This location is probably my most personal frequently visited one because it's the closest to home. Sometimes I go here after doing my errands at my storage unit (The Lock Up). This one is also conveniently located my all the other shopping areas especially by Pearl Highlands. It's interesting to see that they have built another McDonalds nearby since Walmart already has on inside the store. The parking lot is beastly huge. There should always be parking and you should find one everytime whether close or near. What surprises me sometimes is that sometimes you'll see Walmart having stuff that you won't expect to see. Like this one time I find some Goldilocks pastries on sale and I was tripping out. They always have some sort of sale or special by the food section. The McDonalds inside is pretty cool. Where ever I go, if there is a Walmart I'll be sure to go there. This Walmart in pearl city is convenient for me. Positives: Near, a lot of parking, cheap/reasonable priced goods, open 24 hours, good pharmacy, items fairly organized, CLEAN Negatives: Wagons are worn/need new ones, quality of some goods are terrible, items on ads are usually gone, What I realized from visiting the various walmarts on Oahu, not all goods are the same price at all walmarts. A box of cookies in Mililani Walmart will be .75 more than the same box in pearl city. Could it be gas charge? Probably but I think its geographical pricing. Walmart always seems to have what I need. I like to buy make up here because it tends to run lower than other drug stores. I wish they had the NYX brand though. I like to also buy my scrubs from Walmart but this one has a smaller section compared to the Kapolei one. However this Walmart has a lot of registers opened compared to the others. The customer service here is horrible when you call their main line. I called to check for sweet ginger garlic seasoning from simply asia company. The lady on the other line transferred me to the food department. I was put on hold. The same lady answered and tried to transferred to food department again. No one picked up. The lady from earlier picked up the line and tried to transfer the call to food department again. Someone picked up. He said he will check for me so he put me on hold. The lady who transferred my call three times picked up and said hello several times. I said yes i called about the spice. And then I heard a click on the other end. She hanged up on me. WTF?????? Are you serious?? You hanged up on me when I was put on hold by another worker. These workers aren't trained in customer service and some of them have a deep Filipino accent that I can't understand. They seriously need to hire better qualified workers who are trained to serve the general public. Then again, the workers at Wal-Mart hate their jobs. As long as they are getting paid, they don't give a s*** about the customers and pretend to care. I see some of the workers have grumpy faces or conversing with their co workers during work hours. I like this Walmart because they have carts with items that are marked off for clearance for cheap! Nothing wrong with the items either. I got Zataran's dirty rice for $0.50 and it wasn't expired or smashed. It can be crowded even at night and people seem to use the self check out here more than the Kapolei one so lines can be long. I do like that there are more manned registers open here than the Kapolei location. Shelves are usually well stocked and the store is clean. read more

WMT Kunia has a bad setup for Checking out customers at the Locked up Health & Beauty aids. I asked Rebecca if she worked in the Locked up area. She said Yes and got me my items that were Locked up. Then Rebecca said to bring it down to the Garden shop check out which had a mile Long Line. No, I'm not going to Wait In that Long line. I said Let me see your Mgr. Rebecca said Go ahead-- defiant person. Don't have social skills as a clerk. Needs to be Retrained . So I saw the Asst Mgr Rodilynn who took her time coming out to talk to me. Front end person had to call her 2x. She said Rebecca didn't have access to Run the register. I told her she needs to Assign a clerk over in the Locked up area. She said that she'll assign somebody? Poor Mgmt skills in assigning checkouts. I'm not going back to that Locked area again unless I see someone at the Locked Up register. read more

I love this Walmart. Way less crowded than the one in town and I find the parking lot way less stressful. I also love that shoppers tend to park in THEIR OWN STALL, not mine, at this one (unlike the town one). I love that on rainy days, the lady who is usually greeting people and handing out stickers to the kiddos is wiping the carts down. No, seriously. She's there with a rag wiping the wet carts down. *yay* for going the extra mile. Everything has moved around in the past couple of months, as with every big box store. Lots of parking, but I find that people are always walking in the middle of the road back to their cars being inconsiderate of the car behind them. I only come to this Walmart because of its location. I can go here on my way home from work. I'd rather go to the one in Kunia. Less busy! I don't expect much from the workers at this Walmart either. I found that they downsized their scrapbooking materials and moved it from the craft area to the birthday supply isle. Register restarted itself as the receipt paper was being refilled. Waited 5 minutes before a MOD came to say she would reprint the receipt. Took another 10 minutes for her to come back with the receipt. REALLY WALMART?!?! Is this how you treat your customers?! I get that you're a big box store and the guy spending $100 doesn't matter all that much when 1,000's come in spending 100's everyday. But this is just ridiculous. Not to mention the MOD had such a "great" personality. At least the kid at the register was cool. He kept apologizing, tried to be concerned about us waiting. Maybe he should be supervisor. It took just as long to exit the store after I paid for my stuff as it did for me to shop for my things. It was a quick trip, however waiting 3 minutes to exit the store just for random checks on Receipts is crazy. If this is the new anti-theft measures great, just have 2 checkers . The line to leave was back up to the self check out and also back to the furthest register. They were ringing people up faster than people could leave the store. read more

So this Grandma lady hurt her back lifting and still gotta move house. I needed tables for the new place, and asked staff member Garciano if I could get help lifting and having the tables placed in my car. Shock! Garciano stopped what he was doing, told me he would get help and be right back. Garciano returned with Randall, another staff person to help me lift and to my car. Both staff members were all smiles, absolutely professional, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable, I was stunned. Sadly I have become accustomed to the "No can " attitude experienced in many retail outlets nowadays, and I did not expect anyone to help me. Just thought I would ask before wrenching my back out some more. Wow, surprise me. This location has an abundant of Micronesian customers while i was there.. Micronesian Mart. Went shopping for natural almonds prepacked 100 calorie packs. Shelf was empty, walked around the store. I will start this by saying I prefer Target to Walmart ANYDAY/EVERYDAY. I work nights and it's one of the only stores open. This particular store is one of the most run down looking. I've been in twice in the past week to purchase The Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino's 4 pack. They say $4.98. I look at my receipt and was charged $5.68, oh well my bad for not checking. Purchasing them again tonight the same thing, says $4.98 but charges $5.68! So I take her ALL the way back to show her and she says oh no that's only the vanilla and coffee?? I've been buying these things for years and NEVER have the flavors had different prices. My point being the advertise one price and charge another !! Located above Sam's Club and Pearl Highlands Shopping Center, Walmart is like the other stores on island. Staff are helpful if you can find them on the sales floor. Most workers are so rude and aren't helpful by just standing there talking to coworkers or stocking shelves and avoiding eye contact or attempting to look for your item you asked for and "can't find it." WOW! I've recently visited this area Walmart, and I must express the excitement I feel, over my experience. When I first heard the expressions Ohana and Aloha spirit, I assumed that this feeling was shown, shared and extended wherever I went on the island. I was seriously disillusioned for some time. One evening by chance, I happened by the Pearl City Walmart. Needless to say, I was so impressed, I just had to return to this store. The very next day, I did just that. All my initial expectations were not only met, but exceeded by leaps and bounds. The store is clean, well stocked, organized with very professional, informative staff. All my questions were answered and my concerns/needs satisfactorily met. I was offered and provided with assistance without needing to ask. I would go in the late hours, and I don't know if people are just cranky or what but most times I would get a dirty look when I'd try to ask for help. And no, I'm not rude lol. Because it's so late at night, they have their palettes out to restock the shelves. That can sometimes make shopping rather difficult, but heeey, they gotta do what they have to do. Probably my third favorite Walmart. Mililani is first and then Honolulu (only because Honolulu has a WAAAYY bigger selection)... but Pearl City gets the job done. If I'm in the area I'll come to this Walmart if I need something. There's always a lot of parking even though this place is ALWAYS busy... I mean geez is there ever ANY downtime here?! I dunno... staff is okay (the ones I've come across) and they have the same products as other locations but I feel like this one isn't big enough. I think they should've made it a little bigger because everything seems so freakin close together! The lines are always long and it's warm in this location... I do like the selection of scrubs here and at the Honolulu location... that's about it! This walmart is in a great location next to all the different restaurants & shops. I always find everything I need here for a cheap price plus tons of impulse buying too. They have an optical shop & **new** Grocery section! They do lack in the arts & craft especially fabric area but everything else is pretty good. But, there self check out here was very efficient, great job having so many available check stands, very easy to get in and out.. My friend and I drove all the way here from town on a Sunday night to pickup an online order, only to be told that the Pick-Up department closed at 8pm. I was bummed, thinking I wasted a trip and would have to drive all the way out again the next day. However, Matthew in Photo (he was the one helping us), took pity on me and looked for my item anyway. The Pick-Up department turned out to be locked but he kindly asked someone to open it so he could get my item and I wouldn't have to drive out again. Really excellent customer service from Matthew and I appreciate it very much. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I didn't shop around so can't comment on other aspects of the store, such as merchandise and cashiers. I hardly ever visit the PC walmart but when I do, its usually a better experience than the Kunia location. The parking lot is WAY easier than the Kunia location. Inside, the store appears to be larger. It wasnt too busy. What I notice is that they seem to have more items than things they sell at the Kunia location. The cash register didnt have any long lines at all. Everything was clean. The bathrooms near the entrance are currently under construction but luckily they have another set of restrooms in the back by the electronics section. read more

*PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE GOING* Save your time and DO NOT go here. My husband popped his tire on base. We drove to Walmart to get a wrench. There was a big and small one. We didn't know which one to get, so we got both. When she was ringing us up we asked if they are returnable. (We would return the one that didn't use) She said yes. (This was Friday 16th, 1:10am) The next day Saturday (12:40pm) We went back to return the new one we didn't use. We gave the lady our receipt and she said we couldn't return it because the worker scanned it wrong. She scanned the little one twice. So basically we couldn't return the bigger one. FIRST? HOW IS THIS OUR FAULT? I told her, "I specifically asked her if it was returnable. It's not our fault YOUR coworker made a mistake. You can check the security cameras. Y'all need to do your job better." She got a bad attitude with me and said "that's not my problem. Whatever you and your husband wants to do? That's your damn business. So find the receipt or I can't return it." SO HOW THE HELL WOULD I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR A WRONG ITEM SCAN? THE ONLY RECEIPT I HAVE IS THE ONE SHE GAVE ME. They need to do their job better and pay attention!!! After everything, she ended up giving me a gift card as an exchange for the wrench (same cost), because she knew damn well that wasn't my problem. These people are rude as hell, need to do their job better, treat their customers better when it's not their fault that they didn't do their job right. I only go here because my medication gets filled at the pharmacy, plus it's closer to home. I prefer the Kunia or Mililani location. Those are the best walmarts on the island. It's such a shame that the state of Hawaii actually banned Walmart from becoming an actual "super center" because of our local stores. Honestly, Walmart groceries and meats in the mainland is way cheaper. I'd rather shop mainland if that means I'll save a couple hundred every year. Buying local is to expensive. Anything thing about this location is the shelves are always empty. Something as simple as shampoo. Every single time I come in to get my shampoo it's always not in stock. So I need to buy the next best thing. Also the isles are so small. The mail isles are crowed. It first so frustrating pulling over to let people go or pass. Suggestion Walmart remove the products in your main isles and shopping will be more comfortable. Update 5/1/18 I no longer get my medication filled here I got to Safeway in ewa beach.
