I usually do my grocery shopping during the day. Last night, after 8 o'clock, I came in to do my shopping. I was out of all my fruit. There was nobody in here, it was wonderful. 0 stars. 100% I Do NOT recommend!!!! This is The worst interaction with a Pharmacist I have ever had. I am given 4 conflicting reasons why my prescription cant be filled by the Pharmacist. This is regarding medication that is not new to me. Waited in line 40 min to be seen. Then to wait another 15 min to be told: my AV neurosurgeons office is too far away. My 5mg Percocet is too much. Then after providing all id and documentation. To be told it is not in stock. They have no idea when they would receive any stock. They would not be willing to update me on possible arrival date. I have to call back. Also, lastly this was sent straight to pharmacy electronically on thurs am. Now at 6:30pm on Friday he needs verification from a Dr's office that wont be open till Monday. Absolutely insane and unethical to say the least. read more

I love this Walmart (Tehachapi, Ca.) I am so glad they put a nice big department store in this location. I work at the prison in Tehachapi but I live in the town about 25 miles east of here. This is my favorite place to shop and I always find what I need and they're shelves are always stocked up, everything always looks clean and organized, and I shop at this location at least 1 to 3 times a week. Sometimes for a quick item or maybe a full cart of household goods or groceries. I order cakes online for all my family party's, which are so good, I buy everything at Walmart, clothes, paint supplies, gardening stuff, seasonal items, craft supplies, stationary, party supplies, dog food, everything... I also order things online at Walmart . Com... I've visited many Walmarts in many different locations and I must say this location is at the top of my favorite spots. Other locations look messy, unorganized, dirty floors, bathrooms are icky, and sometimes just seems clutter or disorganized. This location never disappoints. My only complaint would be that they do not have tap payment options. Apply pay, etc.. But that's not a huge deal. read more

This Walmart is one of the better ones that I have ever stepped into. You can find this particular Walmart in Tehachapi, California. They put another Kmart out of business when they entered the community. Sorry Kmart!! The store was very clean and organized. It was very spacious inside the store. Loved the fact that there was plenty of walking space. Not a lot of displays to dodge and avoid while shopping. The staff that we interacted with were fine. No complaints from me. My in-laws had a different experience than I did. They had a lousy time, but it does not affect my review. They can write about their specific complaints. read more

I had a simple question. I called this Walmart three times only to have the phone ring more than 30 times for about four minutes and then be disconnected. So I thought I would try going through the pharmacy where I was asked to hold after 20 rings, put on hold For 15 minutes and then disconnected. So I had to go into the Walmart. Sad and terrible excuse for a Walmart. The customer service is awful - they're so rude, multiple times I have purchased perishable food items, and the food has been half eaten and put into ZIPLOC BAGS,, apparently by another customer who returned them, and customer service failed to check them before returning to the shelf. I have been stopped MORE THAN ONCE for suspected shoplifting when I never have, and proved it each time. They act like they're running and guarding the white house. I've never shopped at Walmart until I moved to Tehachapi. While we have a few other grocery stores in town, I've found Walmart to be the cheapest for what I buy. They do have better prices on many things. It's really a store that has everything you need. Their produce could be better, however. I've seen fresher stuff mixed in with rotten stuff. The cucumbers seem to go bad pretty quickly. I actually like using self-checkout but it's a bit annoying to have to show my receipt on the way out. Still, we also have to do that at Costco. Walmart is kind of a necessary evil, but every employee I've interacted with has been nice. I wish we had a Target and a Trader Joe's up here. I rarely drive the 45 miles in either direction to shop at those stores. read more

Not having much luck with pick up. Order delayed, said 5min 10 min ago and now they said they have to check on our order. sigh. Still waiting and no word on our stuff. Called numerous times. Customer service is not helpful. Give you the same generic responses. No useful information. It's not like we can go home and come back. we live far :( The girls working here are nice though and have been helpful. System issues I guess. The manager was very apologetic and rushed our stuff out. she explained things. she also gave us some gift cards. we were missing a lot of our items and because the system failed they had no idea what was going on. i knocked a star for walmart's crappy system and not the actual workers and manager at the pickup area. we have had this issue at the gosford walmart in bako and stopped using pick up. it appears that their system issues haven't been fixed. read more

I have to agree with others who have said this is the worst Walmart. Its really a shame because so many folks fought hard to get this place built in Tehachapi and it is so badly managed, it is embarrassing. I always take my groceries home right after purchase and store cold items accordingly. I had to quit buying milk here because it goes bad before the sell by date. A family member told me she had a gallon of milk go sour four days BEFORE the sell by date and before she even got a chance to open it the first time. We speculated that something was wrong with their milk cooler, but I think I may have figured it out when examining various frozen foods at home. Bags of frozen vegetables have chunks of ice crystals inside and the product is stuck together. I opened carton of ice cream and the product was almost four inches below the rim of the container. There is an obvious line where the product was when it was filled and the ice cream, which should be smooth and creamy is now grainy and gritty - almost crunchy from ice crystals. This is a clear indication of thawing and refreezing and I KNOW this did not occur after these products were purchased by me. Many times, I have been shopping this Walmart and had pallets of frozen product sitting in the aisles with no employees attending to it. I have had to throw chicken purchased at this Walmart away because it was slimy and smelled off. Red meat often has a metallic smell when cooking. Fresh fruit/vegetables turn bad within two or three days of purchase even though everything is stored correctly. Shopping there on a Saturday afternoon and no registers are open, so we have to use self check out. The customers are doing the work of checking out, yet prices continue to go up. Employees are inconsiderate toward customers, they stand around in the aisles, chatting and laughing and do not get out of the way, leave empty boxes laying around or their carts parked in the aisles. Shelves are poorly stocked. The last time I was there, a week ago, the egg cooler was nearly empty. Many items that are stocked are on the very highest shelves, out of reach unless you can find an employee to assist - which you can't. Grocery shoppers would do better to shop up the street at SaveMart or Albertson's. The food will not be spoiled, thawed and refrozen or left laying around to be stocked. The price difference in the total bill will be negligible. read more

THIS WALMART IS HORRIBLE! Anytime we're in there it's dirty, shelves are empty, and employees are usually standing around talking not doing a damn thing let alone acknowledging customers. But, I tell you what. One employee always goes above and beyond of the laziness standard there. Mr. Eric, he's either not giving a crap, "on lunch", or just standing around. Well today Eric, you've pushed me to my limit. When I ask a question your answer should not be I just got on shift i dont know. It should be oh hold On I'll find out or get someone who knows the answer. But no Let me just lean on here and watch every customer even ones that are requiring help with my mask on properly (insert sarcasm) come on Walmart, I've been to nice ones and how'd ours was going to be too but, I guess people wanting to work in this town are few and far between. read more

I've had significantly better experiences with the staff here compared to other Walmart's, the majority of them are super friendly and I do appreciate that, but I've never before experienced such a consistently poorly stocked Walmart. Every time I've come to Walmart, I have had great service. The store is kept very well in order and clean. The customer service has always been courteous and helpful. I truly appreciate this. Walmart and the pharmacy department is really good sometimes are understaffed which is understandable and it can be a little slow, but other than that I have no complaints. 7/15/23 I went to Wallmart in need of 10 bags of ice and 150 bottles of water..and ice chests.... I was helped by the cashier and another pleasant customer service oriented agent.... HOWEVER a gentleman who was collecting carts in the parking lot, EDAN, was so so so helpful, unloading the cart and assisting with getting everything in my car. So excited this location as finally open! We are here for the grand opening today. It was well organized in got tons of free goodies. Shelves are fully stocked in all of the and please seemed to be really helpful and happy... We have had a good time wandering around finding all sorts of stuff that we do and don't need... I bought a DVD player 3 months ago and it quit working. I showed my receipt. The manager said they had a 30 day return policy on electronics. I cannot exchange it or get my money back. I guess I am out $100. I will never buy electronics here again. I will always go to Costco from now on. I used to love Walmart. Came back in and was disappointed with the old greeter chick. First off, she's confused about people using Walmart pay and not having a physical receipt. I went to a cashier, not self check out and she saw me, but wanted me to wait while I pulled up my online receipt. Reception is crap and she expected me to just wait there all day. To top it off, she farted on me, like a super nasty old person fart. I had enough and left and she continued to look confused. Surprised she didn't call security or the cops on me. The Customer Service Manager Gabe had a customer who was being so ugly, rude and combative with him and he was doing the best he could. He was patient, professional, and totally did not give into her trying to bait him into an argument for several minutes. He needs to be recognized especially in these sad last days before Jesus finally returns. Also, Cody from Subway made me the best sandwich I've had in a long time. He also deserves kudos! read more

Empty shelves of things I went there for. Vendors are ALWAYS in the way. The prices are not that good. Cat pan was $14.00, I checked other stores...it was $6.70. Checking out time I used the hand scanner but because of thieves I had to scan and still empty my cart onto the counter, took twice as long. I had a large bad of dog food to lift in...and out...and then back in again. Thats's it...going to costco. read more

This is a large Walmart so get ready to get a nice workout in. Turn that Fitbit on and you will hit those goals if you want to or not. Being a resident here for the past 3 years this town has benefited from this new location. I know there has been a lot of resistance from folks who reside here and the OG, but this town has grown and has changed from long ago. That being said if you are passing our little town and on your way to Las Vegas or are headed back to your home from LV. You can grab things you need with convenance. They also have a large clean restroom. (I can only share my thoughts on the ladies room) The staff has always been super friendly and helpful in showing me where a particular item is. Upon entering I saw a good amount of people who are not wearing any masks or have them below their neck which honestly defeats the purpose of even having it in the first place. I got a good one for ya. I made a grocery order on Walmart.com. I used my ebt card to pay. It sent me to the ebt site and I put in my pin #. Next day I picked up my groceries, came home and checked my bank account. I had received an alert from my bank for a charge. IT WAS WALMART! Not only did it put my account in the red but I now can't pay my electric bill that is already past due. Even with the threat of my electricity being shut off, Walmart couldn't or wouldn't fix the problem. The error was made on their end and I'm going to most likely be without heat this winter. The billing dept. was no help and unsympathetic. Please be sure to remove any other forms of payment if you use Walmart.com. They don't care and you will pay the hefty price literally. read more
