Worst Walmart ever!! Do not come here. Horrible service. I odered some shoes for my daughter online. It was a good deal so I didn't mind the pick up. I get to the pick up line and there are two customers waiting in front of me and another is being helped. The representative helping her had a very heavy Ethiopian accent and was having trouble with the customers and the line. The lady in front of me became upset and demanded another representative go help. I waited for about 20 min. Then more customers started lining up behind me. I tried my hardest to be patient in line even though the woman behind me kept complaining out loud about how long it was taking. The girl that came to help was doing a lay a way transaction that lasted long after the customer she was helping left. Still I didn't approach her I waited to be called. Another 25 min later, finally! It's my turn. The girl that came to help called me up. She went back and forth and then finally told me that the shoes had been misplaced. I told her I saw some in the shoe section today. She told me to go get them and when I came back I wouldn't have to wait. I raced over to get the shoes and get out of there. I had me 3 yr old toddler who needed to use the restroom and my husband had just walked out with our infant son. I get back and the rep is helping the lady who was behind me and kept having the outburst. I told her I was back. She said you have to wait. At that point I was loosing my temper . I demand a manager! She called and then told me again to wait to rub it in my face. I demanded that she call a manager again because I wasn't going to wait any longer. She again told me to wait I said no. Just then a manager was walking out the back and heard me cussing out the employee who had told me to go get the shoes that they lost and that I would be helped immediately. The manager asked me to stop cussing while not even trying to let me explain what was happening. Before the transaction to replace the shoes was over she said just take them and I snatched them out of her hand! I will never go here again. Worst service ever. I'm even going to go as far as to say that this was racial because I was the only latina. And even though the lady behind me knew I waited for a while before she got there even she didn't say anything because it was convenient for her since she was being helped... Even when the Long Beach Downtown Walmart was closing, I received better customer service. It looks like it is closing down. Though I did see a lot of sales associates, they were always in huddles joking around. The sales cashier was amazed when I asked about the price of something she scanned. I love shopping at Walmart but this one here in Torrance is garbage I called and asked about purchasing tires around 8:30 am I was told first come first serve the manager said there's 5 cars ahead of me no problem but all those cars were for oil changes which a worker told a customer tires have priority !! I'm there from 9:30 until 2pm once I noticed my vehicle was inside I walked over to look the tire installer tells me I refuse to put one tire on because your missing a lug nut !! And told me if I want 4 tires go across the street to AutoZone and buy a lug nut very unprofessional, after I did that I was still there for 1 1/2 hours this store is garbage,I also went inside to shop while I was there and asked 4 different times for someone to come with a key to unlock some merchandise I wanted then went to restroom and a employee asking another employee I came in at 12:15 it's then 12:20 what time do I get my break ?? Trust me - you want to stay away from this place. You will feel uncomfortable here. Not to mention, the customer service is terrible, the wait at the counters are super long, the people who work there are rude. The only good thing about this place are the prices. At 8 am in the morning I expect a better attitude from the employees. I stopped by to pick up medicine for my son which happened to be in a locked cabinet, there're 2 associates next to the pharmacy counter chatting so I approach and say good morning to het their attention, the lady turns around with an attitude and tells me "he will be with you in a minute". okay so I go and stand next to the cabinet so the male associate can see and know I'm still waiting. shortly they end the chat and he goes to the other side of counter and starts going about his business, 10 minutes go by I see him glance my way every now and then but says not a word, he does not seem to give a damn what I the customer wanted, another mother also comes and needs medicine from the cabinet but this important piece of person is too important to do his job. "Katrina", an African American woman working the self-check-out at 11:05am on Saturday, December 7, 2013, provided me a horrible consumer experience. I was waiting in the self-check-out line for an empty checkstand. Katrina gave the next empty checkstand to an African American woman behind me. After I firmly informed her I had been waiting and was next in line, she looked at me, laughed, and said she would help me next and for me to calm down. She then went and helped 3 additional African American customers and then returned to help the initial customer she gave the checkstand to. She laughed with the customer AT ME, and said, "They always get so excited. She needs to calm down." When I later told Katrina that I planned to complain to the manager about her and requested her name, she didn't look at me, did not tell me her name, and responded, "I'm busy helping this customer" and they continued to laugh - she was still scanning the initial customer's order at the self-checkout stand. When I complained to the shift manager, she simply responded "Oh", smiled, and walked away. Bottom line - if you are not African American and you have to be helped by Katrina, you will not receive a decent consumer experience. read more

I'm not certain why there is such difficulty in this process. I looked up a battery charger that could jump start my car and it said there was one available at this Walmart. If I paid for it online it's $49 before tax. And then you supposed to be able to pick it up the same day. So I go to the store just to make sure that they really have it. if I buy it in person it's $69 off the counter. So I go to their McDonalds which has good Wi-Fi.. and make the purchase on my phone. Then it says I must receive an email verifying the purchase is ready for my pick up before I can actually take it home. Even though I see it right there on the counter in automotive. Do you know how long it took for me to get the frickin email? 12 hours. I had a dying battery in my car at 6 p.m. at night and I couldn't get the battery charger I'd paid for until 6 a.m. the next day. And if you want to cancel the purchase and reverse the charges that it takes 3 to 5 days for the money to get back to your account. Just sharing the story so maybe other people will know before they do what I did. One star re that whole frustrating cluster fugg of a problem. Now for Frank in automotive who actually helped get a new battery installed in my car the next day, 5 stars. Thank you Frank in automotive for your efficiency. They better give you a raise. So I ordered 3 items from Walmart.com (which I had reservations because I loathe Walmart) one item would be available for pick up at this location and the other two will be shipped to my home. So I go to pick up the order because I received an email saying it was GUARANTEED and ready to be picked up. I arrive to the store and there's no sign of my order. The guy in the pick up department says that they're not responsible for it and that I need to call the 800 number. I called the 800 number and she said the store is responsible. She transfers me to the store, I have been on hold for 1 hour and 25 minutes and still counting waiting for someone to find my items. I am now on hold with corporate because they wanted me to cancel my order, go look for the item at another Walmart and offer me a $15 gift card to go towards my next purchase. REALLY, no thank you and let me speak to your supervisor, yes I'll hold! So now I am waiting for someone to compensate me for the almost two hours of my time that have been wasted and for the inconvenience it will cause me to have to travel from store to store to find these items. I now see why I and others do not deal with Walmart. This makes no sense that I am having to spend my time trying to rectify this situation. Evening of August 26, 2019 I went into the Walmart got what I needed went to the 20 items or less line. There were two customers in front of me. I waited in that line for over 20 minutes did not change lines because the other lines were very very very long. The cashier explained to the customers that she was waiting to get change. She told us that she called the manager and she always has to wait on The manager to bring her change. The manager named West finally came over to the cashier and gave her two sandwich bags full of coins. He was very rude to the cashier whose name is April and he looked at the customers and turned and walked away with a snob on his face. The customers called him back to come back to the cashier and myself along with two of the other customers we explain to him that he was very rude to the cashier and that he owed us an apology because he made us wait we're paying customers. He gave a big smirk and walked away never apologizing. We ask for this store manager by the name of Christina and was told that she takes up for West. Three employees told us that is a waste of time to talk to Christine because West has complaints from other customers but she does not listen. Attempted to do an exchange on an infant travel system for $139 that my best friend received as a gift at her baby shower just a few days before (she received 3 and obviously she doesn't need 3). It was unopened, seal hasn't even been broken but the customer service cashier Vickie said that she had to get approval from the "manager". The first manager (African American Female) was very rude and even told us that she doesn't have to do the exchange if she didn't want to. (She stormed off) I wish I got both of their names. (Date 4/25 at 9:30pm) All we wanted was store credit and the second manager (Hispanic Female) came and told us that we had to shop right then and there. It was late and my very pregnant friend was tired. We had just came from the Walmart in Torrance which closed their customer service at 8pm, when we arrived at 8:03pm, so this was the second time we had to lug this huge travel system out of our car. Anyway the second manager said that Walmart does not give store credit for anything over $50. She also said that with any infant returns/ exchanges we HAD to buy infant merchandise only! Which we were just there the day before and nearly bought every infant boy item available which wasn't much because they didn't have a big selection. AND just a few minutes before this transaction we returned INFANT diapers and received store credit.... regardless I asked the manager if they had this policy in writing because I don't understand what difference it made if we were given store credit or did an exchange. She informed me that every policy isn't in writing. Baffling!! She told me that they cannot put over $50 on a gift card which is ridiculous because had we the gift receipt they could do it. Fact is she just didn't WANT to do it! I've been a manager in retail for over 10 years and I know what's feasible and what managing in the grey looks like, we definitely were not interested in getting over on anyone! Anyway I looked up the return policy online and it noted that the Store Manager has the final decision with any returns. (And what do ya know, their ridiculous "unwritten rules" were no where to be found. Hmmmm ) I then asked for the store manager which the greeter informed us that she was not there that night. By then the Hispanic manager walked away without saying a word, which was also very rude because she didn't stay around to resolve the situation. Anyway we left and lugged the travel system back to the car. Called the Compton location and they have no problem issuing store credit for a no receipt return in our amount as long it wasn't opened! C'mon Walmart get all of your locations on the same page. This is the very reason I don't shop at Walmart in the first place. I'd rather pay the extra at Target for the customer service experience. read more

Watch out! They are committing a lot of fraud. Apparently, they don't honor their warranties. In my particular case its a 40 miles warranty on my tired even so I did all the maintenance. Shop this morning out of Walmart with in Torrance, CA 90501. As I was checking out my cashier needed support from management. He phoned management twice and a manager by the name of Natalie was at the very next register and ignored his pleas for assistant. Natalie walked a few feet over to speak to a Hispanic male in their native language for a good seven minutes. My poor cashier was waiting anxiously for a good 15 minutes prior to calling out her name so I walked over to her and politely excused myself and asked her if she could please help her cashier. She turns to me and very rudely states I am talking to someone else. I advised that her cashier had been calling her name prior to her walking over to the customer and she again stated like I said I am talking to someone else. She rolled her eyes and turns back to the person. After a few more minutes she nonchalantly walked over to the cashier does not say a single word to me and walks away. In my humble opinion Natalie does not deserve to be in any sort of position that relates to customer service let alone management. I've contacted corporate and they will be conducting a meeting with Eric Sackett, the store manager. Walmart only has a bad reputation as a result of poor customer service. read more

I had taken my car in here for servicing a couple of years ago, and had a pleasant experience. This time, NO. The first day I arrived at 2:30 and they told me they were not taking any more cars but to come back at 7:00am the next day, I would be out in an hour. I arrived at 6:30. There were 7 cars in front of me already. They didn't even get the place open until 7:15, it was 7:30 before anyone approached my car. The employees were laughing about how three people had called in sick, but I heard one say "I'm not moving any faster." From what I could see, most of them were drinking sodas and and chatting. After an hour shopping I came out to find my truck was now wedged in so I couldn't leave if I wanted. But it was not any closer to being worked on. The final time it took them to change my oil? SIX HOURS. I couldn't wait outside and read a book even because there was a homeless man asleep on the bench with his butt showing and a lit cigar in his hand. All in all, a dreadful experience which I shall never repeat. (And the store is a mess, also. I only shop there when I really really need to) read more

This review is for tires only. I bought 4 brand new tires here two months ago. I bought the warrantee for each tire. Yesterday, two tires were flat, I brought my truck in to have them replaced under warrantee. I was told to come back in an hour and a half. 2 hours goes by before they even started, then they tell me I have to get 2 different tires because mine are not in stock, so I had to pay the difference. Not happy about that. Then 30 mins later, I pay and walk out. My right front is at 10 psi. I was late for something so I leave and put air in at a gas station. This morning, I come out and its flat. I take it off and put the spare on. Turns out they didnt even change that tire! Its the same punctured tire. I arrive today at Wal Mart to have it fixed. The same guy comes out looking irritated like its my fault they messed up. I tell him the story and he tells me, so what do you want me to do? With an attitude. Im like fix the tire! read more

Attention Shoppers! Where do I begin? It's no lie when they say that first impressions warn you of what is to come. When you come in you see everything out of order; items on the ground and obviously understocked shelves. You can tell that the employees have no pride in their appearance, as most of them don't tuck in their shirts, walk slow to where ever they are heading and there is not enough of them to meet customer demands. There is little professionalism is the way they communicate with others as you can standby to hear employees loudly announcing, "Peace out!" as they leave their shift or take their break. When a child loses their parent while playing in the toy section you can hear the employee embarrassing a parent on the overhead saying, "Mrs. ****, if you see that your child is not next to you, you need to come to the *** section of the store! Again, Your child named **** is here without you!" Next, several customers just make me think of one word, "GHETTO." Have you seen the Mr. Ghetto Walmart rap on YouTube? Check it out! It's no joke. Lastly, we waited in line a long time moving at U.S. snail mail speed. Of course, the cashier made sure to entertain us all during the wait by yelling out to her fellow employee, "Nobody wants to see your butt!" as she bent over to pick up merchandise. I agree with most reviewers here. Only come here for the price. Not only the employees here but the people go here are rude as well. It was a single line looked like two line for one check stand each where I was standing, a man started accusing me of passing him ahead and his wife constantly shoving me intentionally many times. Another woman behind me saw it and we talked how terrible this Wal mart is and better time to come. Yesterday, when I stood in self check out line for ten minutes, some stupid kid threw hard beach ball at my back and it was actually bit painful. I turned around and saw some little kid ran as fast as he could to disappear . If I have caught him, I would have yelled at his parents how untalented they are to teach their kids basic manners. This place has officially burnt down for me. My family and I went here the other day to purchase a new car seat, diapers, and misc stuff. Well first they didn't have the car seat we wanted on the shelf and when we tracked someone down to help us to see if they had more in the back. They went off and proceeded to call the dept we were in. UM HEELLLLLLOOOOO. If someone was there to answer the phone we wouldn't have gone to the next dept to find somebody in the first place. We waited a few more minutes and no one ever came back. Well we still needed the diapers so we went to check out. It was no surprise that there were at least six people deep in each lane and only half of the self check outs were working and they had no express lanes open. After waiting at least 15-20 minutes we gave up and left with our half full cart still in line. We eventually went to Target and got a better car seat for the same price and the same diapers at a cheaper price, go figure. I am never going to WalMart (especially this one) again. read more

Everything about this particular deserves a low rating. Customer service, terrible. Shelves are often out of stock. I've been told they can't look for stock in the back, but rather, you have to hope that it's put out overnight. They can't even check if something is in stock in the back (so I'm told). Today I called to see if they had an item in stock that was out yesterday. I was put on hold. 15 minutes go by on hold before I hang up. I call back and am put on hold again. Again for 15 minutes before I hang up. Now, if they were really busy, I would understand and call back later. But instead of telling me they are busy, or confirming that someone is looking for me, they put me straight on hold. I'm not even sure the girl understood me because after I asked my question, I was told "hold" and then placed on hold. At this point, I've given up finding out if my item is in stock. I call back, this time wanting to speak to the manager to complain about the service. I'm put on hold. I sit on hold for 15 minutes (multi-tasking but determined to speak to someone). I figure 15 minutes is plenty of time to either find someone who can help me, or at least check in with me again. Nothing. I hang up. I call back again and ask for Hugo, the manager of the month. Hold. As I type this, I'm on hold. I'll never get to a manager, but this is just typical of the type of service you can expect from this place. Since I'll remain on hold indefinitely, I'll write yelp reviews to help other shoppers beware of what they can expect at this Walmart location. Very disappointed. read more

I ordered an electronic item online. It says available for pickup today. I get a text telling me its ready. 2 hours later, I show up and head to the back after shuffling past hundreds of zombie like shoppers lost in a fog along with their sugared out screaming and crying children. At the pick up counter they tell me its not ready yet. I wait 20 minutes, nobody seems to know whats going on. I ask if I can find it on the shelf and bring it to them. Oh nooo that will just complicate the process by creating 2 orders but I can cancel one when I get home so I ask for help locating it, almost every employee is too busy worried about their lunch breaks or when they get to go home, so getting any service was impossible. However I find an item other then what I ordered that was marked on the shelf at $39.99 but was actually $79.00.After waiting 20 minutes for a price check from the most disorganized group of employees that don't seem very happy being there. All talking to each other about breaks and or having no knowledge of product at all. Almost completely useless. So the item was on the wrong shelf and 39.00 price was for same brand but just slightly different item but 79.00 item was on wrong shelf. I ask the electronics supervisor for price match. No but 30% off he can do. Ok fine. I get home and try and cancel other online item but can't do it. System won't let me. I call and I am told it will take up to 2 weeks to get my money back. I complain and the guy agrees that its ridiculous that it takes so long but that's the system I try the electronic item I did purchase and need to return it but can't seem to find receipt. I call and am told its impossible to return without receipt. I ask for manager but end up on hold for 20 minutes. I hang up and call back and am told I can return it as long as I used a debit but needs to be in the morning. So tomo I will attempt return. Wish me luck. read more

I needed a particular vacuum bag and it said online that this store had it in stock. The isle was a mess and they did not have it. When I asked about ordering online to store for pickup no one could help. I got sent to the online pickup area and then to customer service but it appeared that none of the employees know how to navigate the website or how to check for inventory. After I left, I called the store to ask about it thinking I could speak to a manager and get an answer. I was placed on hold by several people for over a half hour before I gave up. read more

I wanted a specific item from this location since the location closest to my house was out of stock. So before driving an hour round trip I wanted to call and be sure it was there before wasting my time. I was on hold for about a 45 minutes and still never got a hold of anyone. The first time I called, the guy on the phone tried connecting me to the correct department. 8 minutes later, nothing. So I called back and spoke with a woman this time, then she connected me. Then after about 6 minutes of waiting more, I hung up, called back, and got the same lady on the phone. She was very angry with me saying I need to give them a chance to answer the phone. (How would she even know to begin with that I was the same customer? She just jumped to conclusions right away before even hearing me out). I proceeded to tell her I have already waited a while she got even angrier saying that she is "just the operator." SO this time I was on hold for about 10 minutes before another female answered, then after describing the item I wanted, she said it was the wrong department. REALLY? So after 23 more minutes of holding, I gave up. They aren't work my time or business. I know I can't expect much of Wal-Mart, but this is very unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. read more
