I previously complained about the food going downhill (since they opened), and I still stand by that comment, but to be honest it's not a bad choice in Downtown Flushing for dim sum, as they also serve rice dishes and noodles during lunchtime, so there are more options. Their prices are also very good for the quality and quantity of the food - perhaps because I'm comparing it with Manhattan. With costs of everything going up, this provides value for money. Parking cannot be easier, with the large parking lot right across the street.

What a lovely place to have dim sum. We were seated on the raised dais so it felt really special. The dishes were selected off a menu you mark with a pencil. The food was presented in very nice dishes. My favorite was the rice in bamboo. The fried noodles were really good as well.

Score 4 stars This restaurant was so easy to get to. It's literally right across from the parking lot at the last subway stop to Flushing. So, we came here twice for lunch special. Our favorite items were their complimentary soup (not pictured, but it was such a flavorful clean broth - very umami), stir fried clams, steamed fish meatballs, and their salted egg yolk custard buns. Yum! Overall, we will definitely return when we make a stop at Flushing station.

Very grand restaurant from decor to the table settings. Food was fine for most part but there's definitely needs better food prep guidelines. Everything was plated luxuriously and over the top. My favorites that night were the sashimi platter with fresh cuts of geoduck, salmon and lobster. Since it was a seafood restaurant, they definitely hit the mark with fresh seafood. The staff was great, and was very helpful.

Emperor Seafood serves up a Cantonese-style banquet menu and classic dimsum. Their dimsum dishes are pretty solid, and I plan to check them out again next time to try some other items! Located adjacent to the main municipal parking lot in downtown Flushing, the restaurant is conveniently only a few blocks from the 7 train. The entrance is on the first floor, with stairs leading up a stairwell decorated with an ornate dragon motif screen placed on the wall, halfway up. Walking into the main dining area, you pass a wall of seafood tanks to your left and a compact register area to the left. As one of the newer banquet restaurants in the area, the interior features more traditional Chinese decorative elements than older restaurants, with current trends leaning towards intricate traditional design details. The interior combines exposed brick walls with modern, recessed ceiling lighting, juxtaposed with traditional Chinese wooden trims, lattice windows and screens, curio cabinets inset into some of the walls, and red lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The decor simulated an ambiance slightly more upscale and tasteful than I've seen at some other banquet places, table settings included. That being said after a few years of use, a couple cups and dishes at our table showed visible wear and tear, and I see how a couple other reviews mention replacements are warranted. Food-- - 千層叉烧酥 Crispy roast pork puff pastries $4.95: just as described, a savory pastry with a filling of minced marinated meat. Pretty tasty and not as commonly found at other dimsum spots. Recommend! - 黑椒牛子骨 Black pepper beef spareribs $5.50 their version is on the sweeter side, had good flavor and meat was tender though I prefer New Mulan's iteration better. - 鲜嫩牛肉肠 Steamed beef and 软滑鲜虾肠shrimp rice rolls $5.50 each: fairly standard renditions of these dimsum staples, shrimp were decently sized. - 软绵鲜鱼求 Steamed fish balls $4.75 plump and bouncy, a little white peppery since they sprinkle some on top. - 蘿蔔糕 Pan-fried turnip cake $4.50 good amount of turnip, tasty. - 蜜汁叉烧包 Steamed roast pork buns $4.50 pretty average. - 烧卖皇 Shiumai - pork and shrimp dumplings $4.95 not bad. - 晶瑩虾饺皇 Hargow - shrimp dumplings $5.50 came with four pieces, ate one already in my pic, decent version. Order this! - 豆沙包 Steamed red bean buns $4.50 not commonly found at most dimsum places, unfortunately the execution was just ok. - 芝麻卷 Sesame jelly rolls $4.50: also not usually found at other restaurants, lightly sweet with strong ground sesame flavor and texture. Would recommend! - 桂花糕 Osmanthus Cake $4.95 this is a floral, mildly sweet jello. On the firmer side, an interesting combination of flavor and texture. I enjoyed the unique flavor. - 干炒牛河 Beef chow fun - pan-fried wide rice noodles w/beef $18.95: served with a side of soup--this was a single bowl of a clear broth with a couple pieces of pork and a piece of abalone. Traditional flavors. The chow fun was pretty standard and I thought a little on the blander side though maybe bc the other items were slightly saltier in comparison. I found the service half a notch above some other dimsum restaurants, I think in part due to orders placed by each table and not having diners select items from a cart. The staff we interacted with were professional and polite.

I checked out a new dim sum spot the other day and it was good, for me it was on the same level as Asian Jewels. I thought everything as a whole was good but didn't have any wow dishes. Each dish was good but they each had subtle things I would change. The crispy roast pork was shockingly the best item. This place doesn't have carts, you order a la carte The food: Crispy Roast Pork Puff- This surprised me as my number one. The dough was nice and crispy without being oily and the pork filling was nice. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=BRizWthlY7oZ_BjFyACVUQ Steamed Rice Noodle Roll w. Shrimp- Overall, I thought the flavor of this was good but I felt the noodle itself was too thick. Shu Mai- This was made well, the filling had good flavor and texture. Stuffed Eggplant- I really wanted to love this dish and while the shrimp filling was made really well I felt this dish came off a bit bland. I did feel it got better the more I ate it. Crispy Egg Tart- The dough on this was excellent, but the custard part of this was very eggy. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=44ajtWBruVmED6d9Onxc4g Black Pepper Beef Ribs- The ribs were cut surprisingly thick, the ribs were nice and tender but to me there was this artificial black pepper flavor I didn't care for.

This time we checked out thus dim sum spot that instantly caught my eye with its royal decor and gorgeous tableware. The dim sum isn't the best, but the quality is there. Just a heads-up: there are no dim sum carts, so everything is ordered from the menu. Har kow won our approval with its plump and bouncy shrimps. My second favorite was pan-fried cheong fun with dried shrimp - we liked it so much that we had to order another round. Pro tip: Save room for dessert--they're worth it. Both the black sesame roll and osmanthus jelly were very lightly sweetened. I always get black sesame rolls at dim sum spots, and this one is my favorite so far for its subtle sweetness and rich, nutty flavor. My relatives highly recommended the pumpkin and corn sage, so we ended up getting two. - Siu Mai 燒賣 $4.95 * - Fish Ball 鯪魚球 $4.75 - Steamed Beef Meat Ball 山竹牛肉 $4.75 - Har Kow 蝦餃 $5.50 * - Pan Fried Rice Roll 煎蝦米腸粉 $4.95 * - Chiu Chow Steamed Dumpling 潮州粉果 $4.75 - Steamed Spare Ribe 排骨 $4.75 - Steamed Chicken Feet 鳳爪 $4.75 - Pumpkin and Corn Sage 南瓜粟米露 $4.95 * - Osmanthus Jelly 桂花糕 $4.95 * - Black Sesame Roll 芝麻卷 $4.50 *

Came here for dinner with the family. It's one of those restaurants that is grand but the food is just okay. Flavors are there but on the bland side. Food was also pricey but understandable considering the ambiance. Servers were attentive and plates were swapped out regularly

Best dim sum place in NYC?! They don't have carts, but everything is so fresh. The prices are amazing, and I enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorites include the shumai, the custard buns, the tofu skin rolls, and the spring rolls. The egg tarts are so fresh. They were a bit slow with service when we were there (it was a Sunday morning, right when they opened at 11am, and it was packed), but I didn't mind waiting. They have a huge space with lots of tables.

I highly recommend Emperor Seafood. This is our go to place for Chinese new year and the food is always fresh and delicious. This year we requested a small room and it was perfect for our party of 10. The only requirement is that you had to spend $300. That was not a problem at all. We ordered a lot of different dim sum items as well as some noodle dishes, desserts, and all were excellent. Of course, downtown Flushing is a drag for parking but if you get there early enough, you can find parking garages which are fairly reasonable. Or, take the Long Island railroad from Penn Station or Grand Central if you're coming from the West. If you're coming from the east, you can also take the Port Washington line to Flushing Main Street.

    Evelyn N.

Great ambiance inside for dim sum or Cantonese cuisine. Food is on par with other surrounding Cantonese restaurants. Service is very accommodating and welcoming for brunch and dinner time.

    Receipt on top of food.

The food was mediocre. the servers gave a spot we explicitly said we didn't want to sit even after multiple reminders with many spots on the sides. The food also took extremely long with a 30 minute wait in-between small dishes. Even after the long wait, they would put a receipt on top of the food adding a dose of microplastics to the mix. Would not recommend , never going back ever again.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC for banquet dinners!!! I love celebrating holidays and birthdays with family here. The private rooms are decorated so well, and the main dining area is nice too! The presentation of the dishes, especially the soup and when they use dry ice for certain dishes is so fun. I think the food is also delicious. My favorite dishes I've had are this one herbal/duck soup, crab legs, lobster, and this one dessert that's a crispy rice cake almost. The only thing is the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom has been broken the last two times I've been here, and the sink water is so icy cold. There can also sometimes be a draft in the restaurant so just a heads up if you get cold easily.

The restaurant is partitioned up into several different rooms where they will push carts in and out of the rooms themselves. I was seated in some place that almost looked like a back room, but it was still decorated in the dim sum restaurant kind of theme. Service itself was pretty consistent. We didn't have to wait too long to get any of the desired dishes that we wanted. Ambience: I think your typical staple dim sum restaurant ambiance was here. Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

We walked into a grand interior with chandeliers, spacious seating, and a more formal atmosphere compared to smaller dim sum spots. The setup feels designed for larger gatherings, family meals, and celebrations rather than a quick casual stop, and the room has a polished, traditional energy that fits the style of the food being served. The dim sum experience is the main highlight. The carts moving through the dining room make it easy to see the dishes before choosing, and there is a wide variety of options ranging from classics like siu mai, har gow, and rice rolls to more unique dishes. The siu mai stood out because of the larger size and generous filling, while the egg tarts had a flaky crust and smooth custard center that made them a solid choice for finishing the meal. The mango sago offered a lighter, refreshing contrast to the richer dim sum items. The food comes out hot, and the cart service adds to the traditional dim sum atmosphere, keeping the meal interactive and engaging as dishes pass by. One thing we appreciated about Royal Queen is the overall variety. It is the type of place where everyone can find something they enjoy because the menu covers steamed items, fried dishes, noodles, meats, and desserts. The portions are also better suited for sharing, so it works well when coming with a group and ordering multiple dishes for the table. The service style is fast-paced and typical of a busy dim sum restaurant. The carts come around frequently, so dishes can arrive quickly once you are seated. Since the restaurant is large and often used for events, the dining room can feel busy and crowded during peak hours. Finding the entrance can also be a little confusing since it is located inside the mall rather than directly from the street. Royal Queen is a solid option for traditional dim sum in Flushing. The combination of the large selection, cart service, and spacious banquet-style setting makes it a good choice for group meals or anyone looking for a classic dim sum experience. It may not be the most intimate restaurant, but it delivers the full dim sum atmosphere with plenty of choices.

The room had a polished, contemporary energy with a layout that accommodated the steady flow of diners, and even though it was consistently busy, the operation ran efficiently and the atmosphere stayed lively without feeling chaotic. The soup dumplings are the clear highlight and are the reason we would recommend coming here. We ordered a few baskets and found the wrappers thin enough to hold a generous amount of rich, flavorful broth without falling apart, and the fillings well seasoned. The classic pork soup dumplings were a must-order, while the pork and crab version was another standout if we were looking for something with a little more richness. Beyond the dumplings, the menu had plenty of other Shanghainese favorites, including beef noodle soup, pan-fried pork buns, scallion pancakes, fried rice, and a variety of appetizers that made it easy to share several dishes. Each plate arrived hot and well assembled, and the consistency across the menu gave us confidence in ordering beyond the signature item. We walked into a casual, local space with a straightforward setup that works well for a simple meal rather than a long dining experience. The seating is limited, and the use of paperware even for dine-in orders gives the restaurant a practical, neighborhood feel, the kind of place where the focus stays on the food rather than the atmosphere. The biggest highlight is the wonton noodle soup. The shrimp wontons are larger than the typical Hong Kong-style wontons and are packed with shrimp flavor, giving the dish a more filling feel. The noodles have a good texture with a slight chew, and the broth provides a light but comforting base that ties everything together without overwhelming the other components. The beef options are also worth trying, especially the braised beef and brisket, which add a richer, more savory flavor to the noodles. Beyond noodles, the menu has a variety of classic Hong Kong-style sides and add-ons. The curry fish balls and fried fish skin are popular choices that add different textures to the meal, while the Hong Kong milk tea works well as a drink pairing, with a smooth, slightly bitter profile that cuts through the richness of the food. There are also vegetarian options available, giving the menu more flexibility for different preferences. Service is generally quick and efficient, and the portions are filling for the price. The restaurant can feel busy during peak hours due to the limited seating, but the turnover is fast enough that the wait does not feel excessive. The presentation is simple and functional, and the overall experience feels rooted in the kind of quick, satisfying meal that Hong Kong-style noodle shops are known for. Maxi's Noodle is a solid place for Hong Kong-style comfort food, especially if you are craving wonton noodles. The large shrimp wontons, chewy noodles, and affordable portions make it a worthwhile stop, offering a meal that feels both familiar and satisfying without any unnecessary fuss. It may not be the most polished dining experience, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a simple, comforting bowl of noodles done right.
