I was feeling for a Tokyo Tea so we ordered just that, and might I say - even though they have nothing on tap, they pour HEAVY. After we closed out, he even went as far as asking if we were there before dinner or just chillin and we said before dinner. Not bad but they really need to say hi to new customers and maybe even introduce the newbies to the known crowd and make them feel welcome... This past Friday night, the bar was not busy, yet Jacqueline, the bartender, repeatedly ignored us. After our first drinks, we tried to order a second round and flagged her down several times, but she showed no interest in helping us. Her behavior came across as dismissive, rude, and completely uncalled for. I had not been back to The Swinging Door in a long time because of a similar experience, but I previously chalked it up to the bar being busy that night. Unfortunately, this visit confirmed that poor customer service continues to be an issue. No one goes to a bar on a Friday night expecting to be ignored or treated poorly by the bartender. Lesson learned. I sincerely hope management retrains its bartending staff and reminds them that being attentive and kind to customers is a basic part of the job.

We got the sampler so I'm not sure which one we were actually eating but the dark one was the best. Good for just hanging out and drinking some beers with some folks. Not to sound too snooty but after going to Vienna, this place can't compare to the real thing. Decided to try out Walnut room as a close friend had recommended this bar. It was very quaint upon arrival, but the staff soon made our experience a little disappointing. The bartender was rude and even belittled us when trying to order a drink she was not familiar with. The owner was also around to interact with customers, while she was friendly but made a few uncomfortable comments regarding my appearance. To avoid arguing, I told him to just bring a pitcher and charge me again respectfully. He refused and told me I would have to go back and wait in line if I wanted one. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said the manager was unavailable. We later noticed him walking around the patio taking pitcher requests from other customers and bringing them directly to their tables without sending them back in line. We politely asked again, and he said "okay," but repeatedly ignored us, walking past our table multiple times. When my friend followed up, he suddenly claimed he couldn't serve us and again told us to get back in line. There was no clear reason for the difference in treatment. Watching others get served while we were repeatedly refused, despite being respectful customers, made the situation feel discriminatory. As Latino customers in a predominantly Latino community, the behavior came across as biased and unacceptable. It's extremely disappointing because I've supported this place for nearly a decade and had never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately, this interaction completely changed my view of this establishment. I would not recommend coming here if respectful and fair service matters to you.
