This trash location falls below the average Walmart store. Employee laziness and the average checkout line length exceeds reason, especially in the so-called "Speedy Checkout" line, which isn't manned. It's what you expect at Walmart, except other locations occasionally surprise with competent employees, working registers, or products actually in the aisle labelled for that product. On the plus side, at least this location is better than the store on Broadway in Chula Vista. This one is pretty much always busy, so if you don't like shopping while a bunch of people who seem to just be roaming around for the fun of it, skip this Wal-Mart. Get here early to avoid the crowds as best as possible. I've definitely been to cleaner Wal-Marts that are better stocked and actually have enough cashiers to keep the lines moving. Very rude staff at the self checkout. I got into the self checkout line because id rather handle and pack my things myself. They stationed me to the machine closest to the lady and i started scanning my items and another self checkout lady came up to me " teaching me how to scan my things properly and saying they're watching me, and saying that its obvious i don't have 20 items or less" and i was confused, i had no idea self checkout was only for 20 items or less?? and then she comes back later reminding me the same thing saying that its a warning, and i was like what??? you guys put me here on the machine, if you had a problem from the beginning you should have told me to go to the regular checkout... rude lady, i tried explaining to her it was a mistake and then she interrupted saying it was a warning, not "harrassment", everything she said could have been in a nicer tone and not scandalous infront of other people. read more

The store is not well stocked when it comes to groceries, although the arts and crafts supplies are always a great deal, and during christmastime they have some really fantastic deals and it's always easy to get something for everyone there, since their variety of items is so vast. read more

The auto center sucks. They're LAZY. Every time I bring my car to get an oil change, I ask for a tire rotation as well and every time the tire rotation does not get done. When asked why it didn't get done, I always get lame ass excuses like "oh they probably forgot." No, it's busy and you're lazy. Rude employees are just icing on the cake to the horrible experience you'll have here. Now, if you like being around rude, inconsiderate people who like to park their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle and then walk away and then get pissy when you move their cart, this is the place for you. If you like standing in line for 45 minutes no matter how much or how little you're buying, this is the place for you. If you enjoy hearing "no habla Ingles" when you ask an employee for help, this is the place for you. This is, of course, assuming that you found the employee who takes the time out of his/her valuable conversation with a fellow employee to actually acknowledge your presence. If you love parking your car only to come out and find it surrounded by empty carts, this is the place for you. Assess to Carrollton store, this area is wack! The lines are oh so extremely lengthy!!!!! Theyre often out of stock and the area is just create definitely odd. I still go-to this location as it is the closest, but for the absolute most part, I would rather save money on Publix down the road for the lines and where shopping, really is a pleasure. i tried to return a movie...unopened...that i paid for with my debit card...was told store credit only....when its clearly a walmart purchase....and.. did i mention...i used my debit card...which they can just credit it back to. This Walmart is one I would avoid if possible. It is one of the countries busiest Walmart and that is the honest truth. The employees have an extremely hard time keeping up with servicing the customers. Its almost impossible to even push a cart around some of the aisle without someone running you over. The shelves often look similar to a TJ Max store on a Saturday. If you live by or really need something that is out of stock in another store than I suggest calling before going to make sure it is in stock. The prices are right and I have got several things in this store that other stores didn't stock so sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do..go! Out of all the Walmarts in the South Bay community, this one is by the worst. It's not because it's not opened 24 hours, but the fact that the organization here is strange. I went to the electronics area, and someone decided to place a barrel of make up for $3. At the cleaning household area, a big barrel of assorted candies for 98 cents. People bring their dogs and cats in here. The grocery aisles are tiny and narrow, it is hard to navigate with people around you--let alone shopping carts. Finally, self-check out lanes are glitchy and sensitive. "Unidentified item in bagging area. Remove this item, etc." Kept getting this error message every time. I had someone help me, but they told me that they have to do a "store log-in". But i couldnt pay, and i had to call assistance. The lady had to put her pass code again. Then i couldnt get my receipt, and the lady at Walmart, admitted that she hates these machines too. read more

This Wal-Mart have the worst costumer service ever. Every time I need assistance, there is nobody around. Today, it took me roughly 20 minutes to find anyone that works there and another 23 minutes to find out the lady that I asked for assistance lied to me. I asked her about a particular item and she replied "wait in said area. I'll ask my manager anout it." I waited 23 minutes and nobody, so I gave up and left. I went to check out my items at the self check out and as I was waiting in line, the man before me told me to go ahead and went back inside the store with a cart full of playdough. I realized the items he scanned weren't cancelled so I went ahead and cancelled them. The case got mad at me for cancelling the items and even yelled at me for cancelling them. Everyone, their grand parents, their unsupervised children, their cousins and in-laws and neighbors all pile into ONE vehicle and travel in packs around this Walmart. They travel in huge groups, blocking aisles and won't move no matter how many times or in whatever language you ask them to do so. The only time I will ever to this Walmart, is during the day, during the week. I will drive to Eastlake and use that Walmart as a preference. The other, close Walmart on Broadway is just as bad as this one. I think the Border traffic has a lot to do with it, but this one is a nightmare. One of the worst Wal-Marts I've been in to shop. The only reason I go into this location is to buy something I really need and don't have time to drive to Eastlake. The parking lot is always dirty with trash and the customer service is always horrible. At one time, I tried to ask a passing clerk for some assistance and she said that she does not understand english in spanish so she can avoid helping me. My wife is a Senior Citizen and uses a Walker. She entered the Walmart store through the Garden Dept. door because it was the closest entry from where she parked the car. She was there to buy a $100 Walmart gift card. She was the fifth person in line from the cashier. When it was her turn, she asked the cashier for a $100 gift card. The woman cashier informed her that the gift cards were across the store at the other cashiers stations and that she didn't have any at her cash register. My wife asked if it was possible to contact a cashier who had the gift cards and have one brought over to her station. The cashier said that she couldn't do that. Of course, If I was there with my wife I would have walked across the store myself and obtained one and would have requested a manager to suggest they keep gift cards with all the cashiers and/or had a way to get one to her station, especially for the physically challenged and Seniors. If it was I who couldn't obtained the gift card without walking across the entire store and once again, waiting in line, Walmart would have lost that sale of $100 plus a customer to their competitor. On 2/27/16, I went to the Dennery Walmart to return a flat screen TV. The return process was handled very poorly by the customer service rep. She asked me to take the TV back to the TV department to get it checked out because it was "too heavy". The TV department then called the return desk to give the OK. Then I had to wheel the TV back to the front return desk. Even the TV guy said all she had to do was call to have someone come up to check it so the customer didn't have to do all the footwork. She also kept bringing up that the TV was bought at the Encinitas store. They happened to be the only one that had it. I wasn't about to drive 40 miles away when you can go to any location for returns. I got the refund but yikes! read more

Months ago they did quite a remodel to the store to make it more attractive to upscale shoppers. I can understand the thinking behind it, draw in the people that have money. But hey, it's still Walmart. Putting lipstick on a pig does not make it a beauty queen. The remodel made for a better looking store but in making more room they got rid of a number of basic items that I go there to purchase. And overall the stock is skimpy, instead of 10 bottles of what ever there are 3 or 4. I heard a lot of customers complaining about the same issues I had. Recently they have done some adjusting and added back some of the items they dropped but not all. And I find the new lay out confusing and difficult to navigate. When I go to Walmart I want to get in and out as quickly as possible. And recently they seldom open the express check out lines. Last time I was there I spent over 10 minutes in line for 3 items. I end up buying more at the Von's down the way because it is not worth my time to go to Walmart for the amount of savings. read more

Had an oil change at this Walmart. Had oil change here many times before. However, this last one was different. Few days after I got my oil change, my car was vibrating noticeably. I told my cousin, a mechanic, who changed my spark plugs not long ago about this. He doesn't do oil change, but does other engine works on the car. He doubted it was the spark plugs, which I suggested because it had the same feeling when I needed my spark plugs changed. When he opened it, he showed me it was not the same one. I know it's not because I bought the spark plugs that he installed. The ones in my car, after the oil change, was the basic ones that was changed out for an aftermarket parts. Oil change was the last thing I had done in my car. Anything before I can't remember, other than the spark plug change. I watched my cousin install the new spark plugs, and other things he did. So to see the similar parts in my car that was taken not long ago was upsetting. Also, one of them was rusting. read more

Zero stars. This tire lube express is the WORST. They took my car for an oil change, told me it'd take 2.5-3 hrs for oil change, then, 3.5 hrs later, told me they couldn't change my oil bc they apparently didn't have the right "tool" for my car???? I have a Mini Cooper - it's not a freaking Ferrari or Lambo or something. That special "tool" is called a screwdriver. I've gotten my oil changed at numerous other run of the mill places - jiffy lube, big o tires, econo lube n tube - no one ever indicated a special "tool" was required. These guys obviously didn't know what they were doing. AND, my car was running funny afterwards - I need to go take it somewhere else to make sure they didn't mess anything up. What a total and utter waste of 4 hours. They didn't even have the courtesy to give me a call to tell me not to waste my time - I had to go to them and inquire about wherever my car was ready, THEN they told me "oh yeah, we can't do the oil change." I could have taken it down the street in half the time and actually gotten something done. BE WARNED. SAVE YOURSELF. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I go to this Walmart sometimes because it's close to my house. What sucks is the parking which is crowded, dirty, carts everywhere. Your best bet is to get there early when it won't be as crowded and there's a decent stock of items. You have to be a good driver so you can dodge other bad drivers there. The inside of the store is crowded as well, the bathrooms are dirty, screaming kids everywhere, kids running loose in the store lacking supervision, and the isles are getting smaller in some areas for some reason like the shampoo/ hairspray isle. You may be able to get assistance should you need it if you speak Spanish. I've been to nicer Walmarts up north where there's always a good stock and even the bathrooms are immaculate. The worst part of it all is that I was willing to put up with all that because I was and still am on a budget and the prices were pretty reasonable. Now many of their items are getting expensive. I rarely go there now, I'd rather go to Vons or other stores I used to not shop at in the past because I can get a better deal there or prices are about the same and there's less chaos too. read more
