Went for a graduation brunch, absolutely wonderful experience. We chose the price fixe brunch. 1st course we chose Kale Cesar salad and chicken dumplings. Salad was the perfect size and so flavorful. Served with cornbread. Dumplings were crispy and chewy served with corn and tomato garnish, arrivals and a delightful sauce. Main course: crab quesadilla and bbq shrimp and grits and jerk duck confit with a waffle and poached egg. All of them were outstanding. Highly recommend. Service was also excellent.
It's been years since I've had Water For Chocolate and I'm so glad to be back! The last time I was here was for brunch during COVID and it was pickup/delivery. I remember the polenta dish being excellent and the to-go mimosas were yummy! But coming to this dinner here in person was SOOOOOO much better! The server was very sweet. The wine was reasonably priced- loved having a Rioja! The goat cheese mac and cheese was excellent! My bf got the shrimp and grits and loved them, the black eyed pea curry was phenomenal. It was like if you mixed a red curry with an Indian black eyed pea curry I grew up eating. The restaurant is so quaint and cute on the inside. They have huge heaters too for the winter. Overall, an excellent meal and we will be back!
Water for Chocolate is far more than fine dining! On a visit to Baltimore with the Ben Barber Culinary/Restaurant Team, we were looking for a place that could accommodate a reservation for 30. One of my cousins came out the box with Water for Chocolate! This intimate dining establishment showcases the talent, love, and passion of Chef/Owner Sean Guy and staff. Our reservation was for 30 people at 5pm on a Saturday. However, when we arrived we were a group of 50! Chef Guy and crew didn't even blink! With himself at the helm of the kitchen, and staff of 3, he had us all fed with dishes such as Gluten-Free Charred Red Snapper with Cilantro-Lime Rice and Broccolini, Vegetarian Black-Eyed Red Curry, Duck Risotto, and Ribeye Steaks; all within an hour and a half! Baby, let me tell you! Chef did not miss! You could see the discipline and taste the care that was put into every dish! There wasn't a single dish that was not worthy of extensive praise! If you're every in the Baltimore area, or a local. Make it a point to open your heart to all that is Water for Chocolate. Check it Out!!!
Hands down the best brunch spot I've been to in a very long time. From the first bite I knew....let's just say, I had to ask the Owner Sean if he had pillows on the menu. Every bite got better and better, so rich in flavor and warmth. Food presentation was phenomenal! Very refreshing and homely atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Sean spent time at every table he served not just on the food regards, also getting to know the customers. He was even generous enough to take a picture with us. Definitely plan on returning, Bae wants to see the dinner vibes and I second this motion and emotion, ooh yeaaa!! Black owned and operated and a must have on your list. Visit ASAP!!
Although small and quaint and practically hidden this place was such a gem. Servers were polite and friendly. Even though the wait for our food was long I believe it's a one man show in the kitchen who seemed to be the owner, quite frankly he was doing the damn thing and kudos to him for doing so. The dishes presented to us were beautiful and tasty and I would have loved to try the whole menu if my stomach would've allowed. I do wish there were more breakfast sweet dishes for brunch as there wasn't many options on that and the compotes and jams that came with both the fingerlings and then the other with the jerk duck I could've done without didn't taste so great. But other than that food was good
Went for brunch with a friend and thought the experience was pretty okay! I ordered the jerk duck confit which comes with a cornbread waffle. Loved the waffle and thought the duck was seasoned very well and the spice level was perfect! I will say, the waffle is pretty small, I think them having either 2 waffles or at least giving you a full waffle would make it better. My friend ordered the pulled pork quesadilla which he enjoyed. I will say there were little things that made me reduce points. The service was nice but I will say because there wasn't as many people when I went so they weren't as attentive. We had to get our waitress's attention a couple of times. They also didn't have small things which I would anticipate would be there for a brunch menu, like syrup. Even certain items on the menu weren't available when we went. It would be nice if these things were made known before sitting down. Besides that I thought the entire experience was fair, just not something I was entirely obsessed with. Also keep in mind that it's street parking! Which we were lucky enough to find when we went.
Water for Chocolate was a restaurant selected by BCYF last night to engage, ally, and support LGBTQ+ Youth Leaders & the community, break down barriers that hindered open discussion of equity. The atmosphere was great, we had pre fixd meals. My vegetarian selections spinach dip, salad w goat cheese, an amazing black eyed bean spinach curry influence stew (chili) w jasmine rice, and bread pudding a angilaise sauce. Customer service was on point , food good, and good atmosphere. Will definitely come back.
Closer to a 4.5 in terms of overall quality, but because the owner was so diligent and considerate, on top of the tasty dishes being extremely delicious, I am giving it 5 stars and I would recommend anyone visiting Baltimore to give it a shot. The highlights were the WFC Bowl, the Crab Quesadilla, and the French Toast Dippers. The pork belly was cooked to perfection, and the lacinato kale was the most delicious kale I have had anywhere, mainly because it's so difficult to make kale tasty. Having an egg and black beans also made the dish more savory. The French toast dipper was tasty as well with the perfect sauce, making it sweet but not overly sugary. The crab quesadilla was full of crab meat inside, which was a definite plus. I personally wouldn't include rice on the side, but I could see how there could be some that would use the rice to make themselves fuller. The BBQ shrimp & grits had a good amount of jumbo shrimp, and the sauce didn't taste like anything I have ever had in shrimp & grits, and tasted pretty good. The jalapeño cornbread was very tasty! The salmon belly tacos had spoiled salmon so we didn't get to taste the actual taco. However, the owner was considerate enough to take it off of our bill, which we thought was very nice, because we only sought to let our server know to ensure the salmon didn't get to other customers. They were out of the jerk duck confit, which I would have loved to try, but what we had was already good enough to provide me with a pleasant dining experience! Very much recommended!
Incredible spot in Upper Fells! I've driven by this non-descript restaurant for years and finally made it in for brunch. It's a small spot so you should definitely make a reservation rather than relying on walking in for a table. We actually did not anticipate a reservation but the host juggled some tables around to fit us in and was extremely gracious about it! They have fresh squeezed OJ for their mimosas (by the glass or carafe) which were delicious, and French press coffee; both of these come in quantities perfect for sharing with a table of four. The menu is seasonal with some permanent items. We had the challah French toast which was a huge portion considering it was an appetizer, and rich and delicious. The other items were the WFC bowl (pictured) which had pork belly, rice, eggs, and a lovely sauce. The hit item was definitely the jerk duck confit -- a waffle with compote, poached eggs, and the most delicious duck I have had in months! The server told us this stay has been on the menu for years, and I can definitely see why!
I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was let down. We came for brunch and weren't aware that you needed a reservation to get in until we saw the sign up front. Since we didn't see any slots on OpenTable, we tried our luck by asking inside. Thankfully a majority of tables were open and the server asked us to sit down and wait to see if they had any openings. We didn't wait too long before we were directed to a table. The drinks were excellent! Both of the drinks we had were sweet and delicious. The dope juice was amazing. The food was okay and I felt that it was a little bland. We liked the charred brussels sprouts and I liked our bread pudding. Service at first was nice and somewhat fast since there were only a few other people dining in at the time. However, near the middle to end of our meal, service became very slow and a little rude. Food took a very long time, which was understandable since there was only one chef. My suggestion: order everything first. We waited to order dessert near the end of our meal and waited for a very long time to receive it. I asked for a box when I paid, which they seemed to forget about, and I tried to get their attention again but that was a struggle. At this point, my partner was a bit fed up with all of the waiting and bad service we received and had left to pull our car up to the front. When I finally succeeded in getting their attention, I was asked a little rudely if I had paid yet. I try to be empathetic towards service especially when it's as busy as it was during lunch, but it took me by surprise. This experience ruined the meal for us and we will not come back.
I recently visited Water for Chocolate in Baltimore, MD, and had a very disappointing experience. I asked for medium-rare on my ribeye and received a medium-well to well-done steak. Our server was arrogant and had a careless attitude. He didn't come back with a resolution about the steak until my friend inquired. When he finally did, he asked me what I wanted to do about it, which showed a lack of care from the chef as well. They removed the steak from the bill, but I ended up without an entrée for my brunch. The management and customer service were poor. We repeatedly had to request water refills, and when the bill came, our friend's dish was overcharged by $5. When we brought this to our server's attention, he deflected by saying he doesn't make decisions and is just a messenger. We didn't need him to decide anything, just to inform the chef about the overcharge. I had initially liked this restaurant, but the lack of customer service, the poor quality of my steak, and the lack of response mean I won't be returning.

This is personally one of the best ma&pa brunch spot in the area! Great service and friendly staff who make you feel at home. Food here is amazing, I've tried the bbq shrimp & grits before which was amazing and also tried the pork quesadilla recently, which was delish. Each dish is packed with it's own unique flavors and even a simple dish like quesadilla was so bomb. The only cons would have to be the tiny space inside and possibly long wait time, but they have outdoor seating during warmer days! Which I would highly suggest as it's a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood to dine in. I also noticed that they raised the prices of some dishes by $1-3, probably after gaining popularity, which I strongly disdain as a customer. But the food itself is high quality and as much as I hate to admit that I condone it for this place, I guess I would come back again for other dishes... read more
Water for Chocolate has been on my radar since before the pandemic and I finally got a chance to stop by for lunch today. Unfortunately, they are only open for take out. However, there online ordering system was smooth and easy. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. The presentation was nice. The flavor was very good. I wish the bacon would have been a little more well done, but overall a very good burrito with a large portion for the low price of $9. Based on my experience with the burrito, I look forward to trying some of the other more eclectic dishes as soon as possible. read more
Came here with the girlfriend right when they opened as we read from other reviewers this place gets busy. First time visiting. We beat the wait. I ordered the Chef Special written on the chalk board: Duck confit, with sage cornbread waffles, poached egg with a blueberry reduction jam... FREAKING Delicious! the duck was so good. Perfectly seasoned, rips apart with a fork. The waffle had a great sage taste. Finally the poached egg cut with ease and leaked perfectly. I wish this was on the menu all the time. read more

I am in love with all the elements of this restaurant. Between the food, drinks, ambiance, cute location and overall vibes this place. Sean Guy, the owner and chef extraordinaire was so kind and welcoming right when we came in. One of us made a joke about how dope the 'Dope Juice' really is and then he brought out a little sample size of the drink for everyone to make their deliberations about. It was indeed DOPE! Overall the best rec is the shrimp etouffee, it sounded intimidating but when you eat it you will be changed! Also the peppermint mocha was the perfect bit of sweetness to counter the salty/spicy. Great place, would recommend to all in a smaller party as the room is small and does not accommodate many people! read more

Water for Chocolate is by far the best brunch place I have had since I moved to Baltimore. It is also very inexpensive. My two favorite items on their brunch menu is the raisin bread French toast and their breakfast panini with sausage. I'm not a huge fan of raisins, but the raisins in the French toast is so subtle that you do t even realize they're there. The banana glaze on top of the French toast is perfect, not overpoweringly sweet, but sweet enough where you don't have to add syrup (and I'm the type of person who usually has to drench my French toast with syrup). It's also topped off with fresh fruit. The panini is only $5, and it's just so worth it!! The sausage is great, so tasty and the plating is just so pretty!! It comes with a sauce you can dip it in, it tastes like a chipotle aioli, at least that's what it tastes like. I would recommend to get there earlier or there will definitely be a wait, especially since it's a small place! read more
One of Baltimore's hidden gems that really embodies the charm of the city. A cozy space renovated into the small kitchen/dining area, this place serves top notch food. My first experience was actually when WFC partnered up with Yelp two years ago to serve amazing food on a boat for an Elite event. Usually a booked space on a typical weeknight, I lucked out on a Friday afternoon off with my girlfriend. She suggested going, and boy was I in for a treat. I got the BBQ shrimp and grits and it was phenomenal. Great contrast of flavors and textures. The sweet tangy sauce with the subtle well cooked grits - yummm. Served with their jalapeno corn bread. Water for Chocolate is a great little restaurant! Though it is quite small and, as a result, gets packed very quickly...it is worth the wait. Our wait time was about an hour for Saturday Brunch but, we were served quickly once at our table. I ordered the Shrimp Étouffée with a Blood Orange Prosecco and my god mother ordered the BBQ Shrimp and Grits with a House Mimosa. She had been here previously and raved about their food so, it was my turn to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The étouffée had so much flavor, was a great portion size, and did not disappoint with the size of the shrimp served. I would recommend both dishes to anyone who loves seafood with great flavor. The reason I did not give 5 stars is simply because of the size of the restaurant. It is sooooo small. Also, you have to walk through the kitchen to use the restroom which, was strange. read more
This place has been one of my "gots ta try" list for some time. Inside is quaint, seating no more than about 20 or so...we sat outside in the sun, which I loved. The menu is nicely sized, having several options, all that looked really tasty. I wasn't too sure what I should get until I was table hustling and saw the stuffed omelet. Once I saw that I knew a winner was to be had. I began my meal with a pumpkin spiced soy latte, not too sweet, and not overly pumpkin-y. I love the fact that hot drinks are served in mason glasses. It really is a nice touch. For brunch I tried the stuffed omelet, potatoes, cornbread and the raisin French bread. The presentation was phenomenal, everything was plated beautifully and made me just want to dive in! The portion sizes were huge for the price. When they said stuffed omelet the totally meant it. The filling was spilling out. No complaints here though. The interior of the omelet had various veggies, from squash, eggplant, spinach etc. and a choice of meat. I had the turkey sausage. The veggies were uber fresh, and I loved the change. I never thought that I would get an omelet consisting of those veggies. The cornbread was delish, I loved the addition of the jalapeños, and the French toast was cooked to perfection. It came with fruit and a lovely glaze, I have no idea what it was but it totally made the dish. I'd love to come back and try one of their dinner options totally worth the wait. read more

*Baltimore Eats* Yelp 365 Challenge x 2 #219/365 This review is long overdue and I regret that I did not write a review right after my brunch at Water for Chocolate. This little cafe was a recommendation from Baltimore's Talk Forum and I am so glad that I chose this place! I took a cab here instead of walking because I wasn't too sure where this was located. It was a good thing that I did because I would have bypassed this little place. It was perfect timing for me because there were tables available and I was provided a menu even though there were the boards up on the wall sharing the specials of the day. While I wanted to try the pulled pork breakfast burrito, my mouth opened up and ordered the pulled pork quesadilla plate. I didn't want to tell Sean that I made a mistake because the plate was already made. However, I was not disappointed. The pulled pork was hand pulled with scallions, monterey jack & cheddar cheese. It was also served with dirty rice that was delicious! The ambiance of the cafe is cozy and friendly. It's like the little cafe on the corner with cute tables.The customers that walked in were regulars because they did not mind waiting for a table to open up. Chef Sean is very down to earth and it is obvious that he loves what he does. Great leadership / management skills as he effectively ran his cafe and working alongside with his team that were prepping and cooking the food. However, after reading the website, I know that this is just a small portion of what he actually does for Baltimore. The menu was pretty extensive to where I wasn't sure what to order and I wish that I was not walking afterwards because I would have ordered dessert. If I had more time in Baltimore, I would have definitely made it a point to return there for dinner or for another try at breakfast and order what I originally wanted to try. The prices were reasonable, the food is delicious and flavorful, the service is amazing and the ambiance is just relaxing and welcoming. I highly recommend Water for Chocolate to Baltimore locals and visitors especially when the description of the food is "sexy comfort food", which just leaves you decadently comfortable after eating at this little cafe on the corner. Water for Chocolate has a good balance of quality, quantity, and fair prices, giving it a solid 4 star rating. I have been here twice now, and have had positive experiences during both visits. The first time, I opted for a kale salad with shrimp, blueberry, and bacon bits (among other ingredients) for around $14-15, while the second time I tried their signature Raisin Bread French Toast ($8.95). The salad was very delicious! A bit expensive, especially compared to their other menu items, but worth it. The french toast was actually a bit disappointing - the bread was a bit dry and flavors were good but not particularly interesting. Would probably pass on that next time. During my first visit, I got a free sweet potato bread pudding (check in offer), which was very mild (good for those of you who like dessert that's not overwhelmingly sweet). The second time, maybe it was because my friend and I were sitting there for a while, but they gave us free brownies. This was also on the milder side. I personally love overwhelmingly sweet desserts, but both were good. Interior is very small and cozy, but service is attentive and efficient, and the food comes out pretty quickly. I definitely want to try more of their savory dishes next time, because I tried a bite of my friend's breakfast burrito which was very good. Overall, great place to visit for meal. WFC is a quaint, HITW (hole in the wall) local venue and catering restaurant located in Fells. Came here on a gorgeous sunday for brunch after hearing so much about the place. Got there around 11 and was expecting a long wait (they don't take reservations), but instead after putting my name down for 2, was seated in about 5 minutes. The place has a few outdoor seating tables (awesome on a nice bmore sunday) and maybe 4-5 indoor tables, and now crowded at all. Even at full capacity there's room to breath and converse. Service was excellent and attentive. The FOOD: Brilliant! Simple menu, quality ingredients, magnificent and diverse flavors (both sweet and savory dishes). There's an online brunch menu with their staples, but make sure you check out the specials on the chalkboard. I got the Goat Cheese Mac w/ MAPLE BACON and eggs and jalapeno cornbread (choose ur style). mac and cheese was savory but not overdone, eggs fried to perfection, cornbread moist, and maple bacon was crispy and mapley. Not they have pretty limited seating here. It was a little bit squished, but homey at the same time. Food was quite excellent. Tried the Saltimbocca, which they didn't really say what was in it, but if you look online at their menu, it's Grilled chicken, capicola, herbed olive oil & provolone cheese on ciabatta bread topped w/ parmesan cheese & red peppers; served warm. It was quite large and flavorful (although it did get a little bit too salty the more I ate it.) The meatloaf was also delicious. It was moist and flavorful, and just hits the spot. Perfect comfort food. I'd say, don't get the hot chocolate though- it was just milk and hershey's syrup. I'd be excited to come back to try their brunch menu as everything looks good as well as their dessert! read more

First of all, I am so mad at myself for trying this place all late, I should have come a lot sooner. Where should I begin. Came for brunch with 2 friends, and this place has been on my bucket list for quite a long time. We got here around 12, by this place being very small, it was jam packed. We put our name on the list and they texted me when our table was available, we didn't have to wait very long. The menu had so much to choose from, it was kind of hard to pick, lots of options for my herbivores and carnivores. So for cocktails we started we started out with the WTC flight, which is a trio of mimosas and a sangria called Dope juice for $12 dollars, listen Linda, if you are looking for a nice buzz without a whole lot of punch, this is the way to go. The Dope Juice was my fave, which is their sangria with fresh rosemary sprigs in it, really delicious and also a nice treat around the holiday time. For food each of us tried some really amazing dishes, I had the fish tacos with blackened tilapia, which was so tasty, the fish was cooked to perfection, my other friend had the hangover special with the jalapeno cornbread and lastly my other friend tried the BBQ shrimp and grits, best shrimp and grits I tasted, loved that they added Andouille sausage as well, definitely a nice touch to the dish. Just a few FYI tips, this is a very small café, so dining in may not always be possible, but you can always call your food in and pick it up. Also you do have the luxury of ordering food through GrubHub and DoorDash for example. Also they have a wine club where you get your 6th bottle of wine for free and this is also for dine in and take out. They also do a Foodie Hour from 3pm-6pm daily on weekdays and each dish is for $5. I will definitely be returning, the food and the service was exceptional. The hostess Niah(sp)) was so helpful and knowledgeable of the different dishes, to be honest everything was delicious. Came here with a friend who was visiting from out of town and I am so glad we did!! This time, I got the sweet potato polenta with a runny egg, grilled veggies, goat cheese, and an amazing balsamic sauce. The plate was absolutely beautiful and the taste of the combination was even better! Sweet, salty, savory, tangy, all came together wonderfully in each bite. I would have licked the plate if I could have! I would HIGHLY recommend this and I can't wait to come back just for this dish. My friend got a special: blackened mahi mahi on a bed of caesar salad with a side of jalapeno cornbread. I tried a bite and it was yummy as well! read more
Water for Chocolate has been on my list for a while. Finally I made it. Everyone speaks highly about this place....an they were right. I came here for brunch on a Sunday at 1pm. The place was way smaller than I anticipated and it was packed. I thought the wait would be forever, but for 2, it was just 20 minutes. Sweet deal. I have never been to a restaurant this small and intimate. It wasn't until my friend had to use the bathroom that I got concerned. The layout is table, chairs, register then an open kitchen. Turns out, you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. That didn't sit well with me. When my friend returned, they said that the bathroom was really clean and fully stocked. No complaints. That was good to hear. They had the menu written on the wall which was cool as well as tangible menus to read. I thought the items were eclectic leaving me wanting to try so many items. I think their menu is really what makes them unique. You can tell that the chef thinks out of the box and really knows how to blend flavors. In saying all of that, I still kept it safe with my first meal here. We both ordered the stuffed omelet with roasted potatoes and jalapeno cornbread. De. Lis, Cee. Oh. So. The omelet was stuffed with sausage, roasted peppers, mushrooms, onions, and spinach. It was perfectly cooked and had great texture. The potatoes were okay. Nothing to write home about, but they were edible. The jalapeno cornbread was a surprising highlight. I don't like spicy, but the spice was not overpowering. The sweet and spice were actually complimentary. Our waitress was very polite and patient. We had so many questions. I feel like the menu is set up to do that. For example, the menu says Stuffed Omelet, but it does not explain what it's stuffed with. Lol. I saw it as a way to engage with your server as well as it keeps them on their feet. The waitress also has eaten everything on the menu which is always a plus because you can get their expert opinion. The manager stopped by our table to check in and say hello. He even was helping to seat patrons and bring out food. That was cool to see. I wish him unbelievable success in his business. This Black Owned establishment wowed me with its homey environment, friendly staff, nice patrons, and amazing food. I am a brunch fanatic and Water For Chocolate is my FAVORITE brunch spot in Baltimore. What makes this place so special is the amount of work and heart they put into their dishes. Incredible value and powerful flavors. This shop is tiny with few seats, but if you can get in, you are in for a treat. The owner and workers are dedicated and it shows in how attentive they are. I was blown away by the food and the service! Moving onto the food, I particularly like their crab quesadillas (4.5/5). Loaded with crab, herbs, and cheese, this dish has become a personal favorite of mine. I have also had their Scallops entree (4/5) with puree, which I found a little too rich in my opinion, but the scallops were flawlessly seared and prepared. If you are a Shrimp and Grits fan, you are in luck because they give you jumbo pieces of juicy, seasoned, and savory shrimp mixed with cheesy grits (4/5). Overall, they have a great selection of seafood dishes, so you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu because they provide the freshest ingredients! Now the dessert. SWEET POTATO BREAD PUDDING (5/5) is the dessert of my dreams! I have yet to find another decadent and flavorful dessert that leaves me so satisfied. It was warm, sweet, and truly something that I enjoyed down to the very last bite. So delicious -- a must-try! Come and experience this place for yourself, I guarantee you'll love it! read more
My long awaited trip to Water for Chocolate finally came to reality the other day, and I don't know what took me so long to get there. Water for Chocolate is a fairly small but quaint and cozy café with no more than about 6 tables. But forget about the size of this café, the large quantites and bold flavors of the food will satisfy your hunger. On my first visit I chose the pulled pork quesadilla with dirty rice and a piece of cornbread on the side. When my food arrived the amount of food on my plate was well worth the $8.95 for this dish. And the flavors of the quesadilla kept me lingering for the next bite. The thick slice of cornbread was a little different from the normal cornbread with the addition of jalapenos and corn and lightly dusted with parmesan cheese. All I can say is yummy...I love cornbread! I ended my trip to Water for Chocolate with a huge, warm bacon and chocolate chip cookie, a nice sweet and salty combination going on there. I will definitely be making another trip to Water for Chocolate, and it will not take nearly as long to make my next visit. read more

Quaint restaurant in upper fells that has a tiny dining room with enough tables for 20-25 people. The tiny dining room keeps it intimate and close to the kitchen but can be chilly in the winter. Nonetheless this is a gem to dine at. For drinks I had the Dope Juice ($6) and it is their homemade sangria. Wow this is not your typical sangria with more berries and herbs rather than just fruit, I really enjoyed it. For my main meal I had the salmon with chipotle and fruit topping. The salmon had good flavor and I enjoyed the topping. It was served with Parmesan grits which I've heard great things about but I found them to be a little dry. Got a side of veggies which was zucchini, squash and onions that was lacking in flavor compared to the salmon. My friend got the pulled pork which had good flavor and a side salad that looked good for a salad. For dessert we ordered the warm pears which were soft and heavenly but beware they are served with chopped nuts on top (I have a severe tree but allergy) and this was not noted on the menu. Overall quaint and cute spot to eat. I'd definitely come back for the dope juice, warm pears without nuts and try another dish. read more

My only regret is that I did not start coming here sooner! I used to walk by every day on my old commute. We grabbed lunch here on Monday. The seating is very cozy, and the staff is warm and welcoming! I was craving some goat cheese so I got the roasted vegetable and goat cheese quesadilla. Mushrooms are not my thing, but even those I did not mind as I devoured my meal. The veggies and goat cheese paired together nicely. The quesadilla was warm and crispy on the outside. It also came with a side salad. I really liked the salad- greens, dried cranberries, blue cheese, and a honey vinaigrette! My friend had the chicken livers. The liver was well seasoned and crisp. The eggs were poached nicely, still on the runnier side. The goat cheese Mac n cheese was only a let down to me because my dish featured goat cheese so prominently. Her livers also came with jalapeño cornbread. We were missing the kick from the jalapeño, but it was fine otherwise. Overall the food was fresh, healthy, and delicious. The staff were accommodating and friendly. And the prices weren't bad either. I will definitely return! read more

Love this place the service is great I got the 3 course meal for me and my boyfriend it was very delicious & my filet was cooked perfectly. It had watermelon paired with it which was super weird but actually very delicious!!! The only thing I'd change is the portion size for the price. Other than that I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice date night or brunch with bae. It's close to Patterson park so a walk after brunch in the park is a must !! Enjoy read more

I've been trying to eat here for a while now and finally had the opportunity last night. I made a reservation for their 4-course dinner prix fixe menu and it didn't disappoint. Me and boo went out for a post-covid date night and were very impressed with this place. It's very small , nice decor, I think there were maybe, 8 tables. Our hostess was very very pleasant, I can not remember her name, but she was the only person taking orders and bringing our food. She explained the menu well and her timing was great. When we finished one course.. 5 minutes later our next course was coming out. Every single dish was flavorful, nothing was flat tasting, lots of spice in the jerk duck, the nitro shrimp were delicious... a lot of places get grits wrong.. not here. They were creamy and fluffy. I got the drink flight with the dope juice, mimosa and blood orange Prosecco.. all different, all tasty, but my favorite was the dope juice, so I ordered another glass of that. We got the WFC house salad and the untraditional Caesar salad , both were really good. I'm happy I was able to dine here, I can tell the Chef has a passion for what he does.. it shows. **COVID19** was good but when I was sitting outside, I kept smelling ...trash. It was not a pleasant smell. I don't know why but there was only 1 person as a server and 1 chef. This place does not take reservations and is usually packed with about a 45 min wait, so plan accordingly! I was able to land a table pretty immediately when I arrived at 9AM on a saturday morning - the time it opens! Well worth the wait! A great time as always! The food and service were excellent. The sangria and mimosas hit the spot. Not too strong, just perfect. This is my second time here since they remodeled and expanded. It's still a small space and only slightly more space than before but well worth the wait if there is one. I called ahead and only waited with my party of 4 for about ten minutes. Parking sucks because it's street parking in a residential area so it's hard to get a good spot, especially one close to the actual restaurant. Otherwise, I recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind the parking, or you can always uber! read more

How does one make a brunch res? I've called the number, the number sends me to the website, the reservation link doesn't work at all..
I always use OpenTable. If no times show up, it's probably booked. I just checked and it looks like they don't have any availability until 3/30.
