I am so sick and tired of constantly being inconvenienced by the self checkout attendants! When they were all open and I could go to any one there wasn't a problem. Then they closed them claiming staff shortage. When most but not all opened back up it's now only if you have 15 items or less you can use the ones in the corral. Some were reserved for Spark drivers only and yet they didn't have any for Instacart shoppers. On the morning of Wednesday June 5, 2024 I saw an old black guy checking out at the one set aside for Spark drivers and at the time I didn't see that it was because of the change in signage. But I could see on his phone that he was doing an Instacart order and not Spark. He also clearly had more than 15 items. How come he was allowed to use it and why is that when I try to I always get told I can't and to use a different one?! Deep down I can't help but think it's because he was black like the self checkout attendant lady was and she wants to inconvenience me due to being white and having called her out on her crap before in the past. Like when they actually didn't have any bags there. Talk about reverse racism. Even at the Vista location on University and Sycamore I've gotten hassled by the black and Hispanic self checkout attendants. So I'm going to say it. Walmart Delivery Service Since Covid 19 and my husband is at risk, we have been avoiding leaving the house as much as possible. So we signed up for Walmart delivery May 2020. I've been placing a delivery order about every two weeks and overall, we have been really happy with the accuracy, timeliness and accuracy. (so about 15 deliveries so far) One time an item was missing from the order, I called the customer service # and they immediately refunded. One time a few eggs were broken, again they refunded with no problem. We actually have received extra items twice - a giant jug of Pace salsa and another time a pack of string cheese. Its like a little mystery bonus! Only one time was our delivery way, way, way delayed a lot later - it was on a Saturday evening. I was a little nervous because my order had It's-Its, Drumsticks, Vanilla Ice Cream and other frozen items. (please don't judge me!) The order did arrive eventually, the groceries were fine, and the driver told me that Saturday nights are the absolute worse, crazy busy time for delivery. I guess a lot of liquor orders, party supplies? So best days for us have been Sundays late morning. Even after we all get vaccines and we get back to "normal" I will probably keep ordering this way. I had a complicated online return citation and I literally was repeatedly interrupted EVERYtime I tried to provide the pertinent information they would need to help me find a solution. I came in knowing I was not going to be able to return my item... it was past the date requirement and it was from a third party seller! As they ran me through their protocols for a standard Walmart return (which is fine if they were pleasant about it) they restated all the same information I had already provided but reacted as if it were New Info to them! I provided it more than once already! They used the basic information they found from my receipt to discredit any other information I shared. I absolutely cannot understand why three staff members (including a store manager) could not have the patience (there were no customers in a line behind me) to hear me out. I wasn't even asking for my money back... After the first 30 seconds of trying to express why I came to the customer service desk in the first place I became painfully aware It was going to be a challenge to find an answer to my question!! I walked away feeling like any person who witnessed this had to think "that dumb lady was trying to pull a fast one on Walmart!" I actually usually don't like to shop at Walmart, but this one is tolerable! One of the main reasons I like it is because they have baskets, which I haven't really seen at any other Walmarts in north county. Also, the parking spots in the lot are huge. I've never had any issues here! The employees are usually nice and friendly :) The produce selection isn't great, but that's honestly pretty typical for a super center of any kind. read more

Leah at the Walmart off the 76 tried to help me call the Vista Way store repeatedly, a Walmart employee had no luck getting through to another store, doesn't leave much hope for us customers. So decided to call an 800 customer service#. During afternoon I was assured by Diane she messaged the store who can't be bothered to answer a phone. No one called. Called the 800 # again got Javid who was not helpful, he kept telling me to place the order myself, my reply was if I could I would not be calling there is some sort of glitch. Called back got Norbert who was sympathetic and put in a request for a call. So far still have yet to get an employee at the Oceanside store on Vista Way. Today a driver stopped her van in the middle of the street, took 9 steps, threw the package 30 feet from the sidewalk, turned around before it even hit the house, took nine steps back to the van and drove off. From that distance it struck the front of our house 6 feet up beside a window. I did not request a special delivery on Labor Day, but this one surely earned Premium Pay. The item we bought was not a newspaper but was treated as such. Literally the worst shopping experience. Every. Single. Time. This is our local Walmart and every time I come I regret it. Today there were no carts. A crowd of people were waiting for one. I asked a staff member if someone was bringing some. He simply replied 'no'. We all had to go back outside to get one. It was still empty when I left after getting my groceries. Seldom do I use the phrase 'something sucks!' but this Walmart sucks big-time! This place was fithy! There were workers everywhere, yet the store was a mess. I was hoping that going in at 10pm would make for a smooth visit. After walking over clothing on the floor, experiencing items not properly placed on shelves I decided to leave. Since the manned cashier lines were long I went to the self check out and got stuck. I used the machine labeled 'cash only' thinking I could get in and out quickly. Not so! The machine took my money and didn't give my change ao I had to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up. When the person did show up it looked like all the machines around me were failing because she couldn't get to me right away. Employees will bump into you with the industrial carts and pallets and then give you dirty looks and ignore you when you are asking for assistance, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and overall just by far the worse. Went into this Walmart at about 1 o'clock today for a simple return of two great value food items, great value apparently does not mean great or even good value :( when chance through the front entrance with the two items in a bag and the receipt, the lady looked at the receipt, put a sticker on my bag. I brought it over to customer service for what should've been a simple six dollar return of their crappy cookies and poor tasting generic peanuts, and was told they would not give me refund nor store credit without the receipt because of EBT fraud. First thing, I did not care for that implication as despite my handicap, having walked in and need a cane to support myself, I have never received one penny of government handouts ever so I did not like that implication but secondly, hello, I did have receipt and gave it to the front lady, but it appears she did not put it back in the bag so basically they gave me an F U for $6 and I told her that instead of complaining to a manager, I will just put my complaint online and she told me she was a manager, and I read to her. My husband went to Walmart to return a defective product. He waited in line for 40 minutes with one cashier for 11 people!!!! Last time I was there to get a money order the same thing happened. But there were 7 people in line so I asked the guy behind me to hold my place while I got some to take care of us faster. Usually this Walmart is pretty good but today was not it's fine ass day I came in at 7:30 PM they're closing time being 8:30 PM, and waited patiently in the outdoor/hunting section to get some pellets. to which a Walmart employee kept telling me somebody was coming but never did for half an hour. after that I went to the electronics department to get a mouse and headset to which a Walmart employee told me somebody was coming nobody ever came I ended up wasting an hour of my night and driving home with absolutely nothing, also there was more than nine people waiting in the electronics department with me just to leave with nothing because nobody wanted to come open the cases way to lose business Walmart. Normally, I have no issue with this Walmart. So this review is STRICTLY for Walmart GROCERY. INCREDIBLY BAD experience looking to get groceries. I ordered quite a bit of items. In the order process, if something is out of stock, it tells you. I choose only items in stock of course. NONE of which were held for me. Literally, the morning of delivery, I get a nonchalant email that almost every item i ordered was substituted for something else. They decided what i want to substitute for me without ever asking me. Substitutions like: ordered Progresso Chicken Pot Pie Soup, changed to small Campbells chicken noodle microwaveable, ordered Roasted Chicken and Vegetable, changed to New England Clam Chowder?, Ordered Spam oven roasted turkey, changed to regular Spam light, tons more just like this. But of course, I am not ordering groceries that someone else decides that I want without even discussing with me, and some of which were not even close. Absolutely ridiculous. They also just cancelled a bunch of items too. When i got the email, i called customer service who said he will cancel, but he can't reach anyone there, so don't worry he will follow up. But if someone shows up, tell them it was cancelled. And of course, a few hours later, i get the groceries on on there way email. They give me the drivers phone number. No response. text, no response at first. They show up. I explained to the delivery person that the order was cancelled at customer service. She left and then texted me back the strangest conversation asking me if i want to have her bring the groceries back to the store? I texted back, I have no idea what the process is. What do you normally do? She said she doesn't work at walmart, and then asked me if I was the customer. Just very strange across the board. I do understand that this is during a weird time with the Coronovirus scare. But the system itself is broken, and the whole process showed how screwed up they are. Oh, and respond to emails sent?
