We were also looking for Adirondack chairs, which you would expect them to sell at a Walmart supercenter. This location does not, however, stock those items. Friday was a long day, but sometimes when you are having a long day, you just have to exhale. On Saturday, I am going to help with sort and packaging Socks for Souls, which is a project for one of my community service organizations. We package up these socks - fluffy ones, holiday ones, soft ones, grip bottom ones to take to nursing homes. The volunteers also purchase socks to contribute to the project. This is the third year I have now participated with this very worthwhile and meaningful project. It is especially heartwarming when you deliver the socks to the nursing homes. The nursing home residents are so super appreciative and complimentary. Walmart Supercenter has a variety of socks to choose from. I was able to purchase an assortment of socks to take to the project. Looking forward to the volunteer effort. read more

It's Walmart...my expectations are adjusted, but I really enjoyed this location. I've visited 3 times recently just browsing for home goods since I recently moved. I like that this location is smaller, and it was well stocked snd put together. I also wasted my coffee on the floor like a klutz and they cleaned it immediately with no issue. Gross I saw a lady take her non-service dog into the grocery section of the store. It was licking various herbs and veggies on lower shelf in the produce section and even one of the bags of roasted chicken. I've been using the Walmart self-checkout at 2525 W Anderson Ln for years now, it's always been kind of crappy. Recently they updated the store and the POS systems. I was excited that they would have fixed the issues and made it a quicker, more seamless experience. Unfortunately, they have accomplished the total opposite. 1. While the new UI may look a bit nicer. They took a laggy system and made it even laggier. about 1/4 of my finger presses are not registered anymore. This is really bad guys, it's like using a 10-year-old tablet and incredibly frustrating. 2. The old system had this annoying aspect when you wanted to check out produce, there would be a button that said: "Produce". Now it says "Look up item" to make it less clear. Then a dialog that's at least 3 years old says "Checking out produce just got easier!, just scan it" Tomatoes and many others don't have codes on them. So I always have to click TWICE to get to a laggy keyboard, plus now it's not clear how to even get to that screen. 3. The new system has bugs too! I scanned an avocado and it asked me to enter the code, which was you know, on the label I just scanned. 4. You can't just checkout now, you get to also select how you want your receipt. Email / Text or Print? Well, 10 yards from the POS system, you have a guy who wants to look at your receipt. So I guess if you want to save a tiny amount of paper you could do that, but who will? Nearly nobody, so don't make everyone select it every time. 5. Two ways to improve this. First, have a button that says "enter produce item" for people that already know about scanning produce. The 2nd thing is list the top 5-6 items that people enter. At HEB that's what they do and it's way better. 6. I pay with my Citi double points card. Now instead of just completing the sale they try to get me to spend my points at a rip-off exchange rate. So now there is more button presses, plus an annoyance. Another annoyance: 1. This isn't POS related, but my Walmart now has an annoying chime go off every 1-2 minutes with store-wide alerts. It's insanely annoying. Please just stop. 2. They have removed 40 parking spaces for online pickup. Perhaps sometime in the future this will be used, however right now there are max 2-3 cars actually doing this. Instead it steals good parking for the rest of us. 3. The rotisserie chicken used to come in a container like every other store has done forever. However, at this Walmart, they come in a bag. It has a zipper top that constantly gets caught up in itself and your hands are going to get messy trying to get chicken out. Why?!? read more

Went in today with a Duracell Manufacturers coupon to replace some bad AAA batteries I had purchased thru Walmart within the past year-almost every battery had exploded(I had only used 2 of them from the 24 pack). They are Guaranteed 10 years in storage. No sweat-called Duracell and they sent me a manufacturers coupon for up to 20 bucks to replace the bad ones. Took the replacement pack to the register and it would not scan. Called manager over and she sent me to customer service who sent me back to the registers??!? Who sent me back to customer service-they called over their manager who would Not approve the coupon(I brought in the Duracell letterhead/envelope). They knew it was legit but the manager said she would get in trouble for approving?? HUH?? If your not going to stand behind the Manufacturer warranty-fine-then quit selling the product. Ridiculous!! I never write reviews about pretty much anywhere, but I really feel the need to do so today. I can't say too much about this Walmart in general since I've only been a handful of times, but one of the staff members named Margarita (might have just misspelled her name) was terrific. I bought a screen protector in the technology, which is where she normally isn't stationed, and she talked to me while we waited for product to be unlocked. She made me feel human and like I'm worthy of being listened to. We talked even while I was putting on the screen protector, and we got to know each other on a deeper level than I feel like is standard for customers and employees of superstores such as Walmart or Target. As someone who is in recovery from substance abuse, most people see me as a junkie, yet when I shared a bit of my story with her, she was empathetic and uplifting. From what I can tell, this Walmart hires great people. read more

BLATANT false-advertising to get me in the store . . Almost ordered off of Amazon, but decided to just go pick it up locally. Website showed several sizes and types of butane gas for lighters, so I bought one, prepaid for it, drove there several hours later when it said I could come get it, only to be offered a "substitute" that was NOT gas, but liquid like for old-school lighters . . which is about as helpful as offering me a "substitute" of diesel fuel for my gasoline car. Then said there were other brands and sizes of GAS butane fuel all the way across the store on isle H26, I walked all the way over there, and there were exactly ZERO butane GAS products to choose from. What a scam and HUGE waste of time, fuel and energy!!! Tempted to file a complaint with the BBB for FALSE ADVERTISING on your (lyin'-ass) website which is EXACTLY what this is . . So while buying my favorite chips, I get my other supplies as well. Teeth refund employee are good at this location. They work fast to get you out if you need to return something. This Walmart location made me come back to copy a key three different times because they did not give me the right size. Luckily the drive where I was going back and forth from and to was not too far but it was over a hundred degrees outside!! On top of everything else, during my three different trips back and forth to figure out that my key was the incorrect one, I noticed a woman who was needing assistance shopping because of her handicap(vision) in the same waiting area the whole time. I just had to approach her and ask her if I could help her with anything and she said she is ok and thank you for the help. I insisted and asked her what she was waiting for and she finally hesitantly told me that she was waiting for a Walmart associate for "shopping assistance". This really makes me so so so so upset. If you want to order groceries from Walmart, then love spending time on the phone or chat, to get a refund, please go ahead. In the last seven orders, only ONE order was without missing items. Each and every time, many items are missing, and I paid for them. I have to spend hours online or on the phone to get a refund of the item, then have to go to another store to buy the missing items. What is the point of Walmart delivery? Today was the clincher, and I only ordered as my car is in the shop. The delivery driver arrived, and proceeded to drop (slam down) every bag of groceries. I had to clean up goey yogurt that was smeared all over my front porch, then had to clean up a dozen broken eggs from my kitchen counter and floor, then proceeded to clean up and/or toss about $25 worth of other groceries. Exactly one hour later, I was able to persuade the telephone agent in Pakistan (I asked where she was and she was very very pleasant), I got a refund. WHY did I purchase the yearly delivery? WHY? They give me a $10 promo code for my troubles, which does NOT make up for the time, cleaning products, trash removal, etc. Then, I very stupidly order again. Walmart either does not give their drivers all of the items, or the drivers steal. One person at Walmart actually told me that it is very common for drivers to steal groceries - happens all the time. Did I mention the time a driver took ALL of my groceries to another house? That mess cost me three hours, and the agent on the phone recommended I go door to door on foot to ask where my groceries were. I give up (for real this time). I really want a refund of that delivery subscription, but do I have four hours to waste to try to retrieve it? read more

I always ask myself why I go to this store. The selection here is much more limited than other locations, part of which is due to the smaller store. But the service tonight reminds me why I loathe this store. This location has decided to start checking receipts before you leave the store. Weird, but maybe understandable. The problem was tonight's designated receipt checker, Sylvia. Because of her sloth-like speed, there ended up being at least ten customers trying to leave the store. Combining that with her surly, unpleasant disposition (She was yelling at people to not to crumple their receipt) made me feel unwelcome at this store and that my business wasn't appreciated. If I wanted a long line with surly staff treating me like I was a criminal, I'd go to the airport have TSA grope me. read more

I've been using the Walmart grocery delivery for a few weeks now and I've been very very pleased with it. Carol brings my groceries and she's done a good job. One time when I didn't get some thing and I, called to ask about it. The CS guy (I forgot his name but he was a doll!). was very friendly. He looked it up for me. Help me figure out that no I didn't get it and asked what I wanted to do about it. I said it was no biggie, that'd I'd pick it up later. He promptly refunded my money. When the conversation was ending, he thanked me for being so understanding and pleasant. I guess people get kind of testy and they're not always real nice when they don't get everything they ordered. A small, five-pound bag of a Walmart which somehow manages to fit in ten pound of chaos. I'm not sure what the deal is with this location, but restocking and possible construction make navigation inside the store difficult and borderline hazardous. Some good notes...the frozen food section is wide enough to comfortably shop for discount groceries, and it's properly stocked. The parking lot's spaces are also nice and wide for a change. Beyond that...I try not to rag on Walmarts but more than half the self-checkouts were broken and the parking lot is a disaster area. Come on, I'm sure one of Sam Walton's relatives can cough up enough for a steam-cleaning! read more

I have a hard time believing this is a Wal-Mart. The store and parking lot is so clean. It's sized just right, not overwhelming, yet contains a nice selection of items. There are no screaming children. There is never a long wait to check out. Customer service is also very different here. It's outstanding! Once I was short some change at checkout, so I offered to put my payment on credit card instead. The cashier said it was ok as she checked her own pockets to make up the difference. When she couldn't find enough coins, she called out to her supervisor to see if she could come up with an extra nickel or two. And her supervisor did. They both acted like it was no big deal. I remember thinking, wow, am I really in Wal-Mart... Their fruits and vegetables are not the greatest, so I don't buy produce here. And strangely, I don't like the taste of any of their artisan breads. Small quibbles, though. Why can't all their stores be like this one? read more

Have a 3 year car battery, still under warranty, won't hold charge. Called ahead to this store to confirm I can bring in the battery and make exchange. Asked if I needed to make appointment, go to specific department, etc. and was told no, just take it to returns/customer service. Go to store next morning, bring in battery, wait my turn. I take the battery to counter and say, "I'm here to exchange this battery, it no longer holds a charge". The woman behind the counter just stares at me with contempt, and provides no response. So I ask, "what do we need to do?" She advises "it's broken and we can't do exchanges". I answer, "yes, it doesn't hold a charge, so I need to exchange, it's still under warranty, and your website says you have this in stock." She says again "it's broken so no exchanges". I'm confused now, and it feels like this woman has a problem with me, so I advise "I called last night to confirm I could bring this in and make an exchange." That's when she clarifies with a snippy response "the "machine" is broken and we can't test this." Well, that's very different from what you've been saying. Then to make sure I don't bring my white *** back to this store, she looks me in the eye and says "And we don't know when we'll get a new one to test with." Of course I can't say anything else or I become a "Karen". I pick up the battery and walk out of the store. WTH Walmart? I call to confirm what I need to do to facilitate this transaction. I drive across town during stage 5 Covid, I wait patiently in line and get a bunch of attitude from an underpaid employee, and get treated like I'm the problem and expecting too much. If the intent is to keep people out of the store, then you've trained your employees correctly. Tonight I'll call around some other Walmarts and see where I can try to make an exchange again, and tomorrow, we'll see if I get a new battery. This is just another reason Walmart is my last resort store....And this particular Walmart is way too full of itself. read more

Today's experience with a surly checkout person ("Josh") was EXACTLY what has happened at checkout during my last 2 visits to this Walmart in the past year: No eye contact; not a word of greeting or "thanks" (or any word at all---even though I said "hello" and "thanks"); and, most obnoxious of all, no offer to bag my items (which included some cleaning products that obviously wouldn't just fit in my purse)! Aside from today, some other things about this particular store that are constantly bad: The paper bags at checkout have handles that tear easily. I've learned by now to carry the bags from the bottom---after having a small clay planter break last year when the exit clerk took my bag by the handles to see the receipt inside and the handles tore off. (Speaking of exit clerks: Today I actually had to wait to exit the store because he was so slow in checking everyone's receipts! Never again.) One last odd/obnoxious thing: A year ago, I was trying to buy a camera. The electronics clerk led me to the locked case. But when I asked him to take one boxed camera out of the case so I could read the specifics of the product on the box, he said he didn't have the key --- and there was no manager there to unlock it! (I ended up going to Best Buy and got the $250 camera that I wanted---after being allowed to read product specs!) I only go to Walmart 2 or 3 times a year...but this Walmart has been so unpleasant that, after today, it really stands out in my mind: "You're going to feel either annoyed or downright bad when you leave there." read more

I used to avoid Austin Walmarts at almost all cost until this small controversial Northcross location was built. Now it's located too conveniently for me to avoid it. This Walmart is a much better shopping experience than the others because it's never crowded, it's much smaller so you don't have to walk very far inside, and it has a higher percentage of friendly employees than others. People actually greet and smile at you. I took off a couple of stars for its poor organic produce selection, often having only one checkout lane open, and sometimes having a poor selection of items. For instance, I was looking for a scale recently but all of the scales sold there had poor ratings on Amazon. read more

We are in from Georgia and have stopped at a few Wal-Marts along the way and this is one of the smaller stores so I expected a more limited selection but if I were being honest I would wonder if this branch was closing. read more

Went to this location today and was not happy with the effort the employees have for the customers at this business....Asked employee who was busy with another customer if there was anyone to help me get something that was locked up, he gave me an attitude, The Electronic section is always a mess in the back of the store, when a customer need something there is not much effort to help them, maybe it's the lack of pay or is it they just dont care.... 2 Years straIght and still the same non shalont attitude since I've been coming to this store, it's really bad service everyone should be fired who really is in charge, just plain lazyness...
