Terrible unsmiling service. Walked in there (after dining her multiple times) and stood there for 15 minutes waiting to order something for takeout. The sushi guy just watched me stand there, never said a word to staff that I was waiting, and the service staff saw me standing there and just walked back and forth from the kitchen and ignored me. Absolutely surreal. I prefer Ichiro, which is outstanding Japanese food and is very high end, with service that reminds me of a 4 star Michelin restaurant. Wasabi is in a strip center and easy to pass by. But it's worth seeking out. This is the third time I've been there but the first time with a big group. Eight of us came for dinner and Maxine took great care of us. She didn't miss a thing and she was friendly and helpful. We ordered many dishes - a few sushi dishes and mostly Chinese dishes. The servers know absolutely zip zero about fish or the rolls.. Wine and beer only. They don't know Jack about wine either... The owner is a young guy who drinks beer at the sushi bar. Kind people. Yummy hole-in-the-wall / mom and pop restaurant ! Delicious "everyday" sushi . They make sure you are taken care of! Sushi rolls are SO GOOD you can tell the rice is made perfect(which to me that's 1/2 the sushi roll ..is in the rice) we special order rolls A LOT HERE & the workers/ sushi master never complains they just do it with a smile on their face. I would love to support a small business, but the sushi was less than average ...always worrisome with raw fish. It didn't even seem cold. The menu is large as if they are trying to cover all Asian food. Food was more like a jack at all trades, a master at none. This was our first time here - I had questions about the Tuna Tartare and our waiter, brought the sushi chef to our table to tell me more about it. Don't ask - just order it. They have the best Hot and Sour soup I've had in decades, their eggrolls are fantastic and I love their orange chicken, my wife adores their Pad Thai and their shrimp Yakisoba. This is the first time to try this restaurant and the last time. The seafood delight was mostly inexpensive vegetables and almost no seafood. The calamari tempura is made with cheap commercial batter which is not nearly authentic. Fried rice has virtually no flavor and the Singapore noodle had a sweet taste that should not have been there. Also, the rice wasn't exactly sticky rice thus eating with chopsticks was a challenge along with the crunchiness of the rice. The egg-drop soup was a little salty. Overall a good place though. The food and service are excellent. However it's garnering a less stellar review because they raised their prices by in excess of 10% and didn't note it on the menu nor while ordering. I learned of it when my eyes popped out of my head at the bill. Transparency is Business 101, and they are being dishonest. They aren't any Uchi or Soto, so the prices should be in line with what they always have been: affordable. I queried the staff and they said all prices were raised by the "new owners". I ate here many years ago and gave it a 2-star review and if it weren't for my friend living in Georgetown and this being the closest sushi place open late on a Sunday, I wouldn't have eaten here again. I'm very glad everything lined up where I did try it again because this was a great experience! The sushi this time around was excellent. The rolls were substantial and they were very generous with the fish and crab in the rolls. The rolls had a good amount of sauce on them and each roll that we had looked and tasted very different, something that's difficult for a lot of sushi restaurants to manage. Plus, the pricing was very good. Very large rolls for about $12 a roll. I loved everything we ate here tonight and just wish I could remember what they were called! LOL. I do know that one of them had soft shell crab and it was very good. In addition to that, the service was very good. We came in shortly before closing, which I know from working in the restaurant business is very annoying, and yet they warmly greeted us and acted like they were very happy we were there. Just happened to be in the area and I felt like eating some asian food. Looked on my map and Wasabi came up. I figured I would give it a shot at about 7pm. Since I don't usually hang around Georgetown, I wondered what area I was going to. After 10 long minutes of driving down a country road, I appeared at a chain of restaurants/stores in a shopping center. The exterior looked dark. I wondered if this was a restaurant or a take out place. Inside was a completely different story. It was a fully furnished restaurant with a oriental look, complete with a sushi bar. The restaurant was actually half full, with quite a bit of people already there. Good sign. The waiter said I could take any seat, so I sat in a booth by myself. I asked for hot green tea and they offered me a glass of water too which I accepted from a long day. Another waiter came up to me and asked me if I would like some alcohol or a sushi roll. I asked her for some recommendations. She suggested she loved the, "Out of control roll" so I decided to try that. I later ordered a beef yakiudon, which was fried udon noodles with vegetables and beef. I was hungry, but not that hungry. I also noticed there was Chinese food in the back of the menu too. Based on the menu, there were a lot of sushi combinations and they were focused on that. My salad came first, then the yakiudon. Soon as I was eating my yakiudon, the out of control roll came. The Yakiudon was what it said it was, fried udon noodles with beef and vegetables so it tasted good. They didn't go crazy on the msg like other restaurants so that was good. The out of control roll is another story. Apparently with it's ingredients they put a lot of things together and it tastes just like it says it does, but the cream cheese dominating. This is great if you want to try everything at once and tickle your tastebuds, but if you want to savor the taste of the different seafoods specifically, this isn't the best option. The staff was friendly and the service was great. I would definitely return here and try different items. read more

Horrible spot... do not come here if you are coming out of town. We drove over 3 hours to come here. I was shut down at the door because they did not update there time.
