It's unfortunate that this is the only major store out there to buy any essentials or last minute items before camping in Joshua Tree. I really want to leave 1 star, but bumping it to 2 because they usually have what I need when I'm there. Most of the employees look miserable, and could care less to help you out. I've only ran into maybe 2 or 3 employees that are quick to help you if you have questions or need assistance. This review is based off of my last experience there. We needed help purchasing a Cazadores bottle from the liquor section, and pressed the button that gets someone to come help you. After 5 minutes or so, no one came so we asked someone nearby if they could help and they said to just press the button and wait. We asked if they could radio someone and they said no, & just to press the button. We proceeded to wait and finally a worker came to help. The name on her tag was Elva. She proceeded to grab the Cazadores bottle and started walking to the check out aisle. We followed and waited in line at Register 12. There was a pretty long line, but when we finally got to the front, we told the cashier that we were purchasing a Cazadores bottle that her coworker brought up. The girl at the register then went to go check, but came back saying that no one brought up that bottle. We were super confused and asked to check again, since we were just with her when she brought it up. The girl at the register checked again and came back saying that there's nothing there but a Hornitos Bottle. We said okay, can we please get a Cazadores bottle? And she then was trying to find someone who had a radio, to radio Elva to bring a Cazadores bottle instead. It was taking awhile, so she finally said to stand on the side until the bottle comes and we can be checked out. Awhile goes by, and we finally see Elva walking with our Cazadores bottle. A friend of mine asked her if we could be rung up by someone else since we've been waiting awhile, and the girl who was supposed to ring us up, is currently ringing up someone who has a crazy full cart. (It would've taken at least 15 more minutes) She completely ignored my friend, walked to the register and asked the girl ringing, "You're gonna ring them up after this family?" And then they were laughing among themselves and continued their business. If she couldn't get someone else to ring us up, that would've been okay if she just told us, but the fact that she just ignored us and went about her day, made us annoyed honestly. This Walmart truly has potential to be better. Please work on your customer service & do a refresher with your employees. read more

Constant lines, yet they have someone checking receipts as you leave. 90-95% of people don't shop lift. Focus on customer service first, then you'll deter shoplifting. I've now been waiting in my car for one hour for curbside pick-up even though I received a text notice before I even arrived letting me know my order is ready. Every slot is full and there don't seem to be nearly enough staff for the amount of orders the system accepted. Staff are always friendly and are doing their best but this is just a mess. I was only there for a quick stop to pick up water so my review may not have as much depth when compared to those who live in the area and frequently shop here. That being said, I did not see many people wearing masks incorrectly. Again, I was there during a weekday for a stop on my way to Joshua Tree. I also bought 2 chicken sandwiches for $5 at the Burger King inside. There was a lot of parking and the indoor space was huge. What a mess. Everything is behind plexi glass. Legos. Cosmetics. Alcohol. And then once they unlock the plexiglass and give you your $4 item (tweezers & little LEGO pack in my case) they make you check out at two separate registers! One in the cosmetics department and one up front for the LEGO's. I then made the mistake of using self checkout and then had to goto a third register for my 6 pack of beer. Dumb during COVID! Why would they encourage people to increase interactions with people and touching heavily used equipment. On 8.13.2022, I wanted to buy a tv at WM in Yucca Valley, CA. No sales person was at the Electronics dept. I asked a sales agent at the Auto dept. to call someone to electronics. "Emma" showed up at electronics. A long line had formed already. She spent about 1/2 an hour with one group. I asked her to call additional assistance. No, she said, everybody was attending to their cooling system failures. When she was finally ready to assist me, she had an attitude and openly didn't want to help me. Lots of excuses for herself, no willingness to sell a tv. I asked for a manager. A manager came and finally we went to the tv section. There, I decided to buy a Phillips tv, 50 inches. The manager then said they were out of stock. Then she ran away to a "toy emergency". Next: Manager Danny came. He said I should buy a Vizio. I declined, I wanted a Phillips. Then she began to repeat that I should buy a Vizio. He repeated it 6 times, disregarding my "No". He bathed himself in my frustration, smiling every time he frustrated me further. Evidently, WM employs psychopaths, which explains all the complaints about WM employees on Yelp. I am left with no tv. WalMart employees enjoy disappointing clents and do everything in their power to avoid a sale. I am getting ready to report this to outside authorities for Customer Abuse and Refusal to Serve, Sell merchandise. Beware if you have to cancel a pickup order because any part is incorrect. I am having terrible problems because of the grocery pickup process. Earlier in 2020, the service at the Yucca Valley pickup location was good. The associates who brought purchases out to my vehicle were polite and very helpful. That has changed in recent months with the service deteriorating. My most recent experience has been trying and stressful. I have spent days trying to straighten it out. Once I am able to get a full refund and can see that amount appear on my credit card I am going to cancel my account with Walmart and will not use their pickup service again. It was helpful and convenient during the pandemic but not worth it when a problem happens. I have reached the point of burning me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me. I've learned my lesson and will not use their service again. read more

Recently had a very disagreeable experience with one of the "store managers" at the register. The checker didn't know how to enter my gift card that was given to me electronically and called over a "manager" that was nearby. He attempted to do it and then decided that I needed a plastic gift card in order to complete the transaction. I told him that I had used it 4 times before in the store without a problem. He refused to try and figure it out and had a very disrespectful attitude. After unsuccessfully trying to explain to him about the gift card, I put my debit card into the machine rather roughly and he just couldn't help trying to aggravate me by saying: "Don't get rough with the equipment". I told him to f off. I knew that I was in the right as far as using my gift card with the number and pin. I should have just walked out and left my over $100 order for them to return to the shelves. This is the first time I have run into such a rude employee and I have shopped here since they opened. He certainly is a lousy representative of Walmart. read more

The Yucca Valley Walmart will never shop there again make sure your items goes in their bags if you request to have your groceries in a bag they steal your items I bought two CDs today I know I put them on the counter and the cashier scandy items but was reading the back of the CD she said she put the items in the bag but she did not do it because when I got home they were not there I searched my car thinking that they might have slipped out but they didn't and then you go back to the store and you talked to the loss prevention person her name is Allie does not do s*** she looks at the video but claimed my sister-in-law took the CD she said that she looked at the video she took the bags because I can't walk I'm using the canes I had to use those carts that have wheels and she helped me put my groceries in her card and my car because the cashier will not help if you are handicapped and so we went to grab the other bag and she says oh no there's that that's it that's it she took my CDs but Allie says that she looked on the video and didn't see her do anything except me and my sister-in-law loading up the carts so please people when you buy stuff make sure to check your bags because when you go back to tell them they don't believe you they protect their employees not knowing that the employees are the ones that are stealing and not only that Esperanza that works over in the cosmetics and makeup customer was spraying perfume all over and the customer gave the perfume back as far as I saw that if she puts the perfume back on the shelf and didn't say a word I call that stealing read more

Untended internal fraud issues and non-existent customer service. I bought an item that (according to the box) was what I wanted. I got home, and the item I thought I purchased was not in the box. I went back to this Walmart the next morning. The store refused to exchange or return the item. The Manager Christopher refused to talk to me. The Lead Jenna yelled at their own corporate customer service on the phone, who advised her to exchange the item for me (in order to get the item I actually paid for) but she declined to follow corporate policy. The Market Manager Leslie is supposed to contact me. I have not received a refund yet and plan to take this further. I have called corporate customer service numerous times and filed complaints on various levels. I will most likely never return to any Walmart, due to this experience. read more

I have been visiting for over 5 years now. And this Walmart by far has the most friendliest Workers. They talk with you, actually ask how our day was. It's like walking into a friend's house. I don't know why anyone would leave a bad review for this location. But it tells me them people wake up on the wrong side of the bed (Everyday) The restrooms are clean, the store is clean, we look forward to visiting more now that we live here. read more

It's a super center which I love, everythings in one place, the layout was the same as all walmarts with a few tweaks here and there which makes it easy to find eberything even in a new store... We we're able to get people food, dog food, fire wood, a futon couch, an entertainment center, a mask, toilet seat, cleaners, and puppy pads all in one place... So tonight 11/15/19 we were walking out of the electronic department and a lady stopped for us with a pallet. There was a guy across from us, also with a pallet (only Male running pallets) and he says, "Customers man, they're everywhere. Willis in the furniture department has excellent customer service! It was BUSY when we got there, and despite three people trying to talk to him at once he made sure to acknowledge us and told us he'd be right with us. When what we looked for wasn't on the shelves he quickly checked his scanner and grabbed the last one in stock. Not only was he attentive and quick, he was very courteous and did it all with a smile. Went here in a pinch to get an oil change. A sign out front said "No wait get your oil change now.". So we pulled up to get it done. We were told to go inside. I went inside and there were 2 people in front of me. After waiting 30 minutes waiting for the cashier to help the first person one person got out of line. The cashier brought over another cashier to help them figure it out. The combined brain power of them was still not enough to figure out the complex issue that is their job description. After it seemed they couldn't figure anything out we decided to leave. Walking out the door didn't work. The cashier couldn't figure out how to open it and was forced to man handle it open. If doors and computers is too much for these people oil changes must be rocket science. I wouldn't trust these people to maintain a big wheel. read more

Ok I've waited too long to get this review done. But since I'm standing in a line 15 people deep I think I'll have time to leave this. I work until 1030 every night so when I do my shopping it's around 11pm. I come here once a week but every time I come at 11 they close the self checkout. Then 50 employees are stocking everywhere but won't help you. Just put pallets in your way... like seriously they cant wait one hour. Then you go to pay and they only keep one lane open so right now there is a giant line. And employees milling about. They cant handle counting more than one drawer after close at midnight?
