I've been to quite a number of Walmarts throughout the US, and this one is an odd bird. It's no confusing, and maybe it's due to their construction to expand the store, but it just doesn't make any sense where things are & it's just mess in there. There's never a dull moment in this place! I've seen so many sketchy things happen here. I feel uneasy coming to this location by myself even during the day. The staff is rude and act annoyed anytime you approach them with a question. They don't even want to acknowledge you, period. I remember coming here a few times when I was younger. I didn't have a strong opinion on the place, because I didn't understand what Walmart stood for. Now I know, and there can be no doubt that this company is incredibly detrimental to society as a whole, and to the communities in which it exists. Downtown Renton has seen various small businesses come and go, and we can attribute much of this to the toxic effect of Walmart in town. They undercut competitors by forcing suppliers to make unfair exclusive arrangements. They pay their workers so little that they need public assistance just to pay the bills. They fire workers who try to unionize. They engage in regressive political lobbying. They are the epitome of everything that is wrong with this country. Renton has been through some hard times, and you can either make it worse or you can make it better. The businesses you visit matter. read more

This is absolutely the worst Walmart I've ever been to, Very worst customer services, I want to but some fabrics, I waited in Fabrics area for one hour, I ask fitting area person who handles all the store by phone and she announced more than ten times, not no one shows up in one hour, finally one young man come to fabrics area with horrible behavior, he told me I am not responsible for sell things from Fabrics, the man was to angry to me, I told can I talk to your supervisor, he replay me back we do not ahve supervisot here in store. stopped in at their tire and service shop after a catastrophic tire failure a few weeks ago. asked about getting my spare patched (nail hole) and put on my vehicle. the guy who I talked to was too busy heading to have a cigarette to help me, telling me that I needed to go inside and pick a tire out and pay for it and they would be glad to install a tire for me, I asked again about getting the tire patched and the employee just repeated about going in and buying a tire and they would mount it for me. apparently the "techs" there cannot understand plain, simple english... read more

I even called and asked them to send someone to help her and the response I got was "we can't, we don't have enough people".....except there were store employees milling around. I've shopped at Walmart stores plenty of times, but I never thought I might be classist until I came to *this* Walmart. Something about this store makes me less "I have a lot of respect for the working poor. It's not easy to get ahead when living paycheck to paycheck with no safety net," and more "WHAT THE HELL KIND OF PERSON STEALS MY GROCERY CART?!? And THEN dumps the stuff I had in my cart four aisles away?? YOU are a cheap, tacky person who deserves to live a cheap, tacky life!" (Oh yes, this actually happened.) Of course, I had to leave the cart at the end of the aisle because the aisle was too narrow to squeeze a cart by the people already in it, as a large number of their aisles are, even in the remodeled space. Add in the apparently unsupervised children racing carts around me (and INTO my side) and the smell of pot smoke oiling it's way through the parking lot air both of the times I was there... ugh. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else! I'm done with it. While plenty of people, even a majority perhaps, at this Walmart behave appropriately for a public place, the percentage that don't is far greater here than any other place I've ever been. Everyone wants to give Walmart a 1 or 2 because it's so hectic and the workers are rude. Listen when you have a big store with lower prices than anyone else there's a price to pay. It's going to be super busy with people in a hurry and associates that are stressed as hell being in a high intensity work environment for 8 to 12 hours on their feet all day. It doesn't give them excuse to be rude but I'm just saying I get it. When I was there today I spoke to two associates both of them were very busy but they still treated me respectfully and answered my question. I know that the $96 bucks I spent today on groceries would've cost me at least $120-$150 at Safeway or somewhere similar. This Walmart is the most profitable and busiest Walmart in the state. Not a total knock against Walmart in general, I know I can't have everything (great prices and great service from minimum wage, overworked employees), but even by Walmart service standards, the RENTON branch is straight garbage. The whole place is overcrowded, filled with screaming kids, rude people, tight parking lots, run-down store appearance, etc. ... which is why I bought from Walmart.com and had it shipped Site-to-Store. Big mistake. From the time I walked to the Site-to-Store counter (next to the restrooms) to pickup my order, it took 1 HOUR and 25 MINUTES for them to lookup my name and cart the product out. We only had TWO people in-line so it's not like they were exactly overwhelmed. Okay, I thought, this was probably a fluke... so I was expecting better when I went in the following week to pickup another order. Wrong. It took 1 HOUR and 45 MINUTES to get my order.. again, I was one of three people in line. Not to mention the service was horrible.. no one had any idea what they were doing, the phone was ringing for the entire time I was standing in line, employees were standing around doing nothing, etc. Much nicer Walmarts with slightly better service in other cities. Nothing is properly stocked, only two checkouts are open on any given day, and herds of people and screaming children are literally everywhere, tearing apart displays and clogging up the aisles. The employees that work at self check out are rude, the employees that work in electronics do not have the product knowledge that they should to be working in electronics. I'm going to share the last experience I had. So I go to self check out to check out, because I have 6 yogurts that have to go on their own receipts so I can turn in rebates for them and get what I paid for them back. So I had 7 different transactions to do. This small Asian lady that was working self-checkout, is the most disrespectful, rudest, most incompetent person I've ever seen working anywhere. I wouldn't think Walmart would even hire such a foul person to clean their bathrooms and mop up puke. I had coupons and when I scanned my coupons I put them aside to insert when prompted. The lady comes over shouting I can only use 1 coupon 1 time and I that I have coupons over $5, I have to go to regular checkout. I don't know why she said that because I didn't use any of my coupons more than once. I do extreme couponing, so I have an excessive amount of coupons. I have at least 5 of every coupon I have, so I'm happy to use them and turn them in to make room for more. Also I didn't have any coupons over $5. I was just really confused and also so embarrassed because everyone is looking at me while this lady is yelling treating me like a criminal. Which I'm not nor do I appear to be in anyway. I've never been treated even close to that way my whole life by anyone, anywhere. I didn't even know how to react. So I tell her I didn't scan any of my coupons twice they're all set aside right there like I was prompted to do after I scanned them, by the automated voice. I also told her no coupon is over $5 and that I all the coupons combined don't even exceed $5. She goes to check my coupons with this attitude like I'm lying and aggressively shoves my cart that had my 1 year old son standing in the big part, into the bagging area that another customer was using and causes my son to fall back on his butt abruptly and he starts crying and reaching for me and refused to go back in the cart. I said hello you just knocked my son over, she said without looking at me or my son "you not suppose to put you son on that part that not safe, you suppose to buckle him in that part, next time you be safe use the cart the way you suppose to use it". Than the lady that was using that self check out pauses her phone conversation on her way out, with her 3 kids standing there with these "thats not fair" looks on their faces, and she said "that was messed up her son was in that cart, you can't treat people like that. customers expect to not be mistreated when they choose to shop and spend their money with ya'll." The lady ignores her finishes checking my stuff to find I didn't do anything wrong, the lady with the kids told me she would leave the stuff and go somewhere else. I thanked her and told her I would but I didn't have time and that I'll do the survey on the receipt to let Walmart know about this experience. The Asian lady interrupts rudely and says to me "ok finish there are people waiting" so I pay for that transaction while having to hold my son who's so heavy that whole time because he's terrified of that lady and won't go in the cart, and he's tearing up my coupons, grabbing everything and killing my arm. Than I go to start my next transaction scanned 1 yogurt go to pay for it, each yogurt had to be on its own receipt for a rebate, than the lady rushes over again putting her hands on my yogurts like she's stopping me from taking them and said "you did not pay", when I wasn't even leaving and had my card in hand trying to pay for one than was gonna scan another one to pay one at a time. I told her I know and explained I have a rebate I have to scan and pay one at a time, the lady says loudly "i don't care we have cameras here, and she starts scanning my stuff all together. I said "I know you have cameras here, why are you even saying that? I'm not going to pay for the yogurts on the same receipt when I can get them free on there own receipts" Then this other angry looking lady comes, she was short pudgy and I think native, and she rudely asked "what happened" I explained the whole rebate thing with the yogurt on their own receipts, and she looks at me like I'm stupid or speaking another language and says "yeah we don't do that here you have to pay full price unless you have a coupon and you can only use it once". That's when I just had enough. There was no point to explain anything again, or explain that Walmart is the only place that the rebate is valid for. I had already spent a crazy amount of time there and endured a lifetime worth of emotional abuse and I had my husbands car and he had to be to work so I said "ok just put it back" and I left. Everytime I've been there its been unpleasant, but that last time was too much. Renton Walmart does not match the happy, friendly image that the Walmart corporations intended for Walmarts across America to have. read more

If you want maximum ghetto and you're in Seattle, visit this store. No valet parking here although someone may offer to *park* your car for you. I've been to Walmart stores across the U.S. and this one is one of the ghettoest. Even people I know who grew up in Renton call this a shockingly ghetto store. I honestly think Oakland, CA's Walmart is less ghetto than this. The last time i was here I grabbed a Sobe before checking out because the price was $1. The lady scans it and it rings $1.33. She asks the front-end lead (or equivalent) who is right behind her and asks her and she says it's "$1.33". I had already taken a sip (this was August) and took her to the sign 10 feet away. The front-end lead then told me that I "should have compared the price to price of the other drinks in the cooler that were on different shelves." I asked her if she was serious and she said "Absolutely, the stockers made a mistake and I would have realized this had I checked the prices of the other products in the cooler". They were $.33 higher so that's why I picked the **CLEARANCE** **SALE** deal that caught my eye as being such a bargain. WTF? Anyway after haggling she reduced the price to $1. It's Walmart. It's one of the most ghetto Walmarts in the U.S. Go to Lynnwood if you drive. Save yourself the drama. 2 stars because it is cheap and entertaining. read more

I go here a lot. The new set-up sucks ever since it became a super center. But ever since then, the set-up stayed the same,which is fine by me because it makes it easier for me to look for stuff since I already were things are which makes my shopping experience faster. Their order online thing needs more improvement, I think the employees need more training or that they need to be reminded to actually follow protocol. I have ordered things online and on my Walmart app there's this new feature where you check-in so that they know you're coming and have your order prepared but when I got there it was the same thing as it was before. The gal asked for my id and had to go back and look for my order. I'm not going to complain much about it because it was still fast but what's the point of that check-in feature if they are still doing it the old way. Price is always good for me. I buy/bought a lot of stuff here, esepcially now that I have a baby. My bf and I buy most of her clothes here. Right now, she's growing up so fast, buying affordable clothes make sense for us right now. Check out can suck but I tend to know where to have my stuff checked out and I try not to go during busy days because it can get pretty crazy. Parking is always full but the parking lot is big, you will find a parking spot for sure but it will be a walk from the front door but who cares, that's why we have legs. This Walmart is a straight up INSULT to their customers!!! The Walmart Corp obviously doesn't think the people from this neighborhood (or others who choose to shop in this neighborhood) deserve or need anything better. That has been apparent before AND after the remodel. If McDonald's in the most sketchiest of neighborhoods can change the standard of their customer service (cashiers have clearly been trained to greet and say thank you, have a nice day and smile... EVERY TIME!) then IT IS POSSIBLE... DESPITE being paid minimum wage. Yelp reviewers... poor customer service should NEVER be justified. Note to greedy Walmart Corporation: IT IS POSSIBLE... to have enough properly trained employees on the floor and at cash registers. And have cashiers who will NOT keep people waiting so they can debate when their lunch break should be. IT IS POSSIBLE... to create bigger aisles that are comfortable to get through and look at the items you're shopping for. Look at Target! IT IS POSSIBLE... to create better lines around the parking spaces to accommodate the number of cars and prevent ridiculous parking jobs. Look at Costco! I was put on hold for 7 mins, called back and put on hold for 15 mins (I was on the computer and got distracted at the time), called back and put on hold for 2 mins, got an answer but was DISCONNECTED! Called back and was put on hold again for 5 mins, called back and was DISCONNECTED again after 2 mins. During my "on hold" time there was never any ringing, no music, no person to come back on the line and say sorry for your wait... NOTHING. This is shameful!!! Ohhhhhhh Wally!!!! Ok so Walmart is (one of) the best discount stores in my area, however this particular one drives me nuts! I just dont know why....k so i just thought of of a few but I'll get to thoses in a second. On a good note I will say that Wally World does have some good prices. I mean come on.... they roll back the prices. I will also say that since they have remodeled the store which gave it more space, I don't run into (or get ran into) as many people as i used to! Now lets get to what drives me nuts! The clientele! I dont know why but its like some people walk into this walmart and loose all common sense! Second, some of the people that work in there. I will say that most of the staff there are generally nice. I frequent the pharmacy to get my mom's pills. Sometimes when I'm there staff members have no customer service skills. One time there was a pharm tech with a cold blowing her nose all over the cash register (nasty!). Another time I got there literally right before they closed. I was standing in line and instead of helping me (because I waited forever in line) the cashier straight up closed the pharmacy when it was my turn (RUDE!)!! The time that really cooked my goose was when The pharmacist would not give me my pain meds because of a screw up with my insurance. I almost knocked the guy out (no one comes between me and my pain pills) The other thing that bugs me about this store is how I can never find some products!?!?!?!? there is nothing more annoying than going to the store for some snuggles fabric softener and not being able find it. Im allergic to downy gosh darnnit!! Now Im usually not an eye roller but my eyes roll up and down those aisles as soon as I walk in the store! In general I greatly dislike Walmart to begin with. Make it the Renton location and that makes it infinitely worse. I only come here if there is one big item I want that is significantly cheaper than anywhere else. Otherwise, I avoid it at almost all costs. This is the most poorly run Walmart in WA state. Their remodel sucks, they just crammed more stuff in the store, it's not bigger. If you are here on a weekend, expect to spend at least 30 minutes waiting to check out. I have a hard time believing it's truly a "Supercenter" as their selection is not as vast as other locations. I live close but it's worth the drive to go to Auburn, that store is clean, easy to navigate and I don't think I've spent more than 10 minutes at check out there. I've never really liked Walmart in the first place, because I lived on the other side of the mountain, and the only store we could shop at was Walmart..So after moving to renton I was thrilled to be back in the city. I went to The Walmart, and was in shock. They were having donkey rides in front of the walmart with loud mexican music playing, then you got those crazy people trying to convert you to god, or buy something outside of it, then you walk in,and if you can make it past thecustomer service line, it still doesnt get much better because the store is always trashed, and the employees might as well not even exist. I never ask people where items are at in the store, but I could not find what I was looking for, for the life of me. So I found the one english speaking person there, and politley said " Excuse me miss, may you please point me in the right way of...." And she walked away from me before I could finish, so I went up to her again, and she ignored me and answered the phone in front of her,then I just walked away, because I've never been treated like that before....I simply left and went to Target instead....you pay more money, but at least you dont got Muhamed or Mr Wong Chang as your last resort.. read more

Absolutely horrible service every single time I come here. Maria at the customer service desk ALWAYS has a line of upset people. She never makes eye contact, she drags out casual inane conversations while people are waiting and when a manager shows up they are always frustrated with her incompetence. They also make it a point to mention there's only one terminal so there's nothing they can do to help anyone else in line. Never ever go here, Target is so much better. read more
