Our new door purchase started with a knock on our front door, original to the house from 1952. We had talked about replacing it (the door), so we offered to listen to the sales pitch. The salesman was friendly, well spoken and well informed. We opted for a new door and storm door, and the price was reasonable. We gave them $1300 for a down payment with the stipulation that they work around our schedule, not setting up any appointments before 4:00pm. We were promised this was not an issue. This was in September. They were unable to set an appointment for measurement around our schedule, all of the offers coming via text for early to late morning. October 1st we were offered 12:00-2:00, then 7:30am or lunch hour. Three weeks passed with no communication at all from them, at which time I reached out to the salesman. Oct 25th we were offered 10:00-12:00. We were offered Oct 31st for 7:00-7:30 or 12:00-1:00. My work shift is 7:00am-3:30pm. We made this very clear with the salesman before giving them any money. I had a phone conversation with their sales manager, who was the least professional person I've spoken with on the phone in a very long time, trying to cancel our order. The phone conversation was so bad my wife had to leave the room. They refused to cancel the order. Or rather, told me they would be keeping our $1300 if that's the route we wanted to go. We opted to see it through. We finally made an appointment for Dec 30th. The appointment was for 11:00-1:00. Fortunately I had a vacation day that day and was able to be home. Rather than continue arguing the matter, I used my vacation day to sit at home while they installed the door. The installers were very nice. We have a new door, but it will be tied to the experience every time I use it. Their inability to live up to their promise of working around our schedule, in my opinion, constituted breach of verbal contract. They should have happily refunded our money and apologized for the inconvenience. It is now Jan 10th and we have had no follow up from the company. Their lack of communication has been unconscionable. I would not do business with this company again and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I was very impressed with the demonstration of how the triple low e glass blocks heat, reducing my energy bills is very important to me. They replaced my gutters. Left a mess after replacement, didn't empty old gutters and everything was left in my rocks and plants underneath. I didn't complain to them about that. However, as soon as it rained the back gutters were leaking all over and the downspout in the back went right onto my patio. This caused a puddle on my patio. I contacted them and sent videos, they "said" they would send someone out to fix the gutters. They said it would cost me extra to extend the downspout off of the patio... I already overpaid for the gutters, why should I pay extra to have the job done correctly? I have emailed them three times and so far no one has been to my house to fix the problems. That was almost two months ago. Not impressed...do not trust this company. read more

I had 6 estimates. weathergard wasn't the cheapest but they were far from the highest. I liked that they are a family owned business and the windows are made in Michigan. They offered a guarantee that no other company came close too. The installation was crew cleaned and vacuumed after the windows were installed. I have waited a couple of months after installation to write this review. Weathergard delivered, From the beginning to the end. My home is much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It's to early to see how much Im saving on heating and cooling, but I can feel the difference. read more

I had 3 companies come out and give me an estimate for windows. Company A and Company B both had counted 16 windows that need replaced, WeatherGuard counted 23 (that was a big difference). A sales representative called and asked how can they get my business and I told them about the count. They asked can a manger come do the estimate and I said yes. The company wanted my spouse to be their but I responded that he will not and I'm the one who is paying for it. They told me they are not going to make any appointment with me unless my spouse is there. I told them they I don't have to do business with them and now they keep calling. read more

Update: Originally Weathergard agreed to pay $60 for the mishap with my dogs (after an extremely long phone battle). My check never came in the mail. After a phone call, they said they weren't going to send me the $60 because of the internet review I posted. So now I know that this company does not stick to their word and is trying to scare me into removing my reviews. It is more important to me for potential customers to know the truth about this company and their poor customer service. I would have never posted a negative review in the first place if they would have taken care of this in a professional, respectful manner. read more

I have a seriously mixed review for Weathergard Windows. A couple years ago, we had them install a big bay window. The glass is super dense. The salesman hit one with a hammer and nothing happened. It's amazing stuff. We love the window and loved the service. Fast forward to present day, a salesman came by to give us an estimate on getting an instillation of insulation. He was very smooth. He wrote on our estimate that our siding was aluminum even though we all talked at length about the siding being asbestos. Because we had been customers prior, they gave us half off. $2,700 seemed like a deal - maybe not, not sure. The day came for the installers to do their job. They remarked right away at how our house was not aluminum and that to do the job they would have to break our siding every 18 inches. This would force us to get all new siding. Not an appealing option. So they came inside to see if they could do it from inside. That would require them to break our bathroom tiling and drill holes in our bedroom walls every 18 inches. Again, not an appealing option. So we sent them on their merry way. We called Weathergard. The sales manager kindly refunded all of our money. It was quite the ordeal though. It was time for another project so I was looking for the contact information for WeatherGard. Finding their Yelp like, I was shocked. They completed a complete window replacement on my home (12 windows) in 2003 with no issues. Estimate was done in a professional manner and also was very accurate. The installers were considerate of my family (young kids) and didn't use foul language. There was even a follow up appointment to verify that everything was to our satisfaction. Fast Forward to 2013. Time for another project. Estimate was done. Price was good. Installation was done. No issues. Again a follow up was done and verified that everything was to our satisfaction. The production manager kept us informed about our order. The absolute best part though, was the installation crew! Chris and Jim were fantastic! This was a very big, multi-day job and they were there, rain or shine. They were very professional and took great care with protecting our home. They worked non-stop and were very meticulous with the installation of every single window. They almost became like family! They made this stressful home remodel project very painless for us. We had 35 year old Andersen wood windows that were very drafty (more than we originally knew) and wanted to make a decision we would be happy with for the next 20 years. We did a lot of research before choosing WeatherGard, we had 3 estimates from well known competitors. WeatherGard was not the cheapest, but I know cheap doesn't equal quality, so I never make a decision solely based on price. Our sales rep. Harold did a very thorough presentation explaining the differences in the qualities of glass used, the grade of vinyl compared to others as well as their guarantee versus other's warranties. Because we were having a lot of work done, and we had limits to what we could spend Harold did a nice job of offering options that made the job affordable and asked questions others had not. We have a tudor style home that is cream with brown trim and it was important to make sure we were able to get a color for the exterior that matched the the brown trim well. No other vinyl manufacturer could do this for us. Just another benefit to WeatherGard. We replaced over 40 windows including 2 bay windows,1 doorwall and added a new doorwall that had to be cut out of an existing brick wall. We had 5 installers at our home for 2 full days. These guys worked through a 3 hour snow storm that gave us 2" of snow. They laid tarps throughout and took great care of our home. They got to work immediately had all the windows installed in one day and did all the exterior trim work the next. The house was immediately warmer and quieter than ever before. I can't comment on energy savings yet, but I can say are home is much more comfortable now. The workmanship is EXCELLENT. The attention to detail FANTASTIC. It was also nice to know these guys work full time for WeatherGard, they are not subcontracted to do the work like others out there. Harold even came out the 2nd day to survey the work, a real sign to me that everyone cares here. If you want a company that is easy to work with, will do the right thing for you and wants to take care of the customer you should call them. I will recommend them to anyone who asks. So, yesterday a guy from WeatherGard knocked on my door asking about home improvements. We need a gutter along the South side of the house, and the North side of the carport. I have turned every solicitor that has knocked on my door away for the 28 years we've lived here. He was young, very polite and respectful. So, I gave him my information to set up the appointment. The salesman shows up 10 minutes late. Conversation. Me: Good morning Sales person: Good morning. I have good news for you and bad news already. You ran into one of our canvassers yesterday? Me: Well, he knocked on my door. Salesman: Well these guys are college students that we try to keep busy. If it's less than 150 feet we have to charge a "small job fee" which is quite expensive. They are supposed to know that. Me: Well, how much is the additional small job fee? I need to have gutters put up. The salesman then referred me to a different company saying they would be much cheaper. Even though I asked him to quote me for the small job fee, he referred me to another company. He then said "I'm sorry to have wasted your time". I said well, I'm sorry you don't want to do the estimate. He kind of chuckled and walked away. Maybe the college student should be trained in sales. He was far more productive and polite the actual sales person. I probably would have bought from Zach. Good job Zach! WeatherGard NOT recommend. read more

When the salesman from Weathergard called me to schedule an appointment, we got all the way to the end of the call (after I gave him my home address), and he asked if I was single or married. When I replied, "married" he told me he couldn't make the appointment with me unless my husband was also home at the time. He said it was the one policy the owner insisted upon, and he (the salesman) didn't want to lose his job. Excuse me? Is this the 1950's? How ridiculously insulting on so many levels. I have to say, Weathergard did it top notch from beginning to end. The gentleman who came to give me an estimate, I believe his name was Tony, was amazing. He was very honest with about everything. Answered every question. Didnt leave me feeling like I do at a car mechanic shop. He was honest about the price, quality, and installation. He even offered the opportunity to see the warehouse where the windows were made. I thought he was bluffing, so I called him on it. I personally went through the warehouse and was very impressed. The windows werestronger than the other companies that came to my house. (I had 5 estimates from competitors) Prices were certainly comparable, a little better than most, but the quality was much better. Seeing the windows being built sold me. The installers had the whole house complete in 1 day (23 windows, 2 storm doors). The second day they came back to caulk the outside and trim it up. The windows look great, the efficiency in my home is another story. So, I have a large master bathroom with a coved ceiling. Since I moved in and before weathergard windows were installed, I havent had the luxury of seeing the steam fog up the mirror. I never thought I would miss that. Frankly, I dont miss that, but what I realized, is the steam keeps the bathroom warm. I can honestly say that the windows have already proved to be way more efficient for me because I was able to see the steam and fog on the window. Didnt realize I was losing so much heat/air through my old windows. I love the look, the temp in my home is better, the salseperson was very informative and patient with me while I shopped around, and the installers were great. No problems. Today I had the Weathergard install crew at my house installing my new windows. I must state that from the sales consultation all the way through the end of the job today that everything has been professional, smooth and simple. I am a second time customer with Weathergard - I had them install windows in my last house, over ten years ago (that install involved quarter and half round windows as well as sliders, double hung and fixed windows (along with a door wall)). Their product has stood the test of time - I was satisfied then and am even more satisfied today. The final portion of my project will be the new front door install, along with two side lights and a transom window. I had the pleasure to work with Shlome on the design details of this aspect of my project. The entire process was easy and professional. I could not ask for more. The entire cost of my project is just under $24K - and I have zero regrets with my expenditure. I had a garden window installed in June 1999 with a lifetime warranty on the seals. One of the seals failed resulting in moisture between the glass. I had a service rep come out to inspect the window on June 12, 2014 , and confirmed a failed seal. He measured the glass to be replaced and told me I could expect it to be replaced in about 2 weeks. After many calls Traci in the service dept called me on July 12 2014 and said she expected the window on July 21st. Well I still don't have the window. I called again today but I don't expect I will Hear from her. What good is a warranty if you don't honor it. James S read more

I had Weathergard install windows in my house in 2007, and was told by the Salesman that they would cut my heating bills in half. I was misled. Not only were my bills NOT cut in half, they were higher. I had poor insulation in the walls and ceiling, so the new windows had no affect on my bills. The possibility of poor insulation being a factor on whether or not the new windows would save on my bills, was never mentioned. They just wanted the Sale! I have for many years now been in contact with one of the Owners as to some kind of compensation for being misled. Nothing was done, nor was I given any compensation. He mentioned that he would give me a good deal on insulation, but after having researched insualtion companies, I found much better and cheaper deals. Be Careful of false promises. read more

Horrible installation!!! First of all, our door handle had a gouge missing, then the foam they used was coming out of the trim causing ugly bubbles and lifting the trim away from the house, then we noticed a yellow stain on our BRAND NEW drive way from the foam!!!!!! We called them right away. Had to wait 2 weeks for a guy to come out and look at the problem then another who knows how long to get it fixed. We payed way to much money for it to look like crap!!!!
