I've heard such great things about Wasabi Sushi Bar, but my experience was underwhelming. The chicken was very dry and the rest of the box was just okay. The sushi at least was good, so I'd suggest sticking to ordering just the sushi menu items. Maybe they were having an off day, but it looked much better than it tasted.

I am soooo glad I didn't go off ratings and went off recommendations from a friend! This location is a whole vibe!! Service is great! Food is spectacular!! And the environment is chill. I have been here twice now! Getting the same thing Poke Bowl with Yellowtail and Dragons breath sushi roll

The food and the service was great, but oh man did the prices go up! I get it, but we will continue to comeback.

I typically do a carry outs from wasabi on Tuesday with the $7 per roll deal. Recommend to place an advanced online order with specific time for pick up. If you order ASAP on Tues, you most likely gonna wait for a LONG time and get . Restaurant is so packed and tons of carry out orders. But definitely worth it on Tu price! I love playboy and crazy rolls. Not a huge fan of rolls with cream cheese and they have quite a bit of that. Edamame is also great and not too salty. They are always generous on ginger and wasabi which is a huge plus for me!

This place is so good. I wish there were more sushi places that have this kind of vibe. I'll be back again. ***Authentic, clean, delicious***

A great happy hour experience! Food was fresh and fast - we stopped by while waiting for another event. I have to say - I prefer very limited wasabi flavor and most roll options had some sort of wasabi topping on them which made me have a limit on menu options - but it's in the name so it makes sense!

They are the SLOWEST restaurant in Kirkwood! Ordered delivery and it took hours to arrive. Insane. Won't order again.

The vibe when we visited was less brewery and more unsupervised playground. Kids were running around barefoot, throwing mulch and rocks, while plenty of parents sat back with drinks in hand. My wife and I, along with several other guests, were repeatedly getting hit with rocks from children running around the property. Maybe this was an unusually busy night, but it was hard to relax or have a conversation between the constant chaos, the trains, and the swarm of kids treating the place like recess. I'd post photos, but every picture is mostly other people's children, and that doesn't seem fair. If you're looking for a quiet drink or an adult atmosphere, you may want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a place where the kids can run wild while the adults have a drink, you'll probably fit right in.

We had a good time playing pool and there was a male bartender making our first drinks that was very friendly and conversational. The female bartender made our second round of drinks and was more standoffish as if we didn't fit the "dive bar scene" since we were dressed up a bit. We enjoyed a couple rounds of pool and watching the World Cup game then we left before karaoke was about to start. Bar itself has plenty of seating and nice lighting for the bottles. After learning the story about the owner and the bar, I'm very happy this place is still open but I don't think we'll be back.

It was very loud when we visited, not because of the karaoke, so it was a bit difficult to speak with the bartenders. I guess people were having a good time! There are lots of drink choices at reasonable prices. There is also food, which I didn't try. For the karaoke, you go up to the KJ get into the queue, and then add your songs across the evening for each of your turns. There was quite a variety being sung. You sing in front of the fireplace. There is a little bit of room to dance around the edges but not much. Despite being a "nonsmoking" bar, there were patrons vaping indoors and there was a cigarette smell inside (perhaps wafting in from the smokers outside?). The ladies bathroom was very clean. There is free parking outside in their attached lot, but you might have to get creative if you get there later in the night, as the lot gets crowded. This bar has a fun vibe for your friend group to go blow off some steam, but probably not a good place to take a first date.

A one of a kind dive bar that is great for Blues games. Originally a filling station in 1904, it converted into a tavern in the 1930's. Grandfathered with local liquor licensing, TGI almost went extinct in 2010 when longtime owner Frank Rodman passed away (RIP). In 2012 it was purchased by former Blues hockey player Jim Campbell and his wife, Jennifer (a Kirkwood native), who did a thorough refresh and renovation. Jennifer's great uncle actually owned the tavern earlier in the 1960s, so it was a natural return to the family. They have a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. Didn't see a food menu (need to confirm cause looks like maybe they used to) but bar snacks (pretzels and chips). Someone ordered pizza delivered which seemed like a good option. The vibe is like you are inside a house, with couches and a fireplace. They have a small back patio to enjoy nice weather and they do allow smoking outside. For games, there's Golden Tee, a jukebox, and steel tip dart board (which was kinda blocked by Golden Tee). If you happen to be in Kirkwood and feeling thirsty, check it out. I'll definitely be back to watch more Blues Hockey!

I ended up getting the LW burger with pub cheese and it came with shoe string fries, the burger was thick and juicy, while the shoe string fries with garlic aioli as my sauce was, perfect! This is a pretty good family atmosphere, they have high top tables but also had high top high chairs! A real positive in our book, haven't ran into many restaurants that have this option. I would suggest if you have little ones to order your food when they take your drinks because the service can be hit or miss depending on the time you go, and food can take a little longer than expected. I only saw two high top tables for two people and they were in corners. So we sat in a corner on backless stools. Stools in restaurants should have backs!Pretty uncomfortable and we won't do that again. It also has really high ceilings so it got pretty loud in there. Our server was Erin and she was good! The place was packed inside and outside (in the rain - there were umbrellas over the tables) so the staff was super busy. She kept the drinks and food coming at a good pace. We started off with drinks and onion rings. We had been told how good the onion rings were so we had to order them - they lived up to the hype! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is. He had three different ones and didn't really enjoy any of them. He tried Tidewater Plains, Master of the Universe, and Batholith. I had a Jungleberg cocktail and liked it so much, I ordered another one. The server said they were out of them. There were five ingredients in the drink so I have no idea what they were out of. I ordered a Spicy Ancho Margarita and it was okay. It shouldn't be called spicy, because it is not. I ordered Chicken Wings and Onion Soup. Yes, it was summer. But it was cold and rainy and soup sounded good! The soup was very good - very cheesy and they didn't put a chunk of bread in there to get all soggy, which I appreciated. The wings were okay. They were way too saucy for me. My husband got the Philly and said it was okay, but nothing special. I would have probably given 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. I'd go back for the onion rings!
