Dotted line and below are the original adjustable holes. Everything above is an alteration by the gentleman.

Very disappointed with my experience. Came in for the simple task of adding extra holes to the straps of a leather backpack. You will see in the photo that 4 holes were added above the original holes on the left and 5 holes added to the right. Of the holes that were added all but 2 of them are not even in line. This all occurred in the span of 5 minutes which cost me $20. The work was done in a careless and precarious manner. Do not suggest going to this place even for the simplest of tasks.

This is the best place to go in New York to get the highest quality leather bags. There are all kinds of finishes for every style and you can custom order. Sam was wonderful and helped me find 3 wonderful purses that fit both my style and personality. Very practical indeed and long lasting. Everything in the store is Genuine Leather. I don't believe you can get genuine leather for the prices they have them at the store. All items are also unique. Go to this store if you want something that will last for years and feel great as it ages!

I've wanted a leather duffel for over a year. I was shopping in the West Village and another store owner directed me to "small leather shop off of Christopher street." I found a bag that was "ok" at another shop but the customer service was terrible. I felt ignored. I took the advice offered and walked over to Waverly. I walked in and heard two women talking to Sam about how pleased they were with their purchase. When he finished with them he turned to me and said, "I'm all yours." He showed me a variety of options. Once I found something I liked I considered companion pieces. I ultimately bought a beautiful duffel. Larger than I planned. Thick nice leather. The design is fantastic. Intelligent. The workmanship is great . The lining inside is strong ballistic material. The straps are well sewn. I can't see ever having to go back for any kind of repairs. I love the duffel . It's so stylish and I'm proud to carry it. It's the kind of item that you can keep and use for a life time. I asked Sam to engrave it. He said he needed at least 20 but no more than thirty minutes. (I communicate similarly). I had a snack at the restaurant on the corner and came back to see that he thoughtfully engraved both sides . Salesmanship is important to me. As a family business he not only knows the products but is rightfully proud. I was educated in the process of how the bag was made and how to care for it . He also measured the bag to show me that if fit the regulations for carry on. We then had a great discussion about travel as we have both seen much around the globe. It's great to give a Yelp review that isn't griping about petty issues. I was glad to spend money here and will consider custom pieces in I flew back to LA the next morning in style. I love my duffel and can't wait to get the matching satchel!

The manager/owner (Sam?) of this shop is so awesome -- friendly, down to earth, genuine guy, almost like a grandfather you would want to grab some coffee with and chat. We exchanged some stories and lingered there a bit, because we felt so relaxed. We ultimately decided not to get the bag, and he was nice about it. Sometimes people can get aggressive or mean if you turn down their sale/product, but he was calm and laid-back, and that was a relief. I don't like when people are bullied into buying something ; that's not right. He sells large duffel like bags, suitcases, shoulder bags, purses, knapsacks, etc. Products are good quality -- you can rub out smudges or scratches in the leather. But since products are good quality, it's not a cheap bag. You get what you pay for in this case. Shop is small -- you walk in and instantly see all the bags displayed, and to the right is a small repair/work station. No returns. Not sure about store credits.

This bag means the world to me because it was my very first designer bag, gifted to me over 10 years ago They worked absolute magic! The cleaning and restoration were done with such incredible care and attention to detail. When I got it back, it literally looked brand new You would never know it had gone through anything! Shoutouts to Leather Spa bringing it back to life! On top of that, the turnaround time was so fast which meant so much to me. I'm beyond grateful to have my sentimental piece restored so beautifully. It looks just the same now as it did when I first got it. I highly recommend them to anyone needing expert care for their luxury items! 10/10 experience!

I first brought the boots to the Grand Central location and was turned away because apparently only 55th Street (the least accessible NYC location for me) does calf alterations. My boots were 1-1.5" too wide in the calves as I have very narrow legs, and while I was clear that I didn't want them to be tight, I did want them to look more fitted and neater around my legs. I went to 55th Street and intentionally had the boots fitted over jeans, repeatedly telling the store employee that he was cutting off my circulation and needed to loosen the boots. Rather than listen to me and do what I asked, he told me that they could stretch them if they turned out too small. I very adamantly said no, I will not compromise the integrity of the leather by stretching them nor will I agree to have the boots made too small so that additional work will be required. I finally asked him to provide the final measurement and was told it was 13". The boots were originally 14.5" for reference. The boots were ready in just over a week, which already had me concerned since I hadn't requested a rush job. Upon receiving them, I could immediately see that they were two different sizes. The left boot is 12.5" and the right boot is just barely 12.25". They are nearly impossible to zip, the seams were done VERY poorly and not straight, and most importantly, they do not fit without severe pain. I cannot walk in them. I literally can't even move my right ankle. And that's on my bare legs without jeans. I immediately contacted Leather Spa and received a response from Vincent who said it's very common for boots with this type of repair to require additional treatment and that I should bring them back for stretching. Did I not already have this conversation BEFORE I paid $300+ to ruin $2k+ boots??? Vincent insists they are not ruined even after I sent photos showing that they very much are. Further, they didn't even send them back to me nicely - they threw shreds of cut leather pieces inside one of the boots and just sent them off that way as further evidence of the total rush job. I used to frequent Leather Spa 55th and my patronage fell off years ago after they did something very similar to a pair of $300 boots. I was very clear during my visit this time that that could not happen again with my brand new Louboutin boots that were significantly more expensive. Had the employee just told me on the spot that they were going to cut my boots too small and require stretching thereafter, I would've taken the boots, walked out and gotten them repaired elsewhere. Literally the only reason I returned to Leather Spa is because Christian Louboutin recommends them. Never again.
