Ordered my birthday cake here and was pleasantly surprised. They said they would pretty much do anything as long as they had an inspo picture, the guy helping me out was very nice and helpful. He took the inspo pics and small notes of details I wanted on the cake. This cake costed me about $30 which is so affordable compared to what a higher end bakery would have charged me. The cake itself had whipped frosting and strawberry filling and it was nice and moist and fluffy. Wasn't overly sweet, just right. I do with the writing in the cake would have been a little nice though. That has to be my only complaint. Other than that, decent cake for a decent price! read more

Firstly please note this is a Walmart grocery store. Not a full Walmart most people envision. As a grocery store it compares favorably compared to any other. They do run out of stock, they do not stock "everything", the staff is not very helpful and that is just like every other grocery store in Simi Valley that I have ever shopped. It is clean, nice looking, well organized with great signage to guide you to what you want. If you went to Walmart to save some money you get that too. Lots of low priced choices, mostly Walmart's own brand. All in all every grocery store has similar problems, especially with staff, but Walmart has a good selection and great prices so worth giving it a try. read more

Until Wegman's expands to California (which is never going to happen), I arm quite content to be home working and let my sweet husband do the grocery shopping. One of my quirks is that I like to shop where there's character and even charm, even when food is involved. This Walmart Neighborhood Market is clean and well-stocked, but lacking in the charm element, for sure. It's utilitarian. Dear Hubby were in the shopping center where this market lives to go to JoAnn's. He wanted to check it out as there were a few items he was planning to get at ALDI, and he wanted to compare prices and quality. We didn't spend a lot of time, so I can't really speak about the produce section, butcher shop, or bakery items. We were there on a weekday afternoon, and it wasn't crowded at all. Friday of March 8 2024 around 12:27:44 specifically At Tapo Neighborhood Walmart just recently, me and my girl were attended by an employee at the cashier by a guy named Kenneth tall guy with long hair with an undercut and piercings, at first glance nothing was wrong until he started looking at me directly in my eyes like he wanted to fight, clenching his jaws looking at my girl with a smirk at that point I don't know what is going then he tries to have a small talk with my girl but he was almost whispering but I heard what he said so I repeated it for him to tell my girl then goes and stares at me again like he had an attitude to fight just because I helped him clear out what he was talking about and he seemed not pleased about it and looked at me again as if he wanted to fight ( just crazy) then as my girl was finishing up her transaction he decides to pull out his phone ( INFRONT OF US ) WHILE HE WAS WORKING with his customers and was leaning on the cash machine (LIKE WE WERE NOT THERE) my girl had tried to ask him if the transaction was done BUT (HE WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION AGAIN ) failed to answer and continued to act as if he wasn't even on the clock to work and continued again with his kiddish like attitude and wouldn't hear my girl out so I had to speak up my self for him to get our attention and stares at me ( AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME) with a huge attitude like he wanted to fight at that point my girl got worried and (she actually thought he was in drugs while on the clock of working or something) , me and my girl had different transactions and so when it was my time to be helped out he just kept looking at me like he had some type of personal problem towards me and I asked him are you good? U ok? then answered looking at me ( like he wanted to fight the whole time) with an attitude "yea" we also had to remind him about the water bottles if he had scanned them because of the lack of awareness, we would've walked out there with free water bottles ( but of course it was payed for after reminding him ) and at that point I was just already ready to leave, I don't usually do report towards Walmart but even my girl said how can they hire workers like this? a person that is not very attentive towards the customers and very unprofessional with pulling out his phone scrolling on his social media infront of us and acting like he wants to fight and make trouble with Walmart's loyal customers? and to top it all off acting like he's in some type of drugs to act that way, I think you guys should reconsider hiring people that act like they don't want to work v.s towards the ones that do want to work and be physically, mentally be present at times of service. just crazy and unprofessional to behave that way. I will also report it to the manager after this review because me and my girl definitely wouldn't want to have another unpleasant confrontation with a cashier that should be serving with a smile and an example of professionalism. read more

There's one pharmacist named Carlos that goes above and beyond to help the customers, he's very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.he will go out of his way to get the customers what they need and as soon as they need it. I do not recommend delivery or be ready not to get all your items. I usually pick up in Ca while I have my food delivered when in NV. Decided to try delivery in CA. I decide to go out to meet delivery person since Walmart substituted 4 gallons of water to 15 33 oz waters. Delivery person shows up with my bags in the back seat and on the floor amongst trash, child toys, cloths, etc surprising filthy and a child playin on iPad in back seat. My items were all over the place under the seat as I had water. When it was all said and done I didn't have any of my frozen foods but didn't notice before getting inside because we had to dig my 15 waters from under the seat. I guess she and her kids got breakfast and dinner out of this delivery. Unfortunately after reading some of the reviews, i'd have to agree on how the store is lacking in customer service and generally as a whole store it could do a lot better. I understand that everybody needs a job but the people that they hire just don't seem to care. As soon as you walk in there it's almost depressing. It really makes you just not want to go shop there anymore but since the prices are so cheap people are forced to go. There's a Ralph's and a Vons up the road but we all know that those are more pricey in products so you're forced to go to the only store that makes you feel uncomfortable for shopping there. Came here get what I needed, it is always in stock in and out theres a person on the outside counting the people coming in and they always are cleaning the scan and go was fast, the only thing I think the person that is scanning and going after the person checks out they should clean the area for safety purposes, they are constantly cleaning the carts, so it really felt safe, I haven't seen that much cleaning at other stores. read more

I do the bulk of my grocery shopping here! Don't knock it until you try it- while this Walmart only sells groceries, it has some quality items and brands. They keep the Lunchables stocked (staple in my kids' diet!) and plenty of fresh produce. I also enjoy their bakery, deli, and the rotisserie chickens. It's close, and cheap... but almost not worth it anymore. The shelves (fresh foods) are always empty. Holiday items generally sell out pretty quick (example: this store has been out of corned beef and cabbage BOTH-3 days before St Patty's.... ) most stores order more NOT LESS, and reduce the price the day after the holiday. I almost hesitate to say this, but the floor staff seems to act like the customers are in their space (walking in front of a customer, or just not acknowledging their presence when stocking..... small things), and makes it for not the easiest shopping experience. read more

It's great to have a Walmart food store around, but the price isn't that competitive though. The freshly baked bread is a Steal and they taste so good. I highly recommend the bakery! I have no complain except ONE THING. There are parking spaces outside for "Energy Efficient" vehicles but most of the time I see cars parked there that are Non Hybrid, meaning they are just regular gasoline vehicles!! Obviously those people are cheating on the parking spots. I hope those people don't have children, otherwise it's a real bad examples to teach their kids. I will take pictures every time when I see these people cheating on the parking spots reserved for Energy Efficient vehicles until people become aware of the fact that they are cheating. Never in my life have I ever received something I ordered online at Walmart in a manner like this. The pics do not give it true justice-the pics actually make the package look better bc the tape cannot clearly be seen splattered all over the box. First of all, this was a Christmas gift- (I say was bc I received it today and sending it back today) why during this time of season would a company send out orders in the original box? I Guess no one has enough brain cells to think that this might be a Christmas gift so it should be inside of another box so the intended recipient cannot see it, and also to protect the box.; this should not have been sent out to a customer to begin with...but I forget I'm referring to Walmart. It appears to me that this was a previous Walmart return that an employee splattered tape all over the dented, torn, broken, debilitated box and mailed it out. When the box is moved it rattles and screws roam throughout the box; I didn't even open the box. Walmart is now on my list of companies I am not purchasing from. 0 is my review. I was a customer here until 8/27/2020 when I made a purchase walked outside and was sprayed by an unknown chemical in the eye,face and right side of the body. I requested to know what I was sprayed with and advised the employee he should be careful of what he is spraying so close to the exit. After walking away running my eye I decide to inform the manager so I could obtain the hazardous materials in relations to the chemical. An employee by the name of Arnie asked what my issue was I informed him and requested a manager. He then slammed a bottle of water on the counter telling me I could wash my eye out with that. The lack of compassion and knowledge how to deal with this situation was not in his job classification and I agin requested a manager. The manager Hugo was not much more help. He couldn't tell me what the chemical was and could not help defuse the situation as his one employee was speaking under his breathe with an aggressive tone. I at that point spoke up and asked Hugo how he was allowing his staff to be speaking and how I was being treated as I committed a crime when again I only needed the name of the chemical burning my eye that they sprayed on me. Hugo walked away while his employee Arnie was still speaking and talking rudely to me while again seeking the information on what I was sprayed with. Hugo returned at which time I requested him to again gave Arnie removed from the situation as he was making it far worse and even worse than a manager violent control an employee who was verbally attacking a customer who was assaulted essentially by their store negligence. Minerva another Walmart employee was very helpful even asked her boss to apologize for the treatment and stated they were wrong for this treatment. I am 4"10 and at one point had at least 5 employees surrounding me during COVID with a lack of social Distance I could reach out and touch each and everyone of them. So I need Covid results for all employees who sucked up the oxygen around me and I'm still waiting 5 Dwyer lager for the name of the chemical you sprayed me down like a roach with. I came today while in town getting my nails done. I had a gift card and needed groceries. Wow, this Walmart has great prices on quality food, I was surprised! I got a bunch of meat and veggies, and some everyday needed items for 61.00! I couldn't believe the deals. The parking lot is shared with plenty of other businesses, but it was a breeze to find a spot. Cashiers were friendly, and it wasn't to busy, late afternoon. They only carry food and vitamins here, so do not expect a huge Walmart. Its on the small side, but had everything I needed. Will for sure be coming here on the regular. read more

As a regular customer on Tapo St, I noticed that fresh produce like veggies and fruits were not so fresh. I like banana brand name. The shelves food ALWAYS empty every week. The heavy water jars like Crystal Geyster were on top shelf ! too high to reach it. All shelves need to reset all over ! The meat shelves - poor planned like hard to reach or read the labels of meat packages. I want to buy several water jars Crystal Geyster but out of stock for entire week ! The store managers really need to work harder to check all shelves daily. I dont like to drive to Walmart on Cochran St /Madrea 6-7 miles from Walmart on Tapo. Too much for shoppers. BEWARE! Store prices are NOT the same at all the Walmart stores. I was caught by surprise while shopping at the Walmart Tapo location. I normally shop at the Cochran & First Walmart for groceries & I found myself in the east side of SIMI so I stopped in to buy eggs & was shocked by the higher prices. I asked Walmart employees why the price of eggs is not the same as the other Walmart, & employee informed me that all Walmart prices are not the same in every Store. I asked, " why would Walmart not have same prices if they are same store?" Employee informed me that prices are LOWER at the Cochran store because of Aldi market. If you are not aware of this, please be advised. I will not shop at the Tapo location because prices are at least 75% higher for some items. Thank goodness for competition. read more

Usually have a good experience here but this one just made me mad. I ordered a hose online and it broke. I did a return online and said mail or return to store. I thought I'll save Walmart some money. I return it next time I go there to do some shopping. The manager tells me he won't take the return back. They don't have room for it. In your store that is 34,406 Sq Ft, You don't have room for a return from a customer that is maybe 13" x13" x 10" inches. The manager tells me to take it to the other Walmart that is 7.2 miles when this one is only 2.3 miles from my house. Also, the email for the return said to take to any Walmart not take to any Walmart that is not a Neighborhood Market! I keep my cool and walked away. Checked my phone found the email and went back to the manager at the returns desk. I told him in the email it says take to any Walmart to return. He tells me they mean the big Walmarts. I wasn't going to fight with him anymore. I writing this review and already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Attorney General's Office of California. read more

This is a "Neighborhood Market" WalMart, meaning it's more focused on groceries than home goods (although they have some of the basics). They have a fresh produce section; produce is a bit small compared to a chain grocery, but still a lot more than other WalMarts. The other food goods are well stocked. Simi Valley has three WalMarts -- use this one for your grocery needs, where they have a plentiful selection of food goods. Use the Sycamore/Cochran store for more home goods and some food. Use the West Cochran/Madera store for everything (it's a SuperStore). This location has a pharmacy, rotisserie chicken, and small meat/deli market in the rear. They do have some hard alcohol, but it's locked up and a hassle to get to (they hold it up front for you). The Sycamore/Cochran store has a much larger selection without the hassle. read more
