    Snowflake Beef Rice Casserole
    Ka C.

I did a takeout of this place and have not dined in before. I got the Snowflake beef claypot rice, it comes with a packet of sweet soy sauce but honestly it is not needed as it is already pretty flavorful. Beef was tender and generously portioned. Rice was already seasoned with soy sauce and is on the drier side which is better for claypot rice. They had a meal deal that came with a lemon iced tea which was pretty neat. I wouldn't say it is 100% authentic Cantonese but it has clearly taken inspiration from it and is a pretty good take.

Came here for lunch and it's a good spot for affordable eats Pros: - Even though there was only one waitress, she was fast and efficient - They offer a wide variety of clay pot dishes. The premium beef and the Cantonese sausage were the standouts for us - Very affordable prices Cons: - The pancakes had an odd texture and weren't our favorite - Limited street parking

Great if you're looking for some cheap eats. A better experience if you speak Mandarin, as the staff didn't speak English. Ambiance is okay - it's a very casual spot for a meal; many more delivery drivers came inthan diners. The claypot rice is good- rice comes pre seasoned though which isn't the authentic Cantonese-style, but it was still pretty good. Frankly you will get what you pay for. the premium beef is chewy, but hey it's still only $11 for that bowl. The dumplings are mad cheap too and they're quite good. and i loved the beef scallion pancake; the filling was delicious. Many of the dishes were oily... not excessively so, but it didn't have the most crust/crispy rice on the bottom due to whatever oil they use cooking the claypot dishes.

The food was good. The service wasn't bad. The ambience was okay. Nothing really stood out. Some of my rice burnt. They might have over cooked it.

I don't know if this is Taiwanese or whatever cantonese call sausage..... all I know it's definitely not worth it!

Broccoli not fully cooked but it's ok, but only few pieces of sausage... half of the egg... mostly everything OILY!

Great prices, big portions, salty foods & only 1 waitress serving the entire restaurant!! The pigs feet & pig ears were under cooked & rubbery!! Don't get the pork or crab & pork steam buns since they don't taste good at all!! Overall, definitely wouldn't go back!!! But You can most definitely try it out & be your own judge!! Enjoy!!

Food is horrible. It is cheap. We ordered beef brisket casserole. Beef brisket is chopped to pieces. It doesn't taste fresh, lacked the meaty flavor. Best dish is the eel rice casserole. Rice isn't oily. The dumpling taste like it is from the supermarket.

In direct proximity of the LIRR Murray Hill Station, Mr. Bobo offers a rare exclusive focus on Cantonese clay-pot rice dishes, which are difficult to find at the more generalist Cantonese eateries across the city. Unfortunately this dish is not known for its vegetarian inclusiveness, and a miscommunication with the staff resulted in us ordering a taro rice pot that is decidedly not vegetarian. While the vermicelli rice pot was quite bland, the excellent house-made tofu pot redeemed the experience for us. The tofu appears to be similar to Japanese egg-tofu, with a custardy center that pairs well with a hot bowl of white rice.

I got the eel claypot rice with snowflake beef add-on. My favorite part of claypot rice is usually the crispy rice on the bottom, but maybe because I ordered delivery, there was very minimal crispy bits. It tasted like they took the rice out of the claypot after 30 seconds. I was also disappointed by how little eel they gave me. The snowflake beef was just okay. The rice was also a little too saucy so it was a bit salty.

It was my first time visiting, and I found the menu a bit difficult to read due to the small text. The appetizer selection was somewhat limited, and part of the menu featured hot pot and spicy dishes. We decided to try the pork belly, a clay pot dish, eggplant, and shrimp balls. The food arrived quickly and was served piping hot--just the way I like it. The pork belly was flavorful and delicious, although it didn't come with rice. The clay pot dish was a hearty combination of meat, rice, broccoli, and an egg. While I found the eggplant a bit too oily for my taste, it was still enjoyable. Service was attentive, and the restaurant was quiet, with only one other table occupied during our visit. I'm considering trying a few more dishes for takeout, as the location is super convenient--right by the Murray Hill LIRR.

I've been searching for a clay pot rice/ rice casserole specialty restaurant for months!! I was so curious when Mr BoBo popped up on google maps. We came on weekday around 8pm. The restaurant is pretty spacious and was about half full when we walked in. They were out of the snowflake beef casserole so we ordered the braised pork ribs ($8 + $3 for chinese sausage) and the cha sui casserole. Both came with broccoli and a fried egg. We both liked the braised pork ribs one more. It was saucy and flavorful. The rice was crunchy at the bottom - just amazing! The cha sui one was dry and the rice at the bottom got burnt. The lichi shrimp was also very delicious. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating. Overall, this is a solid place to get your rice casserole fix. I can't wait to be back!

The ambience is stellar. They put a lot of effort in the decor. The service was decent. So why isn't the ratings higher? It's the same reason I don't like a particular Vietnamese chain in Flushing: it's not authentic. Majority of the reviews complained about the flavor profile being off and the lack of sweet soy sauce, so I must mention something to get it out of the way: this place is NOT Cantonese. It's Cantonese-influenced, but it's not Cantonese. I thought it's a dead giveaway with the Taiwan Pop in the background and how the establishment speaks mainly Mandarin. But if you didn't know, now you know. And try to see it as an Cantonese-influenced restaurant and you might be more forgiving that there's no sweet soy. - Beef Udon Noodle with Black Pepper Sauce: very peppery. Udon is chewy. It's a good dish, but I don't know if the claypot was necessary. - Claypot Eel over Rice: Flavorful without the need of extra soy. The only complaint is broccoli. Why is it broccoli. I was sharing this dish with a friend who hates broccoli, so I ended up eating all the broccoli. Broccoli isn't even a traditional ingredient to claypot rice, maybe they should switch to chinese broccoli?

    Alvin Z.

PREMADE. Don't except good quality. You want good quality? You need to order more. Got their clay pot rice to go with sausage and it was pretty okay. I think the sausage was good, or expected, but I feel like everything else was lacking flavor. BADDDDD SERVUCR NO ABSWER ME CANCEL MY ORDER??? ANGRY. But called them they said it's ok??? NO PPL THERE EITHER. One star for price.

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! There's complimentary parking if you validate your ticket with a nearby garage, but you need to spend a minimum.

We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

My favorite was the shrimp cheung fun--it's one of my go-to dim sum dishes, and this one did not disappoint. We also ordered from the menu the pan-fried noodles with beef, which came in a surprisingly large portion and was very tasty. Service was quick, and the food arrived without much wait. One thing to note is that the dining room feels a bit tight, especially with the traditional dim sum carts moving around the aisles. Since we have relatives who live on opposite ends of Queens, this location has always been a good halfway point. Two things: 1. This place is truly exhausting during dim sum on the weekends. People will try to get on top of you (and I don't mean that in the best way). 2. Dim sum selection is intentionally small and service is slow to provoke you to order the expensive entree dishes. The dim sum is nothing to write home about at all and is just sufficient enough for any dim sum craving. There's no consistency with the quality, as well as the quantity. The same also goes for the large dishes, though I've only eaten dinner here once or twice since the new management, and there wasn't anything memorable. Service is generally okay, but the employees are definitely overworked during the weekend lunch hours. It's as if everyone who doesn't live in or around Flushing comes here, hence the insane crowds.

Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

The service was decent, but the food just didn't deliver. At dinner, the salt and pepper pork chops were thin, over-fried, dry, and lacked flavor. The BBQ duck was especially disappointing -- it tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. Overall, the dishes lacked seasoning, depth of flavor, and that smoky wok hei you expect from good Cantonese cooking. Lunch was slightly better, but still inconsistent. The congee itself was good, though the dried squid was so tough it felt like chewing on rubber. The steamed rice rolls with peanut sauce were another letdown; instead of being freshly steamed, the noodles seemed microwaved, making them firm and dry rather than soft and chewy.
