Came here for brunch with a friend and the staff was super nice. We were seated immediately in the outdoor tent, which was great because it was snowing. The waitress went and found an ingredient list for the buns to check in they had dairy in them. We got our food very quickly. I got a Goetta sandwich and my friend got a waffle. Both were great. When your in the mood for some southern comfort food that either your mom or grandma made, sit yourself down at this charming cafe. I believe they have seating inside and outside, we got the back patio and it was comfortably well done. Grabbed a couple cokes, ordered breakfast and had some small talk. I got the hunch this was a local go-to place for the neighborhood. Staff was friendly and attentive which always goes appreciated. Food was simple and it was good. We tried the breakfast quesadilla and egg omelet with a side of biscuits and gravy. Now if you had a facial reaction to reading breakfast quesadilla, I had the same but it's worth a try. It comes along with salsa and sour cream that really are the cherry on top of this dish. It didn't have much flavor on its own so we continued to do what we do best, dip and dunk in the salsa and sour cream. The 3-egg omelette was meaty and had much more flavor to it. I added hot sauce for a kick, but that's something I always do. Each dish came next to a side of little potatoes or hash browns if you will. They were hot and fresh but on the salty side (I'd ask for no salt and add my own next time!) then lastly I have to talk about the biscuits and gravy. We ordered the small which was one very big portion for two if your just looking for a tasty taste. Boy oh boy I was in heaven, they were next to Grammys good. They were piping hot, creamy and buttery and I was sold. If that's your go to breakfast item, go for it! Very comfortable atmosphere with indoor and outdoor heated seating. The staff and owner were very friendly, even giving us some free extra appetizers. The burgers were big and fantastic. These are some of the best burgers that I have had in this area. My kids loved the cheese curds saying that they were better than Culver's, ha ha. Quantity and quality was less than desired. $9 breakfast consisted of 1 slice of toast, 2 pieces of bacon, and what appeared to be O'Brien potatoes sans veggies with 2 eggs. Service was ok but table next to me receive won't order. Ambiance was ok albeit patio on chilly day with adult contemporary music. This was a magnificent restaurant in the middle of Burlington. It's been there for a good while although I'm not sure exactly what year it opened. It's a very picturesque restaurant that is small but doesn't feel small when you're in there. There is a pretty good sized menu to partake in. We tried 2 of the appetizers to get us started. The first was their cheese curds which comes with a marinara sauce. The curds themselves are white cheddar, then battered and fried and have delicious flavours as well as a good crunch from the batter. Also the marinara sauce was housemade and absolutely phenomenal. The other appetizer we tried was the pretzel bites with what they called "house-made spicy cheese sauce". The bites themselves were salty and pretty much everything you'd want in a soft pretzel bite. For the cheese sauce it was kind of like a spicy queso type of sauce which worked really well as a pretzel dip. These weren't quite as good as the cheese curds but pretty darn good nevertheless. For my main course I tried the Goetta Sandwich. It was comprised of goetta, a fried egg, cheddar, all on a pretzel bun. The goetta was perfectly cooked as it was nice and crisp and the fried egg was as well as it wasn't runny. I do wish this sandwich had a sauce like a hollandaise to maybe add a little something to it although it was still pretty good as they made it. They had some really good seasoned fries as a side which I really enjoyed. We went all in with their desserts and as a family tried all of the desserts they had to offer. They were a piece of pumpkin pie, a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, some bread pudding, and lastly a piece of cheesecake. All 4 were spot on what you'd expect in each dessert with the cheesecake and bread pudding being my 2 personal favourites. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this experience and give it my highest recommendation. read more

Loved the new ownership and remodel of the patio at first, but we've had some not so good service lately. For example, on our last visit I ordered soup which arrived cold. Asked for it to be heated up and arrived cold a second time. The sever or manager was annoyed and rude to ME for speaking up. I was not rude. I took my new husband to Washington Square to demonstrate a great place in the small town of Burlington, KY. This trip did not showcase the normal service or food quality I have experienced in the past. Unfortunately they were short staffed and out of the advertised pie even though the sign stated otherwise. Could be just a bad moment because my past trips have always been excellent. They have a great outdoor, covered, heated area for seating. Even on a hot night, the patio was perfect. For atmosphere I would give it 5 stars, but food and service tonight, only a 3. If you in Burlington, I would at least give it a try. I believe this was just a bad moment. read more

I meet my friend here for lunch. I am glad this place is open on Mondays and it's locally owned. Because of the pandemic social distancing was observed in the outside sitting area and the servers were wearing their masks, but no gloves. I arrived at 12 noon, and the place seemed to be busy, but not so crowded. I was seated right away, and asked what the drink. The server got my water with lemon and served it right away. Got Grammas breakfast and the sausage gravy tasted like it came out of a can and the potatoes tasted like they were frozen and were just baked with no seasoning. Order was incomplete which is partially Door Dash responsibility, but also the restaurant's responsibility to ensure orders are complete. Food was low quality and cold. I ordered the bowl which was overpriced to begin with and they filled it with potatoes to make it look bigger. My husband ordered the burrito and it was terrible. read more

A cute little, cozy cafe in Burlington. I've been a couple times and each time the food has been amazing and the drinks too. Just recently made a stop by Washington Square Cafe for a lunch date with my partner. I got a veggie burger with a side of sweet potato waffle fries and she got a goetta burger with fries. Both were excellent. Their take on the veggie burger was very tasty and well seasoned. The sweet potato waffle fries were also amazing, they cut them thinner and it just makes for a perfect bite. The goetta burger was also delicious. It had bacon and egg on it as well. Very generous serving sizes and you definitely leave feeling full. They also have the best desserts ever and constantly rotate that I've noticed. They have a large bar with many drink selections and wines as well. read more

This is the baby booming yelper starting with a few positives. There is a good variety of various selections of food and drink and the outdoor sitting area provides for a nice atmosphere. The various food selections looked really good. Now for areas of improvement. There was a sign up advertising a few desserts like peanut butter pie and others. After my meal I ordered the pie and the waitress said we ran out yesterday? Well how about making some today or at the very least, take the sign down. Without taking time to describe the chair. I will just say it was awful uncomfortable. The service was very slow and it was obvious that they were short handed. Perhaps they did not take into account the Boone County Fair was going on just down the road. I also like another sweetener besides the pink selection. I will give this restaurant another chance as everyone can have a bad day and I truly believe the atmosphere and food is pretty good. read more

Due to change in ownership a year ago, the quality went downhill in our opinion. We stopped going and truly missed this local place. We started to notice in the last few months that they where busy.
