat! Yeah, gross! Let's say I had to hold myself because I hate a dirty restrooms or shall I say I hate seeing it looking dirty! The other day I placed an order for a cd that was out of stock every where! But walmart.com had it! So I had it shipped to the store. I opened the packaging and the cover of the cd was broken so I stopped a girl wearing all black with a name tag in and I asked if she was a manager? The girl response was pssssh NO and laughed and continued to walk away from me! Oh my! She's lucky I didn't ask for her name! This is the worst store I've ever been too. I made a $17 purchase and tried paying with my debit card, it was declined. So i paid cash with a $20 bill and recieved change. I grabbed both receipts where it noted my card was declined. And didn't receive a receipt for the cash. So i decided to keep the receipts just incase the money was taken from my account. Come to find out the money did get pulled from my account. Which btw is not the first time this happens at the same store. (I tried paying for some gift cards on Christmas w/ my credit card and it got declined so i tried my debit card and it also got declined. Both of my cards were charged so i disputed those transactions.) It's been almost a month and 2 visits and 2 phone calls. And i was told i didn't put any cash into the self check out machine which i know for a fact i did plus i have witnesses, so i didn't get my money back. Anyways at the end of the day it wasn't more about the money it was more about the principal and the fact that it was the second time it happened in less than a year at the same location. I waited 15 mins in the sporting good Dept trying to find someone to make me a key and nobody showed up or could be found in the aisles. I had to call Walmart on my cell phone and tell their operator to send the manager to the Dept I as waiting in. Then he was completely useless and unable to help me make a key. He had to call someone to come make the key who was equally useless however she at least made the key. Unfortunately upon trying the key in my car in the parking lot, it didn't work. So I had to go back in and return it which took 35 mins because they only had 1 person working returns with a line of 10 people waiting. It is a typical Walmart - when we need to frequent a Walmart we do so at night based on my work schedule. So, this review may be a little skewed because we go around 11:00PM or 12:00AM. The staff has been friendly, so no fault there and we have most often come out getting everything we need. The only downside to this Walmart is there grocery section - it is extremely limited and on the 'light' side, which means I have to make a second trip to an actual grocery store. read more

The Caucasian woman named Debbie, who 'assisted' me with a return needs to be fired. She spoke about me to another employee (supposedly the manager on duty) as if I were stupid, as I was standing right there. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. There was no care/compassion or a sense that either Debbie or her manager were trying to help or understand my situation. I will not be shopping at this walmart again. From the terrible structure of the parking, to the horrible customer service to the false store hours (open at 6 am but cannot self check-out until 7am....and since they always manage to bag poorly or send me home without all items, it's my only reasonable option), this particular store is a nightmare. I try to avoid it at all costs, however, every now and then I find that I need to go here in a pinch. I always leave with higher blood pressure. This is the stupidest store I have ever gone to. I am 25 years old and I went to the store with my boyfriend who also is 25 years old to buy wine and some food. Upon getting to the register my boyfriend realizes he doesn't have his wallet and I'm like whatever no big deal I'll get it. So I hand my card to the incompetent teenage cashier who tells me he needs to see all parties ID... and I'm like well he doesn't have it. And he informs me that he can't sell me the liquor despite the fact that I am the one purchasing the liquor with my California ID because my boyfriend who doesn't look like some goddamn teen doesn't have his wallet. So I'm annoyed and say whatever. Tell my boyfriend to wait for me outside and go grab another bottle of wine and head to a different line. Like if he's not with me this shouldn't be a problem. I'm in a line with a cashier moving so slow you would question if she is fucking in need of assistance or just doesn't give a shit about the line forming. But I wait with my items in hand annoyed but ready to just get my stuff and head out. I get to the front and she tells me she needs two IDs for it... the shit cashier I first encountered "informed" her that I needed y and she inquired about other members of my party. And I'm like they're gone ... like what the hell am I going through all this for at a god damn Walmart. Like I understand the intent which is to stop underaged drinking but this wasn't the case and I'll honestly never set foot i this place again. I already hated Walmart and decided to go because it was the closest and most convenient so I had thought. I'm honestly mad I didn't knock over and break the 4L bottle of wine and inconvenience them the way they had inconvenienced me. Then we get a second unofficial cashier who never turns her light on but does help until the line is down. I am giving three starts for the cashier because she was friendly and efficient but I didn't catch her name...it's 9am Monday morning on 9/24 and she is the only cashier actually on a register so if anyone actually reads these please give her a gold star or something. This company is too big to skimp on cashier staff...every time I come here I am reminded why I don't like Walmart. Staff your store properly...put one of the two employees (who were chit chatting in the Halloween aisle and never moved so I gave up on that aisle) on a register. The store is cool and has a lot of items to pick from. It's neat and clean. The only thing that sucks is the check out part, it took me 35 minutes to just to check out. I tried to look for other lines but every line that was open either had many people in line or cashiers waiting for manager approvals. Self checkout registers had only 1 of 6 registers for cash payments, all others were credit cards only. Not efficient for day after xmas sale business. There was only 1 register out of at least 10 that was open. There were 15 customers waiting in line. No employee at jewelry counter. Had someone page for employee to come to counter. 15 mins later an employee showed up. I was very discouraged for the long wait. When cashiers call for assistance at their registers, it takes suoervisors at keadt 10 mins to come to cadhuers register. Meanwhile, customers have to contunue to wait in line because there are so few regusters open. All of the above could be fixed if there was a dedicated suoervisor for the cash register areas only. read more

I have mixed feelings about this WalMart. I have only been shopping here for seven months. Too often, the grocery section is very messy, and often it seems they are out of things I need. The employees are always helpful. It is very convenient now that we have this one and the other one near the 99 cent store. But I still prefer the San Marcos location as there is a better selection there. For instance, two weeks ago I couldn't find any swim trunks my size in the men's department, so I went to Target instead. I also bought a wart-remover kit, and it didn't work, but that's not necessarily WalMart's fault. And I often see people with signs asking for hand outs, which makes me want to avoid it. However I appreciate how WalMart does provide jobs for many different people in the community. read more

Drove several miles to our "local" Walmart in Escondido, CA to buy cloths for my children. The store closes at 11:00 P.M. but we were very upset to be told that the fitting room closes and SEVEN P.M., FOUR hours before the store closes. Their only explanation is that the decision to do this "came down from corporate". Now if the cloths don't fit we are forced to drive BACK the several miles from Valley Center to this store to stand in line for AT LEAST 20 minutes to return them. As life long Walmart customers and Walmart stock holders for the last ten years we find this to be EXTREMELY POOR customer service. This decision demonstrates callous disregard for the convenience of customers ESPECIALLY during the Christmas season. Its bad enough that Walmart no longer decorates the stores for Christmas or plays Christmas music which would put customers in the mood to shop longer and buy more at Walmart. This idiotic decision will actually make them ANGRY as it has us. WHO sells cloths without letting you try them on or has LIMITED hours on their fitting rooms? Just ASININE. read more
