I was here 9 days ago. I had read in another review site that Waterloo pizza in Elkridge had the best pizza. My original review must have been in the Columbia location. I used to live in NYC and have been searching for a good NYC pizza or at least something equivalent. I found that type of pizza at Waterloo. The new owner Chris was super nice and asked us how we liked it. I really enjoyed my slice of pizza. It was actually more than a slice! It could have easily been two slices! The crust was crispy and the cheese was just right. It wasn't too salty. I would definitely come back to order a whole pie and try the cheesesteaks. Chris owns another pizza place in Glen Burnie. I would definitely check out that pizza place! read more

Great neighborhood pizza shop. They have a nice take out special that we get regularly. Perfect place to pick up a pie when we get a babysitter. Our daughter always enjoys the extra cheese. We haven't tried delivery yet, but I'm sure we will eventually. read more

We had just come from Franks Produce & Greenhouse and my tummy was growling for pizza. The hubby and I stopped by this small strip of stores and purchased a small pepperoni pie. I'm still thinking of it now, a week later - that's how good this pizza was. So true, you def can't judge a book by it's cover. This place has the best steak and cheese subs I've had since high school. The perfect amount of bread and steak. Always the right amazing of mayonnaise! Delivery is fast and hot. Quality of pizza in the last year and a half or more has gone down. There's no consistency to how your pizza will look or taste. The ingredients do not seem to be as good quality as in the past. They do not know how to make garlic bread and never really have. It's barely covered with whatever they put on it - butter? It's awful. Whoever the man with the accent is that answers the phone is very rude. His last conversation with me lost my business. I was a regular customer for over ten years. I do not give or take rudeness. Sorry for your downward quality but the rudeness really made the decision for me. If you are in business do not argue with your customers over such trivial things. Quality customer service sells - rudeness does not. I had formerly given them a high rating. I would give them two stars instead of three but I am not rude like the man answering the phone. My wife and I recently moved to the area and were looking for a good pizza place. Unfortunately this was not it. The pizza was doughy and we asked for the wings to be extra crispy and they were chewy. I'm sure some have have pleasant experiences but we did not. I suggest trying these guys as a last result. I stumbled across this place while looking for a quick meal and I saw the "...& Subs", so I thought what the heck. It's a small spot, no place to eat, but they have a water cooler and some chairs for you to sit in while you wait. I really like their menu; it has a great mixture of traditional foods and some eclectic multicultural things which is not the norm, I've found. I spotted a gyro on their menu and that was it. I ordered the "yee-ro" and the man corrected me, "ji-row" and then my husband and I said, "We're pretty sure it's "yee-ro" with a little bit of an "h" sound on the "g". This was a truly weird conversation. The man behind the counter was clearly not even of Palin's intellect and wanted to pretend he was the subject matter expert on Greek food pronunciation. So, we looked it up on my Tilt and showed him the correct pronunciation. Then he said that he really didn't know and he was just saying it the way people say it "around here". It was an odd thing to argue about, but at least it kept us busy while we waited for the thing that is hard to pronounce correctly to come out. It took about 15 minutes or so to get the Greek pita sandwich, but it was worth the wait. One of the best pizza / sub shops in Howard County. It is tucked away in a small strip mall near Costco and Trader Joes. The amtoshpere; Looks like your normal pizza spot and no space for dinning inside the restaurant, located off the beaten path, but plenty of parking. Make sure u call ahead and place your order. The food; Everything I have tried on their massive menu is worth a try. The pizzas are fresh and handmade from the crust to the sauce, my favorite is the philly cheesesteak with the works. Taste as good as the major spots in philly, save yourself some time plus gas. You can get the BEST cheesesteak sub here in Elkridge. They really have good pizza and it's delicious at reasonable price! As I usually try my favorite food "Philly Cheese Steak" and "Gyro" at any place before I write a review about, Actually this little pizza shop got really good Gyro and Philly filled with lots of meat! Quick service. I ordered a cheesesteak at the (carry-out only) restaurant, they said it would be ready in 10 minutes. And it was. Which is quite the feat because I think the only guy at the grill pumped out at least 5 other cheesesteaks before mine. Good subs. Decent amount of meat. No MSG from what I could tell. A little short on the tomatoes but tasty. I was happy with it. Fries were ok; they were beer battered but too crispy - as in enamel-scratching crispy - for my taste. The fries come in a large serving though, almost enough for two. Odd interior. Interior is a bit nice, and a bit hole-in-the-wall. Tiling is new. They have a classic kitchen-type cabinet facing you, above the cashier, when you come in. It's partially wood and partially glass, and filled with various items you would actually find in a kitchen cabinet including china. I have no idea why. As mentioned before, there isn't really any place to eat inside the store. There are about 4 worn chairs if you want to sit and wait for your food. Stay away from the doors if you wait; there are delivery guys going in and out of the restaurant all the time. Conclusion. Overall a good experience. Just a little pricey: $10 for my 8" sub, fries, and can soda. So far the best (and quickest) cheesesteaks in Elkridge. Looking forward to returning and trying out their other offerings. read more

I'm new to the Elkridge area and came across this spot. Wanted mozzarella sticks and a good cheesesteak and I must say I'm beyond happy with my decision! This is now our third time at Waterloo pizza and every time the pizza is amazing and the service is even better. When I went in to pay for it the pizza wasn't ready so he asked what car I was and brought it out to me. Waterloo Pizza & Subs is a little sub shop located in the Lark Brown Shopping Center. We first ordered from them when we moved into their delivery area 2 years ago. We were tired of pizza and wanted to get subs. We probably get delivery/take out subs from them once a month--steak & cheese with onions and peppers. The steak is seasoned well--something that is often missing from these random sub shops. They have wedge fries and regular fries (like Checker's). They are both tasty :-) I've also tried a chicken parmesan sandwich there, which I would not recommend. The sauce tasted strange and just wasnt' a pleasant experience. I also got a cheeseburger sub one time and it was pretty good. I would order it again. One thing I like about this spot is speed--they roll in there. I've watched them when I've picked up and see why our delivery is so fast--they move in there. Our delivery order is always fast and knock on wood, is always right. We order 2 subs and one order fries (a regular size is plenty for both of us) for $20 after tax and tip. The portion sizes are good (8" subs, lots of meat, regular fries big enough to feed 2 people). They also include a menu that has coupons for future sub purchases. We've yet to try the pizza (boyfriend likes papa johns--i can't get him to branch out) or the wings, but both looked good when I look at them when I do carry out. I would recommend trying this place if you are tired of chinese and pizza for delivery--just steer clear of the chicken parmigiana sub. I have lived in Elkridge for more than 20 years, and Waterloo Pizza and Subs is the best around. My friend moved from here to Tennessee 15 years ago, and you know what he asks me to bring down for visits - Yep, Waterloo pizza and cheesesteak subs. He says Tennessee does not know how to do it as good as Waterloo. I ordered a couple of pizzas and a 25 count Old Bay Wings this past weekend for my brother's 67th birthday (he asked for Waterloo), and the owner asked me what our favorite deserts were. I am done with this place! I posted a bad review before and was asked to take it down and I did thinking maybe I jumped the gun. Not this time. The manager is rude and does not care that he is ripping off the customer. I ordered the 12" Italian Cheesesteak without the roll once again hoping it would be better. The pizza came in a box without any baking sheet and was served so saggy enough soaking the base of the box fully wet. Can't they add a baking sheet between the box and the pizza? It was presented very unhygenic. These boxes can potentially have molds and other germs during their storage and can contaminate the pizza directly. I have ordered from this shop maybe 10 times over the last few years, never once have they been anywhere near consistent. The folks answering the phones need to have a class in how to speak to people, I don't care about the employee-to-customer aspect as much as I do just the "polite thing". When you charge 10 bucks, then complain that you shouldn't have to add cheese to a meatball sub is ludicrous. Any other place will add toppings of your choice without issue, except these goofs. When ordering at Subway (not a favorite either but better), they give you free topping such as cheese. When I asked for some mozzarella, I was told "you don't get any cheese" with that kind of sub. I had the pleasure of trying Waterloo Pizza today. Ordered a plain cheese pizza and was pleased. The crust was light with a bite to it. Similar to what I remember from my 2 years in Northern Italy. The cheese wasn't oily like that of other restaurants. The sauce was sweet but not ridiculously sweet and not acidic. Good balance for the pizza.
