Wash 'N Dry is a clean, well maintained laundromat. Thier big washers accommodate up to 50lbs of laundry. The are dryers are efficient and save you cut down the time and expense. There's a laundry supply vending machine, an ATM standing-machine, two TVs (usually on local sports or a soap opera), and three change machines! Wow. Only front-loading washing machines are used but there are multiple sizes for your needs (per wash starts from $3.25, $4.50, $5.50, $6.75). Dryers are just one size, large, but there are many ($0.25/6mins). Very rarely is a machine broken so wait time is minimal if at all. Parking is hit or miss since the laundromat is part of Park Merced Shopping Center. However, may park in the back of the building and go in using their second door entrance. I really wish this place was bigger and had more room. I decided to come here because it is local but wish I had considered some other options first. I came with the mindset of getting 4 large loads of clothes finished within an hour to 2 hours at most. This place was packed and filled with eager people waiting to wash and dry their clothes. First off, the parking is a bit frustrating in that there is parking behind the laundromat but in the front it is just too small for people looking to wash clothes. There is a good chance that some of resident from Parkmerced park their cars in this lot as well, at least during the day. Secondly, a lot of the machines here are not big enough for washing big loads of clothes. The cost to wash versus the amount of clothes that can actually be washed is a bit maddening. However, the spin cycles are very efficient and time goes by quickly for that process. Next, the dryers are what you would expect from most laundromats, $0.25 for 15 minutes of drying time. That is the amount at most other places that I have been to in the past. As for the space, the need to somehow expand this place fro seating/waiting and folding clothes. Once my clothes were dry I need to fold them, but unfortunately I had no room and place to fold because: (1) one lady took up a whole table to fold here clothes and (2) there is not enough room for multiple people to fold their clothes. Bottom line, if you're a college student and don't mind waiting around to get your clothes done late in the evening or early in the morning this place is for you. Aside from the obvious patrons that were here and willing to tolerate the morning/afternoon chaos I would suggest going somewhere else if you can. I've been having to use this place for the last six to seven months. Costs, convenient location, usually available during the times I need to do laundry, yadda yadda. There are several sizes of machines for various load sizes so that's nice & all. BUT ...most visits to this establishment bring varying frustrations. Everything from 'campers' holding on to one of the seven (that's right, seven) baskets for the entire place even when their loads have over ten minutes left & all I need to do is ferry wet clothes across the room to a dryer; to the front door sticking open & blasting people with cold air at night; to half the drivers being in need of repair but technically 'working', to the one or two people with more than six to seven loads each occupying most of the available machines; to people toking it up just outside the aforementioned stuck open front door & fouling up clean clothes (yes, my clothes stank of pot after one trip); to the floors that never seem to be cleaner than the forgotten corners of a basement with hair and debris getting all over a clean but accidentally dropped shirt; to the change machine randomly deciding to short you a quarter or two; to many driers coin slots being so gummed up you can get a quarter in but not down or out if it wont read; to todays shining example of an owner/operator overstepping their bounds today. Which, of course, brings me to this review I'm finally deciding to put down here. In the past, I've had the occasional washing machine change water temperatures on me after having started it. This has happened only three times. But the first time, it shrunk a few articles in a warm wash AFTER I chose cold for the cycle. So from that point on, I had to babysit each washer for a minute to make sure it doesn't surreptitiously change temperatures again. Fast forward to today, I load my stuff into a machine & pump an obscene number of quarters into it, press the 'cold' button...& lo & behold, it changed from cold to warm! Pressed the cold button again, it changed again. A third time it didn't initially change back to cold & I let out an exclamation of dismay thinking I couldn't effect a temp change anymore. Here's what pissed me off enough to leave this review. The woman running the place came over to see what had illicited my concerned 'Oh no!' It was at this point I said "It's just switched temps on me a few times; from cold to warm! I feared it was stuck on warm. I've ruined articles of clothing here before because the machines sometimes switch after a temp has been chosen." What did she do? Without asking, she rudely reached in front of me, pressed the 'warm' button changing it from cold back to warm a fourth time, THEN asked, "You want 'warm'?" "No! You aren't listening! Your improperly maintained machines have damaged my clothing by switching temps without my input before. Why would you change it without my input to warm when I just said that has damaged my clothing before?" I $#!+ you not, she actually said, "just watch it." So in recap, this place has nothing close to decent service to you if you value clothes that don't get ruined or less than smarmy owners making choices for you without listening or comprehending what you've just £¥€%!Ng said to her. She's either maliciously apathetic to people or she's just a simpleton debile. Under no circumstances is it appropriate to change settings on someone's laundry if they haven't asked for it. Why would she tell a customer who brings to her attention there's an error in her machines, "just watch it" rather than take note to have the issue addressed? Why wonder fix the bad door threshold that lets in a chilly draft while you stand in one place folding your laundry? One may justifiably ask why I continue to do my laundry here. Cost, availability & logistics. But, damn! It could seriously be an average & acceptable laundromat if she was nicer (or maybe just a tad more smart & caring) & maintained her facility better. In summation: definitely do your laundry here if, like me , all you care about are the three things keeping me here. But please have some more respect for yourselves & go elsewhere if you don't want damage done to your clothing or if you don't feel like being disrespected by a cur. read more

Ok I need to put a review even though usually I don't. The closing time is 11pm! I went before 11, at 10:50pm and they closed it up already! I have three loads of laundry inside that I haven't get... I want to know why they do not provide a phone number to call for urgent reasons? Like if I got there before 11 I should be able to call them to come back so I'm able to get my laundry!! They close whenever they want - not the hours posted on door! This is the second time it happened to me - even after the woman cleaning saw me come in and put my laundry in the dryer at 10:10pm. I had put it in for 30 minutes and she could easily see how much time was left. The hours posted on door indicate closing at 11pm. I showed up at 10:40pm and both their rear and front doors locked!!! The flashing neon light still said Open" and there was no phone number listed to call them. Now I have to risk someone stealing my laundry (as many reported happens) in the morning because I can't get there at 6am or whatever time they decide to open. Absolutely ridiculous! Very upsetting! And by the way - these are the highest laundry prices you'll see in the city. They take advantage of people living here - very sad. read more

I am really grateful to have a laundromat nearby my home. It is very convenient and the prices arent that bad. I can usually do 2 loads of wash and dry for under $20. To fit my work schedule during the week, I come to do laundry around 6:30am (their hours open at 6am), however, the past few weeks, the door is locked and I have to wait 30-40 minutes until somebody drives by to open the door. Avoid on the weekend !!! weeknight gets are ok. There is one long folding counter across the whole back of the store, and another teeny one up front. The whole big counter is reserved for the 3 ladies doing wash and fold, so be prepared to stuff your clothes to to your hamper and fold them at home. Also there are some large sized washers, which would be great, except they are mostly used for the wash n fold and if you do get into one they will get bossy about if your time is up yet (mine was still washing!!!) Also most of the rolling basket were filled with wash and fold waiting to be folded, while I had to haul my wet clothes to the dryer in bathed. The woman who gave the 1 star review is clearly a whore who doesn't know what she's talking about. Eileen who runs the place on weekends is the nicest person on the face of the Earth and offers Parkmerced's best kept secret Wash-Dry-Fold service at a mere $1.10 a pound. I've used her for over a year now and cannot tell you how awesome she is an how quick the service is. She usually turns my laundry around in a couple of hours, allowing me to enjoy San Francisco on the weekends and not slave over laundry. You can't get that ANYWHERE else in the city. There is plenty of parking, particularly in the back of the building. And not many people know this but if you park behind the building there is a rear entrance that can easily be accessed. So stop fighting with the lines of people doing laundry in the Parkmerced complexes and come here instead. read more

This laundromat is a great addition to the Park Merced neighborhood! Anyone who lives there knows that Park Merced has dinky little washers that hardly fit one load. Doing your laundry there can be so frustrating and time consuming because there are only four washers and dryers in every laundry room. It totally sucks to spend the day hanging around the laundry room in combat with other tenants just to make sure you can actually get a dryer! There has got to be a better way!!! What makes Wash 'N Dry Laundry so awesome is that it is so close to Park Merced, it has four sizes of well priced washers, and two different sized dryers that actually dry clothes all the way and in a timely fashion. Washers clean clothes in about 20 minutes which makes it easy to wash a bunch of stuff thoroughly and efficiently. It is the cleanest laundromat I have been to in the area. I can hang out there and watch the TV's or use the free wi-fi while waiting for the laundry to finish. Washers start at $1.75 and dryers are 5-8 minutes per $.25 depending on which size is used. There is also the amazing Cafe Reina next door where you can eat delicious pastries while waiting. The laundromat is open from 6 am - 11 pm everyday. Machines are coin operated with quarters and three change machines. There is another little machine in the back that dispenses detergent and supplies for $.75 in case you need some fabric softener or a laundry bag. If you drive, there is ample parking in the front as well as parking in the back and accessible back door entry. They also have a clean restroom, which earns extra points in my book! In a nutshell: I washed all my comforters, pet beds, and three loads of clothes and did not spend more than an hour doing it. I needed to do some laundry and looked around on yelp and found this one and thought I'd give it a try, i admire that it is very clean and has new-ish machines. That being said i was very surprised to find out that it is 4.00 to wash a load and .25¢ to dry a load. It is good that to wash it only takes 22 minutes and 6 minutes to dry. Clean laundromat with big 40 pound washers which you can put 3 loads (sign says 4 but its actually 3) of clothes for $4.75 for 31 minutes. The dryer fits 2 loads of clothes and it is a quarter for 6 minutes. It is clean but place fills up fast w students and some homeless people. There is no bathroom. The lady who comes in to clean usually arrives around 10 pm and tells everyone that the laundromat will close at 10:45 pm when it's posted as "11 pm". I've witnessed customers calling the manager at 10:55 pm saying that the doors are locked and their laundry is still inside. The manager/owner himself is understanding and is quick to come by. Either have your employee adhere to the posted times or change the business hours to reflect it. This place has a great facility. But the lady who was working there today was THE WORST LAUNDRY LADY EVER. She was hoarding machines and dryers on a Saturday. Two washers were empty but she had her basket in front and wasn't budging. She forced me to over fill my machine and that caused it to leak. She just threw a nasty towel on the ground. Gave me a dirty look and said You have to wait. It'll be 5 mins before I can turn it on. Ok whatever. When it came time to dry it was the same thing. I'm counting 4 machines that have 4 towels or are sitting there finished and dry but she's not emptying them. I've done laundry here 3 times before on week nights and I've never seen her. This place is always clean and I am always able to put my stuff into a washer or drier immediately. No waiting! The only reason why I didn't give this place a full five star rating is because the, "free wifi" advertisement is definitely not true. FREE WI-FI! Where?!? I couldn't find it! Standard laundromat with many machines. The washers have 3 settings for you to choose from depending on how dirty your clothes are. Each level up increases your quarter usage! Whatever happened to "standard"? 6 minutes per quarter for the standard dryer. 5 minutes per quarter for the big ol' one. It's actually a very nice place, the machines are pretty modern and they are clean and don't stink or leave your clothes smelly. Cough cough park merced apts, that's why my boo comes here instead. It's also by a bunch of food joints, a bar, an over priced grocery store, coffee shop and even a pipe/tobacco accessories store! Anyways the only reason I gave them a 3 and not 5 start review was there was NO WIFI!!!! I can't image anyone going to a laundry mat and having fun or watching wheel of fortune on the TV, no one is there purposely, so please have wifi. Literally the cleanest laundromat i ever been to. I use to go to the coin laundry that was closer to my place but realized that not all laundromats are actually dirty and ratchet. Whats different about this place is that there is actually someone working there constantly cleaning and basically running the place. Spacious laundromat in the Parkmerced Shopping Center. The laundromat is cleaned every morning and two ladies on staff during the weekend. The owners are always easily available responding to customer needs.It can get crowded on the weekends so I prefer to come during midweek. Machines are always available. Space to fold . I recently found this laundromat when passing through Park Merced. I have to say this was a first where every machine is in working order. Most laundromats have at least 1 machine out of order, but this one seems to be well maintained. The actual center was clean as well. They note parking in the back but, most of the parking in the back was consumed by the shopping center U-haul center. read more
