Small company with poor customer service. We need kitchen cabinets and few other cabinets, we approached this company to get an estimate, the initial draft plans were provided to them and after a little while they provided first initial estimate and we were pleased with price to quality ratio. We informed the office manager who we talked to initially that estimate doesn't have that we need/all the cabinets, but we could work on this while they come to a site for review. Vladimir, the owner of the company, came by, took all measurements, pictures and said we would be work with Nadia her wife/company designer on this project. We signed contract and paid initial deposit to start the work. The one thing what made me a little nervous right from the beginning is when I visit their "shop" in Newark I noticed they don't have much there, no show room and whole shop consist of only two machineries. I am somewhat familiar with cabinetry manufacturing processes and know those are absolutely not enough to manufacture everything they offer, but based on conversation with couple previous customers they work with I figured if they delivered product to those customers and kitchen cabinets looked fine, I shouldn't be worry about, even if they subcontract everything to others and just assemble these cabinets in their shop and do some minor work, it would be OK w me. So, we start working with Nadia on design of all cabinet and here is where we run into problems. It seems they are not paying attention to details and we have to go multiple times back and forward repeating ourself and pointing out the same issues/errors in design which made this whole process very frustrating. We asked Nadia to some over to a job site for her to see all herself, to make things easier, but she never did. Also, any minor changes that should takes minutes to adjust or correct was taking days and weeks. At the end as we got more and more frustrated and I send them email asking all the questions I had and my frustration and asking if we made mistake starting working this them? And....., instead of assuring us that everything would be OK and correcting the issues of our concerns, they simply said that if we don't like it, we can break/cancel contract, so we did. Shocking customer service !!! Basically we wasted month and a half from Nov 6 2024 until Dec 12 on nothing and for our deposit we only receiving some PDF drawings that would be useless for others, as others would still need to re-draw everything in AutoCAD (or other program) and again not even the whole thing, all the cabinets we telling them from the beginning are missing from designed, they never addressed those, but we specifically went on each cabinet and location with Vladimir on his initial and only visit. Very unfortunate, as we had hopes for this company. I think the main issue with this company is mom-and-pop shop (which I am not against) but they are overwhelms and because run by husband and wife they may not want argue between each other and run a company as it should and as result disregarding customers needs. Hope they will learn and make changes, but for now I would recommend think twice before starting working with them and do visit their manufacturing site at minimum. We needed to remodel our kitchen. After an initial discussion with Nadia about what to expect, we put down a deposit and started working on the design. Let me start with the positives: Responses were quick (via Telegram group). At the end, the deposit was returned on time and in full. The rest of the experience, however, was disappointing. In practice, the process became: "If you don't want a design in line with the philosophy of our company, then you get no design at all. Go to any other company." Here's how it unfolded: Nadia provided the initial design. We explained what we liked and didn't like, with reasons. We provided detailed instructions (with pictures) showing how the design could be adjusted to fit our needs. Instead of collaboration, many of our requests were met with replies such as: "It is ok as is." "Your change is useless." "The problem you mentioned is not a problem." "I like it as I drew it." "My design is better." "You will get used to it." "I don't do it like that." "I have 15 years of experience." "You don't listen to my useful advice. That is your problem!" "Have mercy on the hostess, please!" "Nobody does it like that!" Comments like these made it difficult to move the project forward. When we tried to justify our requests with logical arguments, the response was often "It is not right anyway!" without further explanation. Ergonomics were mentioned frequently as a design principle, but when I asked for specific reasoning, the answer was simply: "Go ask ChatGPT." One critical stage of the project required knowing exact cabinet sizes to make a decision. Instead of confirming the measurements and advising whether it would work, I was told: "Just assume it doesn't work. I'm not going to calculate the distance until it's the final project." This was problematic, because the final project itself depended on those very calculations. When I offered to calculate it myself, I was told: "You can't because you don't know how." I went ahead anyway, and my measurements showed it would work. Nadia then responded: "No. The real size is smaller. This is what my program shows, let's move on." After more discussion, she eventually acknowledged it was possible--and even found 5 additional inches of space. This could have been a very straightforward project. We knew exactly what we wanted, nothing unusual or outside building codes. It could easily have been a $50K contract for the company. I cannot comment on other employees, because our entire interaction was limited to Nadia. The project ended when she declined to continue making the final adjustments we needed. Recommendation: If you have a very clear vision for your kitchen, this may not be the right fit. If you are flexible and open to accepting the designer's preferred approach without pushing for changes, then it may work. Overall, communication was fast and the refund process was handled properly. But the design experience itself felt rigid, uncollaborative, and ultimately not customer-friendly. We had an unusual design for a closet (from another private designer) to work around some obstacles. We wanted to replace a build-in closet we don't use (room was design as a bedroom but we are using as an work-from-home office) with a reading corner and some storage space for office supplies. But the build-in closet was hidding an entrance into crawl space and was unusually large. So we needed some movable construction to keep crawl space accesibble and an unussualy deep closet. We had a design from private designer and was looking for a company to make it life. Most of the other companies was trying to fit us in their standart sizes and wasn't able to offer anything even remotely close to what we requested. Cabinetry Bay Area made it as close to a picture as possible. They spend a lot of time helping us finalize design. Carefully explained all the different chooses in material. They were very patient when we blocked them for various reasons, rethinking our choices in color, handles, and number of shelfs. I like that they also install their own product and have all-included price. Their team did a great job installing it. Wooden panel on top with lights was particularly tricky to install as it is one piece. They were very careful, not rushing, spend almost a day assembling it. Polina was critical in keeping me informed on the project status, Vlad worked to come up with solutions that worked best for my budget, aesthetic, and functional choices, and Akos and Denis made sure all elements were finished to the highest degree. Akos especially made numerous trips to tweak things to ensure the final details fit my very specific needs such as adjusting shelf heights after they were installed. I had very specific designs already in mind, with general drawings already done by my architect so I didn't work with Nadia, but they were still able to source very specific things I requested that aren't typically used in the US. Cabinetry Bay Area recently made all of the custom cabinetry for our kitchen. We tore a wall down and combined two small rooms into one so there is a lot of cabinetry, including a large island, a wall and a half of upper/lower cabinets, a "mudroom" area enclosure, and a floor to ceiling set of pantry type cabinets.
