I guess Covid has really done number on this place. Supposedly known for the martinis but they cost $16 ea. Also. No servers so the bartender took us. We ordered perch and ribeye. I couldn't cut my ribeye and we were served the white fish,not perch, drenched in butter super soggy. The spinach and artichoke dip we had for appetizer tasted burnt and I couldn't find the artichoke. A group of 8 of us were camping in the area over the weekend and wanted to catch an NHL playoff game Saturday night. Thankfully, they had a TV on and the bar was completely empty. Just enough room for the 8 of us! We did not eat so I can't comment on the food. They have a really large martini/mixed drink menu and the bartenders were happy to make us whatever we ordered. They also have a handful of beers on tap to choose from and a fully stocked bar. The restaurant was almost completely empty inside with a few occupied tables outside, so must have been a slow night. Our bartenders were friendly and engaged in conversation with us throughout the evening. The restaurant décor is pretty dated. 1980's Miami-esque? is how I would describe it. They have a pretty large outdoor patio that would probably be nice to hang out at during the day. read more

Terribly managed- no one knew what their responsibility was. They told us after we got all of our dinner and drinks that our server was sick so he left. They were adding our checks from the menu and someone from our group handed them out to everyone. I understand that restaurants are understaffed but this place needs help. My husband and I eat at the Waterfront all the time as it's near our home and has a great view of Paw Paw lake with nice outdoor seating. They also have a dock and we sometimes come by boat. The food is always good. They bring fresh baked bread out to start, we generally get the ahi tuna or shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, and then they bring out a salad (or soup). The salad is your basic dinner salad, but I like that it's included with the meal. The ribs are good and they've recently added lamb shank and halibut entrees to the menu, which my husband loves. Personally I like the chicken tarragon or the artichoke stuffed chicken, both are delicious. Their Sunday brunch is also fantastic. Tons of options to choose from (carved meets, omelets, waffles, chicken, fish). The service is generally pretty good. It can be slow in the summer when they're crazy busy, but that's to be expected. In the summer they also have bands play on the weekends, which is fun. read more

Think twice about going...The atmosphere of the outside dining area with views of the water is beautiful and the food was good. Our server was friendly but the service was very SLOW. My daughter ordered a $10.00 martini that tasted like bad cough syrup. I told the server it tastes bad and she did like it and asked if she could order a beer instead. He returned to tell us that we'd still have to pay for the drink! At the end of the meal, we spoke to the manager about getting the martini taken off the bill. She impolitely told us that they offered to "water it down" since it was too strong (which they did but we didn't want that either) and if she took it off our bill the server would have to pay for it! Seeing that our bill was $160.00 for 4 adults (we all ordered alcoholic beverages and the entrees are a bit pricey), it just makes good business-sense to make the customer happy. And making the server pay for a returned food or beverage item, is just poor management. read more

Just had Easter buffet brunch with my family. I cannot believe how overpriced it was. There was nothing Easter about it and they charged $25 per person. Pasta was cold! Salad bar, if you can call a bowl of lettuce and five toppings a salad bar, only offered French dressing. Prime rib was over cooked and the au jus was beef bouillion. Ive had better brunch buffet in a local bar in Chicago for $15 per person. This place took advantage of the holiday and overcharged for undesirable food. Will NeVER go back again. Read the other warnings. Don't go. I'm adding this comment after reading and speaking to locals who say brunch is normally $13 a person. This overcharge for easter---with nothing to speak for--is a disgrace to the business. I hate being taken for a ride. Shame on this family-run business! read more

The view was relaxing and the staff was nice and helpful. There was a band playing and they were really good. It quickly goes downhill when the food arrives. We ordered salads and the ranch dressing was as think as mayonnaise. Ribs did not have a good taste. The food was very average, portions were average to small. Went on a Wednesday night when kids meals were free, so that was nice. The service at this restaurant was very poor. We were one of maybe six tables that were seated during our sitting, and there were three servers working and it still took us over 2.5 hours to complete our meal. At one point our server asked us if we wanted to order dessert and we hadn't even ordered our meals yet! Indoor seating felt like a banquet hall in a dated hotel. It was cheesy. Never saw the magical bread basket they spoke of bringing to us. Asked if our food had been started and was told there was only one chef on staff, in other words we never saw the food. In the entire two hours we sat there, one single table was served their food. Our waitress was supposed to come back and speak with us, never saw her again. Waited around a little more just to see if anyone would come talk to us, nobody did. When we finally decided F this and left, we saw our waitress sitting out front doing god knows what. Our first experience with Water front today was a poor at best one. We were excited to try a new local dining spot we'd heard great things about. Our kids had ping pong balls from the Fourth of July festivities and were really excited to turn them in along with our order. We sat at an outside table for over an hour and were completely ignored; not even offered water on a hot day. The waitresses scurried by helping other tables while completely ignoring us. I'm not sure what it takes to get service here but our kids were well behaved as we waited. Finally after an hour of being ignored we left. We didn't even get a chance to try the food. An hour with not even so much as water. I don't usually leave negative reviews but this seems excessive to be ignored for that long. read more

I ordered a to-go order. I'm in town for a wedding and wanted some seafood for dinner. It was only 10 minutes from my hotel, very convenient. Food was ready fast & service was very polite. The food, however, was god awful. I got the calamari & scallops. Whoever thought of making scallops sweet... you are wrong. The calamari wasn't crispy and it was kind i've just thrown into the box. The Waterfront is a great place to catch a fantastic view of Paw Paw Lake. We've been there a few times for drinks and appetizers and both were great. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. We haven't been there for dinner yet but will the next time we visit the area. read more

We had 2 wonderful evenings there. Had one of the family wait on us the first night..our calamari was not the best...but our sautéed walleye was most yummy. Can't beat the view! Nicest spot for outside...other than our cottage....on the lake....that we could find. Second night got the "Greek specialty". And was yummy and fun. Brunch was FANTASTIC! The ambiance is relaxing with beautiful views of Paw Paw Lake! The entire service staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious! A large variety and everything was nicely presented with an omlet station, waffle station, salad area, fresh fruit, meats, side dishes, and homemade desserts! I cannot say enough good things about the food! The omlet was just perfect! The chef was personable and even brought the omlet to our table! The waffles were so good I went back for a second! In addition there is a full service bar and our Bloody Mary and Mimosa were delightful! Our waitress Angel was exceptional! Very cheery and enjoyable to talk with! In good weather they have amazing outdoor seating and it was appropriately decorated for October with pumpkins and other cheery Fall decor! There is a beautiful wooden pier you can walk out on, and this is also a great spot to snap some pretty pictures and watch the ducks swim by. We found out on weekends they have a band and dancing too! You will not be disappointed with this restaurant! It is a true gem. Now that we've discovered it I am looking forward to many future meals there! read more

What a nice setting for a delicious brunch on a sunny fall day. The food was really good and there were a lot of choices too. The waffles were like a dessert. I had a hard time choosing so I took a little of everything. I didn't leave any leftovers on my plate. You can't beat it for the price. We're going to come back this summer to take advantage of that outdoor seating where you can watch baby ducks and turtles. The service is so welcoming too. A family run business with a ton of heart. They score high on location as you can boat up and sit outside on the lake. Our server was new but trying hard to do a good job. The food was the most unfortunate thing about the place. We were there Sunday late afternoon and the were not busy. We had the pesto chicken pasta which lacked all flavor, seriously, and the pasta was over cooked, the Italian sandwich was ok, as was the Italian beef, again it lacked any spice they were also out of fries so they gave a small bag of chips instead. Visiting my familys lake house for the weekend so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try since unfortunately, this resturant is one of the very few around Paw Paw Lake area. We walked in and theres were a few tables sitting outside and then a reception going on as well. We were told to take a seat anywhere and a server would be right with us. We waited around 5 minutes before the manager brought us water and a server finally got to our table. The staff there is very friendly and the resturant has a gorgeous view of Paw Paw Lake. Those were about the only two good features of my dining here. I'm a server myself and I understand that places get busy and sometimes servers have a lot on there plate, but we waited for more than an hour and a half for our food to arrive and the entire wait we had the manager who was walking around from table to table talking and it was very apparent how overly friendly he was trying to be to make up for the kitchen. If the kitchen was that behind then they should have closed down the resturant to people while the reception was happening. But there were around 5 servers and only about 6 or 7 tables of people and the reception was long over by the time we ordered and it still took over an hour and a half. Finally when our food did come, my chicken sandwich was burnt, there was tomatoes and cheese thrown on and no flavor whatsoever. Probably one the the saddest sandwiches Ive eaten. My boyfriend said his wrap was good but he thought they had run to Mcdonalds to get their fries. In my opinion, Mcdonalds fries were better than the ounce of pathetic fries we got were. Our server didnt come to see how we liked the meal until we were halfway through which, being a server I know is a huge thing not to do. Then we sat at our table waiting for our bill for even longer, which is when I had to go inside and ask for my bill. To put into perspective we arrived at around 8:30 and didnt leave until 10:30 and we took probably around 10 minutes to eat our actual food because we were starving. I guess my point here is, if you really want to go somewhere nice while vacationing on Paw Paw Lake, drive the extra minutes to Benton Harbor or another town if you want a proper fine dining experience. read more

A couple weeks back we visited Waterfront for the first time. The outside seating near the lake was great BUT we will NOT be returning. The drink pricing needs to be re-evaluated. We were charged $15 for a juice glass sized rum & coke. We did order Mount Gay rum which is not well rum but I can buy an entire bottle of this rum for $20. This was not a drink listed on the menu so I will take responsibility for not asking the price but $15 for a rum and coke is ridiculous. For comparison purposes - some of our group ordered Bloody Marys with Absolut Vodka. They were in a larger glass (probably 12 ounces) and were $8. Someone at this establishment needs to take a hard look at the pricing. When we expressed our complete shock at the price to the servers they said "we don't set the prices". I completely understand that the servers aren't setting the prices but to limit the number of upset customers they may want to let people know the ridiculous price before serving them a juice glass size, weak drink. read more

The lakeside seating was very picturesque, the staff was excellent and very friendly! Our service was great! The drinks were great (cold beer and a martini). All of the food was very tasty. We had Saganaki and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. The Saganaki was excellent the mushrooms were just good. A couple of us had the lobster ravioli and it was awesome. We had been there several times before "the incident". The food was never good, but usually edible. As many of the other reviews said, it is the only restaurant on beautiful Paw Paw Lake so we continued to return for the view. We show up, wait about 45 mins for someone to come over to get out drink order. About 25 mins later she returns with our drinks and asks if we are ready to order. As we begin to order the server informs us that the chef's mother passed away that afternoon and all the kitchen would be serving was pasta. None of us wanted pasta, but because we now felt bad and had been waiting over an hour, we were going to have pasta. By the time the food came out an hour later the pasta was over cooked, over sauced and over due. We finished our meal and left. We returned about two weeks later and when the server came over we asked how the chef was doing. We got a puzzled look and we're asked why we were inquiring. After explaining what had happened at our last visit the server coldly told us that the staff was just playing a joke that night. The chef's mother was not dead, as a matter of fact she was perfectly healthy. That was the last time anyone in our family went there. I hope someone who can cook and run a restaurant buy this dump. It would be really nice to have someplace on the water to eat. In the mean time I'm counting the days until they go bankrupt! read more
