Four stars for the food/Two stars for the personality The restaurant is very nice and features a banquet area as well. It is definitely a "bar and grille" environment, as depicted in the name. My wife, 2-year old son and I were greeted by a friendly hostess. Our server was nice, but it was kind of like she was being nice because she had to be, not because she really wanted to be. Look, I don't expect every person to go crazy over my child, but most people actually show a little excitement and at least greet children at most other places that we visit. It was like these people were just not excited to be at work. Moving on to the food...once it finally arrived, it was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh. Kudos to the chef. We were the only table seated in the restaurant and there were two tables outside. It took quite a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, it was missing the pancake for our son. Thankfully the hostess (who was actually very caring) went and reminded our server. Our server then came to the table and told us she thought she served it to another table. We then proceeded to wait another 5-10 minutes for the pancake, sharing our meals with our son. It would have been nice if she had taken the $2 pancake off of our bill, since it didn't come until toward the end of the meal, but she didn't. Because she likely didn't care. But back to the food, the lobster omelette and frittata were fantastic. After we left, we thought "maybe we are overthinking this" about the service. Then we walked into Giovanni's ice cream shop down the street, where we were greeted by the woman working there (and her friend, who did not even work there) like we were their best friends. It was nice to walk into a place with some life and happy service! Overall, this is a nice place for a bite to eat and some drinks. But I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get here. If the personality and service matched the quality of the food, this would've been a five star review. P.S.: On a positive note, our server did write "Happy Birthday!" on our receipt (we were celebrating my wife's birthday, which I indicated on my Open Table reservation). read more

When we first got there we were very happy with the atmosphere but did think it was strange seat yourself but oh well. We had a table for 7 we received 4 menus , had to ask for additional menus. We ordered drinks but then the waitress came back and told us they could make frozen drinks...shouldn't she had known that. She then forgot to bring one of the drinks, we had to ask for it a couple times. I can understand why someone would leave this place drunk, one drink and my head was spinning as so wasn't my sister's. We ordered appetizers, I didn't expect the steak and cheese egg rolls to be as greasy as they were, my new white shirt had grease going down the front from dripping out of it. We weren't even given plates to put our appts on, my sister had to ask for napkins to clean the table after she ate because everything dripped. (Which was already sticky when we sat down.) When we got the meal, they forgot my husband's meal. My daughter and I both had pasta dishes, my chicken was over cooked, her's she said was horrible. The others got fish and sandwiches they said were ok. When we were finished we waited a while for the check, we never received it. I gave the waitress my card and she rang it up and it dawned on me on the way home I never saw the actual bill so I don't know if I was over charged or not....this is the first time in all my yrs I've never received a bill from a restaurant. I think the best part was when we noticed the restaurant was full mostly woman we counted 14 guys there. And of one of those 14 there was a couple sitting at the bar and she was popping his pimples on his head! Very classy place :( read more

I love this place. In fact, I have been hesitant to review this restaurant and bar, as it's getting virtually overcrowded (and there are many rooms). The owner is a really charming Irishman (always a terrific foundation!) and has "Golden Oldies" playing at the pub-like bar. Excellent drinks--but then again, I have liked everyone who works here. Come to think of it, the patrons are also friendly, too. They have terrific food. Salads are enormous and very fresh. The lamb shank is awesome, and is like standard British Sunday dinner (a "roasted joint"!), which evokes warm memories. Fish and chips here is among the best in Massachusetts. Huge, perfectly crispy, with best fries around. They have 1/2 price appetizers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Try the Irish nachos (delectable homemade potato chips, with tons of cheese and pico) and get the chili (very impressive-huge bowl) and guacamole. I had it yesterday, and although I was hungry, I couldn't even finish half of it! And at half off, it cost $6.00! They make proper drinks, and have a number of local beers on tap (along with the usual suspects). They also have seating outside in the Summer. Prior to Covid 19 the quality, portions and service were very good. Looked forward to returning. Their fried haddock sandwich was excellent previously. This visit was not so good. Fish sandwich was greasy and less than half the portion. Husband's chicken sandwich was rubbery and dried out. Tiny piece of overcooked chicken. We will not be returning. Went to meet friends for drinks and appetizers. Liked the warm and cozy vibe, which was the best part of the visit. Truth be told, we mostly had drinks and only one appetizer -- the chicken quesadilla - which was really not good. It was sliced, bland slabs of chicken between two tortillas with tomatoes and onions on the side (not inside. Weird!) Some of the other food that we saw go by looked interesting. My prime rib was dry unfortunately. I ordered medium rare, and although it was pink the meat was still tough. My girlfriend ordered the Reuben and that too was a bit tough and lacked a good amount of meat (although we are not far out from St. Patrick's day). I would like to try again. read more

First visited Waterfall for the free tasting held to introduce patrons to the new chef. The food was stellar, the wait staff was nice. Came back a few days later for father's day. The place was empty - perfect for us because we brought our 9-month old- so there wasn't much atmosphere. However, the food was five stars. We ordered the Chef Shelton chicken wings to start which were packed with flavor. Our favorite is the herb-citrus. For main course, I ordered the salmon special (I posted a pic) which I really hope they make a permanent fixture on their menu and my husband ordered the seafood risotto which tasted just as good, if not better, than at the tasting. The presentation of all dishes was superb. Finally for dessert, we ordered two helpings of the bread pudding. Fantastic meal, fantastic wait service. I will be back very soon and often. read more

Chef doesn't know what a medium rare steak is and when I asked for tips instead of the filet they burnt the filet while trying to pass it off as steak tips. Owner bouncing around drinking beers talking only to his friends who doesn't seem overly concerned with how the other patrons are doing. Flavor of my fiancé' tips tasted good but since I got a refined steak my tips didn't taste as good as his. read more

Sat down. Waited a little bit. Waitress came over and asked us for drinks. We both just said waters to start so we could look at the menu. She came back over in maybe 10-15 minutes, without the waters, to ask us for drinks. So we told her our drinks, along with the waters, again. 10-15 minutes goes by again. Drinks come by, yet no waters. It took us around 25 minutes to finally have a water on our table. Even though it ended up being out liquor first. The food was good, the caprese salad was overpriced for the size of it. And my sandwich (pesto chicken) was good, yet doused in oil. Would I come back here? No. Not if that's the attention we get when we go in there, and it really wasn't that busy. Dimple girl maybe had three tables. Stopped in here because we were in Canton and just picked it based on the menu and the photos on Yelp, and it hit the spot! I had the Shepherd's Pie, which was unusual in a good way. Lots of flavor from the carrots, and had a slight similarity to a really good beef chili. And the mashed potatoes on top were top notch. Very tasty. Couple of good draft selections, and my wife appreciated being served scotch in a decent glass. Staff was professional, relaxed and not overbearing, and the space was comfortable, clean, just modern enough. All in all, a charming neighborhood place, and we'll definitely be back to check out the outdoor patio by the river when it's open! Always appreciate a good independent restaurant, and glad we wound up at this one. read more

I came to this restaurant recently, and was looking forward to trying it out. I had heard all good things about it, but left sort of deterred. If you have read any of my other reviews, you'd be able to vividly know that I am someone who cares a lot about logistics in any organization, and also doesn't like anything small, congested or busy. While this restaurant didn't have any of the typical issues that I find (besides that it was too small), the atmosphere and ambiance of the entire restaurant just didn't do anything for me. The ambiance in general wasn't cozy, warm and spacious, like I prefer. It was moderately loud and between the three different rooms, the furniture and decor weren't ideal. If this is where this review were to stop, it would be a one star review; however, between the staff and the food from this establishment, it deserves a better grade. Staff are super friendly and very attentive. Everyone seemed to be working hard and doing a great job making the majority of customers happy. Food was also very good... flavorful and filling. The menu is sort of small, but for a place as such, I felt it was very reasonable in selection and price. Don't expect everything in the book, but do expect to find something that you will like (if you're a fan of American food). Everything about the restaurant was clean and very inviting from the outside, but I don't know if I would go back again. They really should expand or change the current use of their space (take down a wall and open up the whole restaurant?), because in the current state, it just doesn't work very well. Sorry to say we did not have a good experience here. While our female server initially seemed nice she asked us If we wanted anything else while we were still eating (I couldn't help but say, "we're still eating.") If she had asked if we wanted another drink instead we would have said yes. We never saw her again confirming our suspicion that she wanted to close our check before the end of her shift. When we were done eating no one arrived to clear our plates or bring a bill. I had to go find the new server who took my card and brought back the cleared bill and still left the dirty dishes. On the way to the rest room on the way out I saw our initial server sitting in the front dining room applying her makeup. The food: I had the Irish nachos. Weren't bad but would have been better If they were cooked enough to have All the cheese melted. Couldn't eat the unmelted, cold shredded cheese Overall very disappointing. No big deal, we live in Vermont and won't be back. El Cortijo in Burlington: exceptional food, especially the nachos. And excellent service. I guess I'm spoiled. read more

Going to give this place two stars simply for the service. The bartenders were great and and they drinks were great. However, do not eat here during covid times. This week I am awaiting a covid test because I am severely sick w flu like symptoms. Most likely transmitted from another customer. Social distancing table wise was not enforced at all and they were operating at 100% capacity. Every single table was filled and there were even multiple parties sat at the same table. I've retraced my steps numerous times and this restaurant is simply the only place I could've gotten sick from, as me and the people I live with get tested multiple times a week. When we were sitting at our table they allowed two separate parties to sit at a long table directly behind us with some older woman literally facing and breathing on top of me. I opened up Snapchat and she was directly behind me. No more than a foot away. I felt pretty uncomfortable about it and it was certainly not worth getting sick for. If you want to get covid this is the place for you. Just order their drinks and food to go. read more

This is more than a bar & grille, a nice restaurant menu is available for dinner --- filet mignon for $25 !!! Nice selection of proper restaurant menu items and pub food. All the food is quality, like the angus burger, or the haddock dinner. Great and unique apps and salads too. Good wine list, and the bartenders make great mixed drinks. Atmosphere is comfortable and classy. Hang out at the bar, or the bar seating, or take your sweetheart to the dining room for a great dinner. Very friendly staff, great service. Who ever sets the TV's must either be hard of hearing or they buy into loud makes people drink / eat faster. The TVs are so loud it was uncomfortable to sit at the bar. The volume was deafening. The overall atmosphere is pub like but more modern than I expected. C Service: The first bartender we had was sharp. The second one seemed completely confused. 1st One A / Second One B Drinks: They pour a solid scotch but when a tap beer arrived it was flat. Sorry folks but getting your beer taps right is simply a basic expectation. B / B- Food: Their home made chips are killer. Their nachos are abysmal. Chips with pre-shredded packaged cheese mounted on a plate. Once past the first layer of chips the rest were stone cold. My first time at Waterfall Bar & Grille. I got the "new" Lamb Kebabs ($17) with orzo salad. Unedible! The lamb was so dry that I was struggling to swallow it without choking. I tried another bite from a different skewer, same thing, except it had a grittiness that tasted like sand was added to the "meatball" mix. One bite of the orzo salad and I was done. Something didn't sit well with my stomach. It (cheese maybe?) just tasted wrong. I grew up eating lamb from my grandmother, who was raised in Ireland. I learned to love mediterranean food from my college friend with greek roots. This was not a good representation of either culture. Huge waste of money! read more

This is a great place if you want to sit outside on the patio and have a few drinks. They also allow dogs outside which is extremely cool. Appetizers are on par and the arugula and sweet potato salad is fresh and delicious. This restaurant is a great addition to canton center and the waterfall outside is a nice view. I'd like to see some more contemporary and creative items on the menu. I think they'd attract more people that are looking for eclectic food. The menu has a lot of old school items, although good but I think kicking the food up a notch would go a long way. Maybe hire a new chef with some creative ideas or something. Went here on Saturday night. The place was very busy, but we managed to find seats at the bar. The place is beautiful inside! Classy looking pub with a cool, relaxed feel. Once we sat down, the bartenders were being very attentive despite having so many customers. We had a couple cocktails and dinner. It was all pretty amazing. The cocktails are unique and delicious. My friend and I tried three different cocktails and they were all tasty. The White Cran Cosmo was definitely my favorite! The food menu had a good variety of old favorites plus Irish twists on American classics. I ended up getting hamburger sliders that had mashed potatoes in the slider. SO good!! I have to go back though because there were so many other items I wanted to try... Potato skin pizza, Guinness shepherds pie, Sweet Potato fries, etc! Overall, this place was great and I already recommended it to everyone I know! The two people who wrote bad reviews are CRAZY and need to go back, give it another shot, and change their rating. So happy we found this neighborhood spot! I had literally the best turkey burger of my life last night. Fresh, flavorful, and nice and juicy. My boyfriend had the Waterfall burger which was cooked perfectly and also great. Someone next to us was eating the meatball sub and we were pretty jealous!
