3 gripes, starting with #1: I checked Walmart's website to make sure the item I wanted was in the store. The website read "ready for pickup in Pico Rivera," but that wasn't accurate and a wasted trip for me. It looked like the section wasn't re-stocked yet. 2nd gripe, they changed their store pickup procedure. I used to come inside near the entrance, loved that. This time my instructions were to wait in one of their marked parking spaces, message them and wait. After 20 minutes of waiting, I went into the store. The item wasn't ready for pickup; an employee disappeared deep into the store to find it and help me. 3rd gripe, I ordered an item from Walmart online and they tried to charge me for their version of Prime membership. To think that they automatically enroll me, or that I have to un-check some box to not enroll, really bothers me. read more

The only thing this place has going for it is its prices and large selection of almost anything and everything you might need under one roof. What is horrible is their service. They're understaffed and the employees that do help and try to provide good service are outnumbered by the associates that don't care about providing decent customer service. Trying to get someone to assist you at this location is seriously the hardest task in the world. Coming here is frustrating to say the least. I constantly swear I'm never stepping foot in this place again and then I guess I forget how bad my previous visits were and l after a few months I return, and quickly realize that absolutely nothing has changed. Every time I come to this Walmart everything is locked up and when we ask for help employees give us the excuse of "I don't have the key" and can't find help for us after us standing and pressing the button for 20 minutes. They hire lazy people that don't wanna do anything or move a finger. This is so annoying and such an inconvenience. Gluten free needs. Don't come here. The South Gate store has one single section and a decent variety of gluten free goods all in one section. At this Pico Rivera location, they had ZERO gluten free bread and I was lucky to find the sad one brand of gluten free pancake mix they have here. Again if you want gluten free, forget about it here. They don't even have a gluten free section. You have to scour through the aisles and hope they have what you're looking for. Even the section supervisor tried helping me going by what the system said they had on his handheld store computer/phone and the system said they had it, but it was nowhere to be found. If you like treasure hunts where you could come up empty handed, then have at it. This is definitely not a "super" center. read more

I have a big issue with Walmart online orders I am a senior citizen and I always order everything on line lately I have been receiving all my orders downstairs at the mail box area I live on the second floor and I have indicated that I want all my ordered delivered at my door it's only 14 steps for me at my age it's very hard I just had heart surgery. But I ordered water bottles, a tower fan, apple juice and long shelve milk (8) cartons all and more I can't recall were left downstairs by the mail box and their message to was delivered at front door. I called and complained but no vain nothing changed I am forced to stop ordering from Walmart as it is not working. read more

The auto service here is a joke. 2 hour wait for a battery change. After two hours they didn't even change it and didn't tell me anything.

Horrible costumer service . Had an appointment at 7 am to install new tires . Got a email at 5am saying they cancelled my appointment. Called the auto center and couldn't get ahold of anyone . Called the store and asked to speak with a manager and was told "there is no manager on duty" . Then she said "well his door is closed" and "it would probably be easier to speak with someone if I came to the store "and with no hesitation transferred my call back to the automotive department where no one answers the phone . Came for tires and had to wait forever. Not enough employee's I think. Called over and over and turns out the car had been ready and I just hadn't been called due to staffing. When I arrived, Jose just ignored a huge line of people and walked by without saying anything to anyone. All this after getting tires and 2 months later 1 went flat. The whole experience costed 5 hours to fix a flat that was covered. I should have stayed with costco. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I am not from this area but was here for a soccer tournament. I was told by the person handling the empty checkout machines that I had to stand in a line with two open cashiers because I didn't pay the monthly fee for Walmart. I have never even heard of this before and had to stand in line with 15 other costumers while the checkout machines were all empty. There are at least 20 check out machines all empty. Should be closed down down during Covid Second time I come here this week. And they refused to clean the self pay area that someone had just used and walked away from. Even tho three people are there working the area, they are just there socializing and when asked if they could clean it they gave me a snarky remark, that they've all been cleaned already. This review is specifically for order pickup. I rarely shop at Walmart, but recently moved and wanted to buy a shoe rack. They had one in stock that I liked and I decided to try order pickup to not have to navigate the store. My item took one day to prepare and I was sent instructions to ensure an easy pickup. Despite these "easy" instructions, pickup closes at 8 pm but it doesn't say that anywhere in the confirmation email. Two other people had the same problem so we were all waiting for our stuff. Multiple staff members were rude to us and by the time we got to speak to a manager he said "it says on the website" about the 8 pm thing. I pointed out that the system / kiosk shouldn't let you check in at the pickup tower if that's the case, but he shrugged me off. A few minutes after this ordeal, I thankfully got my item. If I would have ordered it to ship or just bought it myself in the store and it would have been so much easier. Lesson learned! read more

I understand people not being happy working there. There is a way to talk to people and a way to treat people. This is the third time someone treats me like a thief. Before calling anyone anything, look at my receipt, my cart, compare all the items I am carrying if something doesn't match then treat me like a thief. I shop at this location because it's the closest location near me. I understand that covid may impact employees but what I don't understand is why the employees are ALWAYS rude. I was just at this store and there were 4 pairs of employees in different departments wheeling out product and all of them just about hit me because they were chatting with each other and weren't payong attention. Cashiers are rude and you can never find anyone who wants to help you. I have been to other walmarts and this one by far is the worst in customer service, store appearance, cleanliness (very dirty floors and shelves) and stock (not much available) shelves are empty. read more

Wow! I left the store this evening with a big smile. I thought to myself, "what fine young people they have working here!" Every employee I interacted with were very helpful, courteous and seemed to take pride and enjoy being there! The store was very clean and taken care of and I'm sure it has to do with management training and expectations but wow, keep it up! And to those employees, that attitude and effort in your work ethic will take you along way! One star was removed because I had to search around parking lot and store entrance at night (possible safety issue) for a cart. I will no longer be using Walmart for anything that needs to be shipped. They use FedEx and FedEx does not deliver as promised. I waited three consecutive days for a cat litter box to be delivered by FedEx and each time, the FedEx person said the adult recipient was unavailable when I was sitting at home waiting for it. I called the number posted up on the sign and the female young lady who answered told me I Had To Come Inside because it wasn't food. So as my husband was getting out of the car a young male worker came up and said Don't worry I will go and get your order. The confusion was annoying and so was the misinformed female who answered. Do not come here for tires... my appointment was at 1015am, i checked in at 930am, my car did not start getting worked on until, 1130am, it was finished at about 1pm they couldn't find my tires... a bunch of disrespectful young kids... to top it off, the employee who moved my car, got oil all over my interior... bad leadership, dirty work area, no where for the customer to sit and wait, only a huge store for us to go shopping in, i believe this is done on purpose... I am attracted to this location because of the selection of fresh fruits! I just love to fill in my trolley with apples, pears and peaches. The place is big with almost everything, one shopper might need. Time to time I am getting confused here to find what I need - the shelves are huge and well-stocked. I just went in looking for some promotional steering fluid and ended up walking out with a trolley full of bred, meats and fruits. The place is not overcrowded so no need to wait long for check out. There is one con - there are strange guys roaming around the car parking. Just keep eye on your trolley. read more

Fuck, it's been 6 years since I typed up that review. Not much has changed. Well, a few things: The store is no longer 24 hours. Laaaame. The movie section is no longer as cool anymore. They shortened the horror section. Assholes. The makeup section has become less messy but I basically avoid it now. Unless I'm getting nail polish remover or a mascara, I don't go in there anymore. Apparently I was obsessed with makeup then (I had a lot of it, but hardly used it) but people change and I'm more into the natural look. Hardly wear red lipstick anymore. Whaaaaaa?! That used to be my trademark folks. Food. There's plenty of it and I know the aisles like the back of my hand now. The lines are still long but I'm digging the fact that they added a few self ones (like self checkout but with a long conveyer belt). Me and my boyfriend stopped by this Walmart randomly. We're blown away by how organized and neat everything was. Genuinely amazing on how clean and how detailed the workers were with stocking the products on the shelves. Honestly this is a Walmart the workers should be proud of. Answer the damn phone! I called 8 times from my pick up spot for check in. Message box is always full. Never anyone to help. I do pickup every week. Never anyone to check you in. Have to physically go up to someone and stop them to check you in. The app is only for first party users. If you are a pick up person or 3rd party pick up you can only call or stop someone in their tracks to check you in or help you. Today. I had stop 2 employees before I got someone to check me in. I watched people who came after come and go. And of course no one here takes responsibility for their crappy service. Sad... read more
