Excellent for summer outside dining or just having a cocktails and apps at the tiki bar. Good location for game day viewing, 1/2 price apps, drink specials, games etc. Good menu selection. Love this oasis of a place on a sunny summer day. Friendly service. Umbrella'ed tables are plentiful over looking the Southern tip of Lake Winnebago. Nachos appetizer is huge but hold the onions. Fried Wisconsin Platter is what you expect of it. The two appetizers were more than two women could finish for dinner. And we really liked the raspberry lemonade. Yummy. Wisconsin's answer for those wanting to get away and pretend they are in California somewhere. Tiki bars, live music, fish fry nights, seafood nights, tan girls serving you food and drinks, outdoor dining......they wanted to give that eternal summer feeling, and they do it well. I didn't eat here, we just stopped in for a few drinks. Like Fratellos it is on the river or lake or whatever that body of water (can you tell I'm not from here?) and there are plenty of people taking advantage of the nice summer weather, and enjoying their cocktails and beer outside on the patio or at the Tiki Bar. Rumor is also, that alot of the area's teachers like to break here for happy hour.....in fact we ran into a few while getting our drinks. read more

Went for a fish fry later in the evening on a Friday. Apparently there were two groups who had made reservations. One group was of 30 and the other was 15. Apparently the reservation policy at the restaurant does not require them to be there at a specific time as I and my date waited 45 minutes for a table while there were 20+ empty tables in the dining room. Couldn't even get near the bar to get a drink as the aforementioned groups were blocking the entire thing. After we ended up getting seated, we waited ten minutes for water and then had to wait another 10 to order. Food was okay. French fries were obviously under the fish for a while as they were soggy. Ordered the seafood platter and got two pieces of perch, four jumbo shrimp, one scallop, and a piece of haddock. Was basically deep fried fish and didn't stand out with any special unique flavor. Will probably go back in the future to see if this was a one off experience or not. Did note that the waitstaff and floor managers were having some issues communicating and heard a couple of snide remarks between servers that should not be said where customers can hear. read more

Fish dinner was not very good. Very busy. Walleye fillets were filled with bones. Our server was very nice, but Friday fish not recommend.

Great location, unfortunately the food wasn't. Very busy and apparently the kitchen was overwhelmed. Our appetizer came with our entrees & was cold & they forgot the chicken on my salad so I had to wait extra for them to bring out chicken.. which was rubbery & likely microwaved. OMG No! We have been going to Waverly Beach for years. As reported to us by the wait staff, there was a change in management the week before. Apparently, the new management team is doing everything possible to be sure the place closes and soon. The drinks were very weak, they didn't have salt for margaritas at the outdoor bar, and then -- wait for it -- they added an upcharge of $1 for ice in a margarita and another $1 for sugar in a brandy old-fashion. Then after we had sat around for an hour and a half without even being able to place our order (or even order appetizers) because the kitchen was "very backed up," our server informed us that they were out of essentially all seafood, a fatal error for a fish fry Friday night. So we found another restaurant nearby, and quite assuredly won't be back. Good job, new management team! read more

Let me start by saying that I have always liked Waverly Beach. Even under different management they have remained pretty consistent. The issue I had recently was this. I saw an ad for Dueling Pianos Dinner show on FB. The post said Free admission. I didn't expect the food to be free but thought the show was included. Our granddaughter plays piano and thought it would be a fun family thing to do. I reserved a table afted being assured the show would be okay to bring our granddaughter to. I was quite surprised when my tickets came and I was billed $180 for 5 tickets. I accepted this again for the family. Our granddaughter ended up being sick and what a blessing that turned out to be. Although the piano guys were very talented their humor was filthy. Beyond off color. The tickets stated for all ages right on them. At least put a warning on the advertising. I never would have booked this for my family. read more

Stopped on Sunday for chicken special Took 40 minutes to get food when it came the broasted chicken was over cooked to the point it was almost black. Poor quality of chicken fatty. Mashed potatoes served in a to go container like you would get at a drive thru. They gave us 20 percent off, which I thought was fair Until I paid the bill with cash They charged a 3.00 percent credit card convenience fee. I'm not from the area and love coming here when I can. Whether it's a weekday or weekend their menu has a good variety of options to choose from and can even offer gluten sensitive options for those who have gluten intolerance. Their waitstaff is wonderful along with the bartenders. This is a great place for friends and family to meetup and enjoy some great food and drinks; in the summer my favorite part is their tiki bar. Highly recommend Waverly Beach for anything from private parties, birthdays, weddings, or company events. read more

We finally made the trip to Waverly Beach since 2019. We had heard its beautiful inside so it was a Firday night drinks and meal that we went for. IT IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE!!!!!! we were a bit overwhelmed on where we should sit. Anyway, the beers are a bit overpriced but we figured it went with the beauty. We ordered the brussels sprouts for appetizers and they were surprisely awesome!!! My spouse got the beef tenderloins for his meal. He loved it so much he practically licked his plate clean. I ordered the Ahi Tuna steak salad. I order tuna steak often on meals and salads at other restaurants and never disappointed...except this time. Exception of the tuna and the cabbage, the rest was odd. The texture and mixings of the salad tasted like they were trying to be overly creative and made it part southwest. To be honest, it just seemed disgusting. I am hoping that someone from their kitchen staff will see this review and maybe change the salad mix a bit that it is more palatable. read more

I have never seen such disrespect before in my life. I didn't realize that bouncers now don't have to ID everyone, As long as they look old enough they are told they look old and they don't need to see it. How rude to say to anyone. And they singled only one girl out, We walked in with at least 15 of us for a party and they had no one in the bar so they lost out on a lot of business from us because after I had a chat with the bouncer who disrespected a girl with us they kick me out, so everyone else followed. Horrible service yet again. Was there for a birthday party two weeks ago and couldn't get a beer because we were supposed to have a "special server". Had to go to the bar every time. Today we sat at the tiki bar. There were 5 people behind the bar but 3 must be allergic to alcohol because they didn't seem to serve drinks. A group to our right had to move to our left because apparently they were in a dead zone. Horrible service again. Can't keep our drinks filled on a hot day. Won't fool me a 3rd time. Great location right on Lake Winnebago. Service was friendly and relatively fast. Our main issue was about value. For a simple BLT with 2 strips of bacon, a couple of very thin tomato slices and a lot of lettuce we were charged $8.50. WOW-simply not worth it. The cheese curds looked and tasted as though they were poured from a giant bag purchased at Costco. The fried pickles were tasty and we'd order them again. Employees were at the bar after work drinking with their friends and skipping customer music on the TouchTunes. Pretty unprofessional and embarrassing. Once it was brought to the managers attention the employees (or group) responded with "well their music sucks." I was reimbursed by the manager, but I feel that employees should know better and that further action should have been taken. Especially considering they continued to make fun of and insult the group I was with. WILL NOT be returning. read more

This review is not for the restaurant but the water just off the shore. Located on the north shore of Lake Winnebago, this is a great place to (literally) drop anchor. It's one of the few places on the lake with a nice sandy bottom - from 1 ft to 3 ft deep. Bring your own beer, blare the radio and toss around a football. Lots of people like to gather here and soak up the sun. If you run out of beer you can always walk to shore and order one from this restaurant/bar. When a band is in town, just turn down the radio and let the notes make their way over the waves. read more

Went for Friday fish with 4 other people. Found a piece of plastic in the appetizer, and 2 potatoes with rotten spots in them. Server was decent even though it was only the poor guys 2nd day. The manager was rude. Stated that he couldn't help that the potatoes had rotten spots. Said he would take the appetizer and a drink off the bill. That took 2 tries. He did give us a $20 gift card for a later time though. Not sure if it will ever get used though. read more

I've been there 3 times. Beautiful place on a summer evening. But that is the best I can say... Trying to get a table outside is a total disaster. Terribly slow service. Over a 1 1/2-hour wait. Staff acts like you are a bother. They blame the management! My sticky table was never cleaned - even after I asked to have it cleaned. The food quality is inconsistent. I have to blame the management too. This place makes plenty of money despite management that can't do as much as organize customer seating much less train their staff to make their restaurant an inviting retreat. I really expect more when I go out and spend $80-$100 on a dinner for my family. read more

We were at Waverly Beach Mothers Day, May 8th. The brunch was FABULOUS!!! We were VERY IMPRESSED with the four serving areas, salad bar with beautiful shrimp and other salad type foods; the hot food bar with scrambled eggs, sausage, mashed potatoes, dressing, chicken and much more; another station with prime rib and ham; finally a dessert table full of various desserts!! ALL of these foods were ABSOLUTELY DELIOUS!!!! We drove two hours to get there, but it was WELL worth the drive. And an added feature was a band that played an enjoyable volume of music!! read more

The chicken and potatoes are edible, the view is ok, but the outside of the building looks like a large metal shed and most of the staff are A@@holes! The food is fair and the service poor. Nonetheless, for the outdoor space and sandbox for kids, we have frequented the space for years. Tonight, the service, and especially management, were blatantly condescending to us, related to eating space and children playing in the sandbox. I am not a parent, and am generally bothered by children in restaurants, but kids playing where they are asked to in an outdoor space far from the bar patio is exactly what this venue had been welcoming on weekday evenings for years. Our group was more than willing to comply with any arrangement asked. We were told not to take our business elsewhere when directly asked, and treated terribly after. Despite years of patronage, I will never return. It isn't worth it from any front: poor food quality, very poor service, refusal to recycle and glass bottles or plastic cups, and a hostile and hypocritical management. Friday Fish very unimpressive. The baked haddock was superbly dry and the seasoning was awful. The old fashioneds were made with a mix that was sweeter than pure sugar.
