This is Walmart so what can I say besides... this is walmart haha This is a busy shopping plaza and there is plenty of parking but not quiet enough during busy times. Be prepared to park in spots that are farther away or not where you expected to park. This location is 2 floors with mostly home & electronics on the top floor and everything else on the bottom floor. There are a lot of different departments in the store but since there are so many departments they are all either an okay size or a little smaller. I generally leave without getting everything on my list but can get most. The prices are good, fairly cheap but you also always pay for what you get at Walmart and the quality is pretty low. I like to get some of the kids clothes from here because they grow out so quickly or are so rough that I don't really care if it isn't good quality. Every time I go to Walmart I always say I feel bad for the stereotypes around Walmart and the people who shop there but then I go and I remember why I try to stay away from Walmart. It seems that Walmart does not bring out the best of people. Overall, it is just Walmart. Get what you need and get out. read more

This store is the absolute worst! It is extremely dirty and the "greeters" are so rude. They have these ridiculous "rules" they enforce like you can't bring in another stores cart, they illegally detain you when you are leaving by demanding a receipt, and they don't allow you to walk through with a backpack. Ultimately regardless of your opinions, the organization is terrible and supports terrible policy. It's a normal Walmart as far as I can tell. Nothing exceptional, although I do prefer the neighboring Target myself. Prices are relatively low, as the norm for the store. Do note that there tend to be few cashiers relative to self-checkout options. So if you require a cashier, the wait may be a little longer than other places. read more

After my fine dining experience at the BK I decided to do some fine shopping. I had a very specific shopping list and of course I didn't follow it. Typical for stores like Walmart and target. As I was walking through the men's section someone who was hidden in a clothing rack reached out and grabbed my ankle. Now I normally crave human contact but not tonight. I made a complaint with a manager and she said "that's part of the shopping experience sir" Now I just got a job and needed to find enough white polos to fill a wardrobe. Unfortunately they only had one in stock (the employee wouldn't check in the back she said "this is walmart what you see is what you get. ) Was able to get everything else that was on and not on my list. This walmart is not what it used to be . I haven't been here in over a year and a lot has changed! I came in to return a dog cage valued $70 it was given as a gift but it was too big! They wouldn't refund without a receipt or even store credit with my ID even though it says on their "store policy" we are able to. There limit was $50 ...because the Apparently the manager at this location makes their own policy According to one of the managers i spoke to here and i asked To see the policy they said they didn't have it written down . We went to self check out to purchase our items And they were all closed but four , When we went Towards a self check out to use We were Told it was closed even after a customer just finished using it ... So we waited for another one . After we were done with our Transaction The one self checkout we were told not to use was being used by someone else and they weren't told anything . I felt like we were being Discriminated against. As a manager myself I would have never Treated A customer this way and would have made sure The customer Was taken care of. This is a pretty nice Walmart located in the Grossmont Mall. I came here to pick up a bunch of tortilla chips for an event at my work the next day. I picked up 6 bags of Sarita's Tortillas Chips for $2.00 each. Prices are fantastic, produce is all good looking. Strawberries are huge and sweet, oranges are plump and fragrant, Roma tomatoes are 25 cents a lb. this is unheard of. JOSE offered excellent customer service and went above and beyond! He patiently listened to my needs/concerns and answered my many questions. Jose went out of his way to download apps on his own phone to make sure I got the best microwave. He checked the prices, showed me the reviews and explained which would be the best for me. He was very knowledgeable about kitchen items and bedding supplies (offered expert advice on ways to get a better nights sleep too). Jose explained the different fabrics and gave great suggestions on which would be the right ones for me. I'm very happy with the new microwave and the bedding I purchased. I don't shop at Walmart, but after such great service I'll definitely come back to this location! *The customer service department, the assistant managers and staff were also courteous, efficient and helpful. read more

We recently bought a small item (less than $10) and accidentally left it in the basket or at the store. We called and explained what happened and were told to go talk with customer service. We drove back to the store, 20 minute drive, and then waited in line for 10 minutes to talk with a customer service representative, who was unfriendly and who treated us lIke she was doing a favor by assisting us. She made a call and came back and said we would need to speak with the store manager and needed to wait. We waited for more than 20 minutes to speak with the store manager's representative, who did not even have the courtesy to tell us his name or title, and who then proceeded to tell us they looked at a tape and that we walked out of the store with the item and can do nothing. No apology for being unable to help us, instead just an attitude of oh well, we don't need your business. We are upper middle class who will never set foot in another Walmart store and we will encourage all of our friends and aqauantiances to shop elsewhere. All in all, the store has staff who do not care about customers. Go shop elsewhere! I could NOT GET ANY HELP here even thought I went running around the store asking employees to help me get a AA battery charger. I called corporate and they were less helpful just kept asking me to do the work instead of calling the store. This is one of the Walmart's that I go to pickup ammo because it's cheap and they usually have what I need. So this Walmart has 2 levels which is cool but at the same time it's a little confusing but you just have to read the signs and you'll be alright. Seeing how the ammo is on the second level and is next to the electronics and movies I usually buy some old classic movies that I love. Some of the movies that I have bought here are "Coming to America", "What about Bob ?" and Uncle Buck which is a straight up Classic. I've never had a problem with the employees and the ones I have dealt with are always friendly and helpful. I feel that Walmart may hire people who may not get hired at other places so because of that I'm fine with Walmart. So to me this Walmart is A-ok oh also it seems like this Walmart may have items that some other Walmarts will not have. read more

Purchased a couple of items, from Walmart, and tried to return them, with the original receipts. To fill up my car with gas now, is $85.00 per tank. Imagine my shock, when a "coach"(I am not even sure what that is), as I asked to speak to the store manager) informs me, that it is TOO late, to do a return, because the Customer service desk is closed, for the day, which means I must waste gas, and make a second trip. Oddly, the store is open, for 4 more hours, and NO customer service........ I called the Corporate office customer service, to complain, and was told, that Store #05140 closes customer service, and she will elevate my concerns about the poor service I received at this store. Walmart used to be my favorite store. Now, I believe.it is time, to start shopping at Target, or Kohl's, or any other store, that cares about their customers. This is just sad. It's not always a great idea to do something even though you have the right. In certain circumstances, store employees are justified in holding you until the police arrive. Known as the Shopkeeper's Privilege, the store employee can stop you from leaving if they believe that you shoplifted. What's more, you could be barred from the premises or lose your membership card if you fail to comply. Despite that, it is worth knowing your rights in these situations. While there's nothing stopping a door greeter from asking you to comply, your rights could be violated if they try and forcibly keep you from leaving. read more

Just spent close to $200 dollars at this location just to be accused of stealing. Then told by a manager yeah we have to protect ourselves from thiefs. That was their response I was somehow profiled as a thief at this location. I came here for 1 battery. I assumed they'd be upstairs in electronics, but the escalator was broken. 1 of 2 of the elevators was in service and took forever to work. Upon getting to the second level, I looked for a bit on my own and passed an employee who was hollering for another employee. She looked like she'd seen some things, so I avoided her. However, I ended up having to ask her where the batteries were since I couldn't find anyone else. Apparently this was a bad thing to do since she very rudely told me they were down in self check out as if I should know this by the introductory pamphlet and map she must have assumed I was handed upon entering the store. Well there are 2 self checkouts in the store, and I assumed it was the larger of the 2 at the east entrance. I was too afraid to ask for clarification since she was clearly having a bad morning. I didn't want her to murder me and hide my body. It would have taken at least 5 days for anyone to locate me, since I'm pretty sure only 3 people work here. I went back down in the elevator and went to the east self checkout where there were no batteries. I went back to the front of the store where the smaller self checkout is, and still no batteries. I'm pretty sure I'd have more success spotting a snow leopard in the wild than an actual employee in this store since I had to wander a bit more to find another employee. She proceeded to tell me they were in self checkout again because they are locked up. She told me to go to a regular checkout to get help. I go to the regular checkout, and the cashier tells me the batteries are locked up in self checkout and that she can't help me but the host in the area can. I go to the host at the smaller self checkout who tells me that the lady with the key is in the garden center (which is on the complete other end of the store) and that I'd have to "wait a few minutes". At this point, I'm practically in tears because I really need this battery to get my alarm at work to stop beeping. I imagined I was on an episode of What Would You Do? I kept waiting for hidden cameras and then for praise for not exploding into a fireball. But it didn't happen. Finally I was handed the battery. I completely understand the harm that criminals are causing to big box stores and the need to take preventative measures by locking things up. But if you're going to lock things up, then you need to have employees who aren't trained by bridge trolls available and willing to help. I'm a patient person, but this was rough. No wonder people are so on edge these days. It's madness out there. I'll be sticking to shopping on amazon away from human beings. read more

Walmart might not be the place to get the best customer service but on this day the customer service rep that helped me was extremely pleasant to deal with. I was here for the Black Friday deal for the straight talk iPhone SE deal for $49. As soon as I walked to the electronic section I was greeted by a pleasant worker with such a big smile and asked if I needed help. I definitely did I told her that I was here for the Black Friday deal for the iPhone SE. She quickly got the attention of activation personnel and asked her to help me. I thought that was very nice of her because a lot of times when I go to Walmart the employees just kind of ignore you. This visit was off to a pleasant start and then he got even better with the phone representative. She was very helpful and she pointed me in the right direction as far as prepaid plans. She told me all the benefits of each plan and let me decide without any pressure. What a pleasant way to purchase a phone at Walmart. Two entrances on opposite ends of what was once likely a department store is super weird. The Redbox is on the side closest to the mall FYI! We wanted to rent a movie that was only available at this Walmart so we made the trek over only to figure out too late that we parked by the wrong entrance. I made my way all the way to the other end of the store to retrieve my movie and then walked all the way back to exit. It's an odd layout..I suppose it was Sears in its older days. That's the vibe I got from the layout..in any case, the parking situation is difficult and if you're used to the way all other Walmart interiors are laid out you will be very lost when you enter this location! They could use maps at the two entrances to help people figure out where they need to go to get what they need. read more

Prior to my interaction with Rhonda in the electronic department, I had no complaints. I patiently waited for her to decide she was done talking to this guy and ready to start checking people out, I had been clearly standing there right in front of the register when she turned all way around and proceeded to ask another person if they were ready to check out? I was shocked , does she NOT see the me. Whatever I will let it go. She checks him out and I am standing right behind him (well with 6 feet distance). He's done and then the guy she was originally showing something to says he's ready and he walks right in front of me and she takes his item! At this point, I should have just left but instead I stated I've been waiting! Rhonda says, I know but I'm helping them first!! Wow!! I called the store and asked if they do price matches to the products on the Walmart website, the lady on the phone said they do, after going there to purchase the item they told me they could not price match it because the item on their website is not in store. I told him I called earlier and explained to them what the lady told me and they told me she wasn't properly trained and didn't tell me the exact rules. Why hire people you can't properly train? Especially when it's to price match something on YOUR website that is in store! I asked someone upstairs where another item was, and she literally shrugged and told me she wasn't sure, and that it was her first day working there, sounds like someone needs to start training their employees better.
