I was walking home from work on my usual route when I notice hanging meats at a window. That's unusual considering it wasn't there before. I was excited, considering I usually have to walk all the way into Downtown Flushing for Cantonese BBQ meats. You know, the kinda meat you pick up after work when you don't feel like cooking and you tell your boyfriend to wash rice cuz you'll pick something up. I think it's still their first week because there are grand opening plants around the shop and the meats are sparse. I haven't seen a roasted pig hanging yet, but let's try what they have. - Roast Pork, aka Char Siu: legit. Sweet, savory, a little lean, a little marbling. I especially like the savory charred ends. - Roast Spare Ribs: same flavor, different meat. Pleasantly delicious. Not for you if you don't like bones. Can't wait to try more!

1 pound of roast pork that is way too sweet

Ordered 1 pound of roast pork and it was way too sweet and some parts way too much fat. Compared to other places with roast meats I tried this place is just ok. At least other places put the meat in nicely in the container and not just throw it in there. Will try the other roast meats another time to give it another shot.

Ate 1 piece .....and gonna bring it back and show them the piece they gave me ..... Not good ....for a first time customer going there to try there BBQ stuff ....dam !!! Won't be going back there again after get my money back or a new 1lb fresh one I'm guessing they gave me left over piece since they closed at 730 and I got there at 7

So excited that I don't need to trek to downtown Flushing, sit in traffic and look for parking. This place is on the other side of Northern Blvd, metered spaces out front. Nice portions and reasonably priced. Can't wait for the full menu. I got their duck and roast pork combo for $9.75

Solid place for chinese roast meats!! Now we don't have to trek to Main Street or drive up northern to our usual places. today for lunch we got two two-meat combo plates over rice and cabbage and we got half a pound of roast pig. the roast pig skin was really crispy!! will definitely go back there. Note that it's cash only and the place has no chairs or tables, so it's just take-out. No dine in.

Duck, crispy pork, char siu over a bed of cabbage and rice

Super yummy !! We got 2 boxes of the 3 choice: -Duck -crispy pork -Char Siu I love that I don't have to go all the way into downtown flushing to grab this delicious food! I will definitely be back for more ! I'm taking 1 star off bc the lady at the counter wasn't friendly. I asked for extra sauce (they come in little cups) and she didn't give me any. Additionally... pieces of the crispy pork was entirely fat like we ate the crispy parts then tossed the rest. (Usually there's a nice balance between crispy pork, fat, then meat)

My sister and I stopped in for lunch. I got the 3 meat combo with white rice and cabbage. I got the roast duck, pork belly and ribs. I like the flavor in all 3 meats. Nice and tender. My sister got the marinated duck, which I loved. Would definitely get that one next time. 1 star off is because the woman taking the order isn't very welcoming, we also asked for sauce and she got upset and like tossed it on the counter. Other than that the food here is pretty good. I enjoyed it

I walked in here to place an order and it took them 15 minutes just to take my order. 5 ppl were waiting but they all finished placing their orders. 2 ppl were arguing with girl at the register and walked out. Gave 3 stars since food was delicious.

    Pick 2 combo

Food is good but the potion is absolutely trash! I got the pick 2 combo and this the portion size. Unbelievable. Will never come back here again.

Always excited to see a new cantonese spot open in the neighborhood. Ordered three grilled meats with rice: roast pig, roast duck and soy sauce chicken. Very disappointed in the portion of chicken I received. It looks like at this point I am just eating chicken bones instead of chicken breast meat. At $10.25 I wish they were not stingy with the portions. Please do better.

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! There's complimentary parking if you validate your ticket with a nearby garage, but you need to spend a minimum.

We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

The restaurant is partitioned up into several different rooms where they will push carts in and out of the rooms themselves. We didn't have to wait too long to get any of the desired dishes that we wanted. Ambience: I think your typical staple dim sum restaurant ambiance was here. Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

The baked rice was not great either. It took a long time to arrive which we weren't upset about as we were warned when we ordered but for something that took so long, I expected it to be a lot better. The staff wanted my wife to sit at an angle to the table; so that they could pass through. The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.
