Wayback is ther best burger in town, I also love how much they help their local community!

My girlfriend and I went to Wayback Burgers tonight for the first time and were pretty disappointed. We waited almost 15 minutes for a take out order, which is understandable if they would have been busy, but they weren't. We go to Five Guys normally and even when they're slammed they get our food out quicker than that. We ordered two create your own burgers, fries, tater tots, and two oreo mud pie shakes. When we got the bag, they put the burgers directly on top of our tater tots and smushed them completely, the fries tasted like cardboard, and the burgers were just not good! No clue how to describe what was wrong with the burgers besides the fact that they taste like butter and grease. The portioning on their sides is ridiculous for their prices. All in all, just not the best experience, will not be returning. read more

This place is a step below Dickie Jo's (which isn't anywhere near a favorite in my house). The burger meat was falling apart and I immediately noted that there was no way the bun was going to survive till the end. The onion rings weren't very good quality and were cut too thick, though I imagine that's not really their fault since they came frozen in a box. The worst part though was the ranch dressing, it was probably costco brand (or worse) and was bland but sour, yuck. Such a shame because the location is convenient (even though the parking lot is a weird nightmare) and the service was really friendly. The highlight of my visit was definitely the staff, very friendly and helpful in navigating their menu. At the end of the day, if I want a similarly priced burger and onion rings (not cheap) I'll head to Dickie Jo's because at least they're local and I know those ingredients are fresh and they also have amazing house made ranch dressing. read more

This place is pretty nifty. We went for dinner the other night and just beat the rush. I got a triple burger. They put cheese on it so they cheerfully remade it very quickly. The little guy's chicken strips weren't the greatest but not horrible either. My wife got a specialty burger and she was pretty pleased with it. I didn't have the gumption to try their triple triple (yep, just like it sounds, 9 burger patties) but I will be back to give it a go. Fries were food and crispy. Not a huge fan of their fry sauce but I'm more of a ketchup guy anyway. We didn't try the milkshakes but they seemed to be very popular and well received so I imagine they are pretty good. It's in the strip mall (Santa Clara Square) so easy to miss. Next time you're in the area stop by and give them a try. read more

Well other than the pricing I agree with most everyone else. The food is decent and the atmosphere is okay. BUT...... I m sorry I do not consider $11 for a cheese burger and fries to be a reasonable price! You can eat better for all over the place at a better value. Someone needs to tell the owner they are running a burger joint and not an Applebees or similar restaurant. Sorry.....good food but I wont be back :( read more

First time there, buns not toasted, skimpy on fries, and greasy. 40$ could have been spent better. Bathrooms were clean as well as the dining area. Constant customers on a Thursday. I will go again for a second opinion. read more

Yummy! Real burgers. They taste fresh. Like they should be made. Also the chili cheese fries were a good size for one, but we shared and still had plenty. The chili had lots of meat, not too much sauce. Very good. Wish we had one of these by us in California. read more

I quit coming to Wayback a couple of years ago after draining a pile of grease large enough to fill a commercial fryer from my burger. It left me with terrible heartburn and feeling just crummy. My husband recently ate there with some coworkers and encouraged me to give it another shot. I still can't say it's the best burger I've ever had,l (those are extremely few and far between) but it definitely was not like it was a few years ago. The burger was not greasy at all and had excellent flavor. The fries were delicious. All burgers were made exactly as ordered. We will definitely be adding this back to our list. read more

I visited this place with my wife and kids. They have a very easy menu but everything is good. They have good shakes and the fries are very differently flavored in a good way. Parking is easy and its not crowded. The attitude from all the employees is very nice and attentive. The food didn't take long to be ready and it was right the first time. We just ordered takeout through DDish. I had the double bacon cheeseburger, and it's incredible! Easily the best burger I've ever had through delivery. There's no mistaking high-quality grassfed beef, perfectly cooked. The fries and onion rings were top-notch. The best part is the price. I give their burger 10 out of 10, and my only other burger I rate that highly costs over TWICE as much! I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I am full. I am happy. read more

Their burgers are barely tolerable, then I ask for DOUBLE mushrooms and get almost none, literally, see pic. Wow! I paid for extra and got less then one serving. Burgers are good but service is so terrible that I won't return. Was previously my favorite burger spot. Would rather go anywhere else now. Ordered through Grubhub and there is a sign saying to call and they will bring out the food. Called and they wouldn't bring it out. So I came in. They were then extremely rude about it. Every single worker had attitude. As if I, the customer, was in the wrong for ordering food from them. They were quick to argue about every little thing. Handed me an empty cup that was supposed to be a shake. When this was pointed out they said it wasn't on the order. Pulled up the order and it clearly was on there. Instead of double checking they once again wanted to argue. Then the worker "helping" me decided to walk off instead of getting the milkshake. Such entitled workers ruin the experience and have lost them another customer. Seems a common problem at this location. Then I was supposed to have bbq house made chips. They are instead regular chips. So multiple items on my order were wrong even though they were not busy. Mistakes happen but they wanted to argue instead of correct them. I honestly hope everyone stops going here. I used to recommend them constantly. Now I will make sure I tell way more folks to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Was not impressed at all! No one there at the counter and the girl making a milk shake didn't even say hi or be right w u! Nothing just kept looking at me then at the shake! It wasn't busy only two other tables in the place with people! The girl putting together the buns looked frantic while the cook stood there w one hand in his pocket and grilling w the other then taking his hand out of his pocket to smash the burger! I understand that he wasn't actually touching my burger w his hands but he's handle items that r! Cross contamination! All the way! It took almost 20 min for one burger a order of rings and a order of frys! Cashier I think a manager or lead was friendly! I gave it a star only because I couldn't give a 0. I didn't even get to eat I had to go to BK. Me and my friends goggled it from the road said they were open till 10pm. Got there at 9:20 the shift leader had closed out the till and the staff was cleaning up. They did acknowledge us for a minute and laughed at the girl who closed the register early. With wads of money in her hands this girl proceeded to tell us when it's slow they close early. That's so not how it works. I asked one of the staff for the managers name and he blatantly lied to me and said they don't have managers. I had never tried Jake's Wayback Burgers before and I didn't get to that night. Amazing food! We ordered burgers here and it took no time at all! My family and I were greeted with smiles and a big " Welcome to Wayback!" The kiddos loved the food and they had an excellent kids menu that features kids tenders, burgers, grilled cheese, and they all come with fries and a drink. It took about 8 to 10 mins to get our food and the burgers were amazing! We will be back!! So much more flavor than Dickie Jo's! read more

Good solid burger at a great price. We went durring the lunch rush on a Saturday so it was busy, yet it was still clean and the employees were friendly. Large portions, I had a Jr. cheese burger and split a full order of fries and it was WAY too much food. They serve Heinze ketchup with their fries. OH, and did I mention the beer and sports? Yep-they had a tap of Ninkasi and one of coors. Not bad! The only reason its not 5 stars is the seating situation. When its busy its hard to find a seat and if you do its close quarters. But, hey order take out and enjoy a beer while you're waiting. read more

You're better off (taste and money wise) getting a "natural burger" at Carl's Jr. than a burger here. Ordered a Philly burger with NO mushrooms and got one with ONLY mushrooms. Ordered Mac and Cheese bites. In the picture it shows a basket of them- like fries. What we got: about 8 of them on my plate! Plus the fellow taking our order acted highly annoyed to be doing so. Ordered from Wayback last night. Got a basic double patty burger with all the toppings suggested, and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were not terrible, but were very greasy. The burger on the other hand, I could not eat. There was something on it that tasted off, like really past its sell-by date. I think it may have been the onions, but I am not completely sure. All I know is I was left feeling extremely sick after eating my meal, which I waited an hour for. So, I will not be ordering from here again. I would rather eat at McDonalds if I wanted a less than mediocre burger, that tasted like the ingredients have sat around unrefrigerated for weeks (and that's saying something, because I hate McDonalds). read more

Best burger in town. I really like the fact that you can add wide variety of condiments. Their French fries may be the best in town. They have great milk shakes. But the best thing about Jake's Wayback is their prices are so reasonable. read more

This is not a good place to eat in Eugene! Very Very poor service!! The manager Ashley is not very nice at all! Kicked my friends family out just because they spoke up and said they didn't get all of their meal and then when Ashley finally brought it the fries were missing and they spoke up again, I might say nicely too, and they were told to leave. Clean place with friendly service. I had a single bacon cheeseburger with everything, no mustard and fries. My burger was ok but the meat lacked flavor. The 2 little bacon strips were narrow and thin and added little if any flavor or texture. The predominant flavor was the chopped onions. The fries started out crisp like they advertise and were very good but quickly wilted which was disappointing. Overall not a great burger and fries but I would try them again and leave the onions off to see if I get a better burger flavor. I won't order the fries again. read more

I wanted to like the burger so bad! I was glad to see new business come into the area. The burger doesn't tast bad, it's just not great. McDonalds is down the street with the same flavor. The fries are pretty good. I didn't try the shake, maybe that would have redeemed the place. I won't be back there for a burger, but may stop in to try a shake. read more

Wayback Burger has a bigger menu than Five Guys and is about the same cost. The burger is tasty but this location is very slow though...The last time I came in to get an order to go I ended up sitting in there for about 15-20 minutes before getting my food. This was when it was pretty slow at 8 PM. It would be nice if the employees actually cared about getting your food to you in a timely manner. I'll be sticking to Five Guys for now. read more

they failed to send me my2 orders of fries .When I called them about it I was told the only way I can get them is to come there and pick them up...I am housebound and that is why I order the food online...I am not able to drive.....I wanted a refund but they said to talk to hungryducks.com who delivered them for a refund but there is no way to contact them....Not ordering from them again. read more

Love this place! It can be pricey but their burgers are totally worth it. I recommend you try everything. The thing I like is that their burgers are very unique...something about them is way different than any place I've been to. Def a must try. read more

The fries were good. That's the only compliment I have. I ordered the extra cheesy burger and it came with no veggies which was a surprise to me. The onion rings were good but my burger and my husbands cod were very greasy. Also I wasn't a fan of the fake cheese. I had greater expectations and my husband and I were both disappointed. read more
