They were short staffed so there was a wait. Ok fine. But why instead of servicing my table (3 black women) the server immediately went to the table of white people first? We ordered 4 Bento box and we were surprised they brought out 4 plates of California rolls for each one of us. We were expecting 4 rolls and we had 9 rolls for each box. We're definitely coming back. Meh, it was ok, won't be back with so many other options for this. Can't speak on the sushi, but there are much better options for teriyaki around for lower prices. The dumplings were not house made and mediocre at best. The chicken katsu was not authentic at all, the breading was way too bready. The quality of the meat wasn't bad but still questionable. Also got chicken & shrimp teriyaki. The chicken was gamey, it had a funky taste. The portion of veggies was lame and sad, soggy and mostly cooked cucumber which I don't care for. This was my first visit to the Wasabi House. It is tucked away in a nice plaza that has a majority of restaurants. When you walk in, it's dimly lit so it instantly takes you out of your world & thrusts you into a world of zen. The music is low but has some hits of today playing...but it's not annoyingly loud so it's enjoyable to listen to. The service was really friendly. From our waiter to the owner, everyone was nice & attentive. Even when my wine took 30 minutes to get to the table the owner brought me the wine with a little more wine than usual & apologized for the tardiness. Our waiter, too, apologized so for me that makes for great quality service. When you care enough to apologize more than once that lets me believe you care about patrons coming back! The food was really delicious & fresh. I ordered the Tuna Avalanche & boy was it an avalanche of Tuna! They serve you enough to fill you for the evening. Been Dunwoody residents for over 30 years. Hickory house, Burger King, ya shu yeun, all gone but Wasabi House has stuck through! We usually do takeout and the chicken bibimbap bowl is worth it in every aspect. Fresh, good sized portion of meat, great flavor, and I feel somewhat healthy. I have been here a couple of times and really enjoy it! It is a tad expensive compared to other sushi places, but I think it is due to supply and demand -- there just are not a lot of sushi restaurants in the area. The times that I went, I got the Yellowtail Special, Salmon Crunch roll and Volcano roll. I also tried the Spider roll, of which I was a fan. All the rolls I have tried are great, I have also tried the yellowtail sashimi as well as the scallop sashimi. No complaints there. My first visit there, I also ordered a chicken teriyaki kids' meal for my 1 year old daughter. I probably wouldn't order it again as I feel it was quite overpriced and not as good. The second time I went, I ended up ordering the potsticker appetizer for her, which she did enjoy. So I am happy to know there are options for her as well. Bland, uninspired, and depressing. Those are the three best words I can use to describe my time at Wasabi House. The service was mostly apathetic. Aside from taking our order and bringing out the food, they didn't come check on us again until we wanted our check. No warm greeting, no smile, basically void of customer service. Food: I got the sushi A combo, which contains the expected salad and miso soup, along with a California roll and 6 pieces of sushi. Let's say that the sushi you get at the grocery store is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. This is a lowly 1. I don't even like California rolls, but I know what they should taste like. These had no taste. The rice was barely sticky, and not enough seasonings to make it "sushi rice." All the meat I tasted was all super bland as well. I don't mean it just tasted like poor quality lacking in freshness; I mean it was basically absent of any savory meat taste! Even the miso soup was off. I didn't even drink half of my cup. You know what the best thing was? The small salad. That's how sad it was. And for my $16 combo, not even ice cream at the end? That was the exclamation point at the end of a terrible experience. We've only discovered Wasabi House since the early part of quarantine. We've never eaten at the restaurant but takeout has been excellent and thus earned them a place in our rotation. I love their yakisoba, any variety and my kids enjoy the chicken katsu. The wife's go to is the shrimp teriyaki bento. I have lived in several cities and have gone to the "trendy" places and this is still hands down my favorite. I usually get a sashimi platter and a roll --- sometimes I have odd requests but they always fulfill them (light rice, add avocado etc.) The service is always great and friendly and they remember things we request. My mom doesn't come often but she always gets a side of some spice (not sure what). And now when I come in with her they immediately bring it even though it may have been 6 weeks since she last came in. LOVE this place!! read more

I paid for fried rice and got some bland lightly colored white rice with egg in it and teriyaki sauce on the side..which I didn't ask for like that, so I'm still confused... I got the chicken and steak, the chicken was bland and the steak was over cooked.. I asked for medium well... the vegetables were bland and I was completed disappointed. I've brought people to eat here bc I was always impressed with the food, but that will not happen again. I even told the waitress, that I was not happy with the food and she advised me to pour the teriyaki sauce on it. Apart from the food being bland and boring, it serves great filler if you have nothing else to eat or no other choices from which to select. For $40 to feed two people, I imagine you have a plethora of other options. We purchased a couple of rolls (conventional) and the chicken teriyaki plate... which left me empty.
