Completely frustrated trying to get a telephone call to the Walmart Supercenter in Oceanside. Went through all the phone extensions provided in the recording without getting any answers. Finally called the Pharmacy, getting answered promptly and was told, after listening to my complains that Walmart doesn't answer telephone calls any more. That really made me more upset since they are wasting my time without any respect for me as a customer. If you want to complain or have a problem one has to go in person, very inconvenient for a senior citizen without transportation. The organization ( the Walton family) and Mr. Doug McMillon, should try to service the public a bit better instead of filling their pockets cutting essential services. i bought an exercise bike at Walmart that the meter never worked and the bike makes so much noise I can't use it in the morning because I will wake up my neighbors. I tried to return it because it is sold by a 3rd party vendor who would not respond to me the only option I had was to box up and take to ups store which is ridiculous when the bike doesn't fit in any box and is quite heavy for me nor do I have a vehicle to that it would fit in seeing that I paid for shipping to my house they should be responsible for picking it up from my house on the dime since it is not the quality they said it would be and items never worked on the bike. Whoops, who sets off for a camping trip and forgets firewood? We do, we do! And -- it was Easter Sunday. Immediately thought of Target, called them, and they were closed. Found this Walmart, called them, and the woman answering seemed puzzled at why I would be asking if they were open. (I guess, by having someone pick up the phone, that's pretty self explanatory.) Great selection of camping "stuff" -- they have the usual Duraflame logs, and also this other kind that I haven't seen before that's supposed to be better for outdoor fires? Bought a few of those, and also picked up some unnecessary camping knick knacks. Also some gallons of water. Ample self check out. Lots of parking. Came here with a purpose, got what I wanted and needed, and left. Something peculiar (just to know): the McDonald's inside the Walmart does not serve breakfast. If you want a cheeseburger, you can get one first thing in the morning, but don't even think about hashbrowns. I thought the menu was broken when it had lunch items up. 2017: 39/100 read more

I use to love the convenience of Walmart. But now they're just conveniencing themselves. They only have one checkout person at every location. They force you to use self checkout. They lock up everything from makeup to razors to energy drinks. And when you push the buttons to try to get something that's locked, nobody ever comes. This store in particular shines -- or actually doesn't -- by having a barely lit parking lot and perimeter, which attracts even more dubious-charity solicitors and panhandlers once the sun sets. Folks from the nearby lagoon encampments huddle around the unused electrical outlets in the dimly-illuminated yet hardly romantic entryway, charging their devices. Sketchy. The auto department does cheap oil changes and will install tires you got online for only $10 each, provided that you don't mind greasy smudges in your car and waiting forever. Since the estimated 1.5 hour time for servicing has now exceeded 3 hours, I have plenty of time to do things, like write a Yelp review. No, I won't take the new car there, only the old truck. Yesterday afternoon I put in an order for groceries to be delivered and the delivery was supposed to come between 8-9 pm. Come and gone they sent me a notification that there would be a delay I waited til at least 12 am closer to 1:00am since I didn't want the groceries sitting out on the porch all night. Nothing ever showed up no further notifications. I called their 800 number and they said my order was supposed to be reassigned to someone else but never was . The only option I had was to cancel at this point . I had another order late another time before this because driver couldn't find our house!? Everyone else seems capable of finding it . If you really need your groceries don't rely on this Walmart . Unreliable and incompetent. Nobody could answer any of my concerns . read more

THIS WALMART SUCKS! Smells weird. Employees are rude as hell! Have had good experiences in the past and out of all the good employees, there are probably two left (at least I think so, they probably cut everyone's hours!!!) Nobody here cares, really, anymore. Anytime you ask for help it's like the people getting paid to help are burdened by a simple request whatsoever. Just called to do a stock check and to see if I could put an item on hold. "Operator" had NO clue what they were doing. I asked if I could check to see if this item was at this store (online had an alert saying "ONLY 2 LEFT!") INITIAL RESPONSE: "What?", asked again, received "I don't know how to do that." ... Who trained you? I said it was an item in electronics. Took 3 attempts to get me transferred. Line rang for a full minute. Some rude, complacent dude picked up the phone. Asked him if I could check for a Halloween complete set, said that it wasn't an electronics thing... It's a movie, dude. It most definitely is. Went back and forth and he said we are out of the Halloween movie - which isn't what I even asked about. He kept treating me like I was an absolute imbecile and I asked if he could check if it was in stock anywhere else and he said no and that my item number was incorrect. It'd be beneficial for your staff to learn to treat people with decency. Customer service really stands these days - Wal Mart or not! There's a reason why we call this the trashy one. read more

Love this place , shop here weekly but the last month they have had WAY TOO MANY ON SHIFT at once. They won't let you shop! They just push you out of the way and make you feel like you're not allowed to be in that section because they're working. I'm like I this is ridiculous. I work at a grocery store too and this is not professional or nice to treat people who are shopping. Please if you're going to staff this many at once, don't intimidate the customers to the pint they feel they can't even freaking stop for a second and look and the shelf. The bain of Fire Mountin. Walmart brought the rif raf to the hills, but then again some other good stores came through like Best Buy, Mimi's, a grocery store this side of the hill. At first it was a normal walmart, but was upgraded to a super (grocery). I still think it's not super because the grocery section is much smaller than other upgraded locations. Parking still sucks, kind of this sticky, grimey greasy parking lot stench. 1 entrance which is a hassle. The view when you walk in is a mess of awkward walls and angles. Not the wide open isles of other stores. Selection is mostly there. Many of the super picked through items are less so here because it's less popular than others, but the layout is terrible. Some isles angled, others perpendicular, no sense of structure or ergonomics. A good amount of registers, but less than a half dozen open at any given time, never seen more than 10 open regardless of rush. The service here is actually good, all my interactions with staff have been pleasant and as helpful as can be when reduced to shopping at a Walmart. I come here out of convenience when I'm in the area, but the bigger, brighter, better Walmart on the other side of Oceanside is my go to. Even that one is only 3 stars because it's so picked through. read more

Absolute horrible customer service. This is why, for these types of stores, I choose Target any day. I happened to order a printer online that ended up being falsely advertised which happened to be through Wal-Mart. Never used, barely touched, however time is very limited with my schedule of constant travel. I find time to return it, bring the receipt, and it was a few days after the allotted time to return an item. Andres, the 'supervisor' wouldn't even offer store credit or an attempt to satisfy the customer. I use to work at Home Depot as a kid and we would take back things that we didn't even sell. It's about customer service, so that the customer will return to your store who lives 1 mike away. Andres has yet to develop these skills and may need to look elsewhere for employment. read more

I visited this store on June fifth, and proceeded to shop for groceries. When I had reached the liquor section I rang the bell for a team member to come unlock the cage so I could select the beverage I was planning on purchasing. I sat there for a good 10 minutes, and finally saw a team member coming my way. I asked her if she could assist me with what I needed. She flat out said no because she was busy. I had asked he again and she told me "you just have to wait for someone else!" I was taken back and actually had to call the store and let them know that I had been waiting for a very long time and to please send someone. The girl who claimed that she was to busy to help me ended up handing around and chatting with some other crew members gossiping about me. Wow really busy. My only guess is that she refused to help me is because I am GAY. when she first looked at me she gave me a dirty look. I ended up finishing my shopping and spent $200. Hey, it's a Walmart. This is one of three Walmarts in my area, but this is my 2nd choice simply because it is a bit further from my neighborhood. This location is pretty standard for a Walmart. Same typical "find everything from food to cars to computers" here. I'd normally rate a Walmart as 3 stars just because they seemed to be plagued with popularity issues (i.e. too many customers and long lines) and parking issues, but this one gets 4 stars because those are never problems here. This is the only location that allows me to find good pariking spaces fast and I'm always able to run in and out without bumping into people no matter what the time of the day. Okay... where to I start? I normally start with what I like but that list is so short I'm going to reverse my order...utility carts/box movers in the middle of the big isles - I understand the need to stock shelves but these were left in the way and unattended. Then there is the mish mash of merchandising that would make Linda Blair's head spin. Valentine cookies at the front of the grocery section, some valentine candy at the back of the store, Valentine cards near the card section, and the main Valentine section next to the toy section - so if you want to do some quick shopping forget it! Up at the register, I asked a soda vendor who was blocking the way to the register to move i think he grunted and grudgingly moved to the side so I could squeak by. The cashier was sucking on a candy or cough drop that made everything she said unintelligible verbal gibberish. Of course, no visit to Walmart could be complete without screaming children and a host of fashion crimes that is truly the visual definition of offensive Lastly, the excitement of leaving Walmart only to get swept up in the meyhem of a large woman being detained for shoplifting chips. That was actually the only good thing. Way to go loss prevention man...you kept your cool and displayed calm respectfulness even when family members came up trying to justify her crime by saying its only chips. I say if she can't do the time she shouldn't do the crime. Again kudos to you. I gave the store a higher rating because of you. read more

It's pretty comparable to other Walmart locations.... if you visit many Walmarts. It's clean and well-lit with those annoying fluorescent lights, and everything tends to be priced ending in $.88. I went in looking for zinc based facial sunscreen and thought that it wouldn't be a tough find, but pretty much everything contained additional chemicals. My biggest frustration with this particular visit is the lack of customer service. I stood in one of the 3-4 open lanes and watched as the cashier slowly scanned items in and chatted to a fellow employee in the process (which appeared to be a friendly, non-work related conversation). Self checkout wasn't an option, so we were relegated to waiting in line and watched as people got in line behind us. By the time we reached the counter, there were probably about 10 people behind us. So why don't they open more check out lines?! (I've never experienced this kind of wait at the red and white store...) This location, like other Walmart locations is lackluster in its product offerings, customer service, and pretty much everything else. read more

Don't bother coming here for money services after 7, even though the desk closes at 8. They have their signs ready on hand to tape everywhere saying "money services temporarily down". At a certain time, everyday? Walmart on marron isn't down. I guess I should've learned my lesson after the 5th time. But who would've guessed the money service has a permanent shut down time? Last night my boyfriend and I needed to grab just a few things .. so after dinner we went to Walmart figuring most Walmarts are open late so didn't look at the hours . We walked in probably about 10:55pm , grabbed a few things including treats for our pup ... a worker ? manager ? have no idea ....comes up and explains that the store is closed and if we could please head to the front .. we said "absolutely no problem "and was just going to grab one more thing as we walk toward the front .... He continued to follow us and kept saying "we are closed " and letting us know it was 11:04pm we apologized but he kept on harassing us! We said "we understand " we are headed up toward the front ... he KEPT ON AND ON ! I wish I got his name... absolute JERK ! I work In retail currently and have worked in the customer service industry for 15+ years ...this guy needs to be FIRED ! During check out, he was standing on the wall across from the express registers with another employee just glaring at us FOR NO REASON! Some black guy wearing glasses and a Dragon Ball Z shirt with a beanie accused me and my friend of stealing, his reasoning? We came to Walmart twice. He was being extremely rude, making comments like "I'm not putting my hand in there" When I asked if he wanted to check my bag. At one point he was just trying to accuse us of anything he told me to open my bag, saw a pack of gum then asked if I stole it. Why the hell would I steal a pack of gum! I tried to show him my receipts but he refused to look at any of them, pointed at a random receipt on the ground that wasn't ours and asked "whats that then?" Why would it be ours! When he realized we didn't steal he didn't even apologize Maybe he was trying to be a good citizen but that does not explain why he was being so persistent and abrasive. I felt stereotyped because I'm a Hispanic teenager when things like this happen it hurts my heart. Honestly so rude!! Trader Joe's has better groceries. read more

This was my first time visiting this Walmart. There was plenty of parking spots available. I found this store to be clean and organized. Also the shelves were fully stocked (unlike the local Target) and who doesn't like the low prices. The employee at the self check out was very friendly and smiled! Not very different from most Walmarts. They have most of what you need. The service; however, is very mediocre. I asked a worker if they carried a certain hot sauce I used to buy from another Walmart because I couldn't seem to find it, the worker just said "Maybe, check the hot sauce aisle." I had already done that, I was simply trying to see if they carried it or if they were just out of stock that day. Not very helpful... I was also looking for a particular board game, I saw another worker nearby restocking and asked if he knew if they carried it; however, he seemed too busy restocking and didn't want to be bothered, he said "not sure" and continued restocking. He didn't assist at all. To finish my lovely visit at this Walmart, I was at the self check out, and as I was bagging up my items, I noticed the kiosk had no more bags , I walked up to the worker supervising the self check out area and politely let her know that my self check out kiosk did not have any more bags and she replied with "I think you can squeeze more stuff into your other bags". If I am paying for the bags how much trouble does it cost the worker to do her job and make sure the kiosks are stocked with bags? Just the cherry on top to the wonderful visit at Walmart! Walmart already sets the bar low, but this particular one might take the crown for the worst customer service yet! read more

It's a Walmart. I go to these often, as the prices are hard to beat. You can do your full grocery shopping here and get about everything you could need. It's nice they have a McDonald's in the store, so you can buy some food for the kids when you're here. Expect to see many Marines at this location, as it's pretty close to Camp Pendleton. I haven't had any gripes with this location, as it's pretty clean and the parking lot is spacious enough. I consider it one of the better Walmarts around. read more

There are two Walmart's in Oceanside I recently went into the one on vista wy. I had to leave because there were so many customers I found it difficult to keep a distance WAAAY TOO MANY CUSTOMERS .... hundreds ! Not dozens -- HUNDREDS. Many many not wearing a mask and standing close...ignoring the 6' rule. Especially shameful that the workers don't even bother to step aside to keep 6' away ....we all need to do that. Ralph's not so. Albertsons not so Vons not so.... Stay away.... the few $$ u may save isn't worth the chance that you might bump into this crowd popular virus !
