I went to high school in Arkansas. Why? Because my dad worked for Walmart for a couple years, along with the vast majority of the town we lived in. No Walmart I've yet encountered anywhere outside of Bentonville could possibly match the grandeur of the Walmart -in- Bentonville (I'm entirely serious; we'd often go to the Walmart with high school friends as a hang-out spot). All the same... $2+ tubes of brand name toothpaste... pretty decent deal. Spotted TV on DVD sets for roughly $15 a pop. If there's anything that Walmart does well, it's negotiate prices down. The kicker, and the entire reason for coming in the first place? $4 Prednisone. Heck. Yes. Cheap steroids? Even if it's coming out of my FSA account, it's cheap! My inner yellow man is beaming in pride. If not for the inexpensive drugs, I definitely wouldn't bother. But if anyone can point me to an alternative for purchasing generics at such a cost savings, I'll buy you a beer. Or some steroids of your own. Whatevs. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I found an item on Walmart.com I also have screen shots and a recording of my screen listing an item for $5 and specifically said in-store only and I tried to buy it in stores and it was ringing up as $25 I asked them to honor their price match directly from the Walmart website and I was told they do not price match from Walmart.com when your website clearly says you price match from Walmart.com I tried to buy the products and I was told I cannot get the price from online. I am extremely frustrated. I was told this from Amy (team lead) at the 45415 Dulles crossing plaza sterling va store location. The price ran up as $25 and online was $5. When the cashier told Amy (team lead) they were taking quite awhile my sister was checking the price from her phone and it changed to $25. They changed it while we were waiting and I am furious they would try to scam me and tell me it was not $5 when I have screen shots and screen recording of the price for $5. I even told the cashier and showed her and she said what a great price and then realized they were changing the price while we were waiting. I just hung up the phone after waiting over 40 minutes to talk to a manger, after first trying to talk with someone in the deli department. I asked to speak with a "manager" and finally talked to a supervisor would said they would connect me to a deli supervisor but actually ended up speaking to a store supervisor who did not work in the deli and knew nothing about the product I was inquiring about. As much as I hate to say this, I get better phone service from Amazon and am beginning to realize why these " brick and mortar" stores are in trouble. I'm writing this review to make sure I bookmark this location and I don't mess up and go here again. I'm not sure when they started doing grocery pickups here but I normally do them at the Dulles Landing store. Somehow my order went here (ok I did it) to Dulles Crossing. The parking lot here is a hot damn mess and when I got to the pick up spot there were like four cars just parked there in the spots clearly marked pick up. The store is right by Sams and the auto center is right behind the pick up spot so there were also cars parked behind the spots. It took a little longer than normal to get my order but not by much. I was so glad to just dip out of there! read more

Always a long line at self checkout - broken scan machines/clerk in outer space. Once went through the scanning of all my items to find the machine froze up and would not accept payment. Just went and waited another 20 minutes in regular check out line. 5% of the shelves are always empty. Tried to buy a specific coffee I could order online and pick up but for over 2 weeks not on the shelf. Another product not stocked for over a month. Have tried to find wheat germ for 7 years. But can order online and pick up. Clerks are clueless and do not speak English Asked how long it would take to replace my dead car battery on a Monday at 11:30 am. 2.5 hours wait! Almost everyone knows that is a shortage of PS5s out there. Story has it that the Walmarts have some and are holding them for employees. We looked up the barcode and shows limited quantity in stock. This staff told everyone I have spoke with that it was only available on line. It is bad enough that most staff at Walmarts are rude (not all), then they add this on top of. IMO, neither better not worse than many stores. When you can find employees, they've generally tried to help. As a result of a manager rant (store unknown) on Quota from an employee of a different organization, I try to thank employees everywher-- regardless of their position for taking the risks associated with working during the pandemic. On turn, most people try to return the favor. I believe that most employees everywhere I go are glad to have a job. Most are trying really hard, so have some empathy and kindness. Edit: So not only are the cashiers slow as molasses, but apparently mine can't tell the difference between a lemon and a mango. I was charged $4.50 for three freaking lemons. I'd go to customer service to get it fixed, but I don't want to spend an hour in line. It's not worth the hassle. Why, oh why, do I insist on shopping here? This Walmart is huge! Huge as in like a small city which is a double edged sword because they have everything you can think of and often times the shelves are unorganized or simply under stocked. You get a fantastic value here, sometimes an even better deal than a Costco or Sams club. On things like a jug on brand name vinegar is around two bucks and mouthwash is usually a buck cheaper than at supermarkets. Shopping at Walmart is an event because you come with a shopping list but some deals are so irresistible that you can't pass up an incredible bargain. I've passed by numerous bins with all sorts of items that cost next to nothing so I go ahead an take them. Walmart is great at exactly that. I always purchase my fishing license here because the sports department always has someone available to help and get you served pretty quickly. One downside is that there's always a ton of people coming through here so the isles are often messy. read more

Came in for a money order and was standing on a line wrapped around the front of the store for Customer Service. Swiped my card, the money came out of my account and the machine was broken. I ended up spending even more time in line than I already had with the slow-moving associate in customer service because they decided to give me a refund back in exact cash (over $1,000). when I refused the refund, an unapologetic Amy (I took to be a manager) decides to fix the machine and have the associate initiate the entire process again from scratch (including superfluously verifying my ID and address which has been done less than ten minutes prior). I was met with an attitude from both the associate and Amy that made me feel like the whole ordeal was my fault after I exhausted most of my patience trying to bring business to their store read more

I am sick and tired I was buying food at Walmart that has been opened or tampered with. We just bought a large container of planters cashews. Only to open it when we get home and find that the inner seal has been broken. A lot of stuff gets return to Walmart and it is defective. They just put it right back on the shelf and let someone else buy it. I am sick and tired of buying food that has been opened. Wise up Walmart your days are numbered. Once it gets out that you are selling food packages that have been opened you will be history. I've also seen birds flying around the store in the grocery section. This is a health hazard!!! You know the scene from every zombie apocalypse movie where the survivors make a dangerous run to the supermarket looking for food and supplies... only to see barren, ransacked shelves staring back at them with bleak, cold desperation? This Walmart is not that bad, but it's close. It's damn close. The shelves here are always in such amazing disarray (if there's even any product on there) that I don't blame the employees for outright giving up any semblance of order. I'm convinced when no one is looking tiny gnomes rush out from under the floor tiles and swap everything around, mixing it up and making it impossible to find what you're looking for. If there's anything even ON the shelves, that is. In all seriousness, I really don't understand why people decimate these shelves. NOTHING is in order, everything is swapped around. It's like the average shopper here loathes nothing more than an organized shelf and makes it their personal mission to randomize things as much as possible. And again, that's entirely assuming the shelves aren't barren. Half the time it looks like the store was raided. And as a personal pet peeve, every time I've been here there are ALWAYS children running through the aisles, bouncing off of me or knocking items from shelves... or just screaming at the top of their lungs for no reason. Which is apparently a thing with children. And the parents always stand there, never saying anything, never doing anything while their little banshee unleashes an ear-piercing squeal into the air. You look at the parents while their kid is wailing, and you get a scowl back. How dare you judge my banshee! I don't know what is is about this Walmart, I really do not, but I swear it brings out the absolute WORST in people. Trying to navigate the aisles I constantly run into people standing, talking, otherwise blocking the entire aisle. You ask them politely to move, and get one of two reactions: 1) "Can't you go back the other way?" Wait, what? You won't move, and are telling me to turn around rather than move your conversation over a few feet? 2) You get the death stare from hell. This is the most common response. A look of sheer spite and disgust for interrupting their conversation in the middle of the pickle aisle. In the end... you survive the store, find what you're looking for, and finally get ready to check out. Sanity is but a sliver of its former self at this point, but hey, we've gotten this far. It's a great thing there are dozens of registers so you can get out quickly! Ha, I kid. If you've been to this Walmart you know the story. There are dozens of registers... only 3 are open at any given time. The parking lot may be full of people, but there's zero staff on the registers. I hate this Walmart. I legitimately, truly loathe and despite this Walmart. I can't say it enough. I don't know if it's the Walmart staff or management that make this is bad, or it's quite literally that this Walmart manages to attract the single worst people in all of Sterling. I don't know. I don't have issues at Target, at Costco or other stores. Safeway's always fine, Wegmans always majestic... but this Walmart... it's quite literally THAT bad. Shopping here is dreadful. Shelves are messy, floors are dirty, carts are filthy, and bathrooms are a nightmare. The staff are unhelpful, unfriendlly, lazy, rude, and look like they just don't want to work. The only time I even want to shop here is after Christmas when you can get a bunch of stuff 75, or even 90 percent off but even then it's annoying. There's a couple claw machines which is cool but they rig them anyway (go to Dave and Busters if you're gonna play the claw machine). ABSOLUTE NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE TIRE CENTER. Had a very $large gift card to spend and needed new tires for the monster truck. I know, I already lost most of you ... ("Mat! WHY would you buy tires @ WalMart!? Gasp!") Ordered tires online. Getting a time to have them installed was not easy. Bottom line: Installed wrong lug nuts - this damaged a set of TRD rims. Did not install TPMS sensors. Regardless of if they buy me a new wheel and install new TPMS sensors for me ... That's absurd malpractice. Waiting to hear back from management. I'm not sure if this Walmart has taken up new management or what because when my wife and I first started coming to this Walmart it was so much better. Even when it first became a super center. I remember at one point the main isles in this Walmart were so big you could easily pass people without bumping them or having to wait for them to pass with their carts before you could go. It seems that this Walmart has gotten so lazy that they try and get every item in the back out on the floor thus taking away alot of the main isle space. Traffic and Parking here is horrendous during the main business operation hours. I would advise coming after those hours to eliminate the chaos of traffic and parking however if you can't good luck. Also be prepared to wait in line for a while especially when it is packed. I never understood why this super center would have so many cash registers to ring up customers and less then half of them will be open to take customers. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. I'm all for equal opportunity employment but I am strongly for the employees of Walmart being able to understand and speak good english. I remember when I was in Walmart and I was finally able to flag down an employee and asked him if they had any bean bags. YC (Yelp Community) not only did he not know what I was talking about but he didn't even understand me because of the language barrier. It was so frustrating. I mean the main reason this Walmart continues to get my business is because it is the closest super center to me, also as much as I may dislike how things are being run here Walmart continues to have some of the cheapest prices on the items my wife and I like to get and it is 24hrs. Walmart is no longer the bargain it used to be. Many items are cheaper in full mark-up grocery stores when on sale. They just keep raising prices. Before you even walk in there selling 12oz cans of soda out of the machine for $1.25. That's a discount? Many of the third world shoppers don't know the difference. If the screaming kids don't give one a head ache the poorly made shopping carts drive like a very badly mis-aligned truck, the wheels often bump throughout the store. The store itself is just blah; the same layout without changing anything for years. The prices are about as high as they can get away with. The store cuts of meat are terrible. This week, the milk was $3.58 v Aldi $2.00. Aldi, F/Y/I while the selection is not great does have some very good tasting product in many instances with prices that beat Walmart frequently. Look at the price Walmart gets on the cut up fruit-Watermelon priced outrageously. This greedy family who owns the place doesn't care. They have more money than god. Complaining to the management is but a waste of one's time. I only shop there because I need to save the money these days but have restricted my visits to a couple per month. Screaming kids with ignorant parents standing by who let them. Walmart management would never dream of telling the parent to quiet the brat. At 9:00 P M a small army of employee's block 60% of the aisles when it could be just as easily done at midnight, not inconveniencing many customers. Limited selection of product almost always necessitates a trip to another grocer for things they do not have. The sundry section in every store was never designed correctly with too small aisles. The pharmacy is always a long line. They hire refugees, few who speak English. In Sterling, VA one may think there in Baghdad what with the employees wearing turbans and the women head scarfs. The only thing I haven't seen are employees wearing the full burka, but Walmart probably figured that would only increase the number of screaming children further. Camel parking must be out back. Few speak English. There is no way to find help as there is always a long line at customer service counter. A long line in this economy, with so many people out of work is a disgrace. I have heard Walmart's sales have been decreasing. The lack of reviews is probably because many of the customers cannot read or write English. I see fewer and fewer American's shopping there. The registers are always out of whack, no one here takes their job seriously. And don't even THINK of buying anything electronic like laptops or cameras. I shouldn't really complain too much about Wal Mart. Yeah, it sucks, the customer service is horrifying, and the people are gross, but.....it's Wal Mart. What do you really expect? As a part-time stay at home mom, I have the luxury of shopping here in the middle of the day on a Tuesday (when it shouldn't be crazy). It's always a zoo. Always. The lines are horrendous and the employees are pretty much worthless. Parking is a nightmare, a large majority of the customers are sketchy at best, and the bathrooms are super gross. Why do I keep coming back? Because I have two small children at home and their prices on diapers and other baby/kid supplies can't be beat. I'll brave the insanity to save some cash. If I need something else besides just baby items and/or it's an evening or weekend, I will always head to Target instead. It can also be a mad house, but at least I won't be standing in line behind someone with two teeth and I can be in and out of there in under 30 minutes. Besides the fact that this is a Wal-Mart (a single star retailer at best), potential shoppers should know that this location, a Sam's Club, and a Lowe's all share one mega-parking lot with only one entrance (to be honest, there is another out back, but no one uses it). A Chick-fil-A is thrown into the mix for family fun. Traffic is not only impossible, but downright dangerous as no one appears to know the rules for the three way stop that every single car has to go through to enter or exit this center. I am dinging WalMart for this since it is obviously the original store and anchor of the development. I am also dinging WalMart because they chose the holiday season to do the refurb to a Super WalMart (all the same garbage, but more of it), making the parking situation completely FUBAR. The mega-lot was full of construction equipment and CONEX boxes, and the secret back exit was blocked by construction. I'm at the Lowe's every week, and the traffic situation during this time.... unbelievable. I almost got hit a number of times, and had to force the matter more than once, which is entirely out of character for me.
