Went to the Waltham Location to discuss 4 tires and an alignment. The service advisor at the desk could have cared less. The gentlemen behind the counter could not sell tires. Asked to give me the top 3 that would fit my vehicle and that was a stretch. He could not discuss much past Kelly tires! Finally, was able to have him discuss 3 tires and once compared, booked an appointment as this was on a corporate account. Car was dropped off and work was done Fine but lack of communication when I picked up my car was upsetting, as the doors were locked, but employees inside. Yes, this was before a holiday but was never instructed as to what time they were closing. When this place Was Tom Lyons Firestone, the staff would go above and beyond to help you. Now, if you don't have an appoint, they could care less. I went there for a flat repair one other time. Not a car in the tire bay and the service writer was bothered and not sure he could get me in at 3:00 in the afternoon. After discussing the tire bay was empty, I got the claim their tire tech was on lunch! After standing my ground, the tire was repaired. Tom Lyons would get right on it. Customer service now is subpar at best. As far as value, shop around. Other tire places in the city have better deals. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change and inspection sticker, while on the lift draining the oil the tech noticed a leak that turned out to be a transmission fluid leak. Upon further inspection it was found to be a pretty significant issue, but not an expensive repair. Glad I brought it in when I did and didn't put it off. Great service read more

I chose Sullivan Tire for an oil change and state inspection sticker because I wanted a place where I could make a reservation because of COVID. I thought this location would be great because I could take a walk instead of waiting inside. I had no problem making a reservation online, and was quoted about 1 hour of wait time. When I arrived at my scheduled time, I was told the sticker was first come first served (fine and understandable), and the man there told me I should add a tire rotation. Fine. He never once mentioned that this would take 2+ hours, when the original quote was 1 hour. I went for a walk, and when I came back 50 minutes later, my car had not moved. I asked why, and they said they were still waiting on the sticker. I asked why they didn't do the oil change first and they guy said he thought it would be better to do the sticker first. There had been 2 cars ahead of mine for a sticker when I arrived, and I have never seen an inspection take more than 15 minutes, so there was no reason for my car not to have moved. He repeatedly told me that he had said the sticker was first come first served, and I agreed but said he had never ONCE said 2+ hours total or that the oil change could not happen first. He was aggressively rude about telling me that he had told me. After I asked for my keys back because I did not have the time to wait an additional 2 hours (since again, my car had not moved in an hour), he FOLLOWED ME OUT TO MY CAR to tell me that I was wrong. Repeatedly. A MAN LARGER THAN ME FOLLOWED ME TO MY CAR TO TELL ME I WAS WRONG. This is unacceptable, and if he had impeded me from pulling out just then, I would have called the cops. Avoid this place, if for no other reason than the guy at the desk who is happy to follow a woman out to her car. read more

My daughter brought her car here to have the tires changed. They appear to have done a good job with that. However, while the car was there she asked if it might be possible for them to change out her license plates as she just received new ones and did not have the tools. I knew for them it would be a 3 minute thing and very easy for them. I suggested she ask as I figured they would be happy to do that for her and it was good customer service. Well, when she picked the vehicle up, they did change them for her but charged her $50. The tire change was $100, and instead of doing a customer a nice favor- a three minute at most switch- they charged her and not a $5 or $10 fee for the effort- $50. Needless to say, I was very surprised and disappointed- they took advantage of her instead of providing a courtesy and high level customer service. Will not use them again. read more

I brought my car to replace the two front tires after I nicked a curb with my right front tire. Life happens, even when we try to be careful. Dave was able to get the replacement started within 15 minutes after I entered the shop. I was lucky that a technician was available, but still the service was excellent. I have no problem paying fairly for competent and honest service and I found Sullivan Tire & Auto in Waltham satisfies both requirements. Dave was particularly helpful! read more

I was completely disappointed by the crew here. I made an appointment at 1:00 pm for my state inspection 4 days before, but only came to find out that they "don't take appointment for state inspections". So I had to wait there for the next available slot. I was told that I could have EVERYTHING DONE BY 2:30 pm since that's "what was said on my appointment". After almost two hours of waiting, I asked the crew how much longer will it take, the crew said they haven't started yet and claimed that they told me I needed to "wait for three hours". He knew for a fact that he told me 2:30, but he kept acting like I was the one being rude and not understanding. I was completely irritated by how unprofessional the crew was and how ignorant and condescending he acted. If you live close to Waltham, just go to the Shell gas station down Main Street for state inspections, don't waste your time here since they don't care about their customers at all and they have no respect towards their customers. read more

My car tire was smoking so I brought it in to Sullivan. I spoke with Dave who was great. Over the phone he quickly explained what he expected the issue to be and said he would do his best to squeeze my car in to get looked at so I would be able to get back to work on Monday. Dave even took the time to come outside to look at my car and explain what he was noticing. I would recommend Sullivan to others and will now be using them for any issues I have in the future (which is hopefully not much). read more

Dear Hogan Tire, I am writing to thank you and your service department for taking the utmost care in taking care of my wife's car. We live down the Cape and my wife was visiting her mother in her hometown of Waltham and Lexington when she got a nail in her tire. She was told her to bring it to Tom Lyons Firestone which is now Sullivan Tire. After fifteen to twenty minutes before they acknowledge she was there they told to bring it back tomorrow and they could not fix it today. She was then told she had to move her car though at that time it was flat. She asked if they could fill her tire so she could make it home. After another twenty minutes' no one came out to help her. I was on my way from the Cape that was at least another twenty to thirty minutes filled her tire with a pump and we went to Hogan Tire. At Hogan Tire we were greeted right off and the service manager and every one of your staff was just Awesome. After a short wait you had her car done and she was out the door in less then thirty minutes. I took my car in for an alignment cause shaking when doing high speed. Instead paying 126 for alignment, the technician suggest me to do a wheel balancing for lower price. After a week driving, I am very satisfied with the result and improvement in handling. read more

I hate to complain because Tim and Dave were very nice and my conversations with Tim were pleasant when I had questions and concerns but my car was there for 3 days (technically 4 but I dropped off on Sunday) and it still isn't fixed. I feel like they just threw parts at it hoping to fix it but I got on the highway and the issue I had is still there. So not only did I pay $770 for no reason, but I had to pay for an extension for my rental car because it wasn't ready on Tuesday as expected and still when I arrived a little after 5 today, it still wasn't ready and I had to wait for another hour. I also have no idea if the oil was actually changed because there is no sticker and the old one is still there. I honestly don't think I would go back in the future. read more

I gashed one of my tires late on a Friday. Since I was almost due for all new tires anyway, I scheduled an appointment online that night (after hours) with the Sullivan Tire in Waltham. The next morning I received a message saying the tires I was looking for weren't available for Saturday but could be ready by Monday. I then called to see what tires they did have available. Luckily they had a set that I was interested in on hand and could still get my truck in on Saturday. When I came back to pick up my truck, the gentlemen at the counter ensured that I got all promos and rebates available. They even took the time to explain to me some different aspects of tires that I only generally understood before. I was out plowing and got a flat tire. I put air in it and drove to Sullivan Tire in Waltham. I spoke with Tim. He said I needed to remove my plow blade. The tire had gone flat again. TIM came out and put more air in during the storm. I went home and quickly took the blade off and returned to Sullivan's. Left truck overnight fo two n knew rear tires. I wasn't going to post anything but Sullivan sent me a request to share my experience after my "visit". Well my visit didn't happen. Made an appointment online and then it was cancelled after office hours by the system and rescheduled to a date that didn't work. Since there was no way to reach anyone at that time, I found another shop that kept the appointment I made with them. The fact that their system didn't even know it cancelled my appointment is rather ironic I thought. Or perhaps just more evidence that it doesn't work. Customer Service is very good, I am satisfied. I took a 2012 Jeep Wrangler in for an oil change. After the oil change, it leaked oil. I took the vehicle back, and the problem was diagnosed and fixed. There was no hard issues. I mentioned a problem, they immediate ly told me to bring it in so they could look at it. It was fixed quickly sot he Jeep could be back on the road! read more

Update: I contacted Sullivan Tire corporate office and posted my review on Yelp on 8/27/22. Sullivan Tire Waltham called me back on 8/29/22. The result of our 15 minute conversation is Tim agreeing that Sullivan Tire would have the rim fixed at their expense. This is what was discussed during our call: *Tim had asked the mechanic who worked on my car that day if he scratched my rim, the mechanic said he did not damage my rim. Per Tim, it is not something he would fire someone over so he said his mechanic had no reason to lie. However, now that the footage was able to pulled up Tim said "it clearly shows" he nicked the rim and the footage shows that their machine "made contact" to the rim making the scratch even though they have a plastic barrier which popped off and was a 'freak thing'. *Tim said would need authorization for full coverage to fix the rim. He claims that my rim already had damage on it so he thinks it's fair for Sullivan Tire to pay half and I pay the other half. *Tim said he noticed that when I was in the office paying for my tire services he saw my husband go out to inspect the tires and that he "gravitated" towards that tire and that it seemed like he knew there was a scratch. He said that my husband had a look on his face like he was pondering that tire and only quickly looked at the other tires. Tim said it might be better if he had a conversation with my husband. -I guess this location doesn't think that people inspect the work on their cars that they were having serviced? If you had service done on your tires the logical thing is to inspect the two tires facing you when you walk out of the office, but in their minds you either don't inspect the tires or you go to the far side of your car to look at those tires first. I told Tim I didn't think we should have a further conversation since it sounds like he was inferring my husband and I caused the scratch after he just said the footage shows they caused the scratch, and that I would like it escalated to whomever had authorization to review the circumstances and have the cost of the rim fully covered. Tim's response, he was the one to authorize. read more

They were supposed to fix my struts and a few other things. Since the struts were to be done the following day, I called and told them I changed my mind and would have them done elsewhere. They told me it was too late and the struts were already removed. But when I drove by minutes later, the car was in the parking lot (struts not removed). I confronted them and they said they were confused about which car was mine (umm what?) and they actually didn't touch the struts. Long story short, this place is dishonest and will tell you lies to get as much money from you as possible. Go elsewhere. read more

I needed new tires. Called to make an appointment and was told not to make an appointment and just to bring the car in on Saturday morning. I did that, at which point I was told I had to have an appointment and that "no one would have told you that" when I explained what I had been told on the phone. I ended up having to wait about 4 hours to get them changed. One of the tires I was given turned out to be defective so I called and was once again told to bring it in and, when I tried to make an appointment, was told not to do that and just bring it in. I did just that and now have been waiting for 6 hours with no updates after being told it would take about 2 hours. read more
