I am not sure why this Walmart gets such a low rating. Those reviewers have definitely not shopped at the Florida City Walmart. There is no comparison between the two stores with this one being sooooo much better! It's a further drive for me to come to this store from the Florida Keys and yes, I have to pay a couple turnpike tolls. It is worth it. I used the Walmart app and was going to pick up my usual items at the Florida City store. Virtually nothing was in stock on a Thursday. I decided to go to this Walmart for the first time and shop in person. The parking lot is so clean in comparison and there are no shady people hanging out. I felt completely safe. This store had everything on my list and it was easy to find the items. The produce looked much fresher than in the Florida City Walmart and I think maybe the selection was a bit more varied. I got my 2 bags of shredded cabbage. Then I headed to the meat department and got my 2 pounds of lean ground beef and Johnsonville ground sausage. I found everything in under 30 minutes. I went to a manned check out rather than self check out. The cashier was a bit slow and never uttered a word. I think she didn't want to be there. Oh, well. Almost every shopping-cart has issues. Walmart needs to seriously upgrade all their carts to plastic carts like Target which makes ZERO NOISE. Metal carts are so annoying. I had to post this review when I saw that Wal-Mart was boasting on Yelp that they are eco friendly b3. They have the bicycle rack sandwiched between a mountain of broken shopping carts. The proper utilization of this type of rack is perpendicular parking. Where up to eight bikes could park. The way it is now only one bike can park without blocking another bike in, as I had to today. Talking to other cyclists at Walmart this problem has existed for three years after being brought to attention of management. I brought it to the attention of a manager today and I think she would have rolled her eyes except her eyelash extensions were too long. I wouldn't normally give Walmart Four Stars but I actually found one which is not a mess, and which had actual friendly employees. I have gone to the Walmart in both Cutler Bay and Florida City and they both have those problems by the ton... so I was pleasantly surprised to see this Walmart was all neat and orderly. I came here only because I needed some undershirts as well as to buy some toys for an upcoming event. I was quickly able to navigate the Walmart and find a Batman LEGO set for a boy and a Frozen LEGO set for a girl. Got the other item I need quickly after that. Can Walmart see and be part of the future, customers that don't carry cards or cash? Well as an experienced customer I believe Walmart still has potential but more flaws than greatness. I know that convenience is number 1 when being a customer but as a big box retail store Walmart is a deception when it comes to iPhone carriers. As I tried to make a purchase with my phone at my local Walmart. I was struck with the remembrance of war between two politicians. As I was told Apple Pay was not accepted at a self checkout I proceeded with my next question which was if they were able to submit my personal mobile banking debit card information. Sonia a head cashier playing MOD decided to inform me that if it was not an EBT card it was not possible even if I showed her credentials with my personal information to prove the account and information is my own personal account. She quickly revoked me from attempting to purchase what was in my cart and did not assist with a solution to give me another form of processing my payment. It quickly raged me because of the lack of customer service that was provided told me that there was still lack of training & misguided information between peers and management. What is still obvious and still why don't consider walking in this Walmart or any other is its operations mainly the front end. Thank you Brenda for providing me the correct and appropriate information and also for trying to make sure I walked out with my purchase because at the end you want to see a customer walk out with a purchase than empty handed and upset because a solution that could've been provided if the appropriate knowledge was there to provide. Please advise anyone who needs to hear it from District to CEO down to the cashiers and front end team. Customer Service is to provide the best service you can for your customer. You don't close the door on a customer because a machine can't do what a human created it to do. You shall always find a solution when it comes to payments $30 could've been $3,000 or $30,000 . This place is one of the worst Walmarts i have visited, and unfortunately it is the one I have near what was my home, so when it came time to go get something I only had this one and a farther one in Leisure City. This Walmart is dirty inside and the parking lot is unkempt, it should be a shame to management, they would learn much from the one in Leisure city, which also looks much more organized inside. The other terrible and senseless thing they adopted is to make the self checkout unavailable to most clients, the place is always empty because management took the narrow minded idea of making it only available to those who use "pay-and-go" or have the new membership, a very dumb decision and totally a frustrating thing for us customers. I always have to go to a cashier and wait in line, and some of them are frustratingly slow, even if all I am getting is one item! This Walmart location is by far much above and better than the general consensus of other Walmart's. Which is they are always packed, employee's have poor attitudes, poorly stacked shelves, and horrible managers. Don't even mention the customer service desk! Well, not here! Lines maybe still slow at times, but c'mon, people have carts full of Rollback deals & stuff to scan by a salary employee, who's probably on their 25th full basket! Have you checked out their gardening section? Yep, they have one, and we all know how expensive plants are at Nurseries. They have a great selection and great prices. But go there having done your own research, because not all the employees in Gardening knows gardening. Sometimes (more often than not) they stick people there to cover for lunch breaks, vacations, call in's, and transfers. It is what it is. Do your research first. I am not going to lie, this Walmart is pretty decent compared to other ones I have been to. This Walmart for the most part is clean and organized. Customer Service is decent in the sense that more than half of the staff members are willing to help you find the items you need. This Walmart is pretty safe based on my visit and what Homestead locals have told me. Store may need to work on having common household items in stock. read more

This Walmart is well stocked and clean. Reading some of the others reviews, I'm not sure what people where expecting. I buy mostly food from this Walmart although I haven't had issues with any non-food items I have purchased either. The produce stays fresh for a reasonable time is well priced. One time, I had to make a return without the receipt and the money was put back into my CC with no problems. The only complaint I have is that SOME of the employees are younger men and women that seem to not care about helping the customer. At this rate, 1 Star isn't even good enough! I purchased their Markerside chicken Caesar salad. As I am in the process of eating it (just a moment ago) I find a huge, dead fly wedged in a piece of lettuce. I only saw it because I ALMOST AT IT!!!! I am so disgusted and mortified. Most of the time I have a list of what to buy and I go by that list alone. Other times I have problems finding something and the staff is really helpful. The only thing I don't like is that half of the time when I say "excuse me" I have to say it more than twice, because they are either too busy on their phone (texting or fb) or talking to other employees about personal issues. So I say "excuse me" until I know they can respond. Beware of your surrounding while shopping. I had an incident where I was being stalked and had to call the security to escort me to my car. Other than that, there are a few staff members that enjoy what they do and are thankful for their jobs. Others...not so much. Have a blessed day! read more

Store is very clean and organized. I give 2 stars because I stood in the customer service line for almost an hour to purchase a fucking money order. First, they guy said he was out of money orders and called a csm to bring more. She completely forgot about us and when she finally returned she didn't bring the money orders and had to go back again. Once she came back with money orders, she forgot the key to unlock and reload the box. After waiting 30 mins, they opened the money order box only to discover there were money orders in there already. After closing everything up and trying again, nobody knew the pin to reset the money order machine. I will NEVER EVER shop at Walmart again because of the many issues I've had here unless the Miami zoo is over crowded and I want to see exotic animals. From now on my money will be spent at publix! I have 3 walmarts close to home and this is my favorite one close to Waterstone. The parking lot is well lit and always a police officer by the entrance after midnight. The store is always clean and I usually find everything I need on my shopping list. It's also not as busy as the one in Florida City during the day so the lines are torelable. read more

As walmarts go I know this one is fairly new but it seems like they did well in the hiring process. The staff on the floor is very friendly. I walked in pretty much late night around 10pm looking to buy a fish for my daughter and the attendants where very pleasant and family friendly.
