During a recent trip to Nashville for my cousin's bachelorette party, we came across WannaB's while on our way to another bar. One of my cousin's LOVES to karaoke, so of course we had to check it out. We got there shortly after they opened, so there was still a good amount of seats, but the place fills up quick. As majority of bars in the Downtown Nashville area. There's a DJ in the back where you go to give him your song to sing and a stage in the front where you get to entertain the bar. Since we were one of the early groups once they opened, my cousin didn't have to wait long before it was her turn. I imagine if you're there when it's packed, the wait times are LONG! So, something to consider if you're getting there later in the night. There are TV's everywhere, displaying the lyrics to the songs, so you can sing along if you don't know the lyrics by memory. As for the drinks... nothing to write home about. It's a bar with mediocre drinks and cold beer! We didn't stay long since we had plans at another place, but our time there was so much fun! The DJ kept it lively and fun. Would definitely recommend going if you're into karaoke. read more

Good vibes and fun! I will say, the sign up list to do karaoke is VERY long! So don't expect to walk in and sing anytime soon. I think we got there at 10ish and didn't sing until 1am lol. Shots are $10 each, but equivalent to the amount of 2 regular shots. If you like country music, you'll love this place lol. If you don't (like me), it'll be a little difficult but you'll still have a great time. Also, there's no line to get in!!!!! read more

Nashville delivered! Not only these San Diegans was able to wear thick coats because it's freezing there! But I also got an opportunity to get some karaoke on. This place was unbelievable! Pure fun! We got there at 7:30 pm last Saturday to pregame before going to another venue and they have 42 singers! At 7:30 pm... 42 singers! I've never seen anything like that here in San Diego. I guess people from Nashville really take their karaoke game on point. It was a blast and less than an hour and a half I was able to sing a song. This place was super fun. The singers were all really amazing, and the drinks were moderately priced. It can be pretty busy, so be prepared to wait for your song to come up. I also thought the no slow song thing was weird since the DJ clearly took some really slow moving songs throughout the night. read more

WOW!!! What a FUN venue and fun staff!! Be sure to ask Stu at the bar to sing for you! If you're lucky (or tipping well!!) he'll serenade you and the whole bar!! Visited Nashville for the first time. I'm considered a very good singer but at karaoke, it's all about the song choice. You'd think being in Nashville country would be the obvious choice. Well that's probably true but karaoke can be anything you want it to be. The KJ was way in the back and easy to work with. Pulled out some good versions of my request and the diverse crowd was very energetic. I wish had had friends with me but I'm the type that can talk to anyone and the people I met really got the crowd jumping. I'm 60 and this Crowds mainly mid 30s to 40s but I love it when the twenty year olds get into the songs I sing and the 20 year olds killed it for me. I'll be back someday because I don't Wannabe anyplace else. read more

I love, LOVE karaoke... but Wanna B's leave a lot to be desired. On our visit it was moderately busy and several people wanted to sing but to get "on the list" we had to tip the KJ with our song selection... uncool. I am a great tipper and will always tip for good service, but a tip is just that, a TIP. It's not a fee. Treating it as a fee... means you're obviously not doing your job well enough for people to WANT to TIP you. Wanna B's has a big, high stage (optimal for taking funny karaoke photos), a full bar and there isn't a bad seat in the house (great mix of tall and low tables and a big rectangle bar that's easy to get to. The atmosphere is good and vibrant or it's totally dead... the song selection is amazing and like all the other karaoke bars in town, there is no book- but if you know your "songs" they will more than likely have them. The drinks are strong and not too pricey and apart from the "KJ TIP FEE" the staff is friendly. It's location, right in the heart of Broadway, is ideal and it gets crowded, but never TOO crowded like Lonnie's, Ms. Kelli's or Buck Wild. Overall... I like Wanna B's a lot. It was the first karaoke bar I went to in Nashville and it's probably the nicest one of the 4 or so downtown... with a new KJ and some kind of "we're open", call to attention, hey look at us promotions/signage/etc... they'd probably be the best by a long shot (the place ALWAYS looks closed). If you're in downtown Nashville, you should check out Wanna B's... we're famous for our great karaoke singers! read more

If you are visiting downtown, put this bar on the list. Very fun karaoke bar. A lot of talent hits the stage, with a few funny drunks in between. Big bar with easy access to drink service all night. Highly recommend even for just an hour or two. They served pizza by the slice hear as well and it was actually really good. Only downfall to my experience was a drunk guy grabbing woman trying to sing on stage. Security choked him out in front of everyone and then they took him in the back to god knows where. read more

This karaoke DJ has a tough job. Went two nights on the weekend and was surprised by the amount of 'drunk singing'. Been doing this for abt 25 years and this place is ok and super touristy. They don't really need to have a good set up when they get so many non-local singers. Sound system isn't set up the best, making it hard to hear yourself up front. Easy to get out of sync. Waitress first night was completely awful. Hint: don't spend all your time on this level... go through the back bar by the restrooms and then go upstairs. It takes a lot to shake me and this place did so and more. Unbelievably rude bartender and manager and sketchy stuff going on here. That's all I'll say about that. Should have known this place was a bad idea when we walked in on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm and not a soul was in the place besides the DJ and bartender. Not a soul. We had wanted to check this place out because karaoke sounded like a fun idea. First, the bartender had her back to us almost the entire time and we had to say excuse me each time she was on her phone texting to get her attention. Asked her if she had an outlet behind the bar to charge my phone and she snootily said, "No, we don't take responsibility for anyone's personal belongings." That's actually fine with me but she was hella rude about it. We did some karaoke up on the stage and the place again, was sketchy as hell. People were going in and out of this door and some weird stuff was happening. Their bathroom is connected to Tequila Cowboys so you had to go down a hall and around the bend to access it, it was just straight up weird. Couldn't find my coat at one point so asked the bartender if anyone had turned one in and she tried to make it seem like I was accusing her of stealing it. She went as far as to get the DJ or manager's attention about the coat matter and the DJ made an announcement over a loud speaker and spoke, "Our bartenders don't steal people's coats so stop accusing them of doing so and no cursing at our bartenders." You've got to be kidding me. Cursing? Not once did a curse word come out of my mouth, we were livid. Livid. She couldn't have been more rude and unwelcoming and she was causing unnecessary drama that put a huge damper in our day. Never ever ever would I recommend anyone coming to this place. It's disgusting with some real winners for employees. Plain and simple. read more

Every time I listen to Beyonce's Love on Top, I think about the girl that sang it up on stage. Her passion and delivery was incredible and just blew everyone away. It is one of the unforgettable Nashville memories that have stuck since I left. We got a nice balance of really talented singers killin' it up on stage and fun and wild drunken singers entertaining the crowd. My buddies and I enjoyed this place, some of them even went up on stage and started singing and dancing to Salt N Peppa's Push It. It's a town chalked full of aspiring musicians - some of them pretty decent, others... meh. Oddly, some of the best singers I heard on my visit to Nashville were to be found at the one place where the singers were the patrons. Tourists, business men & women alike, all throwing down their best efforts on their favorite songs. This was my absolute favorite spot on broadway. We had a good time at other bars but this place is the most fun I have had in a long time. We walked in at about 8pm and were the only ones in the bar. We were disappointed at first but sat down to have a beer. Once we started singing people POURED in and we were glad we claimed our spots because the place quickly became standing room only and also completely filled up! The rest of the night I spent singing, laughing, drinking and making memories. If you are looking for a good night and great time in Nashville please just dedicate one night to this place. Previous to this place I visited 10 bars on broadway however from sitting here for an hour no one ever approached me and asked if I would like any drink or food of any kind. WannaB's isn't your "let's go laugh at terrible singers" kind of karaoke bar. This is Nashville. The bartender or any random waitress could probably out sing the majority of people you know. Yes, there will be the occasional crappy singer. Yes, there will be a drunken bachelorette or 3 who try to work through putting a ring on it. However, my experience is that most singers are entertaining and worth the stay. If it ends up not being your cup o' tea, walk to the back and step over to the bar next door. read more

We stopped in here early one night thinking that we would have a few drinks sing some bad country and start off our visit right in Music City.. man were we wrong! I did have a few drinks but you would have thought some of the people singing were giving their own concerts. Apparently this isnt a Karaoke bar but an amateur night some nights.
