The Vienna Sausage of Wal*Marts. Didn't go in expecting much, but I was looking for a specific product ( A special enzyme that breaks down cat urine from carpet and carpet padding..). Not only did I find the product that I was looking for, they had different brands at different price points. If it's popular stuff that your looking for, they got it. It could be crap shoot to find specific, hard to find items. When you look at this place, it's brilliantly designed. The demographics of this area of town don't travel far from home, and don't care about how many gourmet ice creams they sell. Basics at basic pricing. - The Parking lot uses solar panels to shade cars from the sun. - There do sell some groceries in this location, even though a Walmart grocery is across the street. read more

Worst customer service!! They treat you like a thief and are very disrespectful. Went into the makeup section and it was closed off because they said it closes at 9pm, however they don't have to give you attitude when talking to customers they can tell you nicely that the makeup section isn't open. The lady was behind the register in the makeup section being rude when we encountered her. When walking out I get that they have to check your receipts, but there was an old man at the enterance making me and my mother uncomfortable looking us up and down as if we stole something. This store has some nice employees, but I feel more terrible, unhappy looking rude employees. It's so funny to go there On the weekend , to see only one cashier open , the line is so long , or go to self check out , where they only take cc no cash , and there employees are just watching there phone . I have been coming to this walmart since they first had there Grand opening. It all starts when you walk in and Scotty AKA SANTA CLAUSE greets you he is by far my favorite person in the store and yes he's got the Santa beard to match it ,but the managers in this location are amazing such as BOB he really takes the time to listen to the community and has always been helpful for my family and I and I can't forget about my favorite cashier Rochelle she the sweetest lady you will ever meet and always has a smile on her Face .on that note i would like to say to all the staff at this location thank you very much for working during these ruff times were having during covid 19 you are all truly amazing . read more

Was a long shot getting a receipt from a purchase from Dec 2017. I needed it cause the battery to my Grave Digger Ride-On truck melted.(For Warranty) I spent two days calling customer service. I finally went to the store, and the store manager Ricardo, was the man that dug through paperwork and pulled the rabbit out the hat, finding the receipt. Awesome job Ricardo. Went to exchange a pair of pants. Had to wait in the customer service line for a godawful amount of time because there was only one employee servicing the line. When I got to the counter she was incredibly nice, apologized for the wait, and offered to hold the pair of pants while I looked for another in a different size. Great! I went in search of the different size but couldn't find it, so I figured I'd try a different pair. I'd just have to try them on. Found a pair, went to the fitting room. And waited. No one was there. As I was waiting, a customer informed me that they were closed. Apparently he had been waiting for a room for a while before being informed by other customers that they were closed. There was NO signage that the fitting rooms as a whole were closed. Some stalls had "closed" signs on them but I figured it was only for late-night theft management. You know, close half the fitting rooms so that it'd be easier to monitor what was going in and what was coming out. It was only 9 pm. So I decided to just take the pair I found because I figured they'd fit, and I really needed a new pair of pants, and I headed back to the customer service area. All the lights were turned off. Thankfully, the woman who had helped me earlier was still there and helped me as her last customer of the night. If I had shopped any longer I do wonder if I would have been screwed over, since she had my pair of pants and I didn't have the receipt for them. All in all, this location is incredibly unorganized, understocked (love how they always have size 0-2 and 10-14 pants, 5-6 and 10-12 ladies shoes), and full of employees that are just overworked and tired because the store is understaffed and, again, unorganized. For a multimillion dollar corporation, you'd think it'd be better run, but my local thrift store is easier to navigate and more organized, so I think I'll stick with them. And their fitting rooms are always open. read more

We had a bad experience at this walmart. We just needed a simple price check and it took them 25 minutes. Line didn't move for 25 minutes. Cynthia the cashier was nice and apologetic, but everyone in the line was getting impatient. I'm sorry but it shouldn't take 25m to find someone. - Where was the manager to help to keep the line moving? - Why was another line not opened up to offset the wait? - And where in the world were the price-check people? I was looking for a new electronic purchase and couldn't find what i was looking for. I asked a worker in the electronic section to help me find the product. His name is Erick. Immediately after he opened his mouth I could smell alcohol. His behavior then continued to support my assumption as he started to act in a in appropriate and out of conduct behavior. Rather then helping me find the product I was looking for, he went rambling on about his past (very inappropriate) and started making jokes that I did not find pleasing. Not to mention he kept talking about his personal life and never helped me find what I was looking for. After realizing how unprofessional and tipsy he was, I walked away and left the store completely because I felt very anxious and annoyed. I hope no one else encounters him. I hate this Wal-Mart. ..the customer service needs some serious adjustments and the associates (a bunch of little kids if you ask me, who probably never had a job before this) do not have any kind of "can do" "can I help you?" attitudes. No one ever has offered help.Also its been about 3 out of the five times I been there, that I have Wal-Mart employees staring me down and in one instance have been followed around a few aisles, as if I'm up to no good or about to steal something. Clean, neat, well stocked, and with surprisingly clean facilities. However, the selection here is very limited; this is in everything from foodstuffs to toiletries. It is like a mini super Walmart, not a super super Walmart. I probably would go here maybe once per month for toiletries and specific items but grocery shop elsewhere. read more

This Wal Mart is new. It's located behind Home Depot. When you drive to it you can tell it's smaller than most Wal Marts. I wasn't impressed with it being new. People complain about bad service here, but I think ALL Wal Marts have bad customer service. It's such a different atmosphere compared to Target. When I'm at target, I can stay forever there. Here, I am like, let's get out of here ASAP. I'm from valley center so it's closer to me than target. I have been to many a Wal- Mart. In general it is my favorite one stop shop (most neighborhoods have a supermarket or at least dried goods inside nowadays.) My issue with this store, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Can't get help when you need it. Few to no checkers in the morning (you must go through self checkout even if you have a cart full). Need something, got the wrong size, noticed it's open when you are checking out...forget getting someone called to help you. You can go and see if there is an appropriate replacement yourself if you want it. Bottom line, it's nice to have a Walmart so close, but I wish it had adequate customer service. read more

Yes, Escondido was in need of a Walmart for many years now, but as to why they chose to build a store in the most ghetto-rampant-ganged up area is anyone's guess. And by the way, there are some very nice areas of this city. So it's a known fact that the city wouldn't let them build a super-center store because of a distance ordinance held by neighboring grocery stores. Okay fine. But why even build it there in the first place? "Yes, let's build a dinky store, and in a few months we'll be opening a second dinky store with groceries." Even though this store does carry some groceries, it's not worth the time or effort to do actual grocery food shopping here. There were and are so many empty lots/fields/etc in Escondido that this store could have been built. My personal saying is "don't build unless you're gonna go all out." Sadly, I guess what's done is done. Forget about trying to find an employee on the salesfloor. It's a ghost town in there. It just lacks the merchandise that the larger stores carry. Not convenient at all. And with most, if not all Walmarts, good luck on getting a fast checkout. Only 2 cashiers working, and the store has a total of 10 registers with about 6 or 7 self-checkouts. I'll give it a little credit though. It's beautifully constructed on the exterior, and very clean and welcoming on the inside. Overall though, bring pretty doesn't cut it. With the lack of size and product, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Yes, it's a walmart, so for all of you haters of mass produced goods, move on to the next review. I didn't even know this walmart existed until I accidentally drove past it when I made a wrong turn. This walmart is smaller than others, probably because it isn't a super center like it's sister in San Marcos. Because of it's compact size, and obscure location, this walmart is not crowded. The lines are short, and you can actually navigate through the isles with your cart. They carry some groceries, but the selection is limited. There is also a drive thru pharmacy, and most of the parking lot offers covered parking with energy saving solar panels on top. If you are in need of a full grocery run, there is a walmart nightborhood market directly accross the street from this locaiton that focuses on groceries vs. other products. read more

Made an online purchase of a tv. Was visiting family for thanksgiving so made pickup date a couple days later when we were back in town. Woke up the morning of pickup and started prepping the area for the new tv and was genuinely excited. Just before we were going to head in and pick it up, received a message saying my order was cancelled because the item was out of stock??!! Specifically chose this Walmart because they had it listed as in stock in day of purchase. Funds were pulled from my account, I would assume the item would have been set aside for my pickup date. Not the case. I think the thing that stings the most, is the item is available in San Marcos but didn't get the option to go pickup from their before they cancelled my order. Second is now I also have to wait 7 business days before I am refunded ? There were no issues on my end for the transaction, the money was pulled immediately, but when It is reversed I have to wait 7 days? Just does not seem fair and in my opinion is a bad business practice and poor customer service. My wife still wants to go in and get that TV because it was the best priced for the quality of tv, but I am a little bitter and am going to spend a little more money and purchase from a place that will not put me through this. read more

This Walmart is extremely disappointing. They rarely restock items. If you'd purchased something here on your first visit, don't assume that you will see it the next time you need to re-up.
