I was able to get a lot of school work done and enjoy my food. I had the panic roll, holy crab roll, miso soup, and salad. I couldn't finish it all but it was all very good. The salad had a different type of dressing on it that was kinda sweet but tasty. The only mishap was the chef forgot to add specific sauces to one of my rolls. Though we were there mid afternoon close to their afternoon closing time, we had a good and quick experience. Note - the restaurant closes around 2:30 pm and reopens for dinner at 5 pm. On plate was the Orange Blossom - excellent, excellent and so fresh! We ordered another roll and it was good too but I forget the name - green something. Presentation was beautiful. The sushi and gyoza dumplings were SO good. This was my first time here. Ordered the avocado roll and Philadelphia roll. The staff also was extremely nice. But I only give 4 stars instead of 5 because the ramen was incredibly disappointing. It was just liquid with some bok Choy, tiny stringy pieces of what seems to be the pork, and then a bag of the ramen noodle that I understood was to be mixed with the actual soup so I did just that but the actual texture of the noodle after soaking in the soup was so odd. It felt like I was eating rubber bands, like it wasn't the typical texture one would associate with ramen noodles and I'm a huge ramen soup fanatic. This was just bad. I would recommend maybe switching up the actual noodles? The soup base itself didn't taste terrible so I enjoyed sipping that (I guess better to cut down on carbs anyways). In theory it sounded good (oooor maybe not), but I probably wouldn't have ordered it again. The avacado was mushy and it made the rice redundant. Not cool, but just another example of how you can ruin your own meal. My boyfriend got the OMG Roll, which was shrimp tempura-filled and crabstick topped (then again, show me a roll that has something fried and sucks. See? Not possible). So we ordered, she placed the order came back brought our drinks and extra plates, "sharing plates" which is awesome to tried each other's orders. When she brought our orders and went to refill our drinks. We notice a strip of paper, another smaller menu. So ask our waitress what it was. She said," it was their specialty sushi". We had tried acouple of sushi bites by that time. We decided to try the speciality sushi so ordered the Toro sushi, tuna belly. It was good. She came back asked if we wanted dessert, we said," we were good" and brought our check. The waiter I had (Austin) was very polite, attentive and served in a timely manner. The food was incredible with very unique options. The fish was fresh on the rolls and on the nigiri. Everything here was just like 2000 times better then all my usual haunts back home! The dipping sauce for the tempura was even tastier than anywhere else. And oh my - fish so fresh and tasty. I had to order an extra thing of take out cause I knew I'd want more later. No lie. When I got home I was still craving sushi. But my local didn't come up to snuff any more, it all just tasted like dead raw fish. Sad. Now I'm on the hunt for someplace as tasty as Wasabi here in DC. read more

Time for a review update! We came here around 9:30 at night on a Friday. There wasn't anyone else here, but service wasn't good for just being us. We were pretty much ignored. Of course, the husband ordered his beloved Shrimp Tempura roll. He also ordered a Republic Tea. They brought out my water, soup, salad, and our appetizer before they even told him that they were out of the flavor he wanted. His roll sat on the counter for 15 minutes with our waiter nowhere to be seen and sushi chefs doing nothing. I told him to go get it, he wouldn't so I did. So now not only is he upset they failed to tell him no Republic tea, he had to wait to for 15 minutes for his wife to bring him his sushi, and then his beloved roll was falling apart on him.. lol They only perk is that they are close to home and a nice quiet evening when they don't piss off the husband. read more

The place is small and is a hole in the wall, but very cute and quaint. The owners are very friendly and it's fresh for not being near an ocean. I love their spicy tuna rolls but they have other great rolls too. It's hidden in a strip mall right past the Hulen mall. It's near Buffalo Wild Wings and the Used book store. Pretty standard, but we played it safe. Went here on a shopping trip with my daughter. She loves sushi rolls. We ordered the California, Philadelphia, Rainbow, Spider, Avocado and one of their specialties the "OMG" roll. She's 11 and into texting so we HAD to try that. The OMG roll was fairly amazing. I don't even remember what all was in it, but it came with all 7 house sauces swirled across the plate, which made it sweet before dousing it with wasabi and soy. The others were all good. This is a cute place in a strip center across from the Wal Mart. They have lunch specials and combo sushi dinners that looked reasonable. I didn't try it, but the Garlic Infused Chilean Sea Bass looked really good. The folks next to me ordered it. The first time I tried Wasabi, I was pleasantly surprised. Awesome lunch special. When I returned with a friend for dinner at a later date, I was expecting good sushi and sake and instead I got not one, but TWO tiny cockroaches crawling across my plate. I told the waitress (who was apologetic) about the roaches and being that I had only eaten about half the roll, she was going to have another one made for me. But at that point I was done eating for obvious reasons. Unfortunately no accommodations were made to me and I still ended up paying for the roll and full price for the meal. I will be avoiding wasabi at all costs in the future. Good sushi is no good coming from a dirty facility. read more

Surprisingly high class for the location it's in. I know this is probably a poor way to judge things but before going in I based this place entirely on the quality of the sign out front. I figured "yeah it's in a strip center but they have enough money for a good quality sign so it can't be too bad" and I was right. When you walk in you'll notice that it's very clean and well kept. Nice decor and an awesome staff definitely bump this place up from your run of the mill sushi joint. They have a lot on the menu such as various grilled items and then your sushi/sashimi and a good appetizer list. I started off with the lobster egg rolls which came with deep fried asparagus and it was delicious. I glanced over the sushi menu and it was kind of pricey so I decided to stick to the rolls. I'm not sure what it was called but it was various fishes ie: salmon, yellow tail, and it was wrapped with cucumber, something I had never had before. It was hard to tell the exact quality of the fish because the cucumber roll overpowered everything. It made the plate watery and it was a bit harder to eat than the traditionally thin nori wrapped sushi. My friend got 2 other spicey rolls and one of them came out on fire which was really neat looking and tasted great too. I'm definitely planning on coming back here when I have some extra dough and I'll be staying away from anything wrapped in cucumber because Wasabi Sushi deserves a second look. read more

I was in the area for a quick lunch during the week and found this place. Cool, modern sign out front actually drew me in. I ordered the chef's sampler sushi and miso soup. They have great miso soup which is a good test of any sushi restaurant. The sushi was very fresh and quickly served. One of the funniest/ironical parts of the experience was that they didn't give me any wasabi...I had to ask for it. I found that strange but dismissed it as a slight oversight? One of the best sushi place in the DFW!!! The foods are great! Those chefs know how to cook Japanese food, seriously. Qualify of the foods are different from other franchise suchi places or any other sushi restaurants because one of the chefs, Mr. Lee, is about to graduate from the famous chef university in Dallas soon as I know, and the other guy loves to cook more than anyone else. I think that's why their foods are different from ones made like factory products in other sushi restaurants. Wasabi sushi dishes are not just foods. They are like beautiful arts you can taste with your tongue!!! Price is a bit high but not the top class high. The quality of foods, the restaurant's interior design, and the music deserve the price. I recommand this place for a date. Love to have the beautiful suchi plates with sake (Japanese wine) or wine!!! The 5 stars are only for the foods and the environment.
