We, The Pizza does not take It, The Cash for pick up orders or delivery orders. We, the patrons, appreciated that this place was clean. We did not appreciate that the seven or eight staff members ignored us for many minutes even though we were the only two people in the restaurant. After we stood under the pick up sign long enough, one staff member demanded, "Do you need something?" When we finally got our pick up order home, the pizza was hot and decent (white pizza and mushroom pizza). But for 40 dollars with a side of rudeness, I could have had a few cocktails and then gone to my in-laws's house. read more

Went on a tour of the Capitol on 7/27 and stopped here for an early dinner afterward. We were starving and this was a perfect choice to crush our hunger pangs. I only had the cheese pizza, but it was really good. The best part about it was they keep it very simply, with basic ingredients and seasoning that all works well together. The ingredients are not crap either... you can tell this is good stuff, and even the crust was delicious. You know a pizza is good if you eat the main part with all the goodness on it and you still want to eat the crust. The service was good as well. We had a party of 8 and ordered a couple of pizzas right at the beginning of the evening rush and it only took about 15 minutes to get our order. The ONLY reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was simply because the sitting area was crazy. It seems like they got a discount on a bunch of furniture from 3 or 4 different restaurants that were going out of business and just randomly set them up in the available open dining spaces. They were in the middle of doing some renovations upstairs so I'm hoping things might improve after that's finished. Overall the dining furniture issues did not affect our overall experience though, and it was totally worth the visit. I would definitely bring the family back for another visit. read more

i wish i had a better review of this place because i like what spike is doing for the area. unfortunately, i don't recommend getting a whole pie here. try the slices first. my pizza dried out before the dinner was over and the crust, that was softer but still packing a bite, turned into a hardened, 3 day-old baguette before i left the table. moral of this story: slices. and an italian soda at the fountain is highly recommended. i had the orange crush (basically a melted 50/50 bar) and it was a great compliment to the pizza. read more

I have had We The Pizza at the restaurant once before and thought it was pretty good. Decided to have it delivered to our office for a luncheon and had a very poor experience. I call and placed the order at 11am or so. I specifically asked for it to be delivered at 12pm/12:15pm. I get a phone call at 11:42am saying the guy is downstairs. I got get the pizzas and they are already cold. I tried a piece and was thoroughly disappointed as it tasted stale and the cheese had a very waxy texture. I have no idea why they would deliver us pizzas 30min early and not even deliver hot pizzas. Very disappointed and will not recommend. read more

Before "We, The Pizza" opened, I would drive to Arlington's Italian Store when I wanted good, New York-style, take-out pizza (and, as you would expect, the pizza would be luke-warm at best -- and missing a couple of slices -- when I got back to my house on the Hill). Anyway, so I have ordered from WTP about a dozen times now and find that the pizza continues to get better. Granted, I thought it was pretty good to begin with -- nice crust (although it could be a little thinner), good sauce, generous toppings -- but the pie we ordered the other day was the best yet. They also have delicious gelato desserts -- try the strawberry shortcake if you're in the mood -- and fun made-to-order sodas (my 9-year-old is a fan of the "Heard It Through The Grape Soda"). I like the restaurant's space -- plenty of seating -- and I love that I can order carry out. I would give them 5 stars if they delivered. And I'd throw in a half-star higher than 4 if the price was a tad lower ($19.98 for a large one topping is on the high end), but until there's real competition on the Hill, they can charge whatever they want. read more

We found out about this place because they stuck a menu in our door, which should have been our first red flag. We checked yelp and they had 3 out of 5 stars so we gave it a shot. We had to call three times over twenty minutes before we could get someone to answer the phone. Paid $40+ for two large pizzas, one with sausage and peppers, the other plain cheese. They showed up within an hour as promised. However both were mediocre at best. Tasted like they were microwaved. We ate one piece each and were done. Finally went. I work nearby. I have resisted going because I disagree with the owner Spike for charging what I believe to be an unfair, illegal, and fraudulent "tax" i.e. a 1% "environmental" charge. In reality the owner admits this going to some kind of paper or paper like towel they use in the kitchen. They waste paper and cardboard like crazy in this place. Anyway, long ago when they first opened I challenged them on this charge and they said it was optional -- but they don't tell anyone this. SO when I went yesterday I asked not to be charged the extra 1% and the cashier made a big deal about taking it (4 cents) from the tip jar. Now the pizza. To my surprise it was not very good. All this time I thought I was depriving myself of a treat, but it turns out not. The crust was tasteless and limp and the topping was just ordinary. This was a one time deal for me. Petes a pizza I think is the only good pizza in town. Forgot to mention the roach crawling on the wall which oddly didn't especially bother me but freaked out my girlfriend. One good thing was the AC upstairs. BTW, from the Bronx here, so do I know pizza or what? I am actually writing this on my iPad on the Megabus to NYC. I am so bummed. I love the pizza at We the Pizza, but after so many times of misunderstandings with calling in an order, I am finally done with them. I have even called the manager at one point. I'm always put on hold and end up hanging up after 3-5min and call back. Half the time I get someone who doesn't understand my order or can't hear me because of the noise from the restaurant. This is the kind of place where you can order a slice from a selection of pre-made pizzas, or order a whole one to take-away. I had a slice of the sausage and peppers and a side Ceasar salad. The selection to choose from itself is quite nice, a mix of old stand-bys and more interesting topics, with at least a couple of vegetarian options. It's NY-style pizza, but my only complaint is that the crust was too thin while being fairly laden with cheese and toppings. The paper thin crust got mushy, and didn't crisp up with reheating, so it was not possible to pick up the slice and eat it. Otherwise the flavors were great. The ceasar salad inexplicably came with bacon instead of croutons - can't say that's a substitution I loved, but the dressing was quite good. They also had a garden or farmer's salad that I'd probably get next time. Plenty of seating upstairs, some really big tables for groups. read more

There is a significant mismatch b/t quality of pizza and quality of service...unfortunately, the poor delivery service ruins what would otherwise be original tasting pizza. I have been ordering from We, the Pizza for a few years now, but a rash of negligent driver hires has tuned me off for the last time. The last two times, one driver delivered to the wrong location, followed immediately by the delivery of the wrong pizza. To make matters worse, it appears new delivery protocol consists of ensuring the pizza is taken out of the hot bag prior to exiting a vehicle; a foul, IMO, of immense proportions.
