This evening I wanted sushi for dinner. I work in Dunwoody so, despite some negative reviews, I decided to eat at Wasabi House. I am so glad I did! I enjoyed the best sushi I've had in a long time. Came here for lunch with some coworkers, should have just turned around when our feet stuck to the floor from not being cleaned. Ordered an iced tea and bento box, the tea was old and probably hadn't been made for a week. We dined in, and our food came out in to-go containers. Super odd since no other reviews have plastic containers in the photos. The meat was chewy - and the sushi roll on the plate was not fit to eat, including brown avocado! Yum! From the moment we sat down, he made the experience unforgettable. He's warm, funny, and super attentive without ever being pushy. He remembered our names, gave amazing recommendations, and even anticipated what we needed before we asked. The sushi itself was fresh and beautifully presented, and the hibachi dishes came out hot and flavorful. But honestly, it was Christopher who took everything to the next level. Service can make or break a restaurant, and he made it feel like we were regulars even though it was our first time. Where to start? I walked in to an almost empty room waited forever to be seated where the very rude busboy told me to sit wherever. The seats were hella uncomfortable. Screens were hella slow I wanted tap water but the waiter forced me to to have ice water. There were no small party seating which really annoyed me. When I asked for chili oil the waiter proceeded to deliver me sweet chili sauce. Had such a disappointing experience tonight. My friend and I frequent here and have always had a fantastic experience. However tonight, the server and the manager were extremely rude after getting my order wrong. They implemented a new iPad ordering system which made me want to try something new. After receiving my food, ingredients were missing that were clearly included in the photo they had on the iPad and on their official website. Instead of taking accountability, the manager on duty made excuses and made me feel unwelcome due to their mistake. She said "everybody knows how our food is served and whats on the photo is not correct." All I asked was that she didnt charge me for the premium price, and just charged me for the regular price. She then says "Do you not want it? I can just take it, if you dont." There are other sushi places that wont treat you rudely and also have better quality food. read more

If you're not use to good sushi then you will probably give this place a high rating - however - if you KNOW how Sushi should taste beyond the shelf at Publix then you know this is barely average . Went a few times and no improvement plus with 3 tables of customers and mainly empty inside we still had to wait 25 mins for sushi to be made. My husband & I wanted to try a new sushi spot in Dunwoody so we landed on this restaurant. However the service we received landed them with a rating of 3 stars. We arrived and were seated immediately; it was not busy to be a Saturday evening. You are able to order on the iPad that's at the table. So that's what we did. We order 4 specialty rolls. However when the server brought our food to the table I was so disappointed because it looked nothing like the picture. They were missing so many items and garnishments. They even made an incorrect roll for us and I told the server we didn't order it. She insisted all the rolls were correct and I told her none of them looked like the pictures. So we went into detail to describe each rolls. She brought over what seems to be the manager and she tried to tell us the rolls were correct but we were not convinced because it did not look like the pictures or descriptions. She didn't said those are old pictures. Which I was disappointed by because instead of trying to fix it, she kept coming up with excuses. Finally she took all the rolls back & said she'll double check with the head chef. I hate sending food back because I've heard of too many horror stories about the back kitchen doing nasty stuff to your food if you send it back. So I paid attention to what they were doing. They had the head chef (Asian man) come out and check the rolls and we were absolutely correct. They were done wrong and missing so many garnishments. Apparently there was a (Hispanic) looking person who rolled our rolls and he didn't do it right. When they finally brought the plate back the second time everything looked just like the picture. The server did not apologize to us, nor did they give us any accommodation for having to wait on them to re-roll what they messed up. The food was decent "after the fact". Would I return? No. Base off first impressions. There's too many sushi restaurants in Atlanta and if you can't treat your customers with gratitude and appreciation I don't care how good the food is, I will not return. read more

So, I really contemplated giving this place a single star, but the servers, even though they were really short staffed did stay attentive as best they could. A young blond lady took care of us and there was also a young man, maybe early college age, running it all. They were a little saving grace. We ordered shrimp and steak yakisoba, chicken hibatchi, a bagel roll, and three pieces of nigiri. The hot food came out first, and the steak and shrimp was cooked pretty ok. The chicken was undercooked, but we decided to take it home and try to finish the job because we felt bad for them. The veggies it comes with were a lot of onion, two pieces of zucchini , and a piece of carrot. The rice and noodles were ok. The meals also did not come with soup or salad as advertised. The sushi roll was decent, like what we would expect from a Kroger. The mackerel nigiri was foul, it was dry and tasted old, and a little warm. The masago and tamago were ok at best. I would not recommend nigiri as the quality and taste were not good. They also were out of menus and the online menu had no prices which was a little confusing. The location was in a cute area, and the ambiance of the restaurant was kind of like an Asian Cracker Barrel. So have only loved in Dunwoody for 1 years now and still trying all the food options there are to offer and there are many. Was really looking forward to some hibachi tonight and decided to try Wasabi a house since it is less than 2 miles from the house. So the evening started a little slow as they were slow to greet us as we waited at the front door. We were taken to a booth where the seats are not attached properly and they rock and move around. Again a sign! The server came to us and honestly asked what we wanted? No introduction, no suggestions, no upselling and no drink offers or suggestions. We ordered a simple tea, beer, and spider roll to start. Then ordered two hibachi dinners. The dinners arrived before the drinks or the appetizer. They were ok but nothing special. The chicken did have a smell to it so neither one of us finished them. The drinks arrived and honestly the tea was soured - from yesterday!! The spider roll arrived and was not good at all, not sure what was in it but we would not touch it - looked rotten and smelled worse! The server never came back to check on us. Never asked of something was wrong with the food when most of it went in eaten! So while we have had some great experiences and food in Dunwoody this is one we will not be back to or ever recommend. A lot of training needs to happen here and possibly some more management over sight! read more

I had a got the tuna avalanche it was actually really good if you like tuna tartare. They put a lot of it on top not in the sushi. I'm a more sauce on sushi person so I would've preferred like a sweet chili sauce or maybe like a Yum Yum sauce on top of it and it would've made it great but how they have it was pretty good. I recently called to order through the phone, every roll I mentioned the hostess said they didn't have it even though i have been going for years getting the same rolls and I had just checked the menu online and seen the rolls on the menu. im eating the sushi and the skin of the fish was still on the tuna in my roll. it was completely unappetizing and has never happened to me before at wasabi house until now. i won't be eating here again. read more

Son varies between shrimp tempura, shrimp skewers, and chicken teriyaki. Wife usually had been getting salmon box, but this year nabayaku udon every once in a while. I have sashimi or rolls sometimes, but mainly chicken dolsott . It's described as a hotpot bibimbap . Crispy version excellent Youngest Daughter gets variety of items. Most recently eel dish, a salmon outside on flavored tuna inside (that I started ordering too). But this week she found a new home run: beef sukiyaki: udon noodles, beef pieces, and in a beef broth. I REALLY don't understand the super negative reviews for this place. I found it to be a SOLID four stars for food, but I'm giving it five based on service and environment. I went with my two little kids and a friend - we got an assortment of sushi and cooked food for the kids. My two year old wanted to eat the sushi...she did. My four year old wanted a second order of shrimp it was so good to him. Our server looked at my two hungry kids and had our hot fresh tempura appetizer out in minutes. Smart move. The sushi was good - not a ton of complicated roll choices but the ones we got were made perfectly and the fish was fresh. Portion sizes were huge, so it justified the price tag and we would order less next time now that we know. Even items like the ginger salad were hearty compared to the like, 3 pieces of lettuce we've gotten lately at some other Japanese restaurants. The miso soup was really good. Asahi beer perfectly cold. This is a great little spot in Dunwoody I'm only bummed it took us so long to get there. We'll be back! read more
