New HH menu recently added. Happy hour all day, any day, anytime. Literally! For $12 you pick a roll, and an appetizer off the menu. No worries, there's tons of good stuff of the HH menu! Gotta love it! I tried the Seattle Roll and the Lion Roll which both were equally good and beautifully presented. The raw fish was fresh and melted in our mouths. We were pretty hungry after a long day at work, so thankfully the complimentary warm edamame with flecks of rock salt kept coming! Our server was a bit slow or maybe she was over swamped but it would've been nice to have utensils to eat with, soy sauce for the sushi, etc. The sushi chefs were great and had fun, upbeat personalities, chatting amongst other diners. That's what gives a sushi restaurant character and soul! The chef also made complimentary squid salad for everyone in the restaurant to try, it was delicious!!! My favorite dish was the Agedashi Tofu, probably one of the best I've tasted around town. The deep fried pillows of tofu sit in a fragrant & very savory broth. They fry it well: the batter is thick & crunchy. It's the best of both worlds, crispy soaking up the juicy broth. But never soggy! So think there was a tea charge, kind of lame. But overall price bit higher than most places. Tea charge bit unacceptable. Won't order that again. 1 small cup not worth it. I don't miss living in the international district after finding this place! We had a feast tonight and our service was great. I am so sorry to the kitchen since we were the last people there but we really loved everything and will be back for sure! The only complaint would be the bathrooms my wife said were impossible to find and very far away (not really anything they can change though) We got a couple things but our favorite was the BBQ short ribs. A little pricey but a very generous portion and very tender and flavorful, sizzling on a cast iron skillet. The katsu pork was good but the breading kept a slipping off the meat. Oh and the udon soup we got was huge and the noodles were great! Other pros: clean, nice menus with pictures, linens, ambiance all around was good, chef and server were friendly and professional. The sushi options are good and prices somewhere in the middle of the pack. I love the Lion King roll and the deep fried crunchy roll the best, the Seahawk roll is also yummy. There is a list of spicy rolls if that's your thing that I am not into but they look so good!! So tasty! I'm bummed that they don't have a partnership with any of the food delivery programs I use but I love that they offer take out so I can still pop by and pick up my favorite dishes. They aren't the fastest sushi place around but I actually prefer it that way because I know that they are taking the time and care that it takes to make quality sushi at a very reasonable price. Great food and good atmosphere! The only thing holding it back is the price. I know that sushi tends to run on the pricy side, especially if you want it to be quality...but i was a bit shocked at the price tag when all was said and done. If i could give it 4.5 stars I would. My husband and I went here on a recommendation of a neighbor. I'm glad that we did! We ordered the firehouse roll, alba garlic roll and Seattle roll. They were all so fresh tasting and full of flavor. The waitress was so apologetic of the wait (it wasn't long) despite the fact that the sushi chef was obviously working as quickly as possible. This is another one of our feeling too lazy to cook/let's go grab something local spots. The staff is VERY friendly, and are very helpful whenever you have any questions about items on the menu. The food is yummy, and they have a variety of foods (sushi, seafood, meat entrees, dessert) for everyone. The pricepoint for their meals are very much affordable...depending on how hungry one is, the price is roughly between $10-25/person. They also have an ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR menu that has several different options as well. We go out to eat quite a bit, and this place never disappoints! This has been my favorite sushi joint for YEARS--in fact, it's the first place I even tried real, gourmet sushi rolls that didn't come from a supermarket. The quality is top notch and I always leave stuffed to the brim. It was a little surreal to bring my family here now since I haven't been here since getting married. Our VERY picky child who never eats anything unless it's goldfish crackers or fruit snacks got super excited when her platter of chicken teriyaki and rice was placed in front of her. If I knew I had a few days to live, I'd make sure I eat Wasabi Bay sushi as many times as I can. This little unassuming place in a strip mall is as good as sushi gets. My hard-to-please sushi lover friends and I have been going here for a long time. We have been spoiled. We tried to find a place to top Wasabi Bay all over the Puget Sound but we haven't succeeded. The bottom line is their fish is always fresh. The presentation is meticulous. I love their geoduck butter yaki and never miss it when available. Even their tuna is better than tuna you get elsewhere. The lunch menu is great because you can customize your order with many things at a reasonable price. Sushi isn't for take-out. Delicious sushi and great service! I'm so glad friend took me to Wasabi Bay! 3 of us went here for dinner last night and ordered a TON of food. We asked the waitress what her favorite rolls were and then ordered all of them! The fish had lots of flavor but was not overpowering or too strong. Everything was just right. Our favorite was probably the Margarete roll. Perfect blend of spice and flavor! The prices seemed a bit high but hell, most sushi places are so that didn't bother us. I took out my cousin to this place after we heard it was supposed to be a good spot for sushi. Being a California native and having gone to many great places for sushi, this place didn't amaze me at all. We just made it for their lunch special where we could pick an appetizer and an additional dish. I got the udon and the Seattle role and my cousin got the gyoza and the California roll. I thought the udon was pretty good. The sushi itself was lacking and plain. The gyoza and CA roll was ok as well. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're a sushi nut like I am. read more

SO disappointed. Took 20 minutes for a server to even come over for our order! Chaotic menu with lots of options (I do like the in: & out: style of explanation on the menu). We ordered a basic roll, a tempura roll, a baked roll & a crunchy roll. They were all terrible. Quality of seafood was sub-par & "fishy" at times. The tempura roll was deep-fried like a jalapeno popper (super crunchy, very greasy) instead of classic tempura. The baked roll had a small fire burning on the plate (intentionally as decoration) & the roll was still on tin foil. Prices seemed higher than other places - with the average roll $12-$13 & sake prices seemed higher. Their "all day happy hour" is a rip. Essentially it's two lists & you pick an option from each list which saves you about $3. We won't return esp with all the other sushi options in Mill Creek. I have to agree with the others, the fish here is less than super fresh. Whenever there's a "fishy" taste, you just know it's been sitting there a tad too long. We went for dinner, and there was only one server for the entire restaurant. This didn't worry us as there was only one other occupied table and two men at the sushi bar. When we placed our order, we were indecisive and started with a few items, as one never knows how quickly you'll fill up on sushi. Our server told us this was no problem, that the evening was slow and we could order more later. She was very friendly but it was surprising how difficult it was at times to get her attention for water refills, etc. Yes, the service was slow. We did enjoy the complimentary edamame and my fiance entertained himself by swishing it around in his water glass since they appeared to have been attacked by sea salt, and we finished our beers long before we saw our food. That other table had left while we were still waiting, and the folks at the bar were just drinking, based on what I could see, but all we could do was wait, and so we did, and the time eventually passed. Despite the aforementioned fishy-taste issue, we were still hungry and contemplating ordering one more sushi item when the server informed us it was "last call" for the sushi bar. I can't say I've ever had that happen before. She had reassured us when we first ordered that we could order more later, but because it took so long to get our order we were now told to hurry up for last call. Not cool. Especially when within minutes of being told this two more people entered the restaurant and were seated for dinner. What's up with that? I give it two stars for two reasons: 1) the unexpected treat of calamari! It was an appetizer, perhaps the only decently priced item on the menu, and it was delicious! The tentacles were long and meaty, it was prepared fried- barely, and not the least bit greasy: and the "breading" was very spare, with much of the flesh visible, not suffocating under an oily crust. The wasabi tartar sauce was tasty, and the little salad served as garnish was wonderful, too. 2) Atmosphere-wise, once you step inside, you'd never guess you were in a restaurant in a strip mall- no windows overlooking the parking lot, and the dining area had an unusual shape. Came in for an early dinner on Sunday night and stumbled upon their sushi happy hour. $3.95 for a large Saki, $6 Sushi combos, $10 deep fried sushi rolls. We ended up ordering a Wasabi plate which came with 6 pieces of nigiri and a spider roll. We also got the happy hour combo (chicken skewers + seattle roll). The sushi tasted good and fresh. I can see the negative response to the service since there is only one waitress/hotess but since there was only 3 other table with patrons. She manage to get my water filled and came back on numerous occasions asking if we enjoyed our meal. All in all, the service was pretty good. The prices were fair and my sushi roll, which I can't remember what it was, was huge! So stinkin long, like the longest sushi roll on the planet. It was decent tasting, not great, decent. Watch out, under new ownership. We used to love this restaurant have been coming here for years. We walked in tonight and try to have sushi. None of the same waitstaff none of the same chefs under new ownership. No big deal we love this place we saw that they had mostly the same food so we give them a shot. Several people came in after us and we're waited on first. We had to ask for water. It took over 40 minutes just to bring us one simple appetizer. And after waiting over an hour and watching three other people who came in after us get served, we decide to leave. When we went to the front desk and ask them what happened, they just said oh so sorry so sorry. They didn't offer us dinner in compensation. They didn't try to keep us there they did nothing to rectify they're wrong. Very disappointed we will not be back. Makes us very sad. read more
