I never dreamed I'd write a review about a grocery store, but here goes. I've only shopped at this market once before, and had never returned because I didn't find the prices any lower than the Vons two blocks away, and their selection wasn't great. I happened to be at another store, and just needed to pick up a few things for a BBQ this weekend, so since I was right there, I decided to give it another try. I picked up some pork steaks, etc., and needed to pick up some vodka, which was behind a locked case. Yep. The cheap stuff was even locked up. Walmarts seem to have trust issues. Why else would they always check your receipts when you leave one of their stores, but I digress. Back to the liquor cage. I couldn't find one soul to help me. I decided to ask the cashier, who rolled her eyes when I asked for help. She yelled at another cashier asking if anyone was around. Nope. Apparently, she thought the problem ended there. A few seconds later, a young guy told her something needed to be cleaned up in produce. Well, that was apparently an emergency, and she got right on that. After an uncomfortable silence waiting for check out to end, I said alrighty then. I'll go to Rite Aid, to which the cashier replied, "This is probably irritating for you." LOL!!! Anyways, I would have put it out of my mind forever until I got home and started putting the groceries away. I smelled something not quite right. I picked up the pork steaks, and sure enough, I could smell through the plastic that they were spoiled. I checked the date, and it was days before the "buy before" date. I have to say. You rarely see Walmart Neighborhood Markets around. They have an awesome pharmacy and the bakery section has great pies. Selection might be limited on certain departments but I come here for the food that you won't find in regular Walmarts and they are open late. read more

Would be an ok store for cheap prices if they ever had in stock what I need. I am lucky to get out of there with 3 of the many items I came for. They also just stop selling many of the items that they have carried in the past. So we go to Vons to get the stoffers frozen Mac and cheese cups. Walmart is usually out of the whipped butter we buy and puffs tissues and baby cereal and certain waters ??? We find a place to park which is difficult then go in only to leave with sometimes nothing. Don't understand their restocking system and it appears they don't either. Employees are pretty nice but they have no answers on why their shelves are empty of certain items. I have tried to reach out to Walmart corporate and they don't seem to really care. Vons is expensive but we know the items that will go on sale and just stock up when they are. Very frustrating. One Employee told me that there inventory tracker devices kept getting stolen so they can't even check if they might have the item in the back. Ridiculous! read more

Rotten produce and even worse service. Self checkout is a waste of time because they always are down and have to wait for an employee. This place is so ghetto their automatic doors don't even open. I have never had a smooth transaction at this store. GET IT TOGETHER WALMART! Pathetic!! read more

I was there a few weeks ago. When I got home I realized I did not get my package of sausages. At checkout, the clerk put the items in the rotating bag thing and then put them in my cart. When I called, the girl that answered the phone was SO rude. She gave me the third degree and I had to prove I purchased the item. Then she says " we found the item you forgot". I explained to her that I did not forget them. It was not put in my cart. She said it twice just to be nasty. I went back to the store.... No apology , nothing! Done with Walmart! read more

Shelves are always empty don't waste your time go to a store that is always stocked up. Employees are also horrible and have a bad attitude if you ask for something they say they'll go check in the back and just never come back. read more

While I was shopping for my friend Walmart, I always have a excellent experience, especially with the wide variety of groceries, however when I went to go check out the cashier named,Michael, was very rude while he was checking me out, while I was leaving the,store my son, over heard him say under his breath,he said he felt sorry for me, I was wondering, why he,would say such a thing, maybe it's because I'm an American Musllim,with my head covering,on,he must not like Muslims, we should respect everyone, no,matter what race,or religion. read more

Was leaving a store next door to this Walmart while I watched someone who appeared to be the manager (or at least someone on the management team) toss his lit cigarette on the ground right in front of the store and walk back inside. Not a huge thing, but was shopping here the other day while my 2 year old daughter was freaking out. Nothing like trying to order deli ham with a screaming child. Anyway, out the blue, Chris the deli guy asked my crying daughter if she'd like a sample cookie. Through the sniffles she answered "yes". He then hands her a big chocolate chip cookie and her eyes just lit up. As if the clouds parted and trumpets sounded, the crying stopped. It turned a disaster of a shopping trip into a pleasant one. Brand new grocery store. Don't confuse this with a regular Walmart. This is a grocery store with limited big Walmart stuff in it. Service is excellent. People are nice. Prices are good. An enjoyable experience. read more

The staff are pretty friendly here. The parking lot is large. I never have trouble finding anything I need. It's just your basic neighborhood Walmart. Oh, a huge gripe would be with the optometry department. The staff are slow and they ignore you for a good part of the time. I stood there for 10 minutes trying to get someone's attention before anyone came up to me! And that happened multiple times. read more

Absolutely terrible! If you have all day and night to wait fill your prescriptions here! No matter which Wal-Mart you go to they both seem to have the same problem. Could be just my luck that the slow as a turtle clerk from the big Wal-Mart, Nadia happens to be working this location today. I have 2 eye medications I need and they told me 15 Mins after confirming they have both (all they really needed to do is slap the lable on) I come back 25 Mins later and what a surprise they are not ready! Infact she did not even type them up. So they first confuse me with another customer, then when I tell them no, they tell me it will be a while she has to type them up. There was a snafu with them not being able to run my insurance, so all in all it took me over an hour to get my eye drops. What a waste. read more

Asked an associate to open a case to get razor blades for a shaver and he said I have to push a button next to the case to get help. We did and no one came. We waited and hit the button again. We did this 4 times and no one helped and associates would just walk by look at us not even ask if we needed help. When I would start to walk up to ask they would turn start walking the opposite way. I use to fill my prescriptions at Costco In the past and decided to give this Walmart MARKET with Pharmacy a shot. My first time there was excellent. Gloria the Pharmacist was a delightful person as well as the gentleman technician. I had to get a few more prescriptions filled today and wanted to try them again considering it is a more convenient drive. Let me just say......I am impressed. The lady who took me seems to be new so she needed to ask her coworker how to do a few things. First of all, I commend the fact that she wasn't hesitant to ask so she could learn and get it correct servicing me. But I was also impressed that Diana, her coworker was so so helpful and has excellent customer service skills.... Which BTW, I saved more money here than at Costco. I am now a loyal customer to this pharmacy and THANK YOU for two out of two great experiences. read more

I will not be shopping at this Walmart ever again. The cashiers are extremely rude and customer service is atrocious. I have been ignored while the cashier went on to talk about a party she was going to go get drunk at, given attitude when asked a question, i have had a cashier roll their eyes at me when I asked how they were doing. This last particular trip was the last straw. The cashier was bagging my items and under his breath was complaining about how many groceries I had and how annoying it was. He was grunting and rolling his eyes the entire time. It was almost closing time so he made sure to let me know that he wanted to go home. He then tried to embarrass me on my method of payment. So unprofessional. I can't say I am really surprised though. I have yet to go to a Walmart where employees are not rude. read more

The store lacks the excitement of a Walmart super-grocery and has gone downhill recently in offering less selections. On the plus side, the store is fairly clean, employees are helpful, and the store carries ample supplies of pet food, paper goods, dental products and has a small pharmacy. read more

I REALLY don't like the people who work here. The majority of them are very rude and inconsiderate. They act like I'm a nuisance for shopping at the store, especially those that work at the service desk. I just feel like an inconvenience and they always act huffy about having to do any work. I have dealt with some nice people there, and I like the pharmacy employee's a lot, but the majority of the other employees just turn me off of this store. I'd rather go to any of the other grocery stores around Simi. Just as an example I recently went to return several items here. I dealt with a woman (who's name I don't recall unfortunately) and a man named Song. Both were VERY rude to me, the woman in particular, and gave me a lot of attitude. To be fair I had made a mistake and tried to return items I bought at a different Walmart store, but they both gave me attitude and were very condescending, like I was just a stupid idiot for not realizing that not all Walmart stores are connected. I wasn't a huge fan of the store in the first place, very little selection of items, I'm better off at another store, but I think this experience just cemented it that I will be doing my shopping elsewhere (which I realize isn't a blow to their economy, but there you have it). My hope is that the employees at this store would read this, and the other reviews here claiming the rude employees, and maybe have some better training or something. I've never had a bad experience at any other Walmart, there's just something wrong with this store, and I honestly think it's the people. It's no wonder young people, like myself, and millennials are turning to online shopping. It's the garbage employees and customer service. read more

Been here twice since they opened, both times were great experiences. I have had more than outstanding customer service in every department including people in the parking lot taking my cart. Everybody seems happy to be there and smile and willing to assist in any way possible. Excellent shopping experience. I look forward to returning. read more

Didn't feel welcome at all I walked in to take a look around and I guess he was the security guard or something followed me all the way to my car like I was stealing something. It was completely obvious and he was radioing someone the whole time as soon and I got in my car he turned around and walked back in. I felt harassed. read more
