Fresh and quality sushi! We ordered several rolls and hand rolls and everything was great. My favorite roll and must try recommendation is the kiss of fire roll. The filling was the best combination of jalapeno, smoky seared salmon, crispy tempura shrimp - all put together with this zesty sauce. Given how fresh everything was I trust this place to finally try the sashimi platter next time. Also ++ this place is open till 9;30 weekdays and 10PM on Fri/Sat which is rare for restaurants in the area. Only places of improvement I can think of is faster service, we waited 25 mins for our food, but it was a busy Saturday night. Also they serve ginger and wasabi with each plate of sushi that comes out, this leads to some wastage which could be avoided. read more

Covid review Great value, great service! Saturday open at 12, we are the first table and people quickly fill in. It's not a big restaurant, with every other table seating, seats will be filled very quickly. Fir bigger parties, sashimi platter makes more sense. It's 30 PCs for 1-2 ppl, then 40, 50, 70 down. For 2, it's cheaper to order the 15 PCs set, which is still cheaper than the sashimi platter. The fish are beautifully presented, big PCs and fresh. It came in 5 varieties. Tasty and good value! We were craving sushi after an intense gym sesh and my friends had actually recommended this place for dinner (good protein for the macros, I'm all in lol). I can see why it's one of their favorite sushi spots! It wasn't super busy on a Sunday night and we got seated right away. First thing I noticed glancing at the menu was how reasonably priced the nigiris were. Typically you would associate that with mediocre quality fish, but this was not the case. I ordered the hirami (amberjack) nigiri and it was delicious! The flavor was clean, mild, and buttery. Tasted very fresh and not fishy at all. Good fish to rice ratio. Two pieces for $6.95, what a steal. Next, the rolls. Honestly, it's hard to pick a favorite because they were all so tasty. But here are the highlights: - Kiss of Fire Roll: 5 stars for this roll itself!!! Loved the spicy kick from the jalapenos and smokey flavor from the seared salmon. The shrimp tempura in the roll had a light and crispy batter and the shrimp itself was tender. We even asked for extra jalapeno slices on the side to amp up the heat. - Dragon Roll: Probably one of the best dragon rolls I've had! Every bite was full of flavor. I wanted to order a second round of this lol. - Rainbow Roll: Fresh and tasty! No complaints, just wasn't as memorable as the other two rolls we ordered. After some day drinking at Ruby Hill, sushi was calling my taste buds. My friends and I wanted something nearby and Wasabi Bistro popped up, menu looked promising so we decided to try it. We ordered: Garlic Edamame- get this!! It was really good, I like edamame in general but the sesame oil and garlic in this made it a favorite. Garlic Albacore Tataki- also really good and good portion. Came with raw onion and I'm sure you can guess by now I like anything garlic and anything spicy. A "clean" healthier choice but with lots of flavor. Dynamite roll- wasn't spicy enough for me but wasabi fixed that, lol. Fresh, good size roll, can easily share. Sushi Combo C- was a mix of nigiri and a few basic rolls I think it was spicy tuna and California roll. Also fresh, no complaints. We came by for a sushi craving as we were driving through Livermore. We arrived once they opened at 4:30pm so it was perfect timing. Very nice inside with dark walk and cushion seating along the walls. We were sat promptly and they took our drink order. The menu is organized nicely with a description of what each roll has. So helpful because different restaurants have the same names for their rolls but are way different in what they have. Every single roll we ordered was so good and tasted fresh. The teriyaki chicken dinner included a scoop of rice, broccoli, Miso soup and a side salad. We came hungry so we ordered a few different rolls and I tried every one of them. In the order of my favorites, which were very close, were... The caterpillar roll, 49er roll, tempura roll, spider roll and salmon roll. The California roll was for my son. The service was great and prompt. They checked on us to make sure their wasn't anything else we needed. I would definitely stop by when I come on through. read more

I enjoyed this place so much. Me, my husband and toddler and another couple went on a Sunday around 3pm and we were the only ones there! My toddler snagged a whole ball of wasabi off our friends plate and our superwoman waitress caught his hands and helped us get the wasabi off. A LIFE saver!!! The sashimi was melty and thickly sliced. I enjoyed the salmon very much and the tuna my friends had was bright red and tasty as well. I enjoyed the salmon hand roll, they spare no expense on loading it up with sashimi or your choice and it held sturdy while eating. The OYSTERS THOUGH. We've been coming here for years. Rated them at 5 stars on another account on Yelp that we no longer can access due to old email address we no longer have access to. But, point is, we came here for the quality and affordability. Unfortunately, within the last month, they raised their prices to the point of no return for us... The large bottle of Sapporo was 7.95, today it was 12.95. The Orange Daisy was 13.95, today it was 19.95. The WB Roll was 13.95, today it was 19.95. The Super Rainbow was 19.95, today it was 23.95. The Negitoro Roll was 9.95, today it was 12.95. So, each of the items went up in price by approximately $5 to $6 each. That is about a 30% to 40% increase on their prices. Hence, the emptiness of the restaurant on a Saturday night, when you normally would wait for a table to open up to be seated. read more

The vibe is wonderful: I've done both Sunday best and Saturday game night as they have a TV. My only complaint has been that the wait can be frustrating or unpredictable. There isn't much to do around so I recommend calling in prior to arrival for dinners always. This was especially difficult during covid as the number of tables can be misleading. This is a place I wish I had tried sooner. The medium sashimi assortment was a perfect size for 3 people to share. I loved how they fried the large fish head at the end of our dinner. It was crispy and a great conclusion to our meal. The uni shooter is a must-have. It had so much uni in it, and it tasted smooth, sweet, and fresh. Wow. So let me start off by saying I did not expect much from a little sushi spot inland of the Bay Area. I definitely underestimated how good this place could be. My friends and I (3 people) ordered Wasabi Sashimi Medium and we started off with the complimentary miso soup, side salad, and vegetable tempura, which were all great! My favorite tempura is always sweet potato and that was fried to perfection! It was a light crunchy fry of a soft, sweet potato. When the sashimi platter came out that's when it really delightfully surprised me and my friends. We didn't even know where to start with the abundant slices of sashimi everywhere! As we happily ate each piece we kept saying that slice was our favorite, so basically.. every slice of fish was our favorite LOL. But honestly it was! All the pieces were so fresh and tasted so delicious. I highly recommend this especially if you want quality fish that is definitely worth the price. Later on, of the waitresses came around offered to fry the fish (skeleton?) inside the sashimi platter and wow that was amazing too. The sweet house sauce on top of the crispy fish made such a great finish to our meal. We also had the negitoro roll which was a delicious fattier piece of tuna inside a roll with green onions. It was so good! I loved how fresh and light it was since rolls usually can be really heavy and as you can see.. we had a big meal haha. Oh and I cannot forget about the uni shooter. Wow. It was my first time having a seafood shooter and that was quite a delicious drink. My friends who have had oyster shooters from other places before said this was by far their favorite. The little sourness from mixed drink paired so well with the creaminess of the uni inside. I cannot even tell there was alcohol inside... but oh I felt it LOL. Overall, a solid sushi spot for a quality, delicious meal! We went on a Saturday afternoon and was seated very fast, so the wait shouldn't be an issue! The space is pretty big with ample seating. Here's what we ordered: Small Sake - smooth and light we enjoyed this Agedashi Tofu - tofu was perfectly fried and seasoned it came with ponzu dipping sauce. Perfect! Vegetable Tempura- also perfectly fried and it was tasty Mixed Sashimi for 2 - this plate came with 9 different varieties of sashimi nicely presented on the platter. My bf has been hyping this place up for a while, and we were finally in the neighborhood to stop by! We arrived around 8pm on a weekend, and it was pretty busy. We put our names down on the Yelp wait list, and were second on the list. We received a text message to come back when our table was almost ready. I ordered the chirashi bowl and my boyfriend ordered the dinner bento box, with tempura and tuna nigiri. We also had the agedashi tofu for the appetizer. I thought the dinner bento box was expensive, but a small bright side is they were generous with the tempura. As far as my chirashi bowl, the fish tasted really fresh and it was yummy. This place is open for takeout and I can't wait to be able to eat here again once this pandemic ends. I put a picture in of their salad which is like a chirashi mix of various sashimi fish. It has a Catalina type dressing and crunchy julienned carrots and cucumbers. It also has wakame salad in it too! It's such an amazing deal for about 12.99! Great dish to share and also for guests who have never eaten here when they see it they will be wowed! In our to go order we got 2 Crazy Monkey rolls which is tuna and mushrooms and fried asparagus. We were driving home from a girls shopping trip. We wanted sushi so this restaurant popped up as #1. The reviews state about a long wait. We were prepared for a wait and sure enough, the 10 minute wait turned into a half hour. Once we ordered and got our food we were VERY happy. We all finished everything on our plates. This place doesn't look like it would be popping from the outside, but its actually quite popular! I found the Sashimi to be very fresh and beautifully plated. Unfortunately they don't take reservations, so it's definitely worth showing up for an early dinner or late lunch to avoid rushes. The Wasabi sashimi special XL was perfect for my family of 5 to eat our fill. They even fry the fish after so you can eat what's left on the bones and head. Definitely a fun experience if you're adventurous like that. I thought it was absolutely delicious! 2 complaints - 1) the vegetables in the tempura were kind of old. For example the asparagus was tough and unchewable. This was pretty disappointing given that the plate was already so small for our group. 2) the service was kind of slow. Wow, I'm really impressed. 4.5 stars, but I'll round it up to a 5. The quality of the fish, the portion sizes, and prices are top-notch. I assumed that the fish might not be the best quality or be on the smaller side since it's quite cheap, but that isn't the case at all here. The nigiri was fresh, and the uni was great! Creamy, sweet, and well-portioned, and I can't believe 2 pieces only cost $9.95. Such a steal. The other nigiri pieces tasted great too, but the toro did taste slightly fishy (to me), which was a bit disappointing. But the star of the show was definitely the Kiss of Fire roll. This is probably my favorite roll I've ever eaten, which isn't said lightly lol. The seared salmon, jalapeño, sauce, and crunch from the tempura is delicious, and it all melts in your mouth. On my way home from Los Angeles, I stopped over in the city of Livermore. We were all craving for some sushi. Note: check waitlist or make reservations early due to it gets packed fast. We arrived at 5p and patrons started trickling in. Lots of items on their menu but what makes it different from the rest of the Japanese restaurants? I'd like to say their quality in sushi. Freshness is a must and of course with the Wasabi Bistro twist. My favorite roll was the scallop and salmon roll. But here's the kicker their platter of assorted fresh sashimi was one absolutely divine. At the end they fry the carcass and the head of the fish, which was amazing. Service was awesome, our waiter always checked on us. Atmosphere quiet due to everyone was enjoying the moment of their food lol By the time we were done, there was a line out the door. We came here for dinner on a Sunday night and this place was great! Although the Yelp app said the waitlist was closed, there was no wait time when we arrived. Our food came out quick and we really enjoyed how fresh everything was along with the beautiful presentation. We are not from this area but we will definitely make the trip out to try again. We came here on Saturday at around 3pm when most other Sushi restaurants are closed and it did not disappoint. The servers were nice and gave us time to review the menu. We started with oysters and they were delicious, I can't remember the last time I had a oyster that fresh. We then ordered a 15 piece shashimi and again amazingly fresh. My husband said it was the best shashimi he has had this East of the bay. We then ordered a few rounds of rolls, they were all great, it does take a little while for the food to come out of the kitchen but it is worth the wait. Had just finished shopping at the Livermore outlets and stopped by here for a quick bite. The place was not overly packed since we had arrived just after 5pm. We quickly ordered a Chirashi bowl with an assortment of sashimi on a bed of rice, unagi roll, and some beef teriyaki to up our protein intake. Let's just say the soup was scorching hot! I had moved my leg from under the table, moving the entire table with me... unfortunately the soup spilled on me. Not a pleasant feeling! The Chirashi and unagi roll came out pretty quickly. We ate the shared roll in hopes of getting the beef teriyaki shortly after. Boy, were we wrong! I finally received the dish after both the sushi dishes were finished! Either they're understaffed or they completely forgot about my order. Quality of sushi was okay, but it is a bit cheaper than the East Bay. I recommend putting more weight under the tables so they don't move (and customers don't end up burning themselves from spilt soup!!).
